Sophie was both excited and a little scared. What was her big brother, the karate wunderkind, doing with a pony? He watched the show with her to keep her company, but how is any of this happening?

"Umm, Jason, how is this happening? Am I still dreaming?" Sophie asked as she sat on the floor, trying to compose herself. Maybe if she poured some cold water on her face, she would wake up in her bed, and reality would kick in. Yet, this didn't feel like a dream to her.

"Hate to break it to you, little girl, but your big bro likes my franchise. He liked it SO much that he ordered this weird machine online that summons people from other universes. He wanted to make a friend. Good reason, in my opinion." Rainbow Dash said, with a grin.

A big machine, was that the weird 80's computer sitting on the floor? What else could be summoned from it?

"Let me explain. There is this idea called the "Many Worlds Interpretation," which says that for every choice that is made, a new universe is created where the opposite, or alternate choice happens. When Lauren Faust, the creator of "Friendship is Magic", invented this show, she inadvertently made the ponies real. Quantum physics is weird, man. Frankly, I would probably summon Twilight or Princess Celestia to have her explain this. I know nothing" Jason said.

"Well, does that mean I can go to Equestria, or is it only one way?" Sophie asked.

"Well, you COULD go if you wanted, but I wonder how it would work." Jason said. He brought the quantum device closer to the three of them and showed Sophie how it works. "I am going to bring back an object this time, to explain how it works, okay?" Dashie and Sophie nodded.

UNIVERSE SET: EQUESTRIA. TRAVEL OR RETRIEVE?

Jason typed in "retrieve". The machine then prompted: "RETRIEVE CONFIRMED. RETRIEVE ITEM OR PONY?"

"What item are you going to bring to the apartment, Jason?" Sophie asked with curiosity. Honestly, Jason wasn't entirely sure what item to summon.

"Do you want to summon an item, Sophie?" Jason asked his sister. I mean, she DID introduce him to this franchise, so if anyone deserves to summon stuff, it is her.

"Umm, maybe the Element of Loyalty? I wonder if it would work on Earth."

That was an excellent idea on Sophie's part. Jason typed into the console "Element of Loyalty"

The console responded: "ELEMENT OF LOYALTY SELECTED: FINAL SELECTION CANNOT BE UNDONE. CONFIRM QUANTUM TUNNELING Y/N"

Jason typed "y" and then entered the enter key. Like last time, nothing happened for the first few minutes. "Why isn't anything happening? Obviously, this machine works, because Dashie is here, but shouldn't it be instant?" Sophie asked her brother.

"It takes a while, trust me." After five minutes, the console began running lines of code again, and the lights flickered. The four electrodes started sparking, and a much smaller portal was created, jettisoning out a necklace with a gem encased in it. The portal then disappeared.

"Huh, I guess this machine DOES work after all, neat." Rainbow Dash said as she put on the Element of Loyalty. As soon as it touched her body, it began reacting strongly with her, causing the pegasus to glow.

"Cool! You look awesome!" Sophie said to her new friend.

The real question remains: does this second attempt at quantum tunneling also give side effects to the user? Will Sophie develop powers of her own, or does this only work for sapient creatures?

"Sophie, I have a bit of a random question for you. When I first used this quantum tunneling device, it seems that a bit of Dashie's magic got transferred into my body, granting me the ability to fly." He said, proving it as he floated a foot off the ground. "Do you feel weird at all after this second attempt? Maybe you could do something that you couldn't do before?" Jason said as he landed gently back onto the floor.

"HOLY COW, MY BROTHER CAN FLY! Can I fly?" Sophie asked as she tried jumping up into the air. "Umm, Sophie, looks like you don't have a quantum transfer. Sorry." Jason said to her sister, who was a bit upset that she didn't get superpowers from this quantum tunneling.

"Umm, if it makes you feel any better, Sophie, I can carry you on my back around the city, would you like that?" Dash said with a grin. She had carried Spike and Scootaloo before, but a human child was new territory. Are they heavy?

"One thing, Rainbow Dash, don't go crazy. My sister doesn't have any martial arts training, so her sense of balance isn't that good. Don't go Mach 5, okay?" Jason said a bit sternly. Sophie was still his sister, and he didn't want her to get hurt.

"Yeah, yeah, I won't kill your sister. C'mon Sophie, I sense a bit of adventure in you. I am going to do the Sound again. Jason, you coming?"

Well, Jason did have his sparring session with his sensei in 30 minutes, so he couldn't come. "I have a sparring session with Sensei Shoji in half an hour, so try to be back by then, okay?"

Jason put his sneakers back on, grabbed his gi and belt, and quickly grabbed the key to the apartment. He wonders if this new magic will also give him better reflexes and agility, along with his newfound flight. As he runs down the stairs and exits the apartment building, he sees a rainbow trail in the sky, along with his sister sitting on Dashie's back.

"Try not to go crazy, Rainbow Dash. She is my sister." Jason thought to himself as he ran towards the dojo on East 57th. His hypothesis was correct. His running was faster as well, and he felt greater stamina.

"You know what, I have 30 minutes, screw it. I want to see my sister." He thought to himself as he quickly rose above the clouds, to a steady altitude of 8500 feet. Low enough to breathe normally, and high enough not to be detected by people.

"Okay, Rainbow Dash said that she was going back to the Long Island Sound, so I guess I will fly there?" Jason said as he quickly propelled himself in a northeastern direction. Within 3 minutes, he had already passed the Throgs Neck Bridge. "Holy shit! I must've gotten faster since this morning. Not Mach 1 fast, but close." He thought to himself as he noticed a rainbow trail in front of him, albeit pale.

"Shit, I gotta catch up!" Jason exclaimed as he tried flying faster in the direction of the rainbow aftertrail. He got closer and closer, but still far behind her. "Okay, I want to break Mach 1. Let's try a bit harder!" Jason thought as he focused more of his energy towards reaching a faster speed.

Around two miles ahead of Jason, Rainbow Dash and Sophie were cruising along their merry way. "I still can't believe that I am not dreaming. This is unreal!" Sophie said, happy that she quickly grabbed her swimming goggles before taking off. At the speeds they were going, the wind would have ripped the skin off her eyelids.

"Well, this is the RD experience. How about a Rainboom? Think you can handle it?"

"Ah shit, of course Dashie wants to push her limits. Not on my watch!" Jason said as he moved closer and closer to where they were flying. A cone of air began to form around him, although not like the prism one Rainbow Dash had before. "Oh my god, am I going to break Mach 1?"

"Is that...Jason…?" Sophie asked as she pointed towards a streak in the air moving closer to them.

Rainbow Dash quickly turned her head to the left, and saw a cone of air getting closer to breaking the sound barrier.

"Holy Celestia...Your brother is a prodigy. He is going to break the sound barrier. He literally found out he could fly today, and was struggling when we went out this morning for a trial run. Breaching Mach 1 in 3….2...1…"

And then it happened: Jason broke the sound barrier at 767 mph. Mach 1.

"Oh yeah bigshot. Sophie, hold onto my mane. This is a challenge." She began to speed up exponentially. " Rainboom in 5...4...3...2...1…"

"Oh crap, now I really can't catch up." Jason said as he saw an explosion of color all around him. It covered all 180 degrees of his vision, and probably went further than that.

"Hot damn. I sure hope that whatever magic she uses to fly that fast protects my sister's internal organs." Jason said as he ascended slightly to try and pique his sister's attention.

"Sophie. I have to go now for my sparring session. Rainbow, take her home. I assume you can babysit for an hour?"

Rainbow Dash turned around, flew towards Jason, and nodded. "Yeah, I watched Spike a few times, your sister will be in good hands. Okay, let's turn around this time. We can take the scenic route. Jason, go do your karate-whatever."

And with that, both siblings went their separate ways, and Jason now had to think of a way to hide his newfound abilities when sparring with Sensei Shoji. I mean, he is a black belt, but his new speed and reflexes are superhuman. This will prove to be a challenge for him. As for Sophie, she couldn't believe that she was literally riding on Rainbow Dash herself, and was witness to a Sonic Rainboom. Obviously, if she tells her friends at school in the fall, they will laugh at her. She was smart enough to keep this to herself, for now.

"You are awesome, kid. You have guts. I like that." Rainbow Dash said as she flew much slower to try and take in the sights of Long Island.

"I was just going to say the same thing." Sophie said. Within the next 15 minutes, Jason landed inconspicuously at East 57th, and Sophie was back in her apartment with Rainbow Dash.

"Okay, showtime, Sensei!" Jason thought to himself. Sensei Shoji would be in for a rude awakening...
