Aaron noticed how flustered Spencer was when the young man returned from his short visit to his mother. A visit Aaron had considered perhaps a little inadequate since Reid was supposed to have been staying a week in Vegas to see his mother. It annoyed Aaron a little since he would give anything to visit his own mother again yet Spencer didn't seem to want to visit his.

Aaron was close to asking Spencer if everything was alright but another body was found and while Aaron frowned each time Spencer checked his phone anxiously, he needed to keep his mind on the case.

"Sophie Kidkins... she was only seventeen. Christ, did you see what they did to her?"

Aaron turned his head sharply to an officer who had been pale since returning from the crime scene. The young-man's hand was shaking a little.

"Why don't you take a break?" Aaron suggested and the officer looked up at him, his face a mixture of confusion and guilt.

"I'm fine, sir."

Aaron knew from looking at him that this was one of the young man's first cases. He was young and inexperienced with seeing death. Aaron stared at him fiercely but not unkindly.

"After what you just saw, nobody will judge you. Take five minutes."

The officer glanced at the sheriff's office and then back at Aaron and his adam's apple quivered as he swallowed nervously.

"Okay," he mumbled.

Aaron sighed as he watched the officer go and he reacalled the feelings he had on his first week in the bureau. He had to harden himself to the horror. He had thought the job wouldn't affect him after everything he'd seen already but he'd been wrong. Nothing can compare and Aaron still struggled.

He turned and started toward the conference room. He walked over, pausing occasionally to return greetings to various officers. When he got inside he found Reid hunched over the table, staring down at his phone as he rubbed his jaw in what Hotch knew was anxiety.

"Reid are you okay?"

Spencer looked up to see Aaron looking down at him in concern. He sat up straighter and turned his phone, laying it screen down on the table.

Had he looked so bad that Aaron had noticed? His face felt hot and he realised he'd nearly rubbed a rash into his jaw. He hastily stowed his hands on his lap and looked up at Aaron.

"I'm fine, Hotch. Sorry, I've been distracted haven't I?"

"Yes," Aaron said honestly but he continued to watch Spencer critically. "I expected you to still be with your mother. You can take as much time as you need."

"That's not why..." Spencer paused, glancing at his phone. "It's nothing," he said, turning his head slowly back to Aaron. "I'll be more focused."

"Alright. But if you're staying here I need your head in this case." Aaron looked at Spencer's phone with a frown and Spencer pulled it off the desk and pushed it down into his pocket.

"I can start on the geographical profile."

"Fine. Morgan and I are going to the morgue. Call if you find anything."

Spencer nodded and watched Aaron move away, pausing to talk Morgan away from an officer.

Spencer fidgeted for a moment before getting up and heading to the conference room where a map had been set up. The room was empty and he closed the door behind him. He went to the map and was about to reach for the pins when the suspense became too great. He pulled his phone back out and opened the text from William he had been ignoring for the last few hours.

There were two phone numbers and then another message from his father.

"I did some digging to find these numbers. I hope you get a chance to talk to them."

Spencer stared at the numbers. Behind both were his biological brothers. He had asked for his biological mothers but William hadn't found that. Spencer still didn't even know their names but he didn't feel like replying to ask. He'd spoken enough to William. He wasn't sure he had the strength to interrogate him further.

Spencer copied the first number and glanced around the empty room, looking past the windows at the officers behind their desks who hadn't noticed him. He pasted the number in a new message and stared at the text box.

He could have laughed at himself. What was he going to say? 'Hi, you don't know who I am. And I don't even know your name but I'm your brother. You either think I'm missing or dead but here I am. Isn't that great!'

Spencer shook his head with a sigh. He closed his phone and set it down again on the table. He picked up the pins and pushed one in the spot their latest victim was found. As he did he glanced back at his phone. Spencer grabbed another pin and after consulting the other board he pushed it in the place where the first victim was found.

Spencer's eyes strayed to his phone again. With a sigh he set the pins down and opened his phone where the text box was still open and waiting.

He started typing without rational thought. He looked over his message and while he still had his nerve he pressed send.

The conference room door opened and Rossi walked in. Spencer jumped suddenly and lost his grip on his phone which fell to the floor. He bent down to grab it before quickly turning to the map and slipping the phone away.

"Did I interrupt something?" Rossi asked. He shut the door behind him and waited for Spencer to turn.

"I was Uh... just doing the profile."

"What's up, kid?"

"N-nothing," Spencer said and he picked up a file and flipped it open, despite already knowing the location for every victim from memory.

Rossi narrowed his eyes and watched Spencer drop the pin twice before finally getting it in the map.

"You're not in trouble?"

Spencer dropped another pin but he didn't pick it up. He looked across at Dave and shook his head. "No," he said and he sighed. "It's just some... personal things- nothing... I'm not in trouble, Rossi."

"Do you want to talk about it?" Rossi asked, taking a seat at the conference table. His eyes fell to Spencer's pocket where he'd hastily hidden his phone. He looked back up to Spencer as the young man swallowed.

"No. No, thank you, I'm fine."

Dave leaned across the table and picked up one of the files. "Well, if you do get in trouble I don't want you to hide it from me."

Spencer nodded quickly and found himself smirking. David Rossi, FBI agent, founder of the BAU, author and potentially having links with the mafia wanted to know his problems.

It was then that Spencer slowly felt dread seep in. He felt for his phone in his pocket. What had he done?

"Spencer?"

Spencer jumped and looked at Rossi who was frowning up at him.

"You look like you've seen a ghost, kid."

"M'fine..." Spencer let out a deep breath and turned to the map. He grabbed some pins again. God, what have you done? I'm not ready for this.

Rossi watched Spencer for a minute and glanced at the kid's pocket. He was going to find out what was on that phone.

Morgan and Hotch came back an hour later by which time Reid had calmed down. He'd completed the geographical profile and offered two possible locations for the next body.

They started to discuss the profile when Aaron's phone started to ring. He glanced down at it and saw Sean's number. He would have hung up straight away but something stopped him. He looked up at the team and excused himself before picking up the call.

"Aaron?"

Hotch glanced at his team, his eyes landing briefly on Reid who looked away, a blush spreading across his cheeks. Hotch turned his head to the phone then.

"What is it, Sean?"

"Have you gotten any texts?"

"What?"

"Texts... or a phone call, I guess."

Hotch's scowl fell lower. "What are you talking about?" he said as he glanced back at the team. "I'm working a case."

"Aaron I got a really freaky text."

"From who?"

"I... that's the weird bit-"

"Sean, just tell me. I don't have time for any of this." Hotch shook his head as if his brother could see him. He could see Sean in his head rubbing anxiously at his jaw, a trait he'd, unfortunately, inherited from their father.

Hotch heard Sean take a deep breath and Aaron shifted onto his other foot.

"Sean-"

"I think it's a hoax," Sean mumbled. He cleared his throat quietly. "But someone text me saying they were Myles."

"Myles?" Hotch said and then the name sunk in like a fist to the gut. He reached an arm around himself and clutched the phone tighter.

"Yea. They said their parents had taken them in after the lake." Sean paused, Aaron knew he was probably feeling sick himself.

"What was the number?"

"I'll send it to you when I get off this call. Its fake, right?"

Hotch nodded his head shakily, his hand still pressed to his stomach. He didn't like to think about Myles. "I'll get my analyst to track that number. Whoever sent it knows more than they should."

"Yea... it freaked me out, ya know?"

"Yea. block the number, they might be toying with you."

"A-alright."

Aaron tried to stand up straighter and he caught Rossi looking at him through the conference room windows. Reid was also watching, worrying his lip as he did.

Hotch pressed his lips together as he looked back at Rossi before he spoke quietly to Sean. "Did you reply?" he asked.

There was a long pause and Hocth frowned.

"Sean?"

"Yes?"

"Did you reply?"

"Ye-yea."

Hotch let out a gruff sigh. "What did you say?"

"I asked him where he got my number," Sean said.

"What did he say?

"Said his dad gave it him. He also said he didn't know about it all until Saturday."

Rossi was still looking Hotch's way and he tried to straighten despite his discomfort.

"I told him to fuck off after that."

Hotch couldn't help but scoff.

"I'd like to beat the hell out of him though," Sean muttered and Hotch rolled his eyes.

"This is serious," he said and he heard Sean snort.

"I know! He text me. It's sick."

"Send me the number and I'll have Garcia look into it."

"Alright."

"And Sean," Hotch said, letting out a breath of relief when he saw Morgan talk to Rossi and pull his gaze off him. "You're okay, aren't you?"

"Yea. Just shocked me."

"It's certainly odd."

"Someone is sick in the head, probably has too much time on their hands too."

Hotch nodded and raised his eyebrows in greeting when an officer passed by. "I have to go now. Send me that number and I'll have Garcia look into it once this case is over."

"Sorry for interrupting," Sean said lightheartedly despite the fact that neither of them felt light, a heavy feeling of grief had fallen between them.

"I'll call you as soon as I know more."
