Now, I'm with the chapter.

"We need to communicate with him," Aaron said slowly, realising how monumental of a move it would be in the cause of rescuing Spencer. He'd been kidnapped on Tuesday and now Saturday morning sunshine was shining through their windows, alerting them to the passing time on their dire situation.
"How?" Morgan said and he scoffed, raising his hands at the glares it sent his way. "I'm not knocking the idea, it's obviously the best way but how are we meant to get into contact with a man who hasn't been in society for over twenty years?"
Aaron sat back in his chair, another realisation coming to him of how helpless they were.
"The news," JJ said in a small voice and she looked around nervously at her team. "I used to be media liaison. I know what to say."
"Does he even watch the news?" Emily glanced at Aaron doubtfully. He didn't look back at her, but looked down thoughtfully.
"It's a long shot," Morgan added. Aaron was shaking his head.
"It might work," he said without glancing up. "He kept the newspaper articles of his first killings. I-I remember watching it on the news and he'd be listening." Aaron nodded again, smiling across at JJ. "That could work."
"The police can confirm however, that they are tirelessly on the hunt for Ed Bingham and for people of Virginia and neighbouring states to stay vigilant and to call in if they have any information or sightings of the escaped convict."
"Police are monitoring the case very closely."
"That's right, Louis. And-"
Ed scoffed and turned the TV off but not after getting a long look at the news anchor. He dropped the remote on the bed beside him and saw one of the feet next to him move. He glanced up the bed and grinned when he saw his son gazing back at the TV with wide desperate eyes. He looked at Ed and whimpered through his gag.
"If you can prove you won't scream again I will take it out," Ed said, watching as the young man sagged on the bed, his arms strained from where he'd pulled them back and tied them to the bedposts.
Ed glanced back at the dark TV screen and he sighed contentedly. "I told you they wouldn't find us," he said. "They haven't even connected the two. I bet your friends haven't even noticed that you're gone." He laughed and Spencer's lips trembled as he too wondered if that was the case.
They hadn't been happy with him and he had given up his job. They had no reason to check on him. Nobody did. It was very likely that they never read the file he'd given them and that they didn't care.
Spencer shook his head of the thoughts. They clearly knew he was gone. They had to.
"I have something!" Garcia looked up from her laptop, looking around at the sullen room with a beaming smile.
Aaron looked up slowly, pulling his head from the file Spencer had given them several days before, the one he regretted not reading.
Garcia turned her laptop around and pointed to the screen excitedly. "They found this CCTV footage from two days ago."
She hit play and Aaron felt nauseous when he saw his father on screen, getting out of a car he recognised to be Spencer.
As they watched, Garcia started to explain. "The storeowner realised things had been stolen when they did a stock check. They contacted the police who found this and then hey presto, they identified the car and the guy as our unsub! That's a lead, right?! That's something?" Garcia looked around at them all hopefully.
Morgan smiled and leaned across to take her hand in his. "You did good, babygirl," he said and he winked.
"Where was this?" Rossi asked as he squinted at the screen.
"Uh... Tennessee somewhere... one sec."
Emily looked up in alarm as Rossi turned his gaze lazily to Aaron. "He's moving fast."
The door opened then and Anderson stuck his head in. He smiled awkwardly when the team looked at him.
"Sorry Uh... agent Jareau the local news team is outside and ready for the conference," he said.
Garcia pulled her laptop back towards herself quietly and started typing again.
JJ pushed away from the table and stood from her chair. Aaron followed her up before she could get to the door.
"Do you know what you're going to say?" he asked.
JJ smiled. "I've got this, Hotch. I'm not going to let Spence down."
Aaron nodded, unable to force a smile as JJ had.
"I'm coming," he said simply. Emily stood up too as did Morgan.
JJ looked around at them all, her eyes suddenly moist. "I didn't expect any less."
Spencer knew he was dying. He hated being dramatic but his pain was unending and his body was weaker than it had ever been before. He could barely lift his hands anymore, not that it mattered since they were wrenched up to the bedposts.
Ed had come in and out of the motel and had fed him soup at some point in the afternoon. He'd shook Spencer awake and spooned cold chicken soup into his mouth. After six spoonfuls Spencer turned his head and wretched, bringing up most of the food.
Ed had forced him to eat the rest of the bowl. Spencer's stomach had been upset since then. He couldn't even press his hands against it to ease the pain. He could only lay back and look at the ceiling willing both death and rescue. Whatever came first he supposed.
When night fell, Ed came back with a grin on his face. He left Spencer's bedroom door open after gagging him and spent the evening cooking himself a steak which made Spencer both sick and hungry.
He talked to Spencer the whole time. Even as he was eating he'd pause methodically, chewing before saying something else.
Spencer wished then that he didn't have a brother. He wished William was his real father. He wanted more than anything to sever his connections with the Hotchner family.
Ed flicked on the TV again and lent back on the bed, dipping his hand into his bag of chips.
He went to the news channel and turned the volume up after checking on his captive who was sleeping, his lips limp against the wet gag.
He snorted and stuffed chips into his mouth as he turned back to the TV.
He leaned back on the headboard, the heat of the young man next to him pressing against him.
"The election lead to a landslide victory for-"
Ed sighed loudly, blocking out the blonde news reporter. "Boring," he muttered, smirking as he glanced at a sleeping Spencer. "They should get to the good stuff," he said to the young agent who didn't hear him.
The reporters smiled, exchanged with each other some words of gratitude before the camera turned on a man sat seriously behind his desk.
"Thanks, Emma," he said, glancing somewhere across from him. He then addressed the camera. "As many of our audience may know last Sunday afternoon a convict escaped from Mckean federal prison in Lewis Run, Pennsylvania. Over the past few days the whole country has been broadcasting this news but earlier today the FBI shared some serious information regarding the case. We broadcasted this conference live earlier but for anyone who missed it we will play a segment now."
Ed sat up in bed, watching the TV intently.
A video started to play on screen of a pretty blonde woman. Ed yelled out in surprise when he saw his eldest son stood behind her, his brown eyes piercing through the camera at him.
"I'll be damned," he muttered.
Beside him Spencer stirred and had opened one eye. He saw the TV and nearly stopped breathing all together. JJ. His JJ was on the screen.
"-important information regarding the Ed Bingham case. The disappearance of an FBI agent has been linked to Bingham. SSA Doctor Spencer Reid is a member of our team and has been specifically targeted by this unsub. We believe Bingham is travelling with this... victim. He may also be travelling alone, the whereabouts of the agent are unknown as are Bingham."
The video cut and jumped to another clip of Aaron Hotchner in front of the podium. Ed shuffled to the edge of the bed. Behind him Spencer watched with wet eyes.
Aaron took a deep breath and exhaled slowly before looking directly into the camera, as it looking straight through to Spencer and Ed.
"This case is being taken very seriously. Many reports have stated a lacklustre effort on the part of law enforcement. I want to reinforce the falseness to this claim. The escaped convict, Ed Bingham, is my father. I understand the danger he poses and there's nothing I want more than to see him incarcerated once again."
Aaron adjusted his stance, looking down momentarily before again looking straight at the camera and Spencer felt Aaron's scowl on him. "Dr. Spencer Reid is not only a member of my team but he is also my brother. I do not take his kidnapping lightly. I urge anyone with any information to come forward now. If my father has managed to watch this we need to speak to you. What do you want? This-"
Spencer jumped when the screen turned black suddenly. His eyes were wet as he looked at Ed's back. He swallowed thickly as the man stood up.
He paused in the doorway when Spencer spoke. "What do you want?"
Ed turned and saw Spencer's pale face looking back at him.
"I-I have their number. If you buy a-a-a disposable phone they uh... they won't be a-able to track you. Y-You can talk to them and-"
"And what?"
Spencer blinked, staring back at Ed's gruff expression. "Tell them what you want."
Ed wrinkled his nose and stood back thoughtfully. After a moment he spoke. "I want Aaron," he said.
"What?"
"You heard. I want Aaron. And heck, bring Sean too."
Spencer licked his lips nervously. "Why?" he whispered and he winced when Ed chuckled menacingly.
"I fancy a boat trip."
