They had always been forbidden from entering his office. And while Shizune always listened, Rin's curiosity would always get the better of her. Which ultimately had her getting scolded multiple times.

"You're not allowed in there!" Homura exclaimed angrily, closing and locking the door.

Ten year-old Rin was able to see something silver and shiny before the door cut her line of sight. Something that looked like a space suit…

Rin stirred awake, her brown eyes opening slowly. After several blinks, her vision cleared and she turned her head to find Obito in her room. He was leaning against the door, his right arm bent as he pressed several buttons on a small screen that was attached to his long-sleeve shirt. A small hologram appeared, showing an image of what Rin guessed was a map of the galaxy. He pressed some more, and the hologram changed image to focus on a specific planet.

"...Is that where we're going?" she asked, sitting up while groaning. She felt a slight ache on her forehead.

He looked at her, "Yes," he paused for a bit, and for once Rin noticed his face seemed more relaxed, "How are you feeling?"

"OK, I guess. Did you bring me here?"

"Yeah,"

"Thanks. Sorry for..uh...passing out like that…"

She worried that her fainting during take off would cause concerns with her performance. Based on the high level flight plan she saw, she knew that they would be visiting several planets. But each planet had a different gravitational pull and environment.

"It's fine," Obito said, opening the door to her room, "There are some sports drinks in the kitchen. They'll help,"

Rin thanked him, frowning as he left without saying anything else. Alone in her room, she thought about Obito and his change in personality. On one hand, he had brought her to her room and stayed until she had woken up. However, his answers were short and straight to the moment. As if he didn't want to do anything more with her. She remembered how he would walk her from one class to another, or join her during lunch. He was very sweet. She remembered how he became nervous around her right after she rejected him, and it broke her heart. But despite declining his offer, he had still been nice to her.

So what has happened since then? What changed him?

Once the spaceship reached optimal speed and its auto-pilot was on, the rest of the crew were by the middle floor. Specifically, in the training room.

Rin had been giving herself a tour of the ship, trying to become familiar with the layout and the different doors, when she heard the loud music coming from one of the rooms.

The door was slightly opened, and she gently pushed it open and watched as Kisame and Kakuzu were...fighting?

There were no weapons involved, just fists and kicks. Both men were the tallest amongst the group, probably around six feet three inches. Kakuzu threw Kisame over his shoulder before slamming him against the floor mat, and Rin gasped as Kisame groaned in pain. On the side, Hidan and Deidara were yelling and making bets. Hidan bet that Kakuzu, a long time friend of his, would win. While Deidara said that Kisame would win.

Despite being slammed against the mat, Kisame stood up immediately and tackled Kakuzu down. Kakuzu punched his back and side of his head, drawing blood.

As Sasori started counting down and Hidan and Deidars continued to shout for who they thought would win, Rin quickly ran to her room and grabbed her first-aid kit. Had she known that these grown men would be training in such a way, she would've required more supplies.

She re-entered the training room as Kisame and Kakuzu sat by Sasori, Zetsu, Hidan, and Obito. Deidara and Juzo were next. And as they fought, she walked over to the bloodied men. Kisame had a bloodied nose while Kakuzu had blood on his forehead.

"Let me clean that up," she stated, opening the small case and taking out some sponges.

She walked over to Kisame first, who actually smiled and thanked her. His personality made her happy. Aside from Zetsu, he was the second person to smile at her and be friendly.

"Thank you," he said, sitting still as she applied some rubbing alcohol on his nose and then placed a large bandaid on it, "Glad you're here to stitch us up!"

"You're welcome," she replied kindly, "Is this...normal? Is this how you guys train?"

"Yup," Kisame replied, "I know it looks bad, but it's really not as bad as you think. Maybe you can join? It'll help you with getting some basic fighting skills,"

Rin blinked surprisingly before shaking her head, "Oh no, I'm not a fighter. I'm just here to make sure you're all OK...and to learn more,"

"Oh come on!" Zetsu joined in, standing next to her, "It'll be fun, Rin! Whoever you fight won't be too rough on you,"

Rin wanted to believe him, but watching as Deidara's blonde hair had blood on top of his head and Juzo had blood on his knuckles, she only gulped.

"Obito and Hidan next up," Sasori stated, and both men walked over to the center.

Rin watched as Hidan removed his shirt and got into position, smirking as he raised his muscular arms. Obito gave him a slight smirk back, getting into position as well. Within seconds, both men attacked each other with strong force. Rin watched as Hidan twisted one of Obito's arms, only for Obito to grab him by the back of his neck and flung him over his shoulder. Despite the moves being violent, she couldn't help but admire Obito's fighting style. He didn't attack first, but did not hold back when doing the attack. Within minutes, both men had blood on their faces.

"Oi Rin, give me a bandaid!" Deidara called, causing her to flinch as she turned her head to the smirking blond. He raised his eyebrows at her, knowing that she had been observing Obito; and she cleared her throat while grabbing a bandaid from her case.

"Maybe you should go next since you've been staring," the blonde teased, and Rin shook her head.

"No thanks-"

"I already added her name!" Zetsu exclaimed, and Rin gaped.

"But I can't fight!"

"Ah, that's fine! Whoever you fight will go easy on you," Kisame added, drinking a bottle of water.

"Heck, you may even get lucky and fight Sasori. He's shorter than you,"

The others laughed as the red-haired man glared at Deidara. If she did have an option to fight anyone, it probably would be Sasori. He was at least an inch or two taller than her (and she was nearly five-feet and three-inches), and didn't seem too enthusiastic about fighting.

"Looks like Obito kicked his ass again," Kakuzu said, watching as Hidan groaned while walking towards them.

"Bastard almost broke my arm!" Hidan said, sitting next to Deidara and then glancing at Rin, "Oi, treat me too!"

"She can't," Zetsu said, "She's up next!"

Rin blinked and Hidan smirked at her, "Is she, now? Who's she fighting!?"

"I vote Sasori," Deidara said.

"Well, I can go for another round," Hidan said, giving her a smirk and Rin just looked away.

Zetsu pressed some buttons on his small tablet, "Well, I created a simple raffle and entered her name. She will be fighting….Obito!"

Rin's eyebrows raised as several in the team laughed. She turned her head to the captain, who was busy cracking his neck. His face showed no sign of bruising, which surprised her. She was certain that Hidan had punched him several times…

"Obito, get back out there!" Kakuzu yelled, "You're fighting the nurse!"

Rin's heart dropped as Obito opened his eyes and looked at her before walking back towards the center of the mat. She was about to speak up (she was not a fighter!) but Zetsu grabbed her by the back of her shoulders and pushed her outwards.

"Come on, Rin! Captain will go easy on you!"

Was he though? Rin looked up at Obito, seeing if there was any indication that he would go easy on her. He didn't seem angry or aloof. If anything, one side of his lips were slightly raised. As if...amused?

"Come on, start already!" Deidara yelled.

Rin took a deep breath, unsure of what to even do. She had never been in a fight.

"Just kick him in the balls!" Hidan yelled, and Rin wasn't sure if he was truly trying to help her or not.

But that didn't stop her eyes from traveling down his body. That area certainly was a weakness for all men. But she couldn't do that to Obito. Besides, this wasn't a lethal fight. She didn't want to hurt him (or cause any permanent damages).

"Start you two already!" Kakuzu said from behind.

"You got this Rin!" Zetsu cheered.

She turned around to give him a smile, ready to mouth a thank you at him when she suddenly felt something hit her ankles hard. It had been forceful enough to cause her to fall face down, her nose hitting the hard mat underneath and ache immediately. In addition she fell on her left arm, which pressed tightly against her breasts as she had fallen down.

Rin wasn't sure for how long she laid face down on the mat, her nose, arm, breasts, and ego bruised as she finally heard a mixture of laughter and yells.

"Wow, she really ate the floor!" Deidara laughed.

"More like the mat!" Hidan corrected, laughing next to him.

"It's OK Rin!" Kisame said, "We all fall!"

"...Just not that hard," Kakuzu said, a smirk on his face.

"Looks like she's in pain," Sasori added.

"Did you have to do it that hard, Obito?" Juzo asked.

Rin touched her nose and felt relief when no liquid came out. Nonetheless, it still ached. Her left breast hurt as well, as well as arm and ankle. Obito must've used his foot to kick her ankle from behind, causing her to fall face-forward. She got on a sitting position, her head lowered as she continued to touch her nose.

"...Is she going to cry?" Kisame asked, feeling a bit worried.

"Obito, you brute!" Hidan screamed.

Rin actually wasn't going to cry, but hearing Hidan and Kisame scold the captain made her wonder what she had ever done to cause him to hate her. And that made her eyes a bit watery.

"I wasn't trying to...shit," Obito groaned before getting on one knee in front of her, "Here, let me see-"

"I'm fine," she answered firmly, raising her head but not meeting his gaze, "I don't think I'm cut out for this. If you don't mind, I'll like to return to my room and research some things,"

Obito could only nod slowly. He extended his hand out, but she didn't take it while getting up. He watched her as she exited the room entirely.

She had been gone for almost two days. So when she finally received a call, Shizune ran towards the small device and picked it up. She expected a smiling Rin. A Rin with a bunch of stories already to share with her.

But when her sister's teary face first showed up on the screen, Shizune frowned.

"Rin, what's wrong!? Why are you crying? Did someone hurt you?"

Her sister sighed, nodding slowly, "Y-Yeah… There was some training today...I was sort-of dragged into it… Got to fight Obito and let's just say...he did not go easy..."

Shizune blinked confusingly. "Obito? Wait, you mean Obito Uchiha? The guy who's in love with you?"

"Same one. But I doubt he was in love with me, Shizune. He probably just... I don't know… Maybe wanted a one-night stand or something? You know how guys can be…"

"No Rin… He really was in love with you. Still may be! I remember Kakashi telling me. Even after you rejected him, Kakashi told me that Obito still wanted to try again! That he wanted to ask you out a second time. He was very persistent,"

"Really? I'm sorry, Shizune, but I find that hard to believe. He's barely said anything to me since I first joined his team. His team is an interesting bunch but at least they don't give me the cold shoulder. Obito, in the meantime, acts as if he wants nothing to do with me,"

"He was in a bad accident, according to what Kakashi also told me," Shizune said, "He didn't tell me how bad… but it was so bad that Dr. Chiyo used something highly controversial on him. Maybe that could've messed up some of his brain cells?"

"Or maybe he needs to get over the fact that I declined his offer. Had he been nicer from the start of this trip… I would've… I would've… you know...told him that I always liked him back and that I don't mind...giving it a try,"

Shizune smiled sadly at her, "Something else must've...changed him… I remember talking to him years ago and he was really sweet. Maybe dad scared him off?"

Rin's eyebrows raised, "I doubt it but...then again dad had a tight leash on us. Still does… by the way, how is he?"

"Very...Very...angry at you," Shizune said with a nervous giggle, "Rin, he's talked about hiring a search party to find you,"

"Wh-What? Ugh. I wish he would let me live. I'm an adult!"

"I know! I'm convincing him otherwise, even though I haven't told him that we keep in touch,"

"Thank you. Even though things are weird between me and Obito over here, I still don't want to go home. There's much more to see,"

"I'm sure there is. Maybe give him a call in a few weeks so he's reassured that you're OK?"

Rin nodded, "Will do. Thanks for covering for me, Shizune,"

Next day…

The first planet they landed at was similar to Earth in terms of vegetation and atmosphere. The only differences were the lack of humans and the fact that there were two suns. This made the weather hotter than usual.

"We should only be here for ten minutes. The temperature's going to increase by fifteen degrees every half hour," Sasori mentioned.

The spacecraft landed on a wide range of grass, its large doors opening. Rin, who wore black tights with a white long-sleeve t-shirt, stood by Zetsu as she surveyed the area. Kakuzu and Deidara acted quickly, running towards an area in order to start drilling. They were to collect an important underground mineral from the planet. The mineral, something Rin couldn't remember, could be used for their weapons.

As they worked to gather that, Rin took a walk and wowed at the beauty of the two suns next to each other. She had done some research before arriving on this planet. The planet, titled X13-B, had a variety of flowers growing. Several of those flowers could be used to make medicine.

She spotted the flowers several feet away, and walked towards them. Her ankle still ached from yesterday's terrible training session. Since then, she barely made eye contact with Obito.

"You're here for a reason, Rin," she reminded herself, using a small pocket knife to cut the thick stems of the flowers, "You're here for a journey. Not to fall in love,"

She placed several of the flowers in a small bag, smiling at how this was her first time on a different planet. She then grabbed her small radio device and began to take some pictures.

"Shizune, you're going to love these," she said out loud just as she felt a small tremor underneath her feet.

XxXxX

He had never wanted to hurt her, and cursed himself for making her fall like that. Obito knew that she would be a distraction. But at the same time, he enjoyed watching her beauty and listening to her angelic voice. The way she walked away and then proceeded to ignore him bothered him a lot. It bothered him so much that he had walked towards her room in the middle of the night and stood behind her door. He had wanted to apologize, but wasn't sure how to or where to start. And as a coward, had then walked away.

"So...what's the history between you and Rin?"

Obito turned to Juzo, who was looking at him, "What?"

"You and Rin," Juzo repeated, "What's up with you two? One minute you're looking at her like you're ready to eat her...the next you kick her ass during training… and now you won't stop staring at her,"

Obito sighed, "It's nothing,"

"Bullshit. And I'm not the only one who's been noticing. If you truly like her, why not talk to her? She's a nice girl,"

Obito shook his head, "I… no.. I've-"

He stopped talking as he caught a movement from underneath the ground. His eyebrows furrowed.

"Scan the ground underneath us for any life,"

"Why?"

"...I think I just saw the ground move,"

Juzo pressed several buttons, the screen suddenly showing moving objects. According to the computer scan, the objects were as large as twenty-feet in length and six feet in width.

"Shit… There's definitely something down here. More than one, actually!"

"Get everyone inside immediately and start the engines before those things come out of the ground," Obito said, getting up from his chair and grabbing a weapon.

"And where are you going?"

"To get Rin,"

XxXxX

Her watch beeped several times, reminding her that she had three minutes left before the ten-minute threshold. But as she stood up, the ground moved again and she stood still. There was a large bump about four feet away from her, and Rin's eyes widened as it began to move around her. It was creating a circle around her, as if trapping her in one spot. And she could only watch nervously, mentally calculating how high she would have to jump if she were to outrun it.

To her horror, the thing suddenly came out of the ground and faced her. Shaped like a worm, it rose at least ten feet above her. And even though Rin couldn't see any eyes on the awful creature, she could tell that it was looking at her. She moved back immediately, only to have the creature make a dreadful sound before rushing towards her.
