Percy

Annabeth sighed next to him, clearly distracted from her work. Percy rolled over on the couch, his math homework dangling from his hands.

"What's up?"

She blinked, "Hmm?"

"You're sighing a lot, and doing that thing with your nose you do when you're worried."

She did the thing with her nose, "I don't do anything when I'm worried?"

Percy grinned, reaching out to boop her nose. "You do that thing."

She swiped at his hand, "Dork… it's nothing."

"It's clearly something. Is it something you're not allowed to talk to me about?"

"Well," she chewed her lip. "Not necessarily? Just… I'm not sure it's my place to talk about it?"

Percy hummed, "Well, whatever you think is right."

She huffed and ran her hands through his hair.

"I want to talk about it, I just don't know if it's right. Someone came to me for advice about something and I'm concerned about it and it's been a bit and I don't know if he- they took my advice and… yeah…"

"I'm sure things will work out, you give wonderful advice."

Annabeth smiled down at him, "Yeah?"

"Yeah."

"Thanks, Percy."

"Anytime."

OO OO OO OO OO OO OO

"Okay."

Percy lifted his head at Annabeth's words.

"You know that thing I was worried about?"

Percy nodded.

"Well, literally everyone knows about it now, so I can tell you. Nico broke up with Will."

He blinked, "Nico was dating someone?"

Annabeth waved her hand, "Yeah, but Will and him… kinda weren't great together. Will didn't even ask him out, just started calling him his boyfriend. And Will is, was, his doctor. Do you know the issues with doctors dating their patients?"

Percy thought for a second, "Is it like teacher-student relationships?"

"Yes- well no, but kinda? Depends, do you mean college level?"

Percy shrugged.

"Well, it's ethically and kinda morally wrong to do is the jist of it. And Will wasn't treating him right as either his boyfriend or his doctor, so like, bad relationship."

Percy frowned, "Isn't Nico like thirteen? Why's he dating at thirteen?"

"Because Will decided they were dating."

"Wait, isn't Will like fifteen?"

Annabeth nodded.

"What."

"So yeah, he asked me about it and I gave him the moral and ethical stuff, and it ended in them breaking up."

Percy nodded slowly.

He didn't like the vibe of his little cousin dating his doctor who was two years older than him at such a young age.

"That's… well I'm glad they broke up. Maybe I should talk to him… Do you think he'd be comfortable with that?"

Annabeth shrugged, "I think he still looks up to you, so it might help for you to check on him."

Percy nodded slowly, "Thanks for telling me about it."

"Hey, Nico."

Nico paused, turning to Percy curiously.

"Percy," he nodded.

Percy wondered at the nervous look on Nico's face.

"Hey, I just wanted to see how you were doing. Wanna sit somewhere?"

Nico shuffled, "I was heading to get lunch."

Percy blinked, glancing behind him towards the dining pavilion, then towards the trees Nico was headed for.

"Mind if I join you?"

"I was… gonna shadow travel."

"Well, that's certainly always a weird feel," Percy paused. "Oh, are you not able to take others with yet? That's okay. We can talk later if you want, or not at all- I just wanted to check and see how you were doing."

Nico coughed, "No, I can uh, I can bring you along. Pizza okay?"

Percy grinned, "Pizza is great."

OO OO OO OO OO OO OO

Percy waved to Nico as he returned to his cabin. He was glad Nico was doing better. Will definitely didn't seem like a good match for him. And they'd been able to finally talk about the old crush and a bunch of their other problems.

It was good to get that out there, Percy was glad that they'd talked.

"Hey, Percy-"

He turned to see Will Solace standing there.

"Will," he said with a nod.

"Were you out with Nico?"

Percy pursed his lips, "I was having lunch with my cousin, yes."

"Did you shadow travel? Don't you know Nico isn't-"

"I'm gonna stop you there," Percy said firmly. "First off, you aren't his doctor anymore, you don't have a responsibility to his health. Second, he has a right to handle his health in whatever way he wants, and if wants to try to stretch his powers more than that's his right. Third, he was gonna do it anyways at least this way he had someone with him to make sure he was alright."

"Well if you care for him why would you let him hurt himself like that?" Will snapped.

"I care for him so I'm willing to let him live his life. If I think something is really bad for him I'll talk to him, but he's taking it easy and only doing what he thinks he can. You forcing your wishes on him aren't going to help him recover."

Percy paused, thinking over what else he wanted to say.

"And really, you shouldn't have been dating him in the first place."

"That's not for you to decide-"

"As a camp counselor here, I do have an opinion on one of the doctors dating a much younger patient of theirs, as his cousin I have an opinion on the older guy not treating him right. I don't approve. It's not appropriate and I'd thank you to not try to get with him again. There are plenty of people closer to your age."

Percy turned and left, leaving Will scowling at his back.

Hazel

Hazel settled in her seat with Nico at the small café in New Rome and leaned forward.

"So, what's happened with Will since you were last here."

Nico took a deep breath, "We broke up, or well, I broke up. With him. He wasn't happy about it."

Hazel nodded, quietly a bit relieved by the fact that they broke up. She didn't like how Nico had talked about Will, the boy didn't seem worthy of her little brother.

"So, what all happened?"

Nico started talking, telling her about his conversation with Annabeth and the subsequent time he spent by himself thinking things over. Then how Will had approached him and how he'd ended up breaking up with Will. How he kinda thought he needed a break from anything like a relationship.

Hazel listened closely, making sounds at the right moments and shaking her head at others.

"I'm glad that you broke up with him, I don't think he's any good for you. And anyways, you're too young for a boyfriend."

"You're literally only a little older."

"Just under a year!"

"Not that much older."

"Then you must be at least fourteen and a half before you date again, deal?"

He snorted, "Sure, deal."

"You should stay over for a few days," Hazel decided as she looked him over. "See the city, relax in the baths, that sort of thing. We haven't spent enough time together."

Nico smiled, "That sounds nice, where will I stay?"

"I'll talk to Reyna, but you can probably stay at my place. It's not that big, but it's got enough space for you to stay over."

"Sounds like a plan."

OO OO OO OO OO OO

Hazel tossed the drachma into the rainbow, "Show me Percy Jackson."

There was a brief shimmer and then Percy appeared.

He blinked, "Hazel, what's up?"

"Nico's visiting and I just wanted to see what's up at the camp, what with the boy he broke up with."

Percy hummed, fiddling with Riptide.

"Well, Chiron has pulled all the doctors to talk to them about doctor/patient relationships, and Will has to retake some ethics classes and have a supervisor for a bit to make sure it sticks."

Hazel nodded, "That sounds good. I'm glad it's being handled."

"Yeah, I had a brief talk with Will, he doesn't seem to realize there was anything wrong with his actions and… ugh."

She scowled, the boy had clearly not been good to Nico. She wasn't happy he wasn't getting a bigger punishment but… this would do she supposed.

"Well, thank you for looking out for Nico. And tell Annabeth I said thanks for giving him advice."

"Of course, I'll always look out for my cousins," Percy flashed her a smile. "How are you doing?"

Hazel relaxed, "Good, I'm heading to check with Reyna that Nico can stay over at my place and then going back to him. I sent Frank to spend some time with him while I'm out."

"Frank is good at comforting people."

"He's the best."

"Well," Percy stretched. "Don't let me keep you. Take care and have fun with Nico. I think he needs a break from Camp Half-Blood."

Hazel waved, "Will do. Talk to you later!"

Frank

Frank walked with Nico to the baths. Hazel had shoved Frank in and told him to go with Nico to the baths cause she had to meet with Reyna.

He wasn't sure why she needed to meet with Reyna, but most did view Reyna as the senior Praetor (cause she was).

Nico seemed happier than the last time Frank had seen him, so he was glad.

"So," Frank started. "How are you doing?"

Nico blinked, "Oh, I'm… I'm doing better. I broke up with my sorta-boyfriend-"

"Wait you had a boyfriend?" Frank interrupted.

Nico nodded, "Sort of. He didn't actually ask me out, but he said we were boyfriends so…"

"I see," Frank said slowly. "So, you're happier now that you broke up with him?"

Nico nodded, "Yeah, he… wasn't good for me."

Frank frowned in concern, "Well I'm glad you broke up with him then."

Nico nodded, "Me too."

"I can't imagine why someone dating you wouldn't treat you well, I mean, you're really cool."

Nico scuffed his foot, "Most think I'm creepy."

"Their loss," Frank said confidently. "You're super smart, an ambassador at like, what, twelve? You're an amazing fighter, and you can raise the dead. Who wouldn't think you're amazing?"

Nico shuffled, ducking his head with slightly warm cheeks.

"Thanks."

"Really, if you ever decided to give dating a try, I'd like to think people would be lining up to date you! You're a big catch!"

Nico snorted, "Really though, I think I'm gonna avoid dating for a bit."

"That makes sense," Frank hurried to assure him. "You're young anyways, makes sense to take time to just live your life. There's no rush."

"Right, I've got lots of time to figure things out."

Frank nodded, "Oh, here's the baths, you've been here before, right?"

"Yeah."

"Great, then let's have a nice bath and talk about fun stuff, like mythomagic!"

Nico flushed, "Nooo, who told you about that-"

OO OO OO OO OO OO OO

Reyna

Reyna smiled at Nico when she caught his eye after lunch.

"Nico, how are you?"

Nico grinned, "I'm okay. It's good to see you again."

"It is, it's been too long."

She motioned for him to walk with her as she led the way to a coffee shop.

"So, what's been going on since we last talked, my how long ago was that? Over a month ago?"

Nico nodded, "Not much has happened I think. I got a boyfriend, decided I didn't like him or how he treated me, and broke up with him."

Reyna blinked, "You got a boyfriend? Who? What did he do? How did he treat you? What's his name and address?"

Nico snorted.

"His name is Will Solace, he's fifteen and he's one of the doctors at camp. Uh, he was my doctor-"

"Wait, your doctor was your boyfriend?"

Reyna was not amused. That was blatantly against the doctors code of ethics.

Nico winced, "Yeah, I didn't realize that was a problem."

"It's a good thing you broke it off, not only is he a doctor which has all kinds of issues, but he's also two years older and you're thirteen."

"Well, Hazel and Frank are about two years apart and it's fine for them, right?"

Reyna waved her hand, "They're closer to one year apart, just two right now until Hazel's birthday. And they knew each other for a while first, when they were clearly one year apart. So, it's not nearly as much of a problem. Though if I thought Frank was taking advantage of her I would step in."

Nico nodded slowly, "I suppose that makes sense. It's not like they do much more than hold hands."

Reyna smirked, "Hazel kissed Frank's cheek once I believe. I don't think they've done much more than that."

Nico laughed.

"But yeah, I'm glad you two broke it off. If you want I can fight him for you? Make sure he knows that he can't get away with treating you badly."

Nico shook his head, a small smile on his face.

"It's fine. We're broken up and I don't really resent him just… I'm not comfortable with him and don't really want to be around him."

Reyna placed her hand on his shoulder, "I understand. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you."

Nico flashed her a smile, "Thank you, I appreciate it."

"Now then," she clapped her hands. "I do believe ice cream is the traditional break up food so lets go get some!

Jason

I sat with Nico at the McDonalds near my campus.

"So, how are things? How's Camp Half Blood? How's your boyfriend? I heard you got one and I think it's great you can be yourself! Gay Pride!"

Jason ate a french fry.

"Really I'm really proud of you, stepping out there, being yourself without letting anyone get in your way, and people are supportive of it which is great! I'm super happy for you."

Nico opened his mouth, then paused.

Jason quickly moved to reassure him, "Seriously I'm glad, I wasn't worried at all of course, I was positive everyone would be supportive but I know that things can be mixed up at times and anyways I'm just happy you found someone you're happy with-"

"I broke up with him," Nico interrupted.

Jason paused for a second, "And anyways he wasn't worth your time."

Nico snorted.

"So uh," Jason nibbled on a chicken nugget. "What's happened?"

Nico poked his meal.

"Well, he uh, he was my doctor which apparently is ethically wrong. And um, on top of that he just… wasn't super nice to me. I didn't like how he treated me, it's not what I want in a partner."

Jason nodded solemnly, "Makes sense. I'm glad you broke it off then. I never liked the guy anyways."

Nico's lips twitched.

"Well that means I gotta be your wingman! Find someone that's actually worth your time. What's your type? Dark hair? Light hair? Tall? Short?"

Nico laughed, "That's not necessary."

"Aww, how am I supposed to be your wingman if I don't know who to find for you?"

Jason grinned as Nico snickered at him. He was glad Nico was smiling.

"Really, it's not necessary, though I appreciate it. I'm uh, I'm not looking to date anyone. And… I don't think I'm quite as over Percy as I want to be."

Jason blinked, "I mean I could set you up with him-"

"No!" Nico said quickly. "I mean, really, you're great, I appreciate it. But I think I jumped into this too fast. I want to get over my crush, he has a girlfriend he really loves. I want to have some time for myself, just… living."

Jason nodded, "I understand. Then let me know what I can do to help!"

Nico smiled, "Just being my friend is enough. Thank you. I'm glad I have friends like you guys."

"Of course," Jason said. "We'll always be here for you."
