New Horizons

Disclaimer: I do not own PJO or its characters

AN: This idea came out of no where and working with this format was kinda fun. Also this story will feature some mental issues and how people react to those situations. I hope y'all enjoy this and let me know what you think. I am already close to done with second chapter and this should only be about 3 chapters with the next chapters being a little longer. Also I tried to keep it as realistic as possible and any questions just ask. Enjoy!

For the first time in a long time Percy was scared. He was scared of the unknown and what was about to come. He didn't know if his time was up and he was about to see his uncle again or he was going to be captured. No he wouldn't be. He would put a bullet in his head before he allows that to happen.

He looked to his right noticing one of his soldiers laying there, emotionless, and staring right at him with wide open eyes. The pale face was covered with dirt and blood with a gaping hole in the side of his head. He wanted to weep for the man. He looked to his left where another man was only this one was alive. He was currently freaking out. He was young so Percy could understand him. He was once like that, in the beginning.

The younger man was covered in blood and dirt as well. The blood staining his clothes. Percy didn't know if it was the boy's blood or another's. Right now though he had other issues. His commanding officer was dead, so was the second officer. He was in charge now with him being the highest enlisted.

He doesn't know how it came to this. It was a simple extraction. Take the HVT and escort him back to the Israli military, there wasn't supposed to be a firefight in between that. It was an ambush that was the only explanation.

The son of Poseidon could hear gunfire, hell he could see it going above his head, he saw the explosions of mortar and RPG fire. He heard yelling over the coms. It was so loud. His ears were ringing. But he had a job to do. With shaky hands the man took out the magazine to his rifle and checked to see if he had rounds left. With an affirmative on still having a good magazine, he turned and aimed his rifle at the approaching ISIS members.

He looked down at his sight and fired.

LINE BREAK

It was just a normal day for Percy. He woke early, around 4 o'clock in the morning, got dressed and went for a run around the city. He got back an hour and half later to start his morning workout. By the time he had breakfast it was already 8 am so he decided to go out for a walk around Central Park to clear his head before his lunch date with his mom and sister while Paul was working. Maybe they should bring him something.

After his walk, Percy took a seat in a popular area. It overlooked people doing activities such as sports, playing with their animals, and mothers playing with their children. Percy had to smile at the scene. Though he hated always being alone, and hadn't dated anyone in the last 10 years, he knew it was for the best to be alone. He didn't want anyone to have the heartache of seeing him deploy and may not come back.

He was lost in thought when he felt a weight land on him and spill his coffee everywhere.

"Sorry! Sorry!" He looked at the voice that was originating in his lap and was shocked at what he found.

The voice belonged to a woman, a very beautiful one. She had brown hair that was braided and down her back. Her face was soft with full lips, long eyelashes, and a natural tan. Through her eyes stood out to Percy the most. They were grey but more like a blue-gray that the sky turned right before a storm. They were beautiful in his eyes. The calm before the storm.

"It is okay." He said in a calm voice, helping her up.

"You sure?" She looked him up and down. He noticed she was about to his chest in height and he stood at 6'4". "I mean that was really embarrassing and your coffee was spilt everywhere."

"All good accidents happen." He smiled at the woman in front of him. He took notice of her body. Her clothes hugged her form showing off the muscle in her arms and legs. He looked similar to the girls at camp that trained for years.

"I can buy you another one?" She asked with a hopeful voice.

"No it is okay." Percy looked at his watch noticing it was already 10 am. "I actually got to go meet my family for lunch. It was nice meeting you…"

"Enora. My name is Enora." She took out her hand for him to shake.

"Percy." He shook her hand. He noticed the squeeze she gave. She definitely had muscle. "Well I got to go. Hope you have a great day." Percy cut it short.

"You do the same." She said as he walked off. What he didn't notice was the intense stare she gave to his back and was watching him until he disappeared.

LINE BREAK

Once his magazine ran dry Percy ducked back down in the hole he was in. He was in the middle of reloading his rifle, when he turned to his squad mate to his left. The younger man looked to be praying as he did the same as Percy.

"Rogers! Rogers!" The boy wasn't hearing Percy. So he grabbed his shoulders roughly, making the boy drop his rifle out of shock. "Rogers look at me!"

"Yes, Chief?" The boy came out of his shock state.

"I need you here. This is not the time to freak out." Gunfire was still heard through the open desert.

"Yes Chief!" With an affirmative nod did Percy believe him.

"I need you to tell me how many of our men do we still have!"

"But Chief, Shouldn't that be for-"

"Stevens is gone! So is Johnson!" Percy told the boy, while the boy's face fell realizing both officers were gone. "I need to know who we have left!" Percy had to yell over the constant gunfire.

"Right, Right." Rogers looked over the Chief's shoulder seeing one of his squadmates dead. "I saw Mitchum on the 50 in the Humvee. Corbin and Rodrigues are over there in that dug out." He pointed right behind Percy. "Swanson is on the hill up there trying to get the high ground and last I saw McMillian was trying to get out of the second Humvee when we got hit. I don't know if he made it. I don't know about the others."

That wasn't good. That left six for sure still fighting including him, three confirmed dead, and leaves seven unaccounted for. He heard shouting over the coms.

"Listen up! This is Otter 0-2!" The comms went silent though the action kept going. Everyone knew that Percy was on the comms after using his callsign. "Stevens and Johnson are gone and so is Michaels! I can confirm Rogers with me. I need to know who still is here." Silence.

"Rodriques is here, sir! Corbin is here but he is hit in the shoulder!"

"Swanson here. I am up the hill a bit."

"Fisher here! I got bad news." There was a slight pause. "Lovett didn't make it." Shit. That confirms 4 dead.

"Mitchum. I'm on the 50. On the 3rd Humvee!" The gunfire from it could be heard over everything.

"Miller! I got Martin and Lee with me! Lee got hit in the leg. I think it missed the artery though."

"Chief!" It was McMillian. You could hear his distinct accent over the radio. "Im hit. Went between the plates. Baker is gone as well!"

"Fuck!" Percy exclaimed to himself. "Where is the HVT?"

"He got hit with Baker." McMillian let out a groan over the radio. "I am pinned down, sir. I won't be able to get out of here."

"I am not letting that happen." Percy said to the man. This is when the leader of him came out. "Swanson, do you have a good sight on Mcmillian?"

"Yes, Chief!" There was a pause. "Two fighters moving on the Humvee. I don't know if I can get a clean shot at this angle."

"Can you move to a higher point?" Swanson was their best when it came to long range shooting.

"Yes though I will be exposed for a bit." That was a problem.

"Alright. Stay put for now. Rodrigues how is Corbin?" Rogers was now providing more fire.

"Corbin will make it though it is hard to move his shoulder." Was the quick reply.

"Fisher, are you in a good spot to provide cover fire?"

"Yes, Chief! But I can spot some fighters moving on Miller and the others." He can work with that. They were in the 4th Humvee but they moved closer to the front when Percy's was hit. Which would allow Mitchum to help them.

"Swanson, where is the main fire coming from on your position?"

"The left side of the Humvees. Closer to Rodrigues and Corbin, sir."

"Alright. I got an idea." Radio silence allowed him to speak. "On my mark, Rodrigues and Corbin as well as Rogers and I will fire at the left side to cover Swanson. Fisher if you see any change from the fighters let me know and if any try to flank take them out. Mitchum I need you to support Miller by firing onto the fighters moving onto them and push them back. Am I clear?"

"Yes, Sir!" Was the combined response he got.

"Good. On three…"

LINE BREAK

Percy was enjoying his break before his next deployment. It was a few days after the incident at the park when he had his next run in with Enora.

He just came out of a dog store after picking something up for Mrs. O'Leary. When he wasn't on deployment she stayed with him in his decent sized condo in lower Manhattan. It was a gift from his father on his 18th birthday when he came back from basic. Not many knew about it in fact only his family did and his friends that he met in the military. He hasn't spoken to anyone from camp in years well except for Reyna. Though that was different. Anyways he was on his way back to his condo, that his oversized dog was, though lately she has hidden her appearance as a wolf-dog. Though that still allowed her to be bigger than most breeds and to keep the look similar to that of a hellhound. Percy loved his Mrs. O'Leary to say the least.

He wasn't paying attention going around the corner when he bumped right into someone. Out of instinct he caught the person and studied them. He could tell it was a female by the smaller body and the even smaller arms he grabbed a hold of. Once he knew she was safe from falling he let go and couldn't believe his eyes.

In front of him was the same woman that literally fell in his lap at the Park couple of days ago. Though this time she did not look nearly as happy. He could see why. Her once white, spotless dress shirt had a brown stain in the middle and there was a now empty cup on the ground.

"Shit! I am so very sorry!" He sounded very apologetic. "I wasn't paying attention coming around the corner."

"Clearly YOU-" Whatever was going to be said was stopped when she finally looked up and noticed who she ran into.

"I think I am the embarrassed one now." Percy started rubbing the back of his neck. "I am so sorry again."

"It is okay. Accidents happen right?" She asked with a smirk, repeating what he said to her. "I guess this makes us even."

"Haha I guess it does." Percy could feel his cheeks a little flush.

"Don't worry about it." The woman, Enora, he remembered, looked at her wrist where an expensive watch was. "Shoot. I won't have time." She said to herself.

"Time for what?" She shot him a smile. He was cute when he was embarrassed she thought.

"I got a meeting in an hour and I won't have time to get home to get a new shirt and get back down here." She said. Clearly it seemed she lived in upper Manhattan.

"This may sound weird but my condo is right down there." He pointed behind her. "We can get that cleaned up and send you on your way. That way you won't be late." He can't believe he asked a complete stranger that. He sounded like a serial killer you see on those shows. He knew she would say no.

"If you insist." That completely baffled Percy. "If that is alright?"

"Totally!" He said with a smile and got a smile back.

"Percy right?" She asked him before they left.

"Yes, Ma'am." He said with a smile. "Enora if I am correct."

"You would be." She looked at the man in front of her. He was built. His jet black hair was cut in an undercut fade with the sides cut to the skin and the hair on top not long at all. He was taller than her as she was only to his chest. He was heavily muscled but in the swimmer way. His face was hardened and you could see the outline of his jaw with high cheekbones. There was a neatly trimmed beard that made the man look older. His eyes were like the sea, they were so similar to his fathers' she noticed, they combined blue and green beautifully. His skin was tanned as if he was always at the beach. His clothes covered his body. A jacket covered his arms, hiding the scars from the wars he has been in. She knows this. "Lead the way."

"Alright.." The soldier led her towards his condo to get her shirt clean. As they walked, they talked about things to get to know one another. She learned he was a soldier in the military, specifically the Navy, but never said what his job was. He learned she worked for a company that assists the department of homeland security, though she did not go into much detail.

While the shirt was being cleaned they talked to get to know one another. Percy was happy he could connect with the woman. Lucky it wasn't awkward with what the situation was. They exchanged numbers before she left with the promise to talk more.

For once in the past 10 years he felt happy that there was a connection with someone.

Percy was 27 when he first met Enora. Little did he know the impact she would have on his life.

LINE BREAK

"Swanson, can you spot McMillian?" Percy asked once his older friend got into a better vantage point.

"Yes, sir!" Lucky for them the motors seemed to stop but the gunfire did not let up. If they didn't watch their shots they would surely run out of ammunition. "The fighters are slowly approaching the second Humvee. If we are going to do anything we need to move now!"

"Alright." Percy only had a second or two to think. "Swanson, I need you to fire on them when you see the signal. Fisher move back towards Rodrigues and Corbin, while they cover you. Mitchum how much more rounds for that MG?"

"Not much, Chief!" The burly man let out. "But I still got plenty for the SAW." That was good. If he can count on anyone it was that man. He was built like an ox and hit just as hard.

"Good. Miller are you guys okay? Can y'all move?"

"No, Chief. If we try to make a run for it we will get gunned downed." That was a big problem. There had to be a solution.

"Percy." Martin's voice came through. He was one of Percy's closest friends having been through BUDS together. "It isn't looking good. Lee is losing blood and most likely won't walk well. We need support and now!"

"Hold in there, Martin!" Percy said through the radio. "McMillian, are you still with us?"

"Yes...but I can't feel my legs." That was a kick to the balls. He most likely got hit in the spine.

"Shit!" He heard over the comms. But Percy was thinking of what he should do so he didn't know who said it.

When they got hit the fourth Humvee moved to the front which allowed Percy to run back to get in cover. He was the only one to make it out it seems. Luckily for them though the vehicle was long ways allowing them to hide in greater cover. If McMillian was in the second, He knows Baker would have moved off to the right like they trained to widen the gap in case of an explosion to not allow as many casualties. He knows that Mitchum was in the back with the 50 cal. He knows he can see Miller and the others so he must have it positioned on the left side. This gives him an idea.

"Fisher are you with Rodrigues?"

"Yes, sir." Good.

"Alright. This is what is going to happen." Percy took a breath. "I am going to need covering fire. I am going to meet up with Mitchum, there we will push towards Miller and the others. Once we can get there we have to push the fighters back and when we do that we move towards McMillian. Swanson I need you to cover McMillian. Don't let anyone get close to that Humvee. Rodrigues, Corbin, and Fisher cover me and Mitchum when we push towards Miller. There is no room for mess ups here and watch your shots. Does everyone understand?"

"Yes, sir!" Was the combined answer.

"Sir, What do you want me to do?" Rogers asked from Percy's left.

"You have the most important job." Percy said mentally reading himself to do something crazy. "I need you to get on the comms and let the command know what happened. Tell them I am in charge and that we need reinforcements as soon as possible."

"Yes, Chief." The boy stated.

"Good." Percy turned over after checking his gear. He was in the climbing position readying to climb the hole he was in. Right now he wished his powers would help him someway but what good is a son of Posiedon in the desert. "Everyone ready?"

With conformation Percy's plan was put in motion.

LINE BREAK

Percy wasn't feeling good about his next deployment. Most would think he wouldn't feel good about any of them having a high chance he might get killed but that wasn't what had him worried. It was the sense of dread that something bad was going to happen this time. The last time he felt like this was when they went off to fight Gaia all those years ago.

He was worried for his team and actually scared what the future may hold. He was a week away before leaving. He was spending the week with Enora. Usually he spent it with his mom, sister, and step-dad but they were on vacation for the week. So he wanted to spend that time with his girlfriend of five years now.

He found out so much about her in the last few years together. She was a daughter of two greek parents that wanted what was best for their daughter and had her come to the Americas for school. She stayed in the state's sense, she visited once a year though usually when Percy was on deployment. He found she loved animals, especially Mrs. O' Leary (He believes she loves Mrs. O'Leary more than him), she was very active with getting up in the mornings with him to workout, and she never stepped away from a challenge. Most of the time they had a friendly challenge; it would not be so friendly by the end (Percy swears Enora takes a liking to his pain).

He was currently waiting for her in their shared room. She moved in with him after a year of dating. It was a lot of fun times with her and allowed Percy to take his mind off his job. He has been a SEAL team member for 15 years now and honestly he has loved it. The people he has met were some of the best people he has ever served with. His CO was only a few years older than him and guided Percy when he first joined SEAL team 2. Though when he joined Austin was only the second in command, but when Davis got a promotion with being in charge of the SEAL team headquarters Austin moved up.

He loved his team. Though Samuel "Sammy" Martin was his best friend. They have been through thick and thin. They were 2 of the 10 men that graduated from BUDS training together. They knew one another pretty well. Though he didn't know about Percy's godly side, he liked to keep that hidden after leaving it all behind. While Martin was his best friend, Austin Stevens was his mentor. Though all were his brothers.

They just recently found out they are getting a new guy, Justin Rogers (There was a missed opportunity Percy thought). This was going to be his first deployment as a SEAL and as Chief of the platoon, Percy had the luxury showing the kid around. That was going to be fun. Though being Chief was an awesome experience from him. He was younger than some when he received the promotion with only being in for 10 years, he received it after meeting Enora (he could still hear her and his mother's applause and cries of joys), when usually it takes 13 years to get it. Though that wasn't always the case, Chris Kyle did get his promotion and he was only in for 10.

That thought really had him a little upset about the man or "The Myth" some called him. He never got a chance to meet the man.

At the moment though Percy was lost in thought holding an engagement ring in his hands. He wanted to propose but it didn't feel like it was the right time.

"Babe! I'm home!" He heard Enora's voice ring throughout the condo.

"In the bedroom, give me a second!" Percy called back. He silently hid the ring in his dresser and put other things over it. Mrs. O'Leary ran out the room towards the voice.

When Percy walked into the living room to be greeted by his girlfriend being attacked by his hellhound while trying to stay standing with bags on her arms. It was a funny sight to be seen.

"Little help, please?" The brunette woman asked.

"Nah. I think I will just watch you struggle." Percy laughed at her expression of horror as he walked over taking the groceries away from her. This allowed her to give the oversized dog the attention she wanted. "How was work?" He asked to put the groceries up.

"It was…" She took a minute to find the right work. "Annoying."

"Oh? How so?"

"Well we had a meeting today and it took way too long." As they talked Enora was taking off her dress coat and her high heels. "As the boss was talking he kept getting interrupted by Adam and Henry today."

"Honestly, I am surprised he has allowed them to stay this long since those are usually the two to cause trouble." He never met the two men, though he hasn't met a lot of people from her job, she was always talking about their annoying and playful natures.

"I know. But they are good at what they do." At this point Mrs. O'Leary was laying on the floor next to the couch as Enora walked around the bar towards Percy in the kitchen.

"Anything else?" Percy turned towards the approaching woman with a small smile on his face.

"Eh not much but guess who got into a fight today." The woman was standing across from Percy now. While he leaned his back on the fridge, she leaned on the counter. Both just looked at each other with smiles and longing looks.

"Hmm Archy and Harry again?"

"You would be correct." The woman moved closer to the man hugging him. Percy hugged her tightly and Enora loved the natural smell of the sea off him. After five years she couldn't help but fall in love with the man. "So I was thinking for dinner we can eat in and rent a movie. How would that sound?" She looked up at the taller man, still wrapped in his arms.

"I think that is perfect." A loud bark echoed off the walls of the condo. "I think Mrs. O'Leary would agree also." He kissed the woman and gave as much love as he could into the kiss. "Just no chick flicks."

"Please. When would I ever choose a romance movie over a good action?" Enora gave out a laugh.

"You are right." They looked at each other in the eyes once more before letting go allowing Percy to open the fridge to see what were their options. "So what are we feeling tonight? Asain? Italian?"

"Greek?" This had Percy turning around and Enora giving him a knowing smirk. This only caused the man to laugh.

"So moussaka?"

"That sounds great." The grey eyed female patted the man on the back a few times. "I am going to go clean up. You got this?"

"Yes, ma'am." Enora laughed as the man was looking for the frying pan.

"Bottom left cabinet."

"Oh, Thanks!" He said closing the top right one. She left him to get dinner ready.

Percy could feel the water running down the hall knowing Enora just turned the shower on. He tried not to use his powers much anymore. He only wished to use them if he was in dire need for his or his team's survival and only then he made sure they wouldn't notice. Say if their boat somehow was speeding down a river to get away from the enemy a lot quicker, it isn't very noticeable, more of a mechanical accomplishment. But he could still feel when water was moving around him. It also helped with not being as noticeable towards monsters.

Though not many monsters have come after him in the last few years. In fact he hasn't had a monster attack since he graduated his BUDS training. But he shouldn't be thinking too much. He had dinner to make.

As he was getting the ingredients ready on the counter, luckily with his girlfriend being native Greek, there was always a good supply of ingredients for greek cuisine. He put some oil into the pan and turned the heat on the stove. He turned to cut some potatoes and prepare them but he failed to notice that he hit the frying pan's handle with his butt when he turned causing it to fall to the floor. When a loud bang came from the ground, it caused Percy to stop mid chop.

"Percy! You okay?" The voice of Enora entering the living room allowed her to see a frozen Percy standing in the kitchen. She saw a knife in hand and a far away look in his eyes. She knew whatever fell caused the man to go back in himself. She knew he had a form of PTSD, even if he didn't want to admit it. She didn't want to touch him, not wanting him to react badly, so she allowed Mrs. O'Leary to go up to him first by rubbing against his leg. This allowed him to come back to the present. "Are you okay?" She softly asked him.

"Yeah…" The man shook his head, clearing it. "...I must have hit the frying pan when I turned around."

"Anything you want to talk about?" She was speaking softly as he started cleaning the mess of oil on the tile floor.

"No…" He always went back into himself when he had an episode. "I am all good."

"I am here for support." The hellhound, disguised as a wolf-dog, let out a whine. "So is Mrs. O'Leary."

"I know." He looked up at her while he was crouched. He noticed she was in one of his shirts that was oversized for her. He could see her toned and muscled legs and could still feel the water flowing in the bathroom. She must have not got in yet, she must have ran back when she heard the pan fall. She was worried for him. "You better go wash up or we might skip dinner and go straight for dessert." He cockily said. That was the lovable and goofy Percy she knew.

"Don't threaten me with a good time!" She called out going back to the bathroom.

Percy only chuckled getting back to work when he looked down and saw Mrs. O'Leary giving him a look.

"What?" He asked her. She only stared at him. "I wish I could talk to you and not just horses and sea creatures." She stared longley at the meat on the counter. "Fine. Don't tell Enora." He gave some of the meat to the oversized puppy. Luckily she was a mythological creature and he didn't have to cook the food first.

LINE BREAK

The plan was going smoothly, well smooth as one could get while in a firefight with what seemed like an endless stream of ISIS fighters. Where the hell were they coming from? That is what Percy was thinking as his team was pinned down behind the second Humvee. Lee was able to get up even on a bad leg, adrenaline did wonders, Miller and Martin were near the back laying down fire as Lee was shooting the feet of the fighters under the vehicle (He was one smart man) and Mitchum was using his machine gun to spray at the enemy. The engine block was protecting him thankfully. Percy was next to McMillian to see what the damage was. He saw the others, Swanson and Rodrigues' group, trying to help by shooting their way.

"Where did you get hit exactly?" Percy asked Mitchum over the gunfire.

"Right here." He pointed to a hole that was around his stomach, it was right between his plated armour.

"I need to check your back." With a nod the older man tried to move. He was only a few years older than Percy but he joined later. Percy pushed the man forward and could hear a groan come out of the man. What he saw wasn't good. It looked as if the bullet hit his spine in the lower part of his back. It wasn't a pretty sight. "We got a problem."

"What is it?" Martin asked during his reload.

"He is hit, through and through, but the bullet hit his spine coming out. He won't be able to walk." Percy let out watching his best friend's face fall.

"Just leave me. I will only be dead weight for you guys." McMillian let out through rugged breath.

"Shut up!" Percy said to the man. "I will never leave one of you guys behind." Percy looked around at the little group.

"Chief-" McMillian was cut off.

"You got kids at home and a happy wife and I will be damned if I have to hand your flag over to them." Even after the hell they are going through Percy was positive they would make it out of here. "Is that understood?" The man gave Percy a look.

"Yes, sir."

"Good." Percy grabbed his radio. "Swanson, how are we looking?"

"You want the truth?" The man paused. He didn't need confirmation. "They are trying to flank our right. They are moving their forces over. I can see more coming. And I am running low here."

"Same here, Chief." He heard Fisher over the radio. That wasn't good at all.

"What is our next move?" Martin asked him. He looked tired and worse for wear. All Percy had to do was give him a look and the man knew that their leader had no idea what to do. Hell no one did.

Though something happened and it seemed someone was helping them. Call it divine intervention. The ISIS fighters stopped advancing and turned and ran off. The SEAL team had no idea why but they didn't have much time.

"What the hell?" Percy heard Mitchum exclaim.

"What is it?"

"They are running. Just leaving." The big man said.

"They are changing their tactics. Regrouping." Percy knew all too well what that tactic these insurgents use.

"If we are going to move. We need to do it now!" Martin exclaimed.

"Alright." Percy looked around real quick. "Millar help me lift Mcmillian. Lee, can you move on your own?"

"I can but it will hurt like a bitch." The Japanese-American exclaimed.

"Alright Martin, support Lee. Mitchum cover our flank." Percy got on McMillian's left side, putting the man's arm over his shoulder to support him. "Ready? Move?"

The group was moving towards the hole that Rogers still was. It was bigger than Rodrigues and allowed more to fit there. All was going smoothly, somewhat, and they were about 10 feet away when the gunfire started back up. This time they were not so lucky. Martin got hit twice, with one hitting him in his right leg and another through his ribcage. He dropped fast.

"Martin!" Percy yelled out still having McMillian on his shoulders, his feet dragging on the hot sand.

"Chief we are sitting ducks!" Mitchum said. So Percy had to keep going and get his men into cover. Once he made it into the hole everyone sort of fell in to escape the gun fire. But Percy looked over the bump to see Martin was still moving.

"I got to go get him." Percy said.

"Are you crazy?!" Miller yelled at him.

"No man shall be left behind on my watch." Percy said tightly. He then turned to Rogers who was trying to talk to command on their satellite radio. "What is the word on reinforcements?"

"15 mins out!" Rogers said.

"That is too long." Percy grabbed the radio "Command this is Chief Petty Officer Percy Jackson, with SEAL team 2, callsign Otter 0-2. I need reinforcements in my area as soon as possible! We are getting slaughtered out here!"

"This is Command, Otter 0-2. Israli troops are on the way." Was the voice that came through.

"I need some close air support!" Percy yelled back. "These fucks look as if they are bringing their whole army!"

"We can not-" They got cut off.

"I will not let my platoon die today." Percy said with authority. "I don't care what needs to be done. But we already lost our two officers and we NEED some air support right about now."

"We are scrambling some fighters now." The voice cut through. "They will be there in five minutes. Use your green smoke for targeting."

"Affirmative." Percy handed back the radio. He looked towards Martin's position. "I need you guys to cover me. I am not letting another one of yall die out here." With that Percy ran right into enemy gunfire. It felt as if he ran miles to get to his best friend. When he did he saw he was still breathing though barely conscious.

"Martin look at me!" That got the darker skin man to look at his friend.

"What are you-"

"Hold onto my arms." That was when Percy started to drag the man back. But as both men made it do back, Percy was shot in his side propelling him backwards. "Fuck!"

"Chief, you good?" Miller picked the blacked haired male up and sat him up.

"I'm good." Percy checked his watch. 4 minutes left. "I need you guys to grab Martin and McMillian and get the fuck out of here." That shocked everyone.

"What are you-" Mitchum was cut off.

"I am going to pop the smoke here and take these bastards with me." Percy took out the smoke canister. "I need you guys to leave."

"No we can't do that!" Martin said. "I am not leaving you Perce."

"That is an-" Percy got cut off.

"I don't care." Martin groaned out when he shifted around. "I am not telling your mother or Enora how you sacrificed yourself like an idiot. I am not leaving you alone."

"You-" It seemed Martin wasn't done.

"I am dead weight. I can barely move let alone fight. If you are going down here so am I." Martin grabbed his rifle that was strapped to him. "Through thick and thin. That was the promise." Percy knew he couldn't fight his friend. He was just stubborn like that. Of course they both had to come from New York.

"Fine." Percy turned to his men. "Mitchum you are in charge. I need you to take the men and get them to that village 2 klicks behind that hill." He pointed behind his men, the same hill Swanson was on. Everyone could hear the pain in Percy's voice even through the radio. "There it will be safe. Get out of here. You have families to get back to and I will not let my Platoon die."

"Percy we are not-" All formalities were dropped it seemed.

"Go! That is an order or so help me I will court martial every single one of y'all for not listening to your commander!" Percy was pissed at the situation. Everyone stood around him and Martin. Rodrigues' group and Swanson were quiet. "Go! Now!"

"It was a pleasure...sir." Mitchum said for everyone. He looked around "Come we need to go. Rogers helps Miller carry McMillian, who was silent through the whole ordeal, Rodrigues gets your ass back with Corbin and Fisher. Swanson gave us some cover to move back."

"We got your back!" Martin let out looking at Percy.

"Go!" With that the rest of the soldiers moved back towards that village Percy pointed out.

Leaving Percy and Martin alone with an advancing enemy. They knew the jets would get there soon but don't know how soon. They could tell the enemy was advancing on them.

"So when were you going to tell me you were a demigod?" Martin asked Percy through clenched teeth. Pain was evident. Percy knew he was going to die. He could feel the blood in his body and knew the damage that happened. It was a slow death.

"What?" Percy asked.

"Percy. I am not blind. I have seen you do some incredible things and I know for a fact that Mrs. O'Leary isn't a normal dog. I mean she is massive." That must mean he was clear sighted. "I remember our training, how everytime we were in or around the water it seemed you were stronger and far more aware."

"How long?" Percy was getting his rifle ready and making sure it was loaded while Martin did the same, though he was struggling a bit.

"I didn't know fully until I visited you in New York that one time and your dad was there." Martin let out a groan as he shifted. "I could believe that your dog was just naturally big and that you seemed to wake up more around the water, but I could see your dad actually glow and I knew something was up."

"So you thought he was a god because of that?"

"Well not at first. I thought it was weird but you remember our mission in Venezuela?"

"Yeah?" Percy knew the insurgents were approaching quickly so he set up to peak the hole.

"I saw you make someone literally freeze." That caused Percy to stop. His friend saw him use his powers to control someone's blood. Something he only did if the situation was life or death. Something he promised Annabeth he would never do again. "No one noticed, due to being in the heat of a gunfight, but the man was coming for me with a knife and my gun jammed. I saw you put your hand up and he just stopped. Like he had no control of his body. It was wild and you saved my life. So just who is your dad?"

Percy paused and looked at his friend with sad eyes.

"Posiedon." Percy looked at the approaching enemy. "My dad is Posiedon, the King of the Seas."

"Do you think he can help us now?" Martin asked with a shaky voice. "Or maybe Ares, the god of war?"

"The gods do not help people like us." Percy looked to the sky. The sun was shining on them but he could still hear thunder in the background, Zeus heard him. "But I promise you, whatever happens I will see you on the other side brother."

"I will see you there." Martin said. He turned and looked at the enemy. They moved slowly but it wasn't any less intimidating. There were too many of them. "The only easy day was yesterday, it seems."

"So it does." Percy prepared himself for the coming threat. He took the green smoke target and popped it allowing the enemy to know their position. He bet they would be dead before the jets got there but he was going to take as many as he can with them.

He sent a prayer to the gods. He sent a prayer to his uncle to help send his dead squadmates to Elysium, he sent a prayer to his father to watch over his mother, sister, and Paul, and for Enora. Oh how he wanted to see her one last time. Finally he sent a prayer to his cousin, Ares, to give him strength for what he is about to do.

With a final nod to his best friend and final prayer to any god who was listening they emerged from the hole and aimed for anything that moved.

AN: I hope you enjoyed and do any of y'all who Enora might actually be? Let me know some of the guesses and what y'all thought about this story about a much more different and older Percy. Thanks for reading!
