Hello everyone long time no see, I come to you with the latest Chapter of my story, The insecure Demon Lord misadventures, you can probably tell this chapter is a lot longer than the previous ones, and hopefully all future chapters will be around about the same length if not longer depending on how much free time I have, on the back end of the story I've also made some changes to what the overall story is going to be and what happens, all I can say is that you're in for a surprise in the future, also if anyone from my other story watching Subaru lose his shit for 636 minutes straight sees this, I would like to reassure you that I have not abandoned that story in anyway , will be working very soon, anyway without further ado may I present to you chapter 3 of the story

"A quest to defeat a group of Manara snakes in the man-eating woods?" Rem says to no one in particular, as we continue to make our way to where the man-eating Woods, is marked on a map provided by Adventurers Guild.

looking around I can't help that finally admire the scenery, back in my old life, despite never going outside much, i always did have a interest and fascination with nature, I would always say to myself that I would make an effect to go outside and experience the world, but of course it never happened because of my own insecurities, but now courtesy of Diablo, I now had that excuse to finally experience the world like I was wanted to, realising I had been spending out a little bit, I snap myself back to the now as Rem continues to list the quest

"Apparently the client is the magic Mage's Association, who need the things eyes for their experiments" she says, holding out the form for me to take a closer look at, looking too closely I can see that the reward for the quest is 50 gold and 25 silver which is quite a substantial reward, but considering the monster in question that's to be expected.

Making it obvious that I'd finished looking at the form, Rem hands it back to me, looking at her small hand I hesitate for just a moment before taking the paper from her, feeling leathery texture in my hand as I roll it up, putting it away carefully in my satchel, as I finish putting it away I see some side of the road in the distance, as we get closer I can see that it's some kind of giant seemingly made of stone, it looks like it's been there for quite a while considering that plants and Moss cover the majority of its lower half, Rem and Shera continue walking as I stop and stare up at the stone giant, despite being covered in plants life on its lower half, I can just make out with appears to be some kind of military style uniform, I hear footsteps coming towards me most likely Rem and Shera, backtracking after they continued walking without me, but I pay them no mind as I continue to inspect the stone giant, looking at its chest I can see what appeared to be modern military style pouches as well as appears to be some kind of body armour vest, I can feel my head starting to hurt because nothing about this world is making any sense, first the fantasy stuff which I could handle because after all crossrevive was a fantasy game, but the fact that this giant is wearing modern military equipment is just makes everything a lot more confusing, but despite that I can't help that feel that this stone giant is another piece of the overall puzzle that is this world.

Thinking for a second I decided to drop down a little sketch of the Giant for future reference, taking out a piece of parchment from my satchel, as well as a small charcoal stick, I quickly begin to sketch what I see, after a few minutes I have a completed sketch of the stone giant and I must say, despite drawing not being something I was ever good at, it doesn't look half bad at all, satisfied with my work I roll up the piece of parchment making sure to put it in my satchel carefully as to not damage the fresh charcoal sketch

"Um... Diablo what are you doing?" Rem says curiously, while looking at me with a raised eyebrow.

"Nothing major, I was simply making a small sketch of this storm giant, because it intrigued me" I say in Diablo's deep voice, as I gesture to the storm giant with a wave of my hand, making both of my companions look up at the colossal giant.

"Why would you want to draw, some big dumb stone statue, like it's been there for ages and it's not even that interesting?" Shera says as was she put a finger to her cheek, something she seems to do when she's trying to think of something, Rem surprisingly nods in agreement, crossing her arms over her chest as she does so.

"Yeah, that thing has been there for millennia, even the elf tribes in the area say that it's been there since even before they arrive" she says with a small huff, meaning that it's most likely common knowledge to everyone in this world, but of course I'm obviously the exception to this, after a second or two her eyes widened in realisation.

"Sorry diablo, I keep forgetting that you're not from this world" she says nervously while looking at me apologetically.

"You are forgiven" I say dismissively with a wave of my hand, with nothing to say I give another wave of my hand to indicate that it's time to continue our journey, Rem and Shera quickly fall into lock stop either side of me, as the stone giant gets a smaller and smaller behind us, however a tingling sensation causes me to look back at the Giant, for a second it almost felt like we were being watched as if the storm giant had been quietly watching us the whole time, letting my gaze linger on the giant for the moment, I shake my head trying to clear the tingling sensation from my brain, turning my attention back to the road I can see that a large woody area is coming up, most likely the man-eating woods where our quest is.

"So... the man-eating woods is where incredibly strong monsters live right? Shera says nervously, while also trying to break the silence that has overtaken us.

"Yes, ordinarily a dangerous quest like this, would be given out to the knights to complete, but I suppose if the knights were unavailable, that's why it was even open for us to take" Rem says while Shera makes a o shape with her mouth, looking at Rem it's obvious that she is feeling a little bit dejected about what happened the other day.

"Worry not, you two can leave this one to me" I say trying to put a reassuring tone in my voice, it seems to work as Rem immediately picks up, and Shera's smile grows a bit wider.

I can't help but smile slightly, as the atmosphere of our little group grows warmer ever so slightly, however I quickly noticed that we passed but I assumed was the man-eating Woods.

"I do believe that we have passed our destination" I say as I turned to look at the large, wooded area, however turning to look at my two companions looks of absolute confusion, they were both looking at me like I've grown a extra head or something.

"Um... diablo we've still got a long way to go?" Shera says with a deadpan expression, Rem nods her head in agreement.

I look at both of them for a moment, before pinching the bridge of my nose and letting out a tired sigh, which seems to confuse them even more, despite being in a healthy and physically fit body, the prospect of spending a long time walking everywhere wasn't exactly very pleasing.

"Wouldn't it be just more convenient to teleport to the man-eating Woods" I say dejectedly, which only causes them to look at me even more confused.

"Portal?" Shera says tilting her head to the side in confusion.

"what's "teleport"?" Rem says just as confused, but also sounding slightly intrigued let out another sigh rubbing the bridge of my nose again, feeling the headache starting to become slightly worse.

"Teleport is a basic spell that allows you return to the last place you previously visited, at the expense of your own magic pool, isn't such a basic spell common knowledge?" I say with a slight sigh, out of all of the things being different from crossrevive, I was really hoping that basic teleportation would remain the same, but it seems luck is not on my side today.

after a few seconds of silence, Shera suddenly burst out into a fit of laughter, which only confuses me even more, and looking at Rem who is shaking her head dismissively, makes any lingering hope I had of them understanding what I was talking about completely disappear.

"Diablo you dummy, if we had something like that everyone would be using it" Shera says breathlessly through her own laughter.

"Honestly, I thought I'd already heard enough nonsense from the fat elf" Rem says with a sigh, as she begins to walk ahead seemingly having enough of the conversation.

"Hey that's mean! I'm not fat!" Shera shout back, as the two descend into another bickering match which by this point I've learnt the just tune out, letting out a sigh I make a move to follow them, yet despite the day not going as well as I hoped, I can't help but smile just bit, as the two continue to bicker kind of like how siblings would, and looking up there is not a single cloud as the sun hangs high in the sky, with only a few birds visible, I can't help but think despite my misgivings, today is truly a beautiful day for an adventure.

5straight hours of travelling... I take back what I said earlier about this being a good day

I think to myself as i let out a tired huff, looking at the Forest itself it's certainly from looks alone deserves it's reputation, looking behind me I see Rem looking around most likely for the massive snakes in question, while Shera is crouching in front of a body of swampy water looking at it curiously, I swear her curiosity is absolutely off the charts.

"Where do you think we can find a Madara Snake?" she says turning her head to look at both me and Rem.

"They're over twenty meters long, and they usually lurk in swamp water, where they attacked things that comes close" Rem says with amusement evident in her voice, and a small smirk making its way to her lips, Shera suddenly jumps back from the water landing swear on her behind, despite resisting i can't help but let out of quiet chuckle to myself, as Shera confronts Rem about scaring her like that.

Turning my attention back to the woods, I can't help but find it extremely off-putting how creepy the woods actually are, compared to what they were in the game, despite the sun still being relatively high in the sky when we ended you would be forgiven for thinking that it was dusk given how much light the tree canopy blocked, thinking about it I'm actually beginning to miss my minimap, considering that walking around in this place is going to be a nightmare, god knows what kind of creatures could be lurking around every tree trunk.

However suddenly, Shera's entire body seems to go rigid for a moment, as she looks up into the trees intently, following her gaze, I can feel my demon senses kicking in, and sure enough I can feel that there is something or someone in the trees watching us, by this point Rem has also noticed their presence, most likely through her feline senses, I quietly and discreetly tap Shera's shoulder, her body jolts a little bit from my touch, but her gaze never leave the trees.

"Can you point them out, and how many there are?" I say quietly, while discreetly nodding my head in the direction of the treetops, despite her gaze never leaving the Treetops she nods and points out three different spots in the tree canopy.

"I count 10 in total, I think they were trying to hide their presents using magic "she says in low even tone, which makes me look at her curiously out the corner of my eyes, because that tone of voice is something I've not heard from Shera in the short time that I've known her.

"I knew something about this quest didn't seem right, it's obvious now that we've been caught in a trap" I say quietly, as I pulled my magic staff from my inventory, thinking for a second I decided it's best for us to attack first and possibly get the upper hand.

with the familiar weight of my magic staff in my hand, I ready up one of my more basic AoE type spells.

"Blast rain!" I cry, as a hail of fire balls are let loose from my magic staff, to my ears the spell sounds like a hail of artillery fire, as the spell completely tears apart the tree canopy settings setting many trees ablaze, and completely destroying others, after a couple seconds the spell comes to an end, with much of the tree canopy now completely ablaze, I can't help but smile slightly at the effectiveness of my magic, in crossrevive blast rain, was a low tier spell that wouldn't do much to a player that was above level 40, but since everything in this world is so much weaker even a low tier spell could do a lot of damage, which also means that I really need to evaluate when and where to use magic, so don't accidentally wipe a city off the map without meaning to.

"Is elemental magic... could be even more powerful than fathers?!" Shera says in absolute shock, with Rem is seemingly speechless at the spell I just cast, however before I can say anything, several people jump from the burning trees to the ground, and to Sheras and my surprise they're actually elves.

"Celsior?! What are you doing here?" Shera says with surprise, to an elf who I assume is the leader of the group.

"Aranel Shera!, me and my ranges have come to rescue you, from this slave tender!" the leader of the group says, as he raised his bow pointing it directly at me.

"Slave tender, you will return the noble Arane of the Greenwood Kingdom to us at once!" the leader of the group says, as he raises his bow pointing it at directly at me in threatening manner.

Wait Shera is the princess of the Greenwood Kingdom? of course why didn't I realise that! it directly states in the in game lore that's the elf King had a daughter by the name of Shera, god I feel like an idiot, however deciding to beat myself up about it later I decided to get to the bottom of all this nonsense and figure out just what's going on.

"Why would the elves submit a quest under the name of the Mage's Association?" I say with an authoritative voice, trying to make myself sound as intimidating as possible, and surprisingly given the way some of the elves took a small step back it seems to have worked.

"I don't know who task you with this, but I am no slave tender" I continue, again trying to make my voice even more aggressive and dark sounding, which seems to do the trick, as more of the elves seem to shrink away ever so slightly.

despite the leader of the group being a bit shaken by my words, he manages to compose himself, although I can still see his hands are shaking slightly.

"Your lies and trickery won't convince us! that enslavement collar is infallible proof of what you are, now release her at once!" he demands, seemingly growing more confident with every word, still

Despite the fact that his hands are still shaking like a leaf, however realization strikes me who could be behind this, considering that the quest was officially from the Mage's Association, a particular somebody who has a grudge against me is most likely responsible for this.

"I don't care about what the royal family wants!" Shera says with an authoritative voice, the leader of the elves despite looking a bit shaken by her words managers to keep his composure, and managers to respond.

"Everyone in the Royal family, especially your father and brother is worried about you!" the leader says, with worry evident in his voice, however Shera, seems to not be affected by what he said, I also notice that her clenched fists are beginning with shake slightly.

"What I do with my life! is none of my brothers concern!" she says anger evident in her voice, the leader of the group seems to back away slightly, while still keeping his bow trained at me.

"You heard her, she does not intend to return, respect her wishes and leave her be, or face the consequences" I say menacingly, deciding that it was time for me to step in and break this up, the leader of the group, despite being shaken and obviously terrified, somehow manages to keep his hands steady enough to keep me in his sights, I take a step forward much to the surprise of Rem and Shera, and the group of elves, as I step forward many of the elves step back in fear, yet the group leader manages to keep his ground.

"Aranel Shera, I understand your situation is complicated, but you're too weak to live on your own right now, we have been informed, that we are to bring you back by force if necessary" the leader of the group says, as some of the braver members of his group, get themselves ready for a fight, I can't help that let a growl escape from my throat at the thought of someone calling Shera weak, Shera herself seems to have a similar reaction, I looked down and noticed that her fists are still clenched, I'm also surprised and slightly concerned to see that her gloves are beginning to turn crimson, because of how hard she must have been clenching her hands.

Before I or Shera can make a move, Rem quickly puts herself between Shera and the group of elven rangers, holding onto one of her magic crystals in case a group of elves make a move.

"she's already told you, she's not coming with you, if you want to have her you're going to have to get through me first" Rem says aggressively, as she takes up a defensive fighting stance, I step closer to Shera as well, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder, and giving her a very out of character reassuring smile, which she seems to appreciate from the way she smiles back, taking my hand on her shoulder I step forward, giving a nod to Rem, who seems to immediately understand, finally returning my gaze to the group of elven rangers in front of me, I decide it's time to show these chucklenuts, why it's a bad idea to mess with me or my companions.

"you buffoons, you made three critical mistakes" I say, holding up three fingers for dramatic effect.

"First, I am no slave tender, I am a sorcerer, second, Shera it's not as powerless as you claim, after all I would not let someone who is apparently weak to be a member of my party, and finally... I pause for dramatic effect, as well as putting on the meanest looking face I could manage.

"Your third mistake was thinking you could make a fool and an enemy out of me" I practically shout, which seems to send some of the elves reeling back from sheer terror, leader of the group finally lets loose the arrow he's been pointing in my direction the entire time, as well as the rest of his group that don't seem to be petrified where they stand , even with the arrows flying towards me I feel no fear, as they draw closer, Rem and Shera both scream my name as the arrows impact my chest, and much to my delight the arrows harmlessly bounce off my chest, which only seems to make the group of elven Rangers even more terrified.

"I'm surprised, I thought your attacks would have been more substantial than that" I say as I pick up an arrow for dramatic effect what also giving it a quick examination, judging from its looks it's just a plane stone head arrow, nothing special or enchanted about, after examining the arrow, I break it with just a flick of my thumb, which seems to do the trick considering that some of the elves are having a bit of trouble holding onto their bows, I take a commanding step forward and to my satisfaction some of the elves including the leader take a good couple steps back.

"you're going to need a bit more than a sharpened stone on a stick to hurt me" I say with almost a growl, taking another deliberately slow. step forward.

"How could you ever win in a fight with a true monster with Arrows like those" I say insultingly, wanting to see just what these elves were capable of in a fight.

"a-a-are you insulting us monster" the leader says his voice shaky and uneasy, I take another slow deliberate step forward, yet the leader in his place, seemingly either too scared to move or somehow managing to acquire some more confidence, I then see him slowly reach into his quiver, before pulling out a very extravagant green arrow which I do not recognise.

"y-y-you w-wanted to see what we are capable of you monster, I will smite you using a holy relic the king bestowed upon me" the leader says, fear still evident in his voice, as he pulls back the string of his bow, the arrow tip begins to glow, and as it does, a gale starts to blow with much of the wind being directed towards the head of the arrow, as the wind picks up I suddenly realised that this arrow despite not looking like it, seems to have similar effects to that of a tempest arrow, which despite being an enchanted item was still relatively common in the game.

"Well now! if you use that you might actually be able to damage me!" I say with mock excitement, while I internally ready myself to receive at least a little bit of damage, because while being a relatively low tier enchanted item, the tempest arrow was still at the end of the day an enchanted item, and therefore could at least do a little bit of damage to even someone as high level as me.

the elf leader, finally releases the arrow, the arrow seems to grow even brighter and stronger as it hurtled towards me, at the last moment I mentally prepare a minor healing spell just in case, as the arrow hits my chest I feel the full force of its mighty wind engulf me, yet unsurprisingly I felt no pain and see no visible damage on my chest, since the Arrow have not done any damage I decides to let the spell run its course and let the elves believe they had beaten me, as the wind finally began to die down, I could hear Rem and Shera shouting my name concern evident in their voices.

as the spell finally comes to an end, I can finally see the elves again, and much to my satisfaction the colour drains from all of their faces, as well as any confidence they may have had from that latest attack, just to add insult to injury I mockingly pat and rub my chest as if trying to remove dust or dirt, as all of the elves stand there petrified I can hear Shera cheering that I'm alright, after finishing my display of showing just how an effective that Arrow was, I looked directly into the eyes of the elf leader, which seems to root him to the very spot he stands.

"Wha?! h-h-how is t-t-hat p-possible" the elf leader managers to stammer out, seeming to regain control of his body and unconsciously stepping back in sheer terror.

"keep that fear etched into your hearts, along with this message" I say ominously, making a show of pulling my magic staff from beneath my robe.

"I am Diablo, a demon Lord from another plane of existence! now freezia!" I shout, letting loose one of my more powerful AoE attack spells, almost immediately the entire Forest for miles around is turned into a winter wasteland, with trees and animals are like being frozen in an instant, as the spell finally dies off, I can see all of the elven rangers, collapsed onto the ground in sheer terror and shock at the magic I just displayed.

as I put my staff away, satisfied with the little show I have just put on, someone very familiar comes running and screaming out from behind a now frozen tree, even with his hood up, I could nearly recognise that it was that it was that mage's association bastard from the other night.

"Goddammit, I thought you were guys was supposed to be elite elven troops?! how good you guys be so useless!" he screams hysterically not even seeming to have noticed me yet.

"So, it was you who put them up to this, paladin?" I say with a slightly bored sounding tone, he seems to stutter for a second trying to think of the appropriate thing to say.

"I-I j-just simply told them the elf princess had come here, that's all" he says trying to sound innocent and not guilty.

"They seem to think I'm a slave tender though, and just where would they have got that information from exactly?" I say which seems to catch him off guard, I can see the different emotions running across his face as he thinks of an excuse, finally it seems like he's had enough and snaps.

"That was their own misunderstanding, it's not my fault all Demi humans are stupid!" he says hysterically, while pointing at the elves practically foaming from the mouth, I take a quick couple steps before he can even react.

"Don't involve yourself with me again, or I will eliminate you without any mercy" I say menacingly, leaning forward so I could look directly into his eyes, all of the anger that was there previously was gone, it replaced by sheer absolute terror.

"I wonder what master Celes would have to say...if she where to find out that you sullied the name of the Mage's association just to reinforce your ego" Rem says, her voice practically dripping with disdain for the man in front of her, looking at the paladin now, it seems that comment was enough to send him into babbling hysterics, after managing to blurt out, that he was not in the wrong anyway, he takes off into the frozen wasteland quickly disappearing into the frozen trees, despite threatening him to stay away I couldn't help but feel this wasn't going to be the last time I have to deal with him, turning my attention to elven rangers, I see they are all bowing in front of Shera.

"relay this message to my brother and father, I will not return home until I wish to, I will not let anyone in my family control my destiny, and lastly I will be staying with my travelling companions Rem and Diablo" she says authoritative but also calm tone of voice, I can't help but look at her with surprise for the fact that she wanted to stay with me, even though she technically is a slave, because of the collar around her neck.

after sending the elven Rangers on their way, the more authoritative and the regal sounding Shera completely disappears, being replaced by her much more usual happy and bubbly self.

"let's go home now, I'm so hungry right now" Shera says excitedly, with Rem looking back with the same unamused look that is practically her default facial expression.

"Good grief, when did you and I become companions of all things" Rem says dismissively, although I can tell that there's no sincerity behind her words, the two quickly descend into another bickering match which seems to be a lot more light hearted, then they usually are, which makes me smile just a little bit, looking at the frozen wasteland around me I can't help but feel a bit lighter on the inside, because she considers me a worthy travel companion.

By the time we made it back to the town, night-time had come, and Rem had split from us saying she was going to tell Celes about what happened today, after telling her to stay safe, me and Shera made our way back to the room at the inn, and that's why I find myself now, sitting alone in a room with a incredibly beautiful girl, god it was like the situation with Rem all over again, taken a reassuring breath I look over at Shera, and I can see that she seems to be deep in thought about something, after what seems like an eternity she finally seems to perk up as if ready to say something.

"Rem sure is late, isn't she?" she says, with just a hint of nervousness evident in her voice.

"Yeah" I reply almost at a loss of what to say about the situation, it's times like this where I realise that I have literally no experience when it comes to talking with girls.

"She went to tell master Celes about what happened..." she says nervously, pausing for a moment before continuing.

"But she should be back by now, right?" she says fidgeting slightly.

"I believe so" I say trying to think of what to say or do in a conversation like this, on the outside I'm calm and collected, but inside I'm a complete mess, trying to figure out exactly how exactly I should approach patient in a setting like this, doing what I did with Rem despite having a positive outcome probably wouldn't be a good idea.

"Anyway, your magic was amazing, Diablo I have never seen anything like it before, not even from my father" that last part catches my interest, her father the elven king, is extremely powerful by this world's standards? that would definitely be something to look into for future reference.

"that's the one thing I've come to understand about my leveling in this world" I say, which makes her look at me with surprise.

"The people of this world live so peacefully, it's quite different from the world I came from, they spend every day enjoying life, instead of trying to avoid death" I finish, which causes her to look at me with both confusion and interest.

"isn't wanting to enjoy life a good thing though?" she says curiously, tilting her head to the side slightly in a undeniably cute manner.

Thinking about it today has made me realise that unlike the game this world is unpredictable, as well as the fact that death here is permanent meaning that there are no resets or respawning, which means that even though I'm a high level, injury and even the prospect of death , should be taken into account when going into battle, however realising the silence has been going on for too long, I quickly think of something to say in response to Shera's question.

"the world I come from was harsh and unkind, death was ever present, everywhere in life, not even children and the elderly were safe from its clutches, when I was young I prioritised trying to level up as quickly as possible, as to not suffer the same fate many of the people I knew had suffered" I say, trying to put just a hint of sorrow and melancholy in my voice, it also helped that what I told wasn't necessarily a lie, crossrevive was a harsh game to beginners to say the least, the game was notorious for its difficulty, which is most likely the reason why it never gained a mass market appeal, yet much like another game series I can't remember the name of off the top of my head, the small group of people that actually did play the game played it because of its difficulty and non-user-friendly appearance, that was one of the main reasons why I had tried the game, because it looks like it would be a challenge to actually get anywhere, and it certainly was a challenge to achieve the rank of demon king, looking back on it I don't regret how many hours of my life into it, in fact I was proud of it in a way, not many people before me had ever attained such a rank in the game, and I doubt many people afterwards will either.

"Diablo, is your previous world the reason why you don't seem to value your own life in battle?" Shera says with a hint of emotion in her voice, I look at her with a surprise look which she seems to pick up on, although my surprises for a completely different reason than the one she's most likely expecting, despite only coming to that realization today, I guess she was right, because of how high of a level I am I've not been thinking about the possible dangers that could be in battle, even though I'm such a high level, however not wanting to let the momentum of our conversation die, I quickly think of a suitable response, that would hopefully ease her mind on the subject.

"Of course, I never thought about throwing it away wastefully, but without some sort of sacrifice there's no way I can win against the demon Lord Kerbskulm otherwise" I say with a bit of genuine concerning my voice, if Kerbskulm is as powerful as they say it was, then there's a good chance that I could die or be seriously injured in battle against a being of such power, despite how high level I am.

"Diablo, how you are choosing Rem?" Shera says with almost a pleading voice, looking up I am surprised to see her standing directly in front of me ,looking at me with almost a searching look on her face, my brain misfires for a second, not quite knowing how to handle being this close to a girl, but then I do something that surprises her and myself, I reach out slowly and gently take that one of her hands, her hands are delicate and dainty like I would expect from a girl, I can feel that they are stronger than they look, most likely from all the years of training she did in order to have proficiency with a bow.

"I'm not picking favourites with either one of you" I say without thinking, instead deciding to let my heart speak instead of my brain.

"Despite being in this world for such a short amount of time, you both have become important to me, I promised I would help Rem with her demon Lord problem, and I will certainly do the same for you with whatever problems you may have, I make this promise as a demon Lord" I say without needing to fake the emotion in my voice, yet despite it coming from the heart and being genuine I can't help but think it's still sounded a little bit cringey, there is silence for a moment, before I hear the trademark sound of someone that's just about to cry, looking at Shera, I can see tears beginning to form in the corners of her eyes, but before I can even think about apologising thinking I did something wrong, she throws herself at me, completely breaking down as she cries into my shoulder, despite her large breasts pressing into my chest, I can't help but instinctively bring an arm up and wrap it around her back, despite crying so hard she appears to be talking as well but it's so slurred that it's incomprehensible, despite not being an expert in comforting people, I could tell that this was not just from today, most likely something she had been carrying for quite a while, instead of trying to say anything I simply rub her back as she continues to cry, knowing that it's best for someone in this emotional state to let it all out of their system, after what seems like an eternity she finally begins to regain control of herself, only managing to get out a single "sorry" between the sobs and coughs.

After a while she eventually stop crying, but also ended up falling asleep in my arms, so gently I picked her up and placed her on the spare bed in the room, being careful not to disturb her ,I pull the blanket over her up to her chest, once done, I quickly and quietly moved to the other side of the room where the window is, careful to avoid the extra squeaky floorboards, after a moment of looking out the window at night sky, I hear the door to the room open slowly, I don't even need to turn around to know who it is.

"How long have you been out there?" I asked quietly as Rem comes over and stands beside me.

"I've been here, since she asked if you were choosing me over her" she says equally is quietly, as she looks out at the night sky with me, glancing over to look at her eyes, I can see the light from outside reflecting off them much like how would with a real cat, to say it was beautiful would be an understatement.

I see" I say turning to look at her.

"I meant what I said, whatever problems you both have, I will try my best to help you, you're both important to me despite us not knowing each other for very long" I say quietly, with a small smile making its way to my face, to her it must have looked really weird considering , how my face looks usually, yet she looks back at me and gives me a genuine smile of her own, much like the one from the other night, after looking at the night sky for a little bit longer, we both decided it's time to get some sleep, as I feel my consciousness slipping away, I can't help the feel like I've managed to actually achieve something here, yet as my consciousness completely slips away, and blackness overtakes my vision, the last thing I hear is a voice calling out from the darkness.
