Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Darkness over Mewni. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own SVFOE, Disney and a few others do.

There was plenty of soldiers in Mewni. Eclipsa knew this… But she was greatly disturbed by this.

"Are you ok, Quinn?" Eclipsa asked her guard as the soldier turned towards her, his voice showing surprise.

"I'm fine, your highness…." Quinn said and hummed. "Just a bit interested what you wish to do next. Queen Solaria told us to leave during her talk with you, after all." Quinn said, brushing off his pristine armor for a second.

Eclipsa frowned, her mother kept secrets which she didn't understand. The queens were rulers, but Solaria was nothing more than a war queen who hardly seemed to do any leadership when it came down to it.

"I heard the magnificent queen wanted to call her generals in for a meeting." Eclipsa heard from Horst. "Should be interesting for the war…" Horst added, gaining glances from both Quinn and Eclipsa.

Quinn could only hum and shake his head. A war meeting meant more of their soldiers were dying in droves. The monsters were fighting as hard as them.

"This war is just throwing lives away, Horst." Quinn added as he followed after Eclipsa. "Besides, we have duties to honor here, we shouldn't be discussing that." Quinn said, his tone cold and professional.

Eclipsa was silent, she had her own thoughts on the war… But to express them was forbidden. It would lead to either bloody death the more this war went on… Or something she was unsure about.

"Quinn, you sound very conflicted." Eclipsa stated to which Quinn was silent.

"Just thinking aloud, princess, I'm sorry you had to hear it." Quinn stated as he cracked his fingers. "Horst, we have to be alert, what if an assassin got inside the castle? They'd go straight for the princess or queen Solaria!" Quinn said and shook his head once more as Eclipsa hummed.

All this talk about violence was bothering her, something that Quinn saw clearly. He was rather annoyed that Horst was bothering the princess. He didn't want her to be bothered by her guardians.

Quinn followed Eclipsa back out into the royal garden. This area was very calming and peaceful to him as well. Quinn turned and stopped to allow Eclipsa to walk past him.

"You know, I heard there's more plants from other kingdoms here then from Mewni." Horst put in as Quinn hummed and looked at his partner.

"Maybe, but the plants from Mewni are the best, Horst." Quinn said and then rubbed at his temples once more. "Then again? I've heard several plants from Mewni kill people… So, there's that." Quinn said, exhaustion from how the plants ended up hurting the staff of the castle.

Eclipsa hummed and then turned to look at Quinn with amusement as the guard looked at the plants with interest. Despite their armored helmets? Eclipsa knew how to read someone better than they could read themselves.

Quinn looked at Horst who maintained the optimism he usually did. He didn't envy the guard when it came down to it. Quinn crossed his arms and rubbed at his armored temples.

"Oy, this is going to be a long day." Quinn stated as he hummed and slowly made his way across the room, interested in the flowers.

Eclipsa seemed to look up from her flowers towards the duo as neither made a choice to move much. they were quiet silent as they only paused to share looks.

Quinn was silent, more curious about what would come next on the agenda then anything he could really say or do. His thoughts on the matter were irreverent, only what the princess and queen thought mattered. He cracked his fingers; he was sure something which came down to it as he hummed.

Quinn leaned down once more and drummed his fingers on his legs. He slowly looked around the room with interest, tapping the flowers as he could only hope this war ended sooner or later.

Sooner rather than later. There was more then warriors throwing their lives away. It was probably why Quinn wasn't on the frontlines. He thought too much about the war and not enough about fighting the more he thought about it.

Still? He had other things on his mind to pick apart, more important dealings to focus upon.

"So, I'm to guess we stay here for a while?" Quinn as he pondered the day's events. "Yeah?" Quinn questioned, more curious then anything about what his next duty would be.

Quinn looked at Eclipsa was far more amused as he chuckled. He smiled at her with hope.

"Do you think this war will be over?" Quinn questioned Eclipsa who frowned.

"Yes, I know for a fact that it can be ended once more." Eclipsa nodded as she hummed.

"Good, sorry for bugging you, your majesty." Quinn stated as he nodded his head once more and slightly stood back up.

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out that next chapter will be a bit delayed and such. Next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will be 900-1500 or so and will show Quinn and Eclipsa bonding more and such. Next chapter will hopefully will be not delayed or such.
