-She is still angry, Nino- Adrien talked to his new friend, who was sitting next to him. The most famous model in Paris was attending school for the first time in his life. First day of school and there already was a problem. A misunderstanding, actually. When he arrived that morning, his childhood friend, a girl called Chloe Bourgeois, had given Adrien a warm welcome. He was glad, she was his only friend. The thing is that she took out a chewing gum off her mouth and put it on someone else's chair, laughing.
-What are you doing? Adrien had asked her.
-The brats who sit here need a little behaviour adjustment, Adrikins. You have so much to learn about school culture- Her friend, a redhead called Sabrina, agreed with Chloe. Adrien wasn't that sure.
-Is this strictly necessary? – Adrien bent down and tried to take the chewing gum off that seat. It was not an easy task to do. The girl who had been sitting there the whole day came back from breaktime and saw the new boy, as she saw it, putting a chewing gum on her seat.
-Hey! What are you doing? – She asked annoyed. Chloe and Sabrina started laughing.
-Oh, I get it, nice job the three of you, how funny-
-No! I was trying to take it off! –
-Oh, were you? – Marinette didn't believe it. It was obvious. She used a tissue to cover the chewing gum and sat down, upset.
(That stupid new boy. Why does he have to be this stupidly handsome? And he is the son of my favourite designer… well, it doesn't matter. I… I hate him!) Marinette threw angry glances at her classmate.
Back to present, Adrien didn't know what to do now that this girl he had just met seemed to hate him. He looked at his new friend, awaiting some advice.
-Just talk to Marinette, dude. Tell her about the chewing gum-
-But how am I supposed to do it? Don't you see her face right now? -
-Well, just be yourself- Nino gave Adrien finger guns. The model smiled at him, but he wasn't going to do it. He couldn't "just be" himself. His father was always putting pressure on him for every single aspect of his life. Adrien had to excel at everything, he must get the highest marks if he wanted to remain in school, he must smile all the time, he could never do normal people stuff like being late or oversleeping for a photoshoot. No. He had to be perfect. He couldn't go and say "Hey, Marinette, I wasn't trying to bully you at all, in fact, I had never been to school or havefriends, shall we start over? Besides let's hang out someday. Wait, are you free tomorrow?" No. He just couldn't. He was Adrien Agreste and all the weigh of that surname was over his shoulders.
That afternoon when he saw her holding her red umbrella under the rain, he remained silent and left school in his father's grey car.
Three years have gone by after that day. Everything is still the same. Adrien and Marinette are Chat Noir and Ladybug, they fight against the evil that is haunting Paris as a superhero duet… and they can't stand each other in their civil lives.
