"Welcome home Quinnie!" Judy Fabray said with a smile as Quinn walked into her home, desperately trying to escape the cold wind of the winter air. It was winter break and everyone was starting to return home from college. After settling in for the break Quinn went back downstairs to catch up with her mom, and was interrupted by a knock at the door. Quinn curiously walked over and swung the front door open to find a very cold Santana standing outside.
"Santana!" She shouted quickly rushing towards her girlfriend to give her a hug, almost tacking Santana in the process. "What are you doing here?" She asked pulling Santana into a tight hug. "I thought you weren't going to be home for another few days."
"I wanted to surprise you. My parents thought they wouldn't have been able to get me until the weekend because my dad thought they needed him until then. He found out last week that yesterday was his final day until after the holidays so they managed to get me a few days earlier." Santana replied as Quinn pulled away. "Do you like your surprise?" Quinn smiled.
"Yes."
"Now let's go back inside because it is fucking cold out here." Quinn giggled as her and Santana walked back inside. After Quinn helped Santana get settled for the night in her room and a nice dinner everyone got ready for bed. Judy let Santana sleep in Quinn's room. They both got ready for bed and slipped under the covers. They ended up talking about college, Santana unaware that she was moving in closer to Quinn. She ended up placing her head on Quinn's chest and could hear her heart beat. Eventually they stopped talking as Santana let out a contempt sigh, feeling comfort in the warmth radiating off of Quinn's body while Quinn played with her hair. Santana felt her eyes slowly close while letting out a yawn. She slowly started to drift off, listening to Quinns beating heart. Quinn noticed Santana's breathing starting to slow and began softly and gently humming. A smile slowly spread on Santana's face, as Quinn softly broke the silence.
"Goodnight San." She said in a soft whisper before placing a gentle kiss on her forehead.
"Goodnight Quinn." Santana replied, her voice low and showcasing that she was only half awake. Santana then drifted off into a comfortable slumber with Quinn slowly following.
