Hey readers! I'm back with another chapter! I decided to update this chapter sooner because I'm so excited for this story. Please leave a review!
==During Kagome's talk with Midoriko==
No one Pov
Ginta came back with two armfuls of fur pelts. He set them down close to the fire pit, yet far enough that it wouldn't hurt any of the Inutachi when they sat near.
He then hit two rocks together until a flame sparked in the pit.
"Ginta!"
The sudden yell of his name startled Ginta and he looked up quickly.
'I suppose I should head to Kōga before he punishes me for not obeying. Although, he just called my name.'
Koga barked at Ginta as he came back, and the Beta immediately went to his pack leader.
A wave of nervousness left him as he patiently waited for his next orders. Kōga didn't usually stay this quiet after yelling for him.
To be fair, Ginta wasn't the same scrawny wolf he was the last time Kagome and her group saw the Eastern Wolf Pack. There had been around two spring cycles in between the last visit on both ends. His hair had reached down to his butt but was tied into an up knot like Koga's. Ginta's eyes became an even more piercing blue. There were moments where his eyes were a vibrant shade of purple as well. Along with his eyes, Ginta's physique was that of a very strong and athletic male demon. His muscles rivaled even Sesshomaru. Even with all of these changes, Ginta was always loyal to Kōga.
"Yes Koga?"
"Please take Kagome over to the furs near the fire. Make sure she is covered in all of them. Kagome needs to be warm."
There was an urgency in Koga's tone that Ginta easily recognized as possessiveness and panic for his intended mate. Yet, there was an off tone to his pack leader's voice that made Ginta do a double take.
Either way, Ginta nodded his head and grabbed the young Shikon Miko from Inuyasha. He took her over to the fur pelts where the rest of her group was already settled.
They all looked a little pale, but Kagome was the one closest to death. Inuyasha was a close second in the line of who needed help the most.
As Ginta set Kagome down a voice spoke inside his head and he quickly hid the panic and surprise he felt.
"You care more for her than you let on Ginta. Be careful when you are around her and Koga. I do not want you to get hurt."
Ginta's wolf never made his presence known to anyone. It was common knowledge that inner demons only appeared when they felt the situation was important. The inner demon was the wiser part of any demon. It held the knowledge of future events and what actions were best for you to take. Their main job was to protect their other half and to notify them of any important events coming into light soon.
'Now is not a good time to spout nonsense Kenjin. Sister Kagome is Koga's intended. I would never care for her more than I do about anything or anyone else.'
A growl had erupted throughout Ginta's mind, but he ignored it. He chose to inform Koga of his concerns instead.
"Koga. With how near death sister is, she is going to need a healer and another body next to her. Warmth is usually what humans need. It might be a good idea to either have the wolves surround her or lay with her yourself?"
Ginta tried to make his statement sound like a suggestion or question. Commanding a leader was never a good idea.
Kōga Pov
I growled in silent warning at what sounded like a command from one of my right hand men. Unfortunately, Ginta did have a point. Kagome would need the heat and so would the others in her group.
" I have an important meeting soon. If you could take charge for me while I do that, then I would accept whatever means will keep Kagome alive. However, if she gets worse, it's on you Ginta."
No One Pov
A glare left Koga's gaze as he turned to go back towards his den. He really didn't want to leave Kagome all alone without him, but she had her group and his wolves. Kōga would get to her as soon as his meeting was over.
All of the wolf demons gaped as their leader dared to brush off the very idea of cuddling with their sister. As they all sat in silence, Inuyasha fainted. The healer quickly went to him and began her work to heal him.
More healers came to help each member of the Inutachi. The strongest healer went to Kagome and Ginta. The Miko was their biggest priority.
Wary glances were exchanged by the wolves as they watched each member in the group be attended to. This was a very serious situation.
As time went on, most of the demons went into their dens and left the main hall empty for the Inutachi, healers, and Ginta. Hakkaku had returned to the main hall as well.
Koga Pov
I sat on my fur bed silently as my thoughts raced through my head. All of them were consumed with how distressed Kagome's group looked. I can only assume it was
because their Alpha was down.
It's common knowledge that when a pack Alpha is down, their pack is very stressed and the Beta rushes to find help.
She may not know it, but Kagome was a pack alpha. Hopefully she can make it out of this situation with little to no damage.
Shaking my head I began to think of the meeting I had with the Northern Wolf Tribe.
Once more, I was reminded that Ayame was promised to me and that I needed to mate her to unite our packs. A small sigh escaped my lips. It's not that there was anything wrong with the beautiful wolf demon, but my heart has been on Kagome since day one. Therefore, I planned on telling the Northern leader that I decline the promise. Ayame deserves someone who will be faithful to only her.
The sounds of approaching footsteps made me pause in my thoughts. I lifted my head to greet whoever came to my den.
No One
A wolf by the name of Tonjiro entered Koga's den with a silent urgency.
"Lord Kōga, something is going on in the main hall!"
As the wolf informed his leader of this new occurrence, a wave of power and warmth washed over the den.
Kōga quickly jumped up and rushed into the main hall. Upon arrival, he noticed Kagome was floating about six feet in the air and was glowing. The power was definitely coming from her, but how? She was asleep.
"Ginta what in the hell is going on in here?!"
Ginta startled at the sound of his leader's voice. He was so focused on the fact that Kagome was floating. Her power had washed over them all, but only he seemed to be affected in a different way. Kagome's power had healed everyone that had any kind of illness or injury. It included herself. What was baffling was how she was still asleep and had no power to possibly be able to heal the whole demon tribe.
"While the healers were working, Kagome rose up off the ground and her energy began releasing from her body. From what I can tell, it healed everyone within the pack. I don't know where the power came from when she is still asleep. It seems she has also managed to heal herself."
Ginta's wolf made an appearance once more while he spoke.
"Good answer. Don't tell anyone about the feeling she gave you."
Kōga nodded at Ginta's confirmation of what happened. No one was directly in danger, they were all unexpectedly healed is all.
"Thank you for that information. It brings relief knowing she is only healing everyone. Of course my Kagome is powerful enough to heal even when close to losing life."
Pride shown through Koga's serious manner. After all, his intended just showed how powerful she is to all the tribe.
Ginta Pov
I almost frowned and growled when Koga once again bragged about Kagome being his woman. It wasn't like I didn't understand. I'm just tired of him bragging when we are all suffering without mates. Most don't even have intended mates.
With winter starting off badly, not many were able to go and search for their intended. Especially now since we have Kagome's group.
"Calm down Ginta. Kōga can smell your emotions. Remember?"
No One Pov
Ginta cursed in his head and quickly went over to the den entrance.
"I'm going to go get some more water for everyone Lord Koga. They're going to need it."
With that stated. The annoyed wolf demon left the den.
