Hey readers! I am so sorry about the delay for this chapter. The first five chapters of my story are going to be delayed because of last minute plot changes and editing I will be doing. With that being said, I encourage you to comment on any of my chapters. Now onto the story.
No One Pov
Koga looked baffled for only a moment before he forgot about the occurrence between him and Ginta.
He smirked and walked over to Kagome in order to place a gentle kiss on her forehead. Koga jumped back a little as Kagome's body burned him with its raw power.
A frown now marred the poor wolf's face and he growled quietly.
'She really just went against me? That bitch deserves to be put into her place!'
Koga's anger-filled thoughts were interrupted by his wolf Hitoshi.
'Koga. If you hurt Kagome, you are going to regret it later. Aside from that reasoning, she is supposed to be your intended and Kagome's body is only trying to heal her. Do you honestly believe Kagome would hurt you of her own will? Just head back to your den to cool off.'
The logic in Hitoshi's words made him stop and rethink his decision.
'You're right Hitoshi. My Kagome would never intentionally hurt me. I'm proud that she can protect herself. Especially while she is healing.'
With his new resolve, Koga began to head back to his den for the second time that day.
As Kōga walked away, Kagome's body floated down and the young Miko's eyes began to flutter open.
Kagome Pov
I groaned as my vision unsteadily came out. Everything around me was blurry and the pain I felt before my dreams came back.
My whole body hurts. The ground felt like it had a thousand needles sticking out of it. There was an unbearable ache in my shoulder. My stomach felt as if there was a fire raging inside it. Everything in my body was screaming for sweet relief.
Just as I was about to faint, the pain stopped and a warm feeling began to consume me. Sweet relief had finally been given to me and I could get off this rock hard ground.
No one Pov
Kagome shakily got up and walked towards what looked like a couch made from fur pelts. It looked as tempting as a chocolate bar made fresh. As Kagome fell onto the couch she smiled. The furs were soft just like she presumed. Although, shivers still raked up her form.
'Maybe if I close my eyes, it'll get warmer in here'
Kagome drifted to an unconscious state still trembling slightly.
Ginta walked through the hooded forest. Anger was close to consuming him but he tried to hold it back.
'Calm down Ginta. Being angry won't do anything to help you.'
The command from his wolf made Ginta pause in his steps.
'What right does Koga have to be all smug about Kagome being his powerful mate? She may be his intended but that's only in his own eyes. To Kagome, Koga is just a very pushy friend and suitor. I've seen the way she cringes back from his affections. Even the rest of our tribe has begun to notice the non existent attraction on Kagome's end.'
Kenjin sighed softly. He knew this was going to be a long conversation.
'Go find a place you can safely hide away and we will continue this conversation.'
Ginta followed the orders of his wolf and found a secluded grove that could only be accessed through a hidden entrance.
Once inside the grove, Kenjin began to speak once more.
'Koga is the pack Alpha Ginta. He has every right to claim the beauty known as Kagome. The Alpha has a right to brag about the woman he has claimed as his intended. She may not see him as her Alpha, but Koga still has a claim over Kagome until he revokes it. Even then, Kagome has to once again claim that she is not interested. However, Koga can also revoke his claim through breaking Kagome's spirit to the point of almost no return.'
Anger came back full force when Ginta heard Kenjin's final words.
'Well our "Alpha" is being an insensitive jerk to the whole tribe and Kagome. A good Alpha would know when to quit and he would never hurt the woman he considers his intended. Koga can't even mate Kagome without her accepting him as her Alpha.'
Kenjin thought about Ginta's words and felt like there was more the wolf wanted to say.
'There is something else you want to say. What are you hiding, Ginta?'
A huff came from Ginta's mouth as he answered his wolf.
'As pack Alpha, Koga should remember that winter is one of the harder times for us. With animals and demons hibernating, it gets harder to hunt so we have to double our rations and hunts. However we can't do this without Koga putting an order out for more hunts. We also struggle with conceiving pups and keeping our women healthy. Very few women can conceive in the winter time and they have to be mated in order for that to happen.
Along with that, half of our tribe was sick anyways so we couldn't conceive or hunt. Koga even managed to fail at getting immediate care for his tribe. He only cared when Kagome's pack arrived. Even then, he only cared about Kagome's well being.'
Anger began to slowly fade away as Ginta let out all of the stress he had been holding in for months.
A soft look passed over Kenjin's face as he finally came to an understanding of all Ginta's emotions.
'Ginta, I want to tell you a story that has been hidden away for far too long. Perhaps it will help you temporarily forget about your worries for the tribe.'
Ginta nodded at his wolf's words and listened silently.
'A long time ago, the Kami came together in order to fight a great evil. However, they only managed to temporarily seal him in a tomb. Since they couldn't defeat the great evil they decided to create two single demons who could come together and defeat him. Yet these two demons didn't even get a chance to live their lives properly before they were hidden away. You see, a different evil being had risen and our two heroes were not even close to being ready for such a fight.
Unfortunately, the two demons were already hidden away before anyone could help them grow into who they are truly meant to be.'
Ginta nodded at his wolf's words and listened more intently.
'The first destined hero was able to pass through time and she was only a newborn pup when she got sent away. The great priestess Midoriko was able to hide her natural demon features along with her twin brother's as well. No one from the other time was allowed to know what the young demon truly was. Although sooner rather than later, she was brought back to her time and it became a problem for many years.'
Ginta nodded once more before he decided it was appropriate to ask questions.
'What happened to the other demon then?'
'The second demon became a lesser version of himself. His natural Alpha abilities were taken from him and his eyes changed as well. This young hero was also sent to a demon tribe far away after he went into hiding.
However, both of the demon heroes are slowly gaining their true attributes once more. Although it is a very slow and tedious process. Sadly, the process cannot be completed until the two have accepted who they are truly to one another. '
Ginta looked thoughtful for a moment.
"When will they be able to arise and defeat this evil they were originally created to defeat?"
'Legend states that a grand battle will be fought against the second evil. The good side will win but only temporarily, for there is a much greater evil that will reawaken right after this battle.
The first evil will arise only then because of the greatest alliance ever made through a single act of betrayal.
This alliance consists of one who is lost, one who is colder than ice, one who can pass through time, one who is a born leader, and one who has achieved much. One of these five will betray another member of the alliance to the point of no return. I cannot say who it is for it isn't within my power to do so.'
Ginta looked at Kenjin thoughtfully.
Kenjin just hoped Ginta wouldn't see through the lie at the end of his answer. Of course the wolf knew who was to get hurt, and he was preparing Ginta for it. If only the demon would accept the feelings that are arising. If he doesn't, then there will be more than one key event happening in their time.
A nefarious scent hit Kenjin's senses as he finished thinking and his eyes opened wide.
'TURN AROUND AND BLOCK!'
As Ginta turned around, he was barely able to dodge a sword aimed at him. He looked up and was met by red eyes in a black shadow.
"I see you were able to dodge my hit this time. Next time you won't be so lucky"
With those words said, the being with malicious intent disappeared into thin air.
Chills ran down Ginta's spine.
'Who in the hell was that?'
'It is the being I have told you about. His seal is getting weaker for the battle is nearing. As a representative of the Eastern Wolf Tribe, you are now a target for the great evil. Do not tell anyone about this occurrence. If the lands were to find out before they are meant to, everything will turn into chaos.'
Ginta wanted to argue. He wanted to tell Kōga of the occurrence. However, he found himself trusting Kenjin's words. If no one else was meant to know, then he wouldn't tell.
'Alright. I won't tell anyone of the occurrence that presented itself here today. Naraku is already a big enough problem.'
Relief flowed through Kenjin.
'Good. Now head back to the den. I sense that there is an event you need to be present for.'
With those final orders, Kenjin went back into the deep recesses of Ginta's mind.
Kenjin pov
I waited in the room I have inside Ginta's mind. Midoriko and I have much to discuss today. As I was thinking about it, the priestess appeared.
"Kenjin, you have called for me."
A frown appeared on my face.
"Yes I have. Arden is already taking physical actions. He attempted to slay Ginta. There is no knowledge of Arden knowing Ginta is the true Alpha of the Eastern Wolf Tribe. I can only assume it was a warning attack for the whole tribe."
Worry washed over Midoriko's face.
"Kagome hasn't even learned of the whole past yet. The two need to come together before we can do anything about this. Without the alliance, everything will surely fall apart."
"With Ginta denying his natural instincts, I can't do much more to help."
'From the sounds of it, I think I'm gonna have to push Ginta to follow his instincts. He's only holding back because of Kōga.'
A look of determination washed over Midoriko's face.
"You're going to have to tell him more of the real story then. Everything needs to fall into place soon. I'll take care of Kagome."
I nodded hesitantly and waited for Midoriko to leave.
Things were going to get complicated.
