Wolf Witch and Forks

AN: Been some time since the last update but again I am back on track. This one is Harry's POV, last chapter was jam-packed with plot and a whole new load of information this one is more filler in comparison. This story is finally taking some divergence from both canons. This is a shorter chapter but more to come the next one will be normal regular length.

A huge thanks to everyone who started following and favourited the story, it means a lot.

Chapter 13: Magicians Association

7:00 PM 5th Jan 1992, Abandoned Classroom 1C, Hogwarts

"Pig you are lucky to be alive!" Theo shouted with wide eyes and concern.

Harry had to suppress his laughter several times at the hilarious and incredulous expressions of his entire group of friends when Paul narrated his ordeal with his dramatic flair.

"Vampires, Shapeshifters and muggles! it is like a trashy romance novel my mum likes!" Tracey teased. Harry and Bella giggled as Paul huffed frustrated.

Daphne agreed "I think this is how muggles feel when they hear about us!". The playful banter at Paul's expense went on for a couple of minutes when Harry decided it was time to get serious, so he asked Hermione and Padma,

"Mione, Pads, can you help Bells in finding any books in the library about shapeshifters and vampires?"

"Yes!" Both girls replied immediately but Blaise interrupted Harry before he could thank them, "You know that you are not going to get anything about the Volturi in the library, right?"

"Why?" Paul questioned. Everyone was paying rapt attention towards Blaise who just shrugged before answering with a solemn face, "Volturi is the most powerful coven of the Italian Vampires and they are the arch-rivals of the Transylvanian Vampires who are under the control of The Count Dracula. As I am half Italian, I know some things about them but you have to be very careful. My mum said that I should never ask anyone about Volturi. It is a huge wizarding taboo"

Hermione was the first to break the uneasy silence which followed, "Are you saying that they are more than one kind of vampire?"

Surprisingly it was Padma who answered her concern, "Umm... hmm. There are two lines of vampires… both hate each other for some reason but I don't know why?"

Paul then asked anxiously, "I don't care, honestly! I am more concerned about the match with Hufflepuff tomorrow."

"PAUL!" rang out through the room. Neville who had not spoken till now then said, "I think we should still do some research; we do have some free time this month."

"I agree with Neville, Knowledge is power." Bella nodded her head in agreement. Harry grinned before saying, "Bells, you have been waiting to use that line!"

Everyone shared smiles before the conversation shifted, as Ron narrated the bizarre incident involving Hagrid and the books on Dragonlore during the winter break.

Theo was the first to share his insight on the topic, "I have a feeling that Hagrid is secretly planning to raise dragons"

Daphne punched him in the arm, "That's the most insane thing I have heard! How can you even think that! Maybe Hagrid was helping the Care of Magical Creatures professor Kettleburn with something! Theo be reasonable!"

"Reasonable! Big word Daph! I am betting one galleon that Theo is right" Harry tried to support Theo while Daphne just let out a defeated sigh.

Hermione, Bella and Padma were more worried for Hagrid as they believed that the gentle giant in question was foolish enough to breed Dragons in a wooden hut.

Paul, Ron, Blaise and even Neville were more excited about Theo's theory being true.

"Well, so we have Dragons, Vampires and Shapeshifters on the agenda for this term. Does anyone have anything else to add?"

Bells then spoke up, "Harry have you forgotten about the mirror you saw Hagrid carrying?"

Harry blushed with slight embarrassment, he had to admit the mirror was the last thing on his mind with all stuff that happed over the winter break.

Paul then said, "I think we should just visit Hagrid's hut on the weekend! It's like Hagrid is behind everything these days"

The gang agreed as Tracey asked jovially "We should give our group a name! Like those secret societies and clubs in storybooks"

All of them were a bit surprised by Tracey's out of the blue suggestion, with Paul pitching in his ideas first as usual, "I like that! Maybe something like the Avengers! Or the Olympians!"

"How Original!" Hermione commented dryly. Bella agreed, "One is from the silly comic books you read and the other one is too over the top, I mean Greek Gods seriously!" Paul just blew a raspberry at the girls.

Ron was next, "how about Gladiators or Armada?" The girls glared at Ron with Padma saying, "Have you ever heard of female gladiators, Merlin!" With Ron shot down, Harry knew this was going to be a long discussion. 'Thanks, Tracey!' Harry thought annoyed.

Tracey, then herself came up with some suggestions, "Gremlins or Furies or Devils?" Neville replied, "I kind of like Gremlins" but Daphne rejected it instantly, "Me a Gremlin! Trace that sounds horrible!"

Harry was sure he was going to regret this, "How about Magicians?" Everyone stopped tossing group names at each other and gave him some weird looks, Paul was the first to reply, "Magicians? Like the one, Renee hired for my birthday? Kind of hilarious don't you think?"

"It sorts of fits! we are real magicians after all" Hermione said after a brief pause the Pureblood in the group were still processing it. Then Tracey said, "I think we should stick with Magicians till we find something better."

Soon the newly minted magicians moved on to different lighter discussions such as Quidditch, Clubs and their assignments.

"Pince is going to be so strict with me as her summer recital is even more important than the last one" Bella complained earning sympathy as well as empathy at the same time. "Snape is already pissed that the Duelling team got third place in the annual championships, he is going to take that all out on me on the weekends" Harry groaned with Paul agreeing immediately.

The only other duelling club member of their group Hermione glared at both of them before saying, "Come ON! I am the one who suffers not you two idiots! You both getaway as you have Quidditch practice and pick up spells faster"

Before a full-blown argument could take place, Theo intervened, "Speaking of Quidditch, Slytherin is currently in the first place, we only need to beat Hufflepuff in February to win."

"No way, if Gryffindor wins against Ravenclaw in March and Hufflepuff tomorrow we win!" Ron said defensively.

"Ugh… quidditch again. Isn't there anything else to talk about?" Padma asked with a disgusted expression.

"Pads, everyone does not like Chess and books, some of us are into sports" Blaise answered with a smirk. Padma's dark glare could turn Blaise to ash in Harry's opinion as she said, "Are you sure, you are a Ravenclaw, Zabini?"

"Pads, stop spreading stereotypes…" Blaise's patronising tone amused almost everyone except Padma.

Tracey then reminded them about the time and how they should make it to their dorms before curfew. "See you all on Sunday at Hagrid's. Who is going to tell him that we are coming?"

"I'll do it, he has invited me and Harry for tea so many times…" Paul volunteered enthusiastically. Tracey then gave Neville and Ron a look, both nodded immediately. "What was that?" Paul asked with narrowed eyes. Tracey just grinned before saying, "Oh some extra security in case you forget…"

Everyone laughed at Paul's offended face before exiting the room.

9:00 PM 5th Jan 1992, Slytherin 1ST year Boys Dorms

"Potter, Nott" Malfoy approached him and Theo with a nervous expression. Harry had never seen the boy looking so humble and subdued.

Theo asked harshly, "Malfoy! Get Lost! What the bloody hell do you want?"

Malfoy replied softly as if overthinking his words, "I want in" It was more like a demand than request but both Harry and Theo were startled by the bluntness.

"Hmm… want in where?" Harry played clueless. Malfoy let out a frustrated sigh before saying, "Your little group, Potty"

"As if we would let in a rat-like you" Theo glared but Harry questioned the blonde with narrowed eyes, "Why? Don't you hate us?"

"Not hate…hmm more like disgust… but at least you lot have some brains more than Crabbe and Goyle. Plus, Swan is way better than Pansy" Malfoy replied arrogantly. Theo and Harry exchanged a look, they would need to discuss it with the other magicians.

"Fine Malfoy, we will ask the others…" Harry replied as he could feel Theo boreholes in the back of his head. As Malfoy left, Theo pounced on him, "Have you lost your mind, Harry? He has been horrible to all of us since the last term especially towards Hermione!"

"Theo I don't like him either but we should still discuss it!" "Ugh… be saint Potter! Slytherins with Gryffindor hearts! Merlin!"

With that, Theo shut his curtains while Harry just sat on his bed contemplating whether he had made the right decision in not outright rejecting Malfoy.

8:00 AM 6th Jan Breakfast, Slytherin Table, Great Hall

"Malfoy is not the only one! Pansy and Millicent were also bugging us last night about whether they can join Potter's gang! Can you imagine those three trolls together with us!" Tracey commented with abject horror.

Daphne was next, "I know all three of them since we were in diapers! Pansy was not this mean bully but a very shy girl who did not make friends easily!"

Harry was shocked as he never could picture Pansy Parkinson as shy. She was the most outspoken and rude Slytherin in their year.

Theo was about to put his two knuts in on how this was a terrible idea to include them when Bella came towards them from Ravenclaw table, "Good morning, guys! Why you are looking so annoyed this early?"

"Malfoy, Parkinson and Bulstrode want to join the magicians" Theo whispered. Bella to Harry surprise just smiled. Harry knew that look, "You are behind this mess!"

"Calm down Harry, I think all first-years have the first period free, we should discuss it with the rest of the magicians." The Slytherins agreed immediately all the while boring holes in Bella's back as she passed on the message to the others.

9:00 AM Abandoned Classroom 1C, Fifth Floor

"Are we expanding this club?" Ron asked. "I can't stand Malfoy or Parkinson!"
"Why not we take a vote on taking in new members? Susan Bones has asked me twice whether she and Hannah could join." Neville said as others nodded slowly in response.

"Same here with Parvati and Lavender even Fay, I can register it as an official student association but a new student society has not been founded in at least fifty years and also never by first years. There is also the matter we need a staff member" Hermione finished saying in one breath.

Everyone liked Hermione's idea, with many saying they could be the founding members. Padma chipped in, "We need to find a bigger classroom, need to set meeting timings, there is so much to do! But what would be the agenda of our club, we can't say that we come here to chat about Harry's next adventure?"

"OYE!"

Paul as if having a light bubble moment screeched, "We can be an obscure magic research club. You all were going on about how we need to find more about shapeshifters and stuff. This would be perfect."

Tracey gave Paul an unexpected bear hug, "That's brilliant Paul! We can also include inter-house social events by coordinating with other clubs! Now we need to find a professor who would sign off on the form."

"Hemione! Does it have to be a professor?" Harry asked as he knew exactly who to approach. "No, anyone on staff whether Faculty or non-teaching staff it does not matter."

"GREAT!" everyone was giving Harry weird looks but it passed as Tracey suggested the club's name, "Magicians Association or MA for short can be the name!"

This was getting more exciting by the minute as it would be the first time in Hogwarts history that first-year students were going to establish a new society or club in Hogwarts. "None of us are Hufflepuffs… do you think the badgers would complain that we are biased…" Padma asked with concern. That did mellow down their mood a bit as Blaise said, "Puffs are always whining… how I want to punch Zacharias Smith!"

Paul smirked, "I did punch him in the face Blaise… it feels incredible!" "Will you both stop being stupid for a minute" Bella huffed.

"We would conduct interviews and also take a vote. Now club positions, like the President, treasurer etc. I was thinking we should structure it like those muggle clubs with a monthly rotation of positions?" Bella suggested.

"Sure, that sounds interesting but for now only founding members can hold positions and new members after only a duration of let's say one term can apply for significant roles in the club." Daphne agreed and both girls with the rest went on to debate various sub-committees in the club.

"So, it is finalised, we are going official. Hermione, you come with me, rest of you should start rearranging the classroom or better yet find a larger room…" Harry said in a stern voice which stopped all inane discussions.

"Harry what are you planning? I know that look, all of you boys have that same stupid smirk when you are about to do something idiotic" Hermione asked with more concern than curiosity.

"Hermione, stop worrying! I have the perfect candidate for the adult supervisor of our club? HAGRID!" Harry enjoyed watching Hermione getting completely stupefied, "HAGRID! Really? Are you sure Professor McGonagall will agree?"

"Of course, he is a member of the Hogwarts staff and he has no other clubs. Only he sometimes assists Kettleburn with some Care of Magical Creatures stuff but that's it."

"This might work Harry! but I would have to include rare magical creatures in clubs' objectives as Professor McGonagall is very strict about it."

"Sure Hermione. Just tell me till when will you be done with registration and I have to bring Hagrid to McGonagall's office."

"Hmm, that you leave to me. Gryffindor's have only one class after lunch and I have three Gryffindor dunderheads with me to do the running for signatures and forms."

Harry sweatdropped, Hermione in a power position was an entirely different persona that he had never seen before.

5:00 PM Hagrid's Hut, Hogwarts Grounds

"Harry…you want me to become a club in charge?" Hagrid clarified for the tenth time. "Yes… Hagrid you are perfect for this…"

"But I can't use magic… I am not allowed…"

"You don't have to… just attend our meetings… answer some of our questions on magical creatures and that's it… you just have to sign the forms."

"But Harry?"

"Hagrid come on… don't do it for us… maybe do it for yourself? You are always saying that you want a reason to visit the castle more often and interact with students…. Please…"

"Hmmm… Fine Harry…"

"Thank you! Hagrid! Hermione was saying that she will also hold a bake sale for your rock cakes…"

"What 's a bake sale?"

Harry smiled in response.

6:30 PM Transfiguration Corridor, McGonagall's office

"Hmm… this is an interesting idea for a club…" Professor McGonagall's commented as she scanned all the forms filled in Bella, Hermione and Blaise's calligraphic Handwriting.

More than twenty forms needed to be filled and signed. Paul, Ron, Neville, Tracey and Theo had been running all over Hogwarts getting them signed from the headmaster to the Head Boy and Head Girl to the kitchens where the Chief House Elf stamped its approval on Padma's polite request.

They had sent Daphne to Snape, Bella to Flitwick and Neville for Sprout's signature as every Head of the house needed to sign their approval.

"Your efforts are admirable Mr Potter and Miss Granger… but I am sorry that I would not be approving your request…"

Harry felt beyond angry at the Transfiguration professor and Hermione looked close to tears, "Why?" Harry choked out with barely restrained disappointment.

Professor McGonagall's lips thinned, "Mind your tone, Mr Potter. Simply speaking you all are only first years and who would join a club run by first years? You all should wait till you are at least fifth-years to think about founding an organization. There is also the fact that this club is a hybrid of many other clubs and societies already at Hogwarts…"

"Professor can we please run it on a probationary basis. It will help the MA gain popularity and more members." Daphne said to everyone's surprise.

"Probationary basis… hmm... fine you have till the end of the term to prove that this club is needed and you have at least ten new members. Hagrid is an unorthodox choice for faculty mentor but it is after all an unorthodox club"

Shouts of joy and elation filled the room with Daphne receiving the most appreciation and cheers.

AN: This chapter might not be my best work but it did help remove my writer's block. Rest I assure you would be a lot better.
