This was a story request, the idea was not mine.
Quinn let out a sigh.
"We can do this, seriously." She said trying to calm down the short brunette standing next to her.
"You're sure we didn't need to bring supplies?"
"Yes I'm sure. Shelby said it was fine plus why wouldn't she have anything? It is her home..." The logical sentence seemed to slightly calm Rachel's nerves. "Don't worry, you're both adults. You can be civil." Rachel nodded, biting her lower lip.
"I haven't seen her since... Sophomore year. What if it's changed? What if she doesn't want me in her life anymore. Plus it's bad for Beth if she doesn't because then I could have an impact on her which will cause unresolved feelings in her life and I don't want to mentally harm your child. I know the long term effects of having someone never know you until it's too late and I don't want to do that to your child..." Quinn watched her girlfriend go into an extensive rant over the mental issues of her child while smiling. She used to find the sound of Rachel's voice to be like nails on a chalkboard and the idea of her going into a rant was something she dreaded... Or thought she did. Until she soon came to realize she was in fact head over heels for the girl. After moving back in with her mom, she had no problem with Quinn's nonexistent attraction to boys. And after endlessly waiting she finally found the courage to ask out the small brunette. Since then Rachel managed to talk her out of an insane plan to get Beth back... Quinn shook her head as she pulled herself back to reality as Rachel was on minute 5 of her speach.
"Rachel... Rachel!" Quinn said causing Rachel to be silenced as she pulled her focus to Quinn's green eyes. "It's going to be fine." She calmly said taking Rachel's hands into her own. "Shelby isn't going to have changed feelings. And even if she did your still going to be doing this because you're here to help me babysit. Beth is too young to remember you, especially if you only see her once. Trust me- It's going to be fine." Rachel nodded, visibly relaxing at Quinn's calming words before smiling as Quinn bent down to kiss her forehead as she rang the doorbell. After a few moments the door swung open to reveal Shelby in a sleek black gown. "Looking good Shelby." Quinn said causing the older woman to chuckle at the complement. Their relationship had grown into a slight friendship where a comment like this wasn't inappropriate.
"Thanks Quinn. Well you two can come inside... Quinn you've done this before so your already familiar with the layout and place of everything. You both have my phone number just in case... I think we're all good! So Beth has been sleeping but she'll soon be awake and hungry. Bottles are in the fridge and there's baby food in the cabinets. Instructions on how to cook them is on the cans. Do either of you have any questions?" Both girls shook their heads as Shelby walked by them, her heel's clicking against the floor. "Alright, then I'll be back at about 1."
"Have a fun night Shelby." Quinn said with a smile.
"Bye Shelby." Rachel said, with Shelby smiling at them both.
"You two are so cute together. Alright bye guys! Bye Beth mommy loves you!" Shelby said as she made her way out of the apartment and Quinn quietly closed the door before turning to walk to the peacefully asleep child. Rachel walked up behind her as Quinn looked down at Beth who was sound asleep.
"She looks so much like you." Quinn smiled. "But it's good you gave her up..." Rachel said to keep Quinn from trying to rob Beth in the middle of the night.
"Yes... It was." Rachel then kisses Quinn's cheek which pulled her focus to Rachel. "So why don't we just double check and make sure everything's here." Before turning towards the kitchen and looking in the cabnets. After both girls made sure they had everything nessecerry they walked to the couch and sat down. Rachel cuddled into Quinn as she released a sigh. "Well now we wait..." Quinn said looking at Rachel with a smile. "And it'll all be fine." She said before kissing her forhead.
