Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Soldiering On. Enjoy the 900-Word chapter. I don't own Hazbin Hotel, Viziepop and a few others do.

It was not something that was easy to deal with. How did one marry a man and then get… Used like a piece of worthless trash? How did he think that was ok?

No, Mayberry smashed the glass down on the counter, uncaring if it shattered to pieces under her demonic strength. She simply did not give a damn anymore. She had spent years being the dutiful wife, being the caring one who was always working for the family. And he HAD to ruin it because he couldn't keep his damn lustful perversions down, it HAD to be on their anniversary when it had meant the WORLD to her to celebrate it with him.

She still remembered the gunshots, shooting up the entire room and killing her husband… But Martha had lived, well… Lived until she had IMP kill the monstrous leech and send her down to her if she had to hazard a guess, one who had come down to her level.

The man upstairs didn't like people who cheated, so now ALL of their lives were ruined. Mayberry would feel bad if her husband hadn't done it without an inch of remorse.

"Lady, I think you've had enough." Mayberry heard as she slowly looked up at the demon. "You've been here over an hour, why are you still here?" Mayberry heard as she slowly rolled her eyes, her tail flickering back and forth as she did so...

It was rather amusing to her that anyone had gotten like this down here. It was hell, where was RULES a thing in this torn down society? Wait, she remembered that she had taught demons, ah yes… There was a modicum of rules down here, but it was something that was not really enforced, after all? What kind of demon would willingly bow to rules that hadn't been enforced?

"What about him?" Mayberry asked as she turned and looked to the side at one of the people next to her. "He's been here for 2 hours you said… You haven't kicked HIM out." Mayberry stated which was a fair point the demon had to consider.

He looked at the demon who was buried in his stool. He could tell it was a sinner, there was no way it couldn't have been when she thought about it. The signs of not understanding, the constant moping… Both were sinners, both had been brought down here by some horrid point of life screwing them over.

"Lady, what in the seven rings happened?" The bartender asked as Mayberry slowly picked herself up a moment later. "He came back from war only to go through the usual surprise." The bartender said as Mayberry slowly titled her head towards the man in question.

She was well aware of the 'usual' surprise that had come with things like being in the military. She winced as she knew what had probably been done and how it was almost IDENTICAL to what had happened to her.

"My husband cheated on me during our anniversary." Mayberry stated as she swirled the glass around her thumb. "The ONE day I expect him to be faithful, and he's jumping the bones of the first chick who slides into our house. In OUR bed, as if there is NOTHING wrong with it, NOTHING wrong with it to begin with. I'm so DAMN sick of this crap." Mayberry said as the other demon slowly picked himself up a moment later.

"Apparently nothing is. I get the call as I get shot in the chest by some moron who betrayed the platoon." Mayberry heard as the demon slowly dragged himself up from the bar.

"And what? You came down here after you got shot?" Mayberry sneered as the demon rolled his crimson eyes, seemingly uncaring of the jab at his spirit to begin with. "Least the woman who cheated with my husband is dead. She keeps parading around like she's some sort of grand hero." Mayberry hissed with venom and vile clear within her tone.

The demon blinked and looked at her with confusion. It was then he noticed that she had thrown something across the bar. He saw it plain as day, an anniversary box.

'So, someone was crappy enough to actually do that to her?' The demon thought.

He could only shake his head. He was sent down here just like everyone else had been sent to this accursed place. It wasn't somewhere he wanted to visit anywhere soon, and it was damned not where he had wanted to be put after years of service to his country and such.

But he guessed that didn't matter to anyone or anything anymore. He was fine with that, at least he could carve out SOME inkling of a life down here among the dregs of life.

Then again? He doubted anyone cared to be quite frank.
