After a few hours of sleeping after that tiresome day, Hilda then finally woke up with a big yawn and stretched her arms and legs very wide before getting off and patting Dagger on the head, who is sleeping right next to her bed before getting out of her room.
She then walked downstairs and looked around the downstairs area and saw that her mum was not there. She used to be there, cooking something at the stove at this time and now she's not there. Then she looked at the living room and then she saw Jared, drinking some tea on the couch while looking outside.
"Hey Jared, have you seen where did mum go?" Hilda asked, now starting to feel concern for her mum for the first time and then she sat down on one of the steps to anticipate an answer from him.
"Oh, she's just bedridden. I don't know how but all I know is that she's just sick." Jared says, dismissively, drinking his tea while he looks back at the kitchen before looking at the outside.
Hilda then felt another pang of guilt ridden in her and was about to go up and check until she heard a knock coming from the front door. She silently groaned in frustration and then walked down to see Jared opening the door and seeing someone in a French maid outfit.
She couldn't remember her from yesterday but something in her mind could make out a memory of her by pointing it's purple bits on the lower end of her hair and also shifted her attention to her.
"Oh, hello ma'am. I think you went to the wrong house." Hilda greeted, then walked up close to her near the door where she tells her that she might've been sent to the wrong house.
"Hello, madame. I am Kaisa and this is the right house, I believe." Kaisa then introduced herself to Hilda before telling her that this is the right house and then giving her the request letter, which shows her address.
After giving her the letter, Kaisa then looked at Jared and bowed down at him in a form of respect.
Hilda saw that and got confused over her doing that but then she read further and further into the request letter and saw that somebody had requested all of this to Kaisa and as she read all the way, she saw a signature but due to the fancy and unreadable fashion of the signature, she couldn't even see who signed this.
"This is the outfit as requested, sire." After Kaisa bowed down to him, she then greeted him with formality and respect which he then nodded while Hilda looks at her with some slight disgust at her actions before being told by Jared to come back inside to eat breakfast.
After they all got in, she then went first to Jared qcting like she's anticipating a command from him, like a dog when being called, and all of this is now weirding Hilda out but she's dismissing it, thinking this might've been the new standard for maids now since she hadn't been outside and hadn't seen the trends change yet so she thinks that's just new.
Hilda really didn't paid attention to Jared and Kaisa talking to each other and then went to the kitchen table and sat down on a seat before laying herself down with her arms on the table, waiting for her mother to come down.
"So Kaisa…. Why exactly are you here?" she asked with a bored and a little angry undertone in her voice.
"Oh, Jared asked for me to come, and he also requested that I come in a specific outfit." She answered with a smile.
Hilda then looked over at the outfit that Jared requested and saw that it was a basic French maid outfit and Hilda just nodded at it.
"Aren't you feeling a bit…. Cold in that? Don't you want a jacket?" Hilda continued to insist.
"Well… A little bit but I'm fine." She answered again, still with an innocent smile.
After seeing her innocence being used against her, Hilda hen sent Jared a stare with her blind eye, sending chills down his spine as he saw the scar hidden under the eyepatch and he just looked away in disgust.
"Say, Jared, why did you hire us a maid?" She asked, keeping her eye contact at him.
"I figured, since your mom was si-" he was suddenly interrupted.
"My mom wasn't sick yesterday." Hilda then told him, giving him a sting which his eyes only felt and is now scrambling to make up an excuse.
"Maybe it's just...tha-" Just as Jared was about to tell her the excuse, Johanna then went downstairs with a very hard cough before walking all the way down and laying down in the couch.
After laying down, still coughing loudly, she then gets her sight a little clearer and then saw Hilda, Jared and someone else she didn't recognize.
"Who's that?" Johanna asks, pointing at the other person she didn't know in the house before retracting her hand back to her mouth as she coughed again louder and louder than before.
"Miss, this is Kaisa, our new maid." Jared then introduces Kaisa to Johanna and seeing him introducing her to her mum made Hilda sickened in disgust but she just sighed loud and lets it through.
"Huh, thank God you brought a maid." Johanna thanked Jared for bringing over a maid to the house as she coughed another loud cough and now begins to make a loud sneeze as she tries to even get herself breathing correctly.
"Thank you, madame. Whatever you need is right here." Kaisa then returned the thanks with a welcome before bowing down to her before putting herself back up and making sure her posture is upright.
Seeing how her mum can accept this is already getting Hilda, first she allows a guest to the house to invite someone without her permission, then she saw how innocent Kaisa actually was and wasn't realizing what Jared is trying to do and now her mother is accepting her into the house.
Already gripping with anger, she then calms herself down and then walks over to her mother, coughing loud and wasting 15 pieces of tissue already, she sat down right next to her and then asked her why she did just that earlier.
"Mum, please tell me why you let a guest invite someone over without our permission?" Hilda asked, making a very confused face at her as she wanted to hear an answer from the only master of the house.
"Hilda….-" Johanna tried to tell her about what she did but she let out a loud cough- "I am getting-" She then coughed another loud one before sniffing in her sneeze- "Sick…….. Very sick, we would-" She then blew another big sneeze before grabbing a tissue to clean it up- "a maid anyways…." she said, holding a cough and also cleaning up the snot.
Hilda was still confused, until she was interrupted by a bark and a continuous growl. She looked into the room and saw that Kaisa, against everyone's best judgement was now crouched down, looking at Dagger.
"Aw, it's a very cute dog you have sir!" She said, raising her hand to pet the wolf.
Hilda called Dagger's attention with a snap of her fingers, and made a guest for him to calm down and let Kaisa pet him.
"Kaisa, this dog is actually mine, also this one is a wolf pup." Hilda then let Dagger be patted by Kaisa while also telling her that Dagger was hers and that it was a wolf, but it didn't deter Kaisa from giving Dagger a headpat.
Jared was seeing that Hilda was winning her over with her pet and is now trying to formulate something that could get her away from her and into doing something of his interest, and now he finds a good chance.
"Hey maid, can you cook us some breakfast?" Jared then knocked on the table to get her attention, "it's already 8 and a half, we're all hungry." Jared then pointed at the clock and then commanded her to cook them something.
"Yes sire." Kaisa then bowed down to Jared and then went ahead to the kitchen to begin cooking. Seeing her just bowing down to someone when she doesn't need to just annoys Hilda a lot but she's hungry too so she just let it through and then sat down in the chair and then waited for breakfast to arrive.
Meanwhile, David was now going down the street to Frida's place, carrying a couple books under his arm and with a confident smile on his face hoping he would help Frida out in her studies again. He knocked and it was answered in no time.
"Hello David," Frida said with a worried voice, "Are you better now? You had a breakdown yesterday and-"
"I assure you that I am fine now." he said, calming his friend down while scrambling to think of a sentence that would calm her down.
"Well, can we go to our house? Things are quite….intense here…." She said as she looked back inside, David then looked in with her and noticed that there was a broken chair on the ground, the table was flipped and there was a bunch of broken glass on the ground.
"What happened?" David asked, now worried for her wellbeing now as he looked back to her after seeing the house.
"...that's not your business, I have some things that need some help," Frida then tried to dodge the question by telling him that everything is alright and noe changing the subject by telling him that she has things that need her help, "Can you help me out on that?" Frida then buried his question further by asking him if he wanted to help her.
After hearing all of that, he then is now deciding on what to say. He really wanted to know what happened at the back but he wanted to help out her friend more than knowing what happened as he does not want to be involved in another family fight.
"Sure, I'll help you." David responded, smiling at her innocently and walking inside, ignoring the mess on the other side of the hall, and went to the stairs.
Frida smiled back at him and then both went upstairs and then they both entered her room and it still remained what it was yesterday but they went to her study table anyway and then David placed the books he brought at the table as Frida lit her lantern open.
"So, where did we leave off?" Frida asked, so she could remember where they stopped after David realized that it's Hilda's mother downstairs yesterday and she just needed to see if David could feel okay.
"I think it was math," David then tried to remember, thinking about math but then he doubts his memory, "wait, was it math?" David asked himself, doubting his memory before starting to overthink hard and is now back to losing himself.
"It is math, David. Please stop hyperventilating." Frida is now seeing all of this and then tried telling him herself instead and thankfully it got him to calm down and breathe normally.
After calming himself down, he then grabbed a nearby chair and then sat down with her at the study table while also opening the math textbook that he brought to where they were yesterday.
"So, where did we stop again?" David asked Frida, bringing the opened book closer to her while also smiling cutely and innocently at her, which got her smiling as well before grabbing the book and then pointing at where they left off.
"Around this part, I guess," Frida then stopped moving her finger around the page and then landed at where the page was relevant to where they left off, "hopefully it's this." Frida said to herself, doubting if she even got the good page.
"Alright then, let's start." David then responds with a warm smile before bringing the lantern closer to the books, making the place illuminated with a glowy yellowish white light.
Frida just rubbed her hair back and thanked him before bringing her notebook and then beginning to work on the problems where they left off. And as time passed, Frida and David then heard a bunch of pebbles being thrown at her bedroom window.
Worried about who is that person throwing rocks at her bedroom, they both looked out and then saw Hilda grabbing stones from her backyard, near the fence and then proceeding to throw more.
As David saw that blue hair of hers, he immediately ducked and then went back to the corner he crouched up in fear yesterday and did just as that. As Frida sees her friend breaking down in fear again, the rocks are now thrown and now they got inside, not hitting both of them but it did damage some furniture and she also ducked and moved to David.
As she then moved a little bit to sit beside David in the corner, she then kept hearing Hilda's screams outside which terrified her and now understood how she managed to whittle him down to a weak person.
"Frida! I know David is in there!" Hilda screamed, throwing another stone at her bedroom window, hitting a lampstand before landing on the wooden floor.
As she finally hid around the corner, she then saw David shuddering so hard that it basically froze him where he sat while he ducked his head down at his legs and cried quietly again as the rocks kept raining at the window.
As she sees her friend breaking down again, she then carefully crawled her way to the other side of the window and then tried closing it until she heard the stone walls of her house being pierced through, flinching her with a big fear of what that was.
She then carefully looked out of the window and saw that she was nowhere at the porch, as she peered further out of the window to find any sign of her blue hair around the street, still she found no sign. She then looked at David and as the powerful shaking at the wall still pierced through David's ears, he was still shuddering in fear as she was still wondering where she was until she looked down.
She looked down and then saw Hilda's angry but tired face using a knife to pierce through the walls and climb upwards while still screaming profanities at Frida, still peering out at the window.
She then jumped at the iron bars of the window but thankfully she dodged her jump and went towards the side to hide from her sight but she then rattled the bars very hard that it almost broke through while still screaming other profanities at both Frida and David.
"David! I know you are fucking in here!" Hilda then yelled inside the room, taunting them both with her arm now poking inside of the room and waving it around, "Frida, come on! Fetch him to me, you fugitive gin!" Hilda then aimed her comments on Frida, using slave slangs on her to intimidate Frida into bringing him over.
Even though Frida was very shocked at her friend's upbringing, she then got up and now decided to push her off the window without having to go near her. She then crawled towards David while Hilda still screamed the usual slang against her, and then now had to calm him down, which is now made harder now that Hilda is here but she has to try her best.
"David, David, please hear my plea," Frida then crawled up to David and then peered into his ear and whispered to him to listen to her, "I think I know how to drive her out." Frida then continued whispering to him, telling him that she knows what to do with Hilda and it got him to stop crying and then raised his head back up slowly to hear her.
"...yes?" David asked, still terrified at Hilda still bashing over the bars and hearing all of the profanities mixed in with what he did in the past, "What is your plea?" David asked again, now ready to hear her plan.
Hilda didn't stop screaming all the kinds of profanities and slangs she could, and while they were whispering their plan, she got a grip on the bars and was now on the same height as the window, holding herself tightly.
"Get the fUCK OVER HERE!" she screamed while bashing the knife through the bars. "I have a bone to pick with you!"
Frida then hugged David tightly while staring at Hilda and her blind, adrenaline filled her eyes as both stared at each other with tension.
"Go away!" Frida screamed as she could feel David shivering and sobbing.
Hilda didn't hear that and continued to bash on the grading, getting stronger with each time she swung the knife, until eventually she fell, barely getting a grip on the bars and pulling herself back up.
"Get the fuck over here!" Hilda screamed as she fell to the ground with the bars falling right next to her and as she landed on a bush, the bars had just landed right next to a passerby near the street.
As she got up, she then tried one last throw by throwing her knife at the window but her aim made it miss and fall flat in the porch before leaving, grudgingly destroying a bit of her front yard as a result.
After that, she then released her grip on David but then felt being gripped by David, still shuddering in fear, thinking that Hilda is now hiding, kept his grip on her. As he kept his grip around her, she then tried moving out but he kept his grip.
"David, Hilda's gone!" Frida, now beginning to feel annoyed at his tightened grip around her and then begins to push out his arms that were still wrapped around her, "now can you please take it off?" Frida then quietly tells David to release his arms around her as she then calms him down and then he begins to release his arms around her.
As David finally released his arms around her and then raised himself back up to where his back is now at the wall, he then began to breathe normal as he starts to think thoroughly now and then looks at Frida with a slightly frowned face for what happened before looking over at her stone-filled room.
"...do you want to go home now?" Frida asked David, again trying to carefully solve the situation.
David then just nodded and they both carefully went downstairs, and to their not-surprise, the moment they opened the door, Hilda was there, forcing Frida to make some effort to keep him going.
"What's up fuckers?" Hilda said expecting a reaction, however she was ignored but David felt that he was right all along but kept it quiet for now.
As they continued to walk, Hilda kept following and insulting them, which followed them all the way until they reached the end of the sidewalk.
"..and what power you think you have to tell me to stay away from him, you subhuman, freed slave, fugitive, n-" just as Hilda was about to finish her sequence of profanities, she was met with a strong punch in the face from Frida.
She fell on the road as everybody stared, Hilda was now on the ground, hands covering a bloody nose as she grunted in pain.
"Oww….oww" Hilda just groaned in pain as she got up, holding her hand up to her "...that was ha-" she was interrupted by David tripping her over as she tried walking back home.
"That is for…. E-e-everything…." he said feeling slightly more confident but feeling ever more anxious.
"Yo……… you mo-" she was interrupted by another punch, falling to the ground once again.
"Shut UP! SHUT UP! NO ONE CAN TAKE YOU ANYMORE!" as Hilda tried to stand up to Frida and grabbed her shoulder and pushed her back down "No, stay, stay on the ground!" Frida threatened, kicking her hard on the side before David joins in and also kicked her hard, both now feeling a surge of vengeance and confidence within them and they now started stomping on her.
Everyone was seeing all of it go down but nobody even dared intervened until Jared was with the crowd and then seeing Hilda basically getting beaten and then rushed himself towards them, hitting David first with a kick at his legs and then letting himself be tripped so he can collapse on Frida, knocking both of them out.
Then as David got up, he then placed his hand on his head and realized that he bumped hard on the concrete sidewalk and tried running away but Hilda then got up faster than he did and then grabbed him by the back of his collar before giving him the knickle, which triggered his trauma, making him paralyze to where he was standing before she lands another hard punch at his face before focusing on Frida.
As Jared then got up and tried to consult Hilda about what happened, Frida was still able to grab his arm and then pull him down so she could get up and face Hilda.
As both stand chest-to-chest to each other, a Redcoat then arrived and then split them apart while blowing his whistle loudly that everyone in the vicinity can hear it.
"Okay, okay, ladies. What's happening here?" A redcoat then asked with a loud and stern voice to Hilda and Frida while David and Jared went back to see both of them getting split apart together by a Redcoat.
"Who's going first?" Hilda taunts, taunting her that she would be the first to tell her side of the story which Frida, after being told of David's hardships, wanted that she should go first considering how much they've gone through.
As both of them then began arguing with each other about who's going first, the Redcoat then blew his whistle extremely loud for them to stop and then told David and Jared to restrain them from getting near each other while he tries to mediate the situation.
"Ladies…. The one with the Blue hair one first." The redcoat says, Hilda gave a smirk of superiority at Frida, making a pissed face after that.
"I was just minding my own business, doing my own things and then she decided it was a good time to punch me in the face." She then said, pointing at all the blood under her nose.
It's not my problem if you didn't see it coming" Frida replied while making an obvious reference to her damaged eye.
Hilda grunted in frustration and wiped the blood using her shirt while Fruda smirks back her own smirk of superiority.
"Now how about you, slave?" he asked, looking back at Frida while she also rolled her eyes at them still calling her a slave.
"She was following us, screaming profanities for at least a good 20 minutes, she wouldn't shut up so we forced her to." Frida then explained her side at the story, bringing David over and then having him tell his side of the story but instead he stayed quiet.
"So, this lady here was just screaming a whole bunch of profanities, right?" The redcoat asks, bringing up a note to list it down so he could understand what was going on.
"Right, most of them pointed at me but some of them are aimed at my friend here, David." Frida then told him, explaining that the cusses were aimed at both of them.
"Okay….so is beating someone to a pulp down the street able to compensate for someone disturbing the peace?" The redcoat said after writing down what he thinks about what happened according to them and then asked them if kicking her down compensates for some cursing.
"Well no…." Frida then told back nervously, "but I do know more acts that she might've been in, David knows." Frida then exclaimed that David knows the extent of what she did and then brings him over to have him tell what he experienced at her hands.
As he was told about what to do, he then went back to his memories and thought about what to say for a few minutes before telling the redcoat about what she did according to him as he wrote it down in his notebook while nodding along.
"So, you suspect her for burning down the church around 1745, correct?" The redcoat asked, wanting more information out of him as he wrote it down in the notebook.
"Yes, her eye is already proof!" David shouted, pointing at her eye which she just rolled her eyes
before looking back at the redcoat with a calm feeling now.
"You know, can we just like…." Jared then stands up and then tells them something which he thought up at the drop of a hat, "just call it off and go ahead with our day?" Jared proposed to the trio along with the redcoat, which just made them think a little before Frida opened her mouth.
"Come on, David. Let me just bring you home safely." Frida then told to the others before holding her hand on his arm and pulling him towards her direction as both of them walk to his home.
"Well then, thank you for that officer." Jared thanked him, making a smile as he complimented.
"Just doing my job, sir." He then replied to his compliment.
"What's your name, by the way?" Jared asked with an open palm, willing to know the man and greet him gently for his efforts.
"It's Alfur, sir. Also lady," Alfur then responded back with his name and then proceeded to ask Hilda something.
"Yes, sir?" Hilda asked as she turned her head around from her sight in the direction of where Frida and David walked away from him.
"I'd say you could visit a doctor because from what I heard from those two, you got a very hurt eye," Alfur then told Hilda about her eye and pointed it with concern, "I think it's the best for you and for your health, madam." Alfur said to Hilda with a smile before walking away from the street to return to his station.
"Well then, I should be going then," Hilda said to Jared, willing to go to the doctor on Alfur's request, "Should you come with me or not?" Hilda then asks him if he should come with her to the doctor's or not and it forces him to think something up or leave her awkwardly in silence.
"I...will be waiting for you back home." Jared then replied as he slowly placed his foot away from her. "See you later, Hilda." Jared then gave a short wave before walking back home shortly after.
After he left from her sight, she then just walked her way to the old hospital she used to bring Twig over before he died but as she arrived, the line was long again and she had to wait as the line began to shorten its length.
As she then arrived at the end of the line, she then looked at the employee who was there to list down appointments and as he saw her, he then listed it down and then gave her the paper which she looked at it was gonna be 5 minutes after the last appointment and she then moved off the line and waited at the waiting booth right near the line.
5 minutes later, she was then called by the employee that her time is now up and she then got up from her seat at the booth and then went ahead to the doctor. After walking over to the old appointment room where she brought Twig over, the doctor was back, with a mildly concerned look and a bunch of papers.
As he looked up to see who's the next patient, he immediately recognized that blue hair of hers but he kept his cool down and just placed the papers down at a desk before greeting her.
"Well, welcome back Hilda." The doctor greeted, still tired over the day while still making enough energy to give himself a smile on his face. "What brings you here?" The doctor asked while preparing for the chair so he could check in to whatever disease he would encounter from her.
"Well, it's obvious." Hilda then replied back, turning her head to the doctor to reveal the blinded eye.
As he finished preparing the chair for an operation, he then looked up and at her and then saw the eye, bandaged up to a cast.
"As you can probably guess, the eye was burnt to a crisp…. But… is that…. All you are concerned about?" The doctor asked, preparing to treat her eye and also anything she might've encountered.
"No, just the eye." Hilda responded back, as she then walked over and then sat down on the chair as it bent down.
"Oh, well then. Let's see what's wrong with it." The doctor blankly responded.
He then brought over a table of medical items available at the time to treat her eye. And as he carefully removes the cast, he sees the skin around her eye was in bags upon bags and it is stained with a white and purple stain cornea is stained with purple near the iris and almost all of the eye is covered by the cornea and the eyelid is deformed to all Hell and the eye is always half closed.
As he inspected it further with a magnifying glass,he just went back out, placed the magnifying glass over at the side and just sighed loudly as he had to look at it. It was the worst but not too bad from other patients he had encountered but that was the worst eye problem he had to deal with so he went back closer and wrote down his diagnosis for her eye.
And as he finishes up the diagnosis, he then writes down what he could describe before focusing on Hilda, who was already asleep as he did his checkup and his diagnosis.
"Hilda, I may have to do a checkup so," The doctor then wakes up Hilda up gently from her position when she laid down at the chair and she did wake up gently, "please stay awake." He then concluded for her to stay awake during the entire checkup because she is gonna have to give him permission to check in when it comes.
"Okay, sir. Just tell me what's wrong with me." Hilda then agreed and forced herself to stay awake as she then prepared over the checkup.
As he then prepares for the checkup, he then grabs one of the papers to see what should he start off with his checkup on her and then he decides to start with him checking her heartbeat.
"Madam, I may have to check your heartbeat so……" the doctor told Hilda he will start his checkup on her heart as a first and as he is trying to think of an explanation of the procedure he is about to do, he paused to think of how he would say it without sounding like a creep, "Could you please remove a bit of your coat?" The doctor then finally came up with a compromised way of having her listen to him for the checkup without being seen like a creep.
"...okay sir," Hilda just stayed at a pause for a while before complying to his command, unbuttoning a bit of her coat all the way to the end of the chest for him to do his work, "Don't worry, I'm not creeped out." Hilda reassured the doctor that she appreciated his actions for her ever since he tried to help Twig.
The doctor showed a face of relief before placing his ear right at the middle of her now exposed chest. As he very awkwardly tried to listen to the heart….he couldn't, which was weird considering the area was just skin and bones with nothing in the way.
He moved a bit to the left, no results…...then he attempted to move to the right and finally heard a regular heartbeat.
"That's odd…" he mentioned as he got up, trying to think of a reasonable explanation for this abnormality.
"Something wrong, doctor?" Hilda asked in slight concern as she looked at him slowly turning his face from confusion to total shock.
"Something...no...a lot of things are wrong….your heart shouldn't be at the right," the doctor tried telling her something that could get her to calm down but it made him more confused as he starts slowly getting dizzy over this, "wait, no...how are you born with the heart at the right?" He concluded further, still not reaching the tail end of the thing he just discovered.
"I don't know, I think I'm born that way." Hilda then told the doctor to give him any information about her heart and it also got her confused but not shocked. "My parents gave birth to me in the normal way, so what's wrong with it?" Hilda then tried to assure him she's okay by telling him that she was born the same way as everyone else so she couldn't have a defect with her.
"Wait, did you mention your family?" The doctor then found another path to a solution through Hilda's attempted reassurance.
"Well yes," Hilda then told him, confirming him, "Why so?" Hilda asked, seeing no way he could link her family to her abnormality.
The doctor then returned to the desk he just moved before the checkup and grabbed the papers and then flipped them one by one to see who her parents were and as he flipped through the papers, he then found a paper where his father had signed an appointment check.
And as he found it, he then took it out and then brought it to the checkup seat for light and then as he examined the check, he then found out that Johanna's family ancestry has stretched itself a long way back to the 1690s and that her dad's family too stretched that far but it was only around the 1700s and as he read further into the family tree, he realized that their family trees have been tied to other families as well.
As he continued reading, Hilda also took a look into the paper and as she read further into the paper with her doctor, she then saw that as the left of Johanna's family tree branched out, it then runned itself to another family where it then stretched to the end of the branch, Jared.
"Is that Jared at the very end of the branch at the extreme left?" Hilda asked, interrupting her doctor before pointing her finger at the paper where the family trees lay and it showed a small portrait of Jared in the branch, "Thank God, he never went along with me." Hilda then gave out a big breath of relief as she exhaled a big breath fròm her nose.
And due to her pointing out that the person she pointed out, Jared, is somehow connected to her mother, the doctor then continued his way into searching for other families tied down to this mess of the two trees, he then found out that the family trees even extend down to the roots which is just a mess.
"Well, I have…...extremely bad news…." he said while backing off to get a clearer view.
"What do you mean bad news, doctor?" Hilda urged with a worried tone and a concerned face, now allowed to get up from her seat after being told to button herself back up.
"Well, you know how brothers…. cousins and parents usually are not supposed to have coitus?" He explained, trying to appear formal as Hilda nodded "Your family tree….kind of definitely ignored that."
"What do you mean?" Hilda asked, turning her face into a total mess of realization and confusion and shock at the same time.
"It's a total mess, basically it's a yarn ball, look!" He said as he ran his finger over one of the lines "It makes a fucking circle, family trees SHOULDN'T make circles."
"Wait what…." Hilda just said, leaving a widened eyed face to respond to this shocking news.
"You are the result of…." he counted silently, "consecutively 45 generations of inbred incest, and this is only the ones we can trace back to!" The doctor then concluded with an exclamation.
"...does that...affect me with anything?" Hilda just left with a worried question about herself, too speechless to even try to talk back to him.
"Well this explains the weird heart placement, the blue hair, actually it can even justify your behavior changes and maybe your infertility," the doctor then tried to give her an explanation for all of the abnormalities that she is born with but now he sounds crazy at this point.
"Wait, you tried to tell me that I'm sterile?" Hilda tried to counter his conclusions, trying not to believe that she is sterile considering her age and her standing in life, "Sir, I know that might make sense but now you just sound crazy." Hilda then tried distancing herself from whatever her doctor was trying to conclude.
The doctor then calmed himself down before thinking of a new variable that leads up to this and after thinking for a minute, he then realized a big factor to why she had no chest and why she was sterile, according to him.
"You don't have a breast, right?" The doctor asked, now sounding extremely crazy to her but he knows this is the last conclusion that he got from his checkup.
"Well yeah, didn't you see that when I unbuttoned my coat?" Hilda was now on the edge about his conclusion and now it was enough so she then got up and was about to walk her way out until her doctor interrupted her which got her annoyed even further, "Now what?!" Hilda just screamed, already tired of his conclusions and now has to listen to his ramblings again.
"Okay, so due to your fucked up family tree, maybe that is the reason you don't have a breast is that your family has turned off your reproductive hormones and you may have a high chance of infertility so…." The doctor then gave out his final conclusion to Hilda before giving her the appointment check with everything he had uncovered so far, "good luck with your mum, I hope you both get along well." He then just greeted her 'good luck' and then he went back to his seat to wait for the next patient.
After receiving the check, she then just left the hospital and then walked her way back home and as she walked back home, her first thoughts are to ask her mum about the things she just heard from her doctor before moving on to Jared to tell him about their awkward situation.
As she entered the house, she then saw her mother still laying on the couch sneezing loudly while Jared was just waiting at the dinner table for their lunch as Kaisa cooks the food.
"Mum, can you please explain this?!" As Hilda got in, she screamed at Johanna and she was quickly awoken with a fright as she coughed hard and gave out a loud sneeze before looking at her daughter in disdain.
"Hilda! Why do you have to scream at the sick?!" Johanna screamed back, knowing that was a disrespectful move of just screaming at the sick who is trying to recover. "At least be more gentle around the sick this time." She then said with a deeply growled voice as she looked at her with disdain.
"I just visited the old doctor today and he gave out a very peculiar check about my birth." Hilda then exclaimed that the doctor they used to bring Twig over had found out the consequences of her birth as she gave the check for her to read for herself.
Meanwhile, Jared was just waiting silently at the table and as soon as she mentioned her birth, he turned his head around to the side of the living room so he could listen to whatever they're arguing about.
"This is just plain ridiculous," Johanna cried out at the check, "I do not recall you experiencing any of those abnormalities that the bastard of a doctor is diagnosing you!" Johanna then continued to cry out about the check by insulting her doctor's profession which just drove Hilda mad that she's denying it.
"Well I don't recall having to see my mother fucking my uncle!" Hilda then howled out a big comeback but it landed weak but it also did made the message across to her that she has to deal the decades of incest that occured in their family tree.
"This check is nothing but a check! Why would I believe a che-" Johanna paused for a bit to cough out some spit before continuing- "a check that anyone can say a-" Another loud cough coming out of Johanna as she paused herself again to cough it off before continuing her rant- "about our family without any proof at all!" Johanna finally finished her rant now with a very hoarse voice, just showing off to them that she's getting weaker.
"Well then, does this count as 'a check that anyone can say about us'?" Hilda was prepared to show to her mum the truth about her family tree and brought out both the appointment check of her birth and a picture of their family trees to her.
As she grabbed it from her with mistrust, she then slowly reads the appointment check and then looked at the family tree and began reading it silently and as she read further and further, she then slowly realize that whatever Hilda was stating was correct and it was incest, but as the deeper she reads, she then sees the "yarn ball" family tree of theirs and her late husband, shocking her further and further as she looked outwards to the image.
Jared was watching it all down and as soon as he heard that a family tree of their family has been provided, he then got up from his seat and then walked towards Hilda and then sat down with Johanna to read along and he is also shocked that as the deeper down they go from the tree, the roots slowly begin to circle each other back and as he reads deeper, he also found out the yarn ball that was her mother's family and just backed of from her as a result.
"What….the…...fuck" Jared was all speechless after seeing the family tree and that is all he could say.
"See, even Jared is disgusted over this thing." Hilda then pointed out and just facepalmed herself just to try and understand how could her mother accept the fact that one of her old relatives are having a sword and shield fight in the bed in the past.
After this, an awkward silence settled in and everyone was just too speechless or too mad to even try to make a new conversation until Kaisa tapped the bell on the kitchen counter.
"Masters, your lunch is ready." Kaisa then told them that she had finished cooking their lunch and had already placed them at the table. "And my sire, here is your tea as requested." Then she grabbed a teacup of the tea he requested and then gave it to him like a king.
Hilda was understandably a little mad but her mind is still thinking about the check and on her mother so she then just let it slide before getting her mum up so that they could eat lunch in total silence.
As they all then prepared their plates and slowly ate their lunch, both Hilda and Johanna had their eyes on each other as Jared kept eating, still having his eyes on the two, still wanting to know the backstories between the two as lunch passed on.
