Hilda finally returned home after a long school day of classes, homework, and dealing with her former friends and the Trolberg High Dean, she has had enough and is wishing that here at home, she can just relax from what happened at school.

She opened the door and walked inside but it was still empty, there was still nobody around, but she could swear she heard a conversation going on upstairs.

She carefully closed the door, to not disturb them, and proceeded to walk upstairs quietly so she could hear what they were talking about up there.

She did went upstairs and went towards where the noise is coming from, and it was all coming from Johanna's bedroom, and she started to make out where they were discussing inside.

"Okay, so how do we know this cheque came from your family?"

As Hilda closely listens to the wall, she realizes that the voice was a familiar one. She listened closely for confirmation and after a few more responses, she concluded that the doctor from earlier was inside.

"So, can you tell me whose signature was in it, then?"

Hilda heard from behind the wall and that soft voice that was heard made her conclude that Kaisa was also inside as well.

Hilda then peered into the room and saw Kaisa, Jared, and the doctor discussing about the cheque near an open window -to keep out the miasma- and who would've paid the doctor to check on Johanna.

Meanwhile, while Johanna had to listen to their arguments about the cheque, turned her head to the right and as she rested her eye on the angle she laid on, she saw Hilda's blue hair peeking out into the doorframe as Hilda peeked further in the room.

"Hilda?" Johanna said but the soreness of her throat made her pause a few seconds before completing her sentence.

Even though the voice was coarse, Hilda heard that and so did the others in the room.

Hilda quickly hid and rested her back on the nearest wall parallel to the bedroom door to hide herself from the others.

The others discerned that even during their loud argument and went towards Johanna to ask her what did they say because even if it's audibly heard, they couldn't make out what she said.

"Wait, what did you say?" Jared asks in surprise.

"Hi-" Johanna tried to speak out what she said but gave out a hard cough before continuing- "Hilda…" She finally continued and it shocked the others that Hilda finally came home at this hour.

Back at the wall, Hilda was surprised that the others have been alerted by her presence and deciding to not make the situation worst, she just walks inside to defuse the situation and hopefully get everyone satisfied.

"Hilda!" The others exclaimed in relief.

"I know about that cheque, I've heard of it already." Hilda said because she thought the cheque they were mentioning was the cheque that proved that incest had gone through her family tree.

"Well, this time it's different."

The doctor then gave Hilda the cheque and as Hilda held it and began reading it thoroughly, she slowly starts to realize that this wasn't the same cheque and it was a paid endeavor -550,000 Pound Sterling- and it was all signed by a signature she couldn't make out due to its complexity.

"Jared, who signed this? I can't make it out with the stupid scribbles all over the place." Hilda complained as she showed the signature of the cheque to him.

Jared then grabbed the cheque and checked the signature and gave himself a few minutes to fully examine it and after a while, he now knew who signed the cheque.

"This cheque was signed by Jane Haustad, mother of Jared Haustad." The signature reads.

"Wait, so your mother did this?" Hilda asks in bright discontent of their action.

"According to the cheque, yes."

Jared placed the cheque down on the desk and sat down near the bed to think about why his family was involved in this.

"So if they paid you to check on her, then why did you accept?" Hilda turned to the doctor and asked sternly about it.

"Well...they paid good money for it and also they were worried about your mother! Shouldn't you also be worried for her too?" The doctor replied back with his answer.

The room went silent, the wind starts to quickly fill in the room as Hilda began to think about what to reply back to the doctor but she slowly starts to think rapidly since her options were limited and -even though she didn't care much for her mother- began sobbing a bit over the potential death of Johanna.

Kaisa noticed that and walked over to her and sat down with her and began to calm her down before she could continue.

The doctor noticed that too and began to feel a little sympathy for her as her tears reminded him of when she was crying out for Twig's health back when she was just a kid.

Jared saw that too, like the others, but instead of helping her out, he instead saw an opportunity he could use for his own benefits.

Jared went over to Hilda's side and sat down with her and helped with Kaisa in keeping her calm.

"Hey Hilda." Jared said soothingly to Hilda in a calming voice.

"Yes?" Hilda responded while rubbing away a tear in her eye.

"Maybe you had to visit my family, maybe you can get an explanation out of them." Jared explained as he placed his hand on Hilda's.

Hilda looked at him with a now dried face and thought about his idea thoroughly before nodding along to it.

"Great! Maybe we can start tomorrow." Jared responded happily over her response and hugged her, which she follows along, now that someone is able to help her out.

"Well, maybe can I co-" Kaisa tried to suggest to Jared that she should go with them too but he shushes her immediately and she listens because it's supposed to be her job.

"No thanks," Jared says, "We need someone here to take care of the mistress, right?" Then Jared baits Kaisa into saying yes by mentioning Johanna in the question.

"Yes, master." Kaisa begrudgingly says yes.

"Good, now that's settled." Jared murmured to himself.

"Hey doctor." Jared points to him.

"What do you want?" The doctor sighed before answering back.

"Tomorrow, me and Hilda will be at my family's place, so could you do your duties as doctor?" Jared requested so that they could look over Johanna while they were away.

"Yes, I still needed that money and I do have deep concerns about Ms. Foulkestone, after all." The doctor responded with an acceptance to his request by telling him his intentions.

"Very well, looks like we're all good." Jared concluded that, now everyone has something to do, they will be all set.

Meanwhile, on the sidewalk, David and Frida were walking back home after that tumultuous day at the school.

"So, what do you wanna do back home?" David said, trying to lighten her mood.

"I don't know, maybe dealing with your father, at least." Frida replied back with a cynical comment.

"Oh, then do you wanna go somewhere else?" David pulled back due to her comment. "Somewhere where we can relax, we still have a few hours left until suppertime." David added, trying to ease up Frida's mood.

"...sure, I guess." Frida replied back with a simple answer. "Where do you wanna go then?" Frida then asked him about the location of their relaxation since he suggested it.

"Oh….."

David began rubbing the nape of his neck, trying to think up of where to go, which made Frida lightly giggle on his nervousness.

"Uhh...do you wanna go to some pastries here?" David finally thought of where to go and asked.

"Sure, thesome pastries would be better than whatever shit the cafeteria is feeding us." Frida agreed and remarked on the horrid food choices the school provided for them.

David nodded along and walked with Frida towards the nearby bakery and stayed there, eating some bread, cookies, and pastries for the entire afternoon before they decided that enough was enough and went back home.

They went inside and closed the door behind them and walked towards the living room where they sat down and rested since the house was empty.

Then one of the doors in the house opened, creaking up some noise that got their attention.

"How are you, Frida?" Henrie said as he placed the hoe right next to the door.

"Hi, dad." Frida greeted before going up to him and gave him a short hug.

"So, how's school today?"

Frida turned her head back to see David and he was a little squeaky on what happened at school, so Frida responded with a simple "It's fine" before giving him a pat in the shoulder.

"Frida, I can see that head turn." Henrie said, knowing she was probably skimming over what happened.

"Oh…" Frida muttered before rubbing her right arm in regret from the reminder.

"Look, I get it if you had a bad day at school, it's unsurprising considering our race, but I hope your friend can help you out with that." Henrie then gave out a calm assurance that he's fine with what she said about her school day.

Frida smiled at him for his calm demeanor on her so-called lie and gave him a warm hug, which made both Henrie and David happy about it.

"Well, do you have any homework today?" Henrie asked after their warm hug.

Frida turned her head again towards David, who was paying attention, with a questioned face about school activities.

"I think uhhh we may have, I don't know, I didn't listened." David admitted before raising his hands up in the air, palms laid flat, to signify his response.

Frida just facepalmed in response while Henrie lightly giggled at it because he was once like him before.

"David, please." Frida said, imperatively, "If you want me to help you out on your homework, then please, remember them as well." Frida explained before giving him a book that was what the homework was about.

David was quickly surprised about the sudden appearance of what their homework was about and rushed upstairs with the book in hand to finish it.

"David, wait!" Frida shouted so he would wait for her but to no avail.

He's already upstairs.

Frida sighed sharply under her breath and went upstairs, prompting Henrie to go back to the field and to the shed that was built with their hands along with Mary's.

Henrie walked inside the shed and went towards the sofa -which even though it was not bad by their standards of the time, it was still rickety at best to near disrepair at worst- and laid down on it, resting after a long day.

"How's Frida today?" Amelie asked as she sat down right next to the sofa near Henrie's face.

"She says she's fine, I hope." Henrie replied with a big yawn following it.

Amelie looked back at him with worry. "Well then, let's rest for the night, we've done enough today."

Amelie sat down right next to Henrie and soothed his head to make him rest a little lighter.

Meanwhile, back at the house, Frida and David were doing their homework upstairs, solving a theology analysis about the book of Leviticus along with a summary assignment on the history of heliocentrism.

While David was focusing on the summary, Frida did the theology analysis and while reading the chapters inside, she was convinced that one of the rules set in the book should be applied for Trolberg.

Frida turned over to David. "Hey, how's the summary going?"

"Oh, it's doing good, I guess." David replied. "Maybe when you're done with the Leviticus, could we swap homeworks so we know what we answered is correct?" David suggests.

Frida nodded along before going back to analyzing the Leviticus.

Back at Hilda's house, Kaisa cooked some dinner for the house after the whole debacle upstairs.

While she cooked dinner at the kitchen downstairs, Jared and Hilda are talking about their parents in her bedroom, in anticipation for their meeting with Jared's parents.

"Yeah, I kind of understand why your mother had to do that." Jared responded after Hilda told him of the time where she was grounded to the attic after she burnt down the church.

Hilda chuckled at his understanding and gave him a truthful smile for once in her life.

Jared smiled back at it in response. "So, where's your father? I've never seen him around."

Suddenly, Hilda froze at the mention of her father and sat silent at his question, making him worried over what happened between her and her dad.

"Hello?" Jared asks, waving his hand in front of her face for a response.

He pulled his hand out, thinking she wanted to be silent about it btt he took one more look into her face and saw a tear flowing down from her right eye and he felt her hand balling up a part of his trousers.

He sensed that she was rather...melancholic about it and simply hugged her left arm because of it and stayed there for a few minutes until he's ready.

"...may I ask who your father is now?" Jared asks, feeling that Hilda might be done fixing herself before answering.

Hilda sighed and sniffled before she rubbed off a few teardrops from her eye. "...why do you wanna know?"

Jared suddenly became quiet for a few minutes, pondering for an answer that leads to him winning out in the end, and after a few minutes, he got an answer.

"Well…I'm just worried for your mother and I'm concerned that he hasn't come back yet."

Hilda finally got herself together and took off her arm off of Jared's arms to finally tell him how her father wasn't around anymore.

Hilda sighed sharply. "He died from a duel."

Jared quickly felt himself being shot when she said it. He is just shocked at how her father ended up and felt like he was ready to go on a full rant on duels.

But he kept his cool and prompted Hilda to keep going on how it happened.

Hilda balled a piece of her blanket before continuing. "I don't remember much of what happened but I remembered walking with my dad down the old market right near the church.

"I think we were talking about what I wanted from the market until someone tried to pull me away from him."

Jared was suddenly paying attention, because before that, he was rolling his eyes all over the place, but now he wanted to know what will happen next.

"Then I remembered my dad pulling me back before I turned my head towards the man, then I heard his name." Hilda continued on with a continuing shaky voice as she progressed, forcing Jared to keep listening.

"Did you know who it was?"

Hilda placed her hand around her chin, trying to remember what happened before resuming.

"I don't know, I don't want to point the finger here," Hilda says, trying to not blame someone.

This thought brought Jared to anticipation, wanting to know who it was because she hesitated.

"But the man I remember was, from what I heard, was Erik Ahlberg."

Jared was immediately pushed aback by this, he was fazed that the man who killed her father was the current Trolberg Safety Guard.

"Wait wha-" Jared responded back with a shock but was shushed by Hilda, who was about to explain.

"Look, that was 7 years ago, he was probably a recruit." Hilda explained.

"Wait, hold up." Jared timed out and raised his hand, trying to understand what she explained.

Hilda stayed quiet and Jared slowly lowered his hand.

"So, how old are you now?" Jared asks.

"16."

"And how old are you 7 years ago?"

"9, I think."

"Okay, so he tried to snatch you, a minor, from your father?"

"Yes, but-" Hilda interrupts, trying to bring up the bigger picture of the event.

"And he challenged you t-" Jared continued until he was interrupted.

"Jared, please, that is not what he just did."

Jared simply went quiet and waited until silence took over the room to finally let her continue.

"As I was saying, from what I could remember, he pulled me back and brought out his weapon and pointed it at him."

Jared was shook by this sudden escalation of events and was wondering how the crowd wouldn't bat an eye on it

"And soon, he pulled his weapon too and tried to pull me back towards him."

Jared was just speechless on the escalation occurring and is hoping that it might be settled.

"Then, I think he was shouting at him, saying that I was too precious to be his father and that...and that…"

Hilda kept pausing herself, trying to hold it in, holding back herself from going to tears.

"Then what happens next?" Jared kept saying over and over while Hilda paused herself, wanting to know how it went down.

But she couldn't.

She can't continue without making her shed a tear in her eyes, making the room go silent and leaving Jared without an answer.

Jared went over to Hilda's side. "Hilda...are you okay?"

Hilda didn't respond, her mind overwhelmed with memories of the event, and she continued to silently sob while her mind replayed the duel in her head.

Jared notices this and simply gives her an embrace and she embraces him back, letting all of her tears put in a sorrowful sob while Jared pats her back to empathize with her.

Then he heard Kaisa downstairs, calling both him and Hilda down to dinner.

"Not now, wench!" Jared shouts to the direction of downstairs.

Back downstairs, Kaisa winced at his response and just nodded at it before going to the table and waiting for them to come down.

The doctor, who was with Kaisa downstairs, overheard that and was surprised that she just accepted that and moved on, just like that.

"Hey, Ms. Hammarlund." The doctor said, approaching Kaisa.

Kaisa looked up from her plate to his face, "Yes, sir?"

Then the doctor calmly sat down on the other side of the table before looking at Kaisa with a somewhat concerned yet stern face.

"Did you just hear what he said?"

"Uhh, yes."

"How did you just accept that and move on?"

For a moment, his face slowly turned red in anger but as he looked at Kaisa's face, she looked scared, like she was acting subservient to him even when he didn't need it, and so relaxed his face afterwards.

"Well...well…"

Kaisa tried thinking of a reason she shrugged Jared's response earlier but as time went on, she realized that there is no reason.

"I don't know."

After giving up, Kaisa then bowed her head in perceived shame.

"Look, miss. Don't feel bad about yourself, it's not your fault."

He then got up from his seat and walked towards Kaisa where he calmed her down by patting her shoulder.

"Then whose fault is it, then?" Kaisa said, trying to understand what the doctor assured.

"It's Jared, I know it's his fault."

Rest assured, he explained to Kaisa how Jared was being rude to her and taught her how to respond back to responses like that in order to not be manipulated into his hands.

Meanwhile upstairs, Jared and Hilda resumed their talk about Hilda's dad after they both agreed to not talk about the duel and move forward to other topics related to him.

Jared humbly giggles, "wait, so he found a barghest that was rumored to have eaten people and he just spat them out?"

"Yeah, he did tell me that!" Hilda exclaimed while laughing to herself about it.

Jared quietly finishes giggling but Hilda cannot finish it, her laugh was just contagious and Jared can't help but gingerly laugh with Hilda as she slowly starts to dissipate her laughter.

"So, what else did he find out there?" Jared asks, wanting to know more about her father.

Hilda forced herself to stop laughing to answer his question, "well he said that he found trolls that turn to stone by daylight, elves who only cared about paperwork and nothing else, giants taller than the mountains and even the sky."

Jared found himself nodding to this, thinking that these accounts of what her father ventured outside the walls was truthful but he quickly dismissed it as folktales and continued listening, still finding himself nodding along with it.

"He found these fuddly little things called nisses whom you can't see because they hide in the nooks and crannies of areas we can't see or reach to."

"Wait," Jared says, raising his hand up.

"How did he know any of this and are any of them true?"

Jared squints his eyes towards Hilda in doubt because the stories slowly start to sound overtly fictitious.

Hilda brushes the side of her hair before responding. "Well he was venturing out there and sometimes he'd bring me along with him."

Jared nodded to it, being responded with the truth.

"And also it's his stories, so what can I do but praise my father for it." Hilda added, excusing his father for making such wild stories.

Jared nodded in response. "Alright, please continue."

"Then, while we stayed at a cabin out there-"

"Hold up,"Jared interrupts, being surprised that a woman is allowed to stay in a cabin.

"You guys lived in the cabin, out there in the poultry countryside?"

Hilda was shocked that she lived in the country and was taken aback by his response.

"No! Not there, we stayed in the wilderness up until we had to move when I was...5...or 6"

Trying to remember, she pauses her explanation and tries to think about her age when she lived in the cabin once.

"Yeah, I think I was 6 back then," Hilda finishes.

"So, how's the cabin back then?" Jared asks.

"Oh, it was comfy, and sometimes there's the occasional woodman walking into our house without knocking."

"Wait," Jared interrupts, "what do you mean by 'occasional' on the woodman part?" He asks.

"Ohh," Hilda dawned on herself, "so woodmen sometimes when there's a neighbor, they sometimes walk on it without anyone's notice."

Then right at that moment, someone opened the bedroom door.

Jared and Hilda turned their heads around to see who opened it.

It was Kaisa.

"Umm, your dinner...is ready."

Jared nodded and prompted Hilda to go downstairs and continue her account of her father's ventures at dinner.

Both of them arrive downstairs and went to the dinner table and sat down on opposite sides of it while Kaisa delivered the plates.

"So, Hilda," the doctor said, surprising Hilda that he was here.

The doctor sighed and looked at her. "How's your mother up there?" He asked.

"Oh, she was fine I guess."

Hilda then brushes her hair at the side to signal nervousness because she was too busy talking with Jared about her father that she didn't check up on Johanna.

The doctor gave a face of doubt before setting up his plate and utensils for dinner.

After a moment of silence while Kaisa unloads the food off to each of their plates, Jared decides to break the silence by letting Hilda continue talking about her father.

"Say, Hilda," Jared opens, "would you mind continuing what you were saying up there?" He requests.

Hilda accepts and she continues on talking about her father and trails off on how a giant stepped on their old cabin and then being forced to move to Trolberg and finishes it off with her remembering her father telling her that he's gonna rebuild the cabin after he gets his lumber.

The doctor was just listening in and was fascinated by how her father had to endure all of that with her mother and still remain loyal and caring while Jared was just listening to it one ear out of the other.

"Question," the doctor politely interrupts, "how come your father is not here now?" He asks.

Hilda suddenly froze again and just didn't respond to that question for a minute.

He was slightly concerned that she just froze in position and prompted himself to ask what's wrong.

"...what happened?" The doctor said with a concerned voice

She never responds back, her mind being suddenly refilled back with memories of the duel, and just continued eating her dinner with a sob flowing down her cheek.

The doctor was extremely concerned because he knows that what he said may have an effect on Hilda by looking at her face and he decided on pressing further.

Jared, who was already finished with his meal, decides to stop him from pressing because he knows that she wasn't comfortable talking about it.

"Sir, I think you should probably not ask." Jared says.

"Why?"

Jared makes a loud sigh. "I think she's not in her right mind when talking about it and also, she wasn't keen on telling us what happened with him."

Hilda heard that and after conflicting with herself for a while, decided that she should disclose what happened between her and her father because she sensed that the doctor was worrying for her sake and chose that she should help.

"Well…" Hilda opens up before eating a piece of pork.

Hilda then began retelling the duel to everyone, using the constant memories that flooded her mind before as basis for the retelling, throughout the entire evening.

Meanwhile, back at the Ferguson estate, Frida was just ranting on how a piece of the Leviticus could be applied in today's situation while David was just busy finishing up his summary analysis.

"You know, Chapter 11 should be necessary for this town, I mean look at those animals running about in the streets!" Frida ranted, using a chapter in the book to get her point across.

"God, it makes me sick."

David looks at her dubiously, thinking that she should focus on the homework rather than rant about uncleanliness, but he also thinks that Frida does have a point, agreeing with her point that Chapter 11 could be applied for the town.

"Really?" David asks.

"Yes! Please read this part to see what I mean."

Frida then gave David the book that was their assignment on the Leviticus and after reading a few verses in the chapter, he slowly nodded along the points written in it.

"So?"

"I think I agree with what you said, this city really needs a cleanup."

"Yes, we really need to tell them to keep the animals in their barns." Frida continued on ranting.

Then she notices that David quickly went back to completing the summary analysis and after finishing her theology analysis, began shelving up for the night while also helping David with his summary analysis so he can rest.

After finishing and shelving his school supplies in his bag, David and Frida parted their ways in the hallway before going to their respective rooms across the hallway.

David arrived in his bedroom and laid down on a medium sized bed.

"Finally…" David muttered to himself, giving himself a big yawn before snuggling himself in the blankets.

Back at Frida's room, it wasn't really comfortable considering Stephen didn't mind making the room in the same standard as the rest of house, but thankfully her parents fixed the room up before they moved to the shed, making it a little comfy for now.

Frida laid down on a mattress that smelled like hay bale and tried to sleep for the night but due to the moist and cold air coming in to her room and because she was not given a blanket, she shivered in the cold until she had enough.

A few minutes later, she got up from her bed, hugging her pillow to her chest, and walked slowly to the now quiet house towards David's bedroom and opened the door to see David snoring in his sleep.

She was too nervous to ask him, thinking it's rude to ask someone who is asleep, but she can't stand how miserable they made the room for her and so proceeded anyway.

"...David?" Frida quietly asks, pushing him a bit to make him wake up.

David didn't feel that push and just moved himself towards the other side.

"David…." Frida urged, her voice now becoming a little louder but quiet nonetheless, and pushed him a little harder to get his attention.

David woke up in a fright by the push, thinking that the bed was shaking due to an earthquake, and got himself up gasping for breath.

Frida quietly giggled at his act although David would notice her and nervously laughed with her quietly in the night.

Then David finally got his mind relaxed for now and focused on Frida.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

"I can't sleep, my room is too cold and I don't have a blanket in there so…" Frida answered, complaining about the room that Stephen provided while still keeping her voice quiet so he wouldn't know in the other room.

"Can I sleep here with you?" Frida requests, shivering around her pillow due to a rush of cold air flowing inside his room.

David lightly blush at her request but felt like this is something he could abide by for her and nodded his head in response.

Frida got excited for a moment and hugged David around his neck and he just nervously laughed at it while still forming a heavy blush around his cheeks.

Frida finally pulled out of her hug and she now saw the bright and heavy blush that formed around David's face and chuckled at the sight of it.

"Oh David…" Frida humbly said, trying to bring her laugh down to not make a noise, "Did you really think it's gonna go down like this?"

David irked at that thought and rubbed the back of his neck in response to show that he has no thoughts about that, at all.

"Frida, chapter 18?" David finally got a response out of himself by reminding Frida of a chapter inside the Leviticus and he smirked at her to follow it, which she did.

"Fine, at least we get to have a good sleep together." Frida groaned as she laid down in David's bed, which wasn't like a King's bed but still a good bed nevertheless, and quickly snuggled herself among the blankets.

David did the same in a slow pace, sharing the blanket and began wondering what tomorrow will bring and what is gonna happen tomorrow while he slowly dozes off into a sleep with Frida right next to him.

Meanwhile, Hilda and Jared were preparing to go and confront Jared's parents about the cheque that was given to the doctor a few hours ago, with Hilda preparing for her stay at his house for a few days.

While Hilda placed the bags down and started folding the clothes before putting them in, she began to notice that each clothing Jared brought to her was old and obviously not her size, which is concerning.

"Jared, why are the clothes here not my size?" Hilda asked, asking why he only brought her the clothes with wrong sizes.

This question struck a chord with Jared's mind and he quickly began thinking of any reasonable excuse in order to not get wind of her suspicions.

"Uhhh, that's all I found in your closet." Jared quickly excused.

Hilda didn't trust that reply Jared gave and so got up from the floor and went to the closet with Jared to see if it really was what he found.

She went to the closet with Jared and looked into it closely to check.

The closet was full of coats, all of them are either winter coats, old corsets or gowns, vests and linen shirts, all of which are not for Hilda but Jared said this was all he found and she assumed that's what he found that was feminine for her but she brought with her the vest and shirt with her to the bag.

Jared just looked at her with surprise that she just realized the excuse and walked away with it silently and he just walked away from the closet and helped Hilda with the bag instead.

"Can't I just wear my usual stuff?" she said as she stared with concern at what Jared gave her.

"But it isn't the norm" Jared objected.

Hilda groaned at his objection and simply donned one of her coats and looked at herself in the mirror.

"Eh, this goes fine with me." Hilda said, complimenting herself.

"But my family-"

"Your family will have to take my ways or else, the deal is off" Hilda insisted.

She then turned her attention to her burnt eye, the skin and eyelids still visibly distorted from the past fire.

"Shouldn't you, y'know, cover that?" Jared gave out his concerns.

"Mind your own business for once, I know that."

"But we are partners-"

"Yeah, sure, that doesn't mean you take care of my stuff… maybe we could use the money my mum will leave to get something nice for me"

"For you? Not like… us?"

"It's my mom, my heritage… maybe I could get a new cabin out there, it's so nice being out there again…"

"But...we have the city"

"Ah don't worry, I can cut wood if you can't…" Hilda said, trying to explain to Jared about living in the wilderness, "Besides, I can provide for myself and be independent for once.

"Yeah… but the clothes at least "

"Leather Jacket"

She says as she pushes him outside the room and locks the door. Hilda then starts to put on her usual clothing, a vest, boots and baggy pants, she would rather be cozy than stylish.

While Hilda was testing out how the vest goes for her, she starts murmuring to herself about how overtly perverted Jared is slowly becoming.

"Meh meh meh, family, deals, He's is such a fucking wimp, I can't wait for that pervert to break his neck so I can be a happy widow or whatever."

She also gets out a belt as the pants were a bit loose.

"He tries to act so tough, what a fucking loser, i bet he can barely fist fight David, yet he is all about the norms, and Kaisa's outfit just…..Lord, I would be more comfortable if he went to a brothel, at least they would be getting paid proprely."

Meanwhile Kaisa was at her designated room, since she also received an extra clothing set for the night, but, well, she wasn't sure, they started to seem less and less like maid outfits, and so she was reluctant and thinking about what the doctor said, she began to realize the situation.

She took a look at her luggage, the clothes she brought in were still unpacked, so she decided to take them out.

"I'm sure Sire Jared won't mind…. After all, it will be a cold night" she said as she put on a pair of boots and a scarf.

Before she could end the night, she prepared a meal and carried it on a tray to Johanna, wishing to feed her dinner before she sleeps.

Back at Hilda's room, Jared was still waiting for Hilda to be finished and being impatient,he knocked on the door several times before Hilda finally opened the door.

She was wearing a bright blue vest with a slight bit of water on her scar as she was trying to make it more vivid.

"Oh, I….see you not wearing what I sent…"

"I would rather NOT freeze in that, or even wear whatever you just gave."

Jared tried to say something against it but he relented as he had nothing to say and he let Hilda wear it for tomorrow.

"Well, at least we need to sleep for tomorrow."

"Yeah...now let's change to our nightgowns now."

Hilda then took the nightgown from her closet and walked out of the room to the bathroom to change and after she's done, she took the time to do hygienic things like tooth brushing and washing her face before going back to see Jared in his nightgown.

Hilda came back to see the room empty, he's not in the room too and soon went towards bed and snuggled down to her blanket with Dagger right beside it.

Then after a few minutes, Jared came back with a nightgown of his own.

"Sorry I was a little late, I had to tell Kaisa to prepare for tomorrow and-" Jared explained to a sleeping Hilda about why he wasn't in the room before realizing she was asleep.

Jared just yawned after he realized it and just went downstairs to see the doctor nowhere to be found and him collapsing on the sofa before dozing off into a sleep.
