A/N : this one's short but i like it anyways

As the four of them made their way up the stairs, they were stopped by a little blonde boy with super shiny hair. Alexandra all but ran to his side, leaving Harry with Ron.

"There you are! You disappeared on the train," started the boy.

Harry could've sworn they've met before.

The boy turned towards him.

"It's true then, what they're saying on the train. Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts."

"Well, you'll soon find out that some wizarding families are much better than others, Potter. You don't want to go around making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there."

"Er-"

"The names Malfoy, Draco Malfoy."

Alexandra let out a little smile and told Harry a little condescendingly,

"He does have a point, you know. Wizarding hierarchy is truly important, make the right friends and you're set for life."

Ron let out a little snort.

"Think I'm funny do you," sneered Draco.

"Oh not this again," sighed Alex trying to drag Draco away by his arm.

"Well, there's no need to ask for your name, red hair, hand-me-down robes, you must be a Weasley?"

"Perhaps we should leave the hair out of this," whispered Alexandra.

Ron nearly swung at him, when Harry stopped his arm, shaking his head.

"I think I can tell the wrong sort for myself, Malfoy."

Alexandra sighed, knowing the relationship just wasn't meant to be and turned towards the stern lady at the head of the stairs. Leaving the boys to their spat, she jogged up to professor McGonagall.

"Hi Minnie," she said with a cheeky smile.

"Good Evening Alexandra, must I remind you that now you are a student, and must call me 'Professor McGonagall'?"

"Sure, I remember Minnie!"

Minerva simply shook her head, sighing, and held her hand as she addressed the first-years. Alexandra zoned out, accustomed to the long speech and pondered the new terms of having a twin brother. She'd have to find the twins and ask them questions on sibling life.

However, she had a feeling their relationship wouldn't quite be the same.

The students made their way into the great hall, staring inquisitively at their first glimpse of the school, with collective 'ooh's and 'aah's as they inspected the charmed ceiling.

McGonagall let go of her hand, and Alexandra made her way to sit with her newfound brother, even if that meant leaving Draco alone with Millicent Bulstrode over at the Slytherin table. Poor Draco looked scared to bits as he sat between Millicent and Pansy, Alexandra gave him a little wave as the sorting ceremony commenced.

"Abbott, Hannah," McGonagall called.

Alexandra silently calculated how long it would take until they reached the "P"s.

She was shaken out of her arithmetic when Draco's name was called. The hat barely touched his head before shouting "Slytherin". Alexandra supposed her sorting would be somewhat the same. She let out a small smile, and clapped for him, while the rest of the Gryffindor table boo-ed.

There weren't many people left now.

"Moon"..., "Nott"..., "Parkinson"..., then a pair of twin girls, "Patil" and "Patil"..., then "Perks, Sally-Anne..., and then, at last –

"Potter, Alexandra!"

Alexandra climbed the steps quickly, ignoring the murmurs from the older years, whispering about "the baby" and taking short, nervous breaths. She had nothing to be worried about, she was raised in a den of Slytherins, what else could she be?

The last thing Alex saw before the hat dropped over his eyes was the hall full of people craning to get a good look at her. Next second she was looking at the black inside of the hat. She waited.

"It seems to finally be your turn, eh?"

"You know it," she responded drily, "How about we just put me where I belong and get this over with?"

"Where you belong?"

"Well, yes, didn't you say I was a Slyt-"

"GRYFFINDOR!" the hat yelled.

She would be lying if she said she didn't rip the hat off her head. She nearly threw it across the room, but a spell caught it midway. Time seemed to still, as there was a shocked gasp from every corner of the room, loudest from the Gryffindor table.

After a couple of minutes the headmaster cleared his throat and snapping back to reality, McGonagall patted the girl on her shoulder and whispered lowly,

'I shall be glad to have you in my house, dear.'

Turning back with wide eyes, Alex slowly walked down the steps with shaky legs as she made her way to the Gryffindor table.

There were whispers all the way from the Slytherin table, and she could feel the eyes staring into her back as she sat down beside Fred and George.

"Bloody hell,-" started George,

'Weren't you-'

'Supposed to join-"

"The snakes?" they finished in unison, as the rest of the house cheered when Harry sat down opposite them.

"Stop it you two!" she whispered angrily.

"What-" laughed Fred,

"You mean-"

"This?" they finished together.

"STOP IT OR ELSE I'LL MAKE SURE TO OWL YOUR MOTHER!" she yelled, rendering the entire hall silent.

"Ooh is the little baby scared?' cackled Peeves

"SHUT IT PEEVES" yelled the entire hall.

Her face burned red, and the rest of the night was a blur.

Or else she might've noticed a little blonde boy burning holes with his stare from the other side of the hall.
