A/N: Woo. Another Kane story.

OOOOOOOOOOO

The bell over the door dinged as Glenn entered the flower shop with Blair in his arms. She took a deep breath and laughed which warmed his heart.

"Daddy, it's smelly in here," she commented, scrunching up her nose.

"Hmm, does it smell like your bubby?" Glenn asked, looking at her.

"Nope, this smells good. Bubby smells icky." She leaned forward and smelled him. "Daddy, you smell like stuffs. The things that Mommy sprays you with." Her dark eyes glittered. "It's nice."

"Good. Daddy is happy you think he smells good."

Actually, he was happy that he got to spend time with his little girl. She had captured his heart the moment she was placed in his arms. And he'd give anything in the world to keep her happy.

Blair looked around them at all the flowers. "Daddy, why are we here?"

"Well, we're going to get flowers for your mommy," Glenn told her, setting her down.

"Why?"

"Because we love her."

"Oh." Blair twirled around and looked at the flowers. "And we can pick any of them, Daddy?"

"Yes, we can."

Blair squealed with happiness and danced ahead of him through the aisles of flowers. Glenn followed her, unwilling to let his little bundle of joy out of his sight. An employee saw them and smiled, clearly not knowing who he was for which he was glad.

"Can I be of any help?" she asked.

"We're making a bunch of flowers for my Mommy!" Blair declared, smiling proudly.

Glenn looked at the employee. "We need to make a bouquet for my wife."

"Any special occasion?"

"No, just because."

The woman's smile became wider. "I see. Well, we have a wonderful selection of flowers for you to choose from. And I'd be happy to assist you in making a custom arrangement."

"Thank you." Glenn reached down for Blair's hand when she held it out to him. "Do you want this nice lady to help us, Blair?"

Blair nodded and looked up at the employee. "Mama is special. So she needs special flowers."

"I see." The woman started picking through the flowers nearby. "How about some roses? They come in a variety of colors and are a wonderful statement of love."

Glenn knew that roses were traditional and he had given several to Thea many times before. She accepted them all with a smile on her face and offered him a kiss afterwards. It wouldn't hurt to give her more roses, right?

Blair shook her head. "Mommy already has bunches of those." She tugged on Glenn's hand. "Daddy gave her gold ones a hundred years ago."

"A hundred years ago, you say?" the employee said with a smile, looking at Glenn.

"It was last year for our anniversary," he explained, shrugging. He looked down at Blair. "Are you sure no roses for your mommy?"

The little girl nodded her head. "No roses. They smell funny, Daddy. Mommy needs others."

"Well, if you don't think your mommy will like roses, how about hibiscus?" the employee offered, showing Blair a few blossoms. "They're exotic and they smell very sweet."

Blair leaned forward and sniffed the flowers. She smiled, but then she sneezed. And then again.

"Daddy?" she whimpered.

"It's okay," Glenn assured her. He looked apologetically at the employee. "It looks like this one is a no too. My daughter appears to be allergic to the flower."

"That's all right, sir," the employee said, nodding her head as she put the hibiscus flowers back gently. "Let's see if we can find something equally as beautiful for your mommy that doesn't make you sneeze, dear."

Glenn and Blair went around the shop with the employee and found some flowers that would make a decent base for the bouquet he'd planned out. But they couldn't find one that would really stand out. Then Blair got excited.

"Ooh! Ooh! That one! What's that one?" she asked, pointing as she bounced on her feet.

The shop employee followed her finger to the orange flowers that were slightly striped and smiled. "Oh, honey, those are called Tiger Lilies. And they are a very common flower around here. People grow them in bunches and they spread like wildfire."

Blair danced excitedly and pointed at them. "Them, Daddy! Them! Those for Mommy!"

The employee looked to Glenn for confirmation. Glenn nodded and the woman started selecting tiger lilies for the bouquet. She led them up front and started the process of ringing them out. Blair tugged on his pants leg.

"Daddy, can I carry the flowers?" she asked, looking up at him with big eyes. "And you can carry me?"

Glenn paid for the flowers and then passed them to his little girl. She buried her nose in the soft petals and took a deep breath, inhaling as much as she could. Glenn scooped her up and bid the employee a good day.

The bell over the door dinged again as they left.

"These are pretty," Blair commented, bouncing slightly in his arms. "Daddy, look, look!"

"I see them, pumpkin," Glenn promised with a smile. He walked for several moments before speaking again. "Blair, why did you choose the tiger lilies?"

Blair smiled mysteriously. "Because…they look like Mommy's pants when she's in the square…"

"The square?" Glenn asked, lifting an eyebrow.

"Yeah, where she beats up Uncle Mark and you, Daddy. The square!" She squirmed. "Mommy is like a tiger and she's bright like the flowers. Mommy deserves them."

Glenn thought about Thea's grey, tiger striped pants that she wore with pride. Sometimes, she switched it up and wore the grey tiger striped shirt and wore black pants or shorts in the ring. She could pull off almost anything. Even her black and purple striped hair.

And Blair is taking right up after her, Glenn thought, smiling at her. I couldn't be more proud of my daughter. This little girl, she's something special.

Blair touched his face. "Daddy? Can we go get ice cream?"

"Sure, pumpkin. We can go get ice cream," Glenn said, nodding as he steered them in the direction of the nearest ice cream parlor.
