We were having a normal day, the sun was shining. We just came back from school

when my grandpa told us that it was here… the shadow realm. One by one, people

were disappearing. Those who didn't disappear are either escaping or are now

working with the shadow realm. Darkness spread over the city. Before, it was made of

kindness. Now, it's made of hatred and anger. There was so much darkness that it

was like a blanket full of darkness.

By the time we woke up the next day, it was already too late for him. They took my

grandpa, he was sent to the shadow realm. From that day, we were more scared than

ever. One of us could die and we could be more miserable than we already are. Our

lives had a big change from spending time together, joy, happiness to darkness and

despair. Darkness danced around the city.

On the other hand, there were some calm moments when my mum came over, she

would soothe our souls and make us feel better. I heard her on the phone saying that

we were going to leave otherwise they will catch us. Who were they? Were we actually

going to leave? Would we leave everyone else behind? Questions wrapped around my

mind. We all confronted my mum and she couldn't deny that fact that we were going to

have to leave Domino City.

My mother could see that we were broken more now. It was the end of this adventure.

We didn't want to go but we had, for the sake of our lives. We didn't want to go but we

couldn't stay. We packed our suitcases and loaded them into a car. Our lives were a

puzzle, struggling to be solved. Our dreams were a broken was a sad

goodbye. It was a sad and long goodbye. It was a very sad and very long goodbye. It

was the last goodbye…

The journey had started. The more we travelled the more that was left behind. We left

a lot of things behind, such as: a good luck card from my friend Jaden, taken by the

storm, a memory of a friend, taken by the train. There was only one thing left, a

valuable photo of grandpa. My mother took us to the docs. Her words echoed again

and again around my head, "I will leave with them tomorrow so they don't get caught

by them."

Our minds were made up, we would stay at the docs. We got cozy in her arms, she

calmed our minds with the chatter of the washing waves, fresh fields and the

shimmering seas. We could still hear the screams of the innocent people from the city.

The night closed in and had entered our dreams. The ocean made a tsunami, the

hooks of the anchors became arms and the top became a head.

We were awoken in our uncomfortable position from the footsteps of the dark signers,

rare hunters and shadow riders, tapping on the concrete of the docs. My mum

encouraged us to move and go to a different hideout. We found a bunker in the

satellite and stayed there for the night.

Once it was morning, we sprinted back to the docs and hopped on a boat. A swarm of

people streamed into the boat like a wave. Chatter filled up the boat. We were all

relieved that we had escaped the city. We stared out to the city and hoped to go back

there after this was all over. The waves grew more and more intense.
