AN: Thanks for checking out the story! Before we begin I just want to point out I am rating this story as a T for now but it might change to M. It just depends on how it goes. I kinda impulsively wrote this all today and posted the first chapter. If I feel there might be trigger warnings, even small ones, I will put them at the begging of the chapter! Hopeful I stay away from those for the most part! Anyway, author notes from now on will be at the bottom! Enjoy!

TW: Minor hate speech to the quirkless person in this story. Can ya take a guess at who it is?

Chapter 1

People always joked that he was like a danger magnet. He preferred the term 'accident prone'. The sheer amount of times he accidentally found himself caught up in villain attacks and hostage situations were enough to no longer phase him. On the bright side, he learned some basic form of self-defense, even if it was self-taught. Any bit helps when he finds himself in the midst of a villain attack.

He doesn't search for danger either. About 80% of the time the danger finds him. At this rate 'danger magnet' could be his quirk, a crappy quirk, but a quirk nonetheless. Only he doesn't actually have a quirk. His double-jointed pinky toe confirmed his inability to form a quirk. So 'accident prone' it is.

It was a miracle that nothing bad happened this week alone. Other than a close encounter with a group of bullies at his new high school on the first day. His quirkless status always made him out as an easy target. The high school he was at wasn't anything out of the ordinary. He would have loved to get into UA, even if it was just something like general education, but his application was automatically rejected. Not because he was quirkless. No, it was because his application's background check failed. He can thank his former school teachers for that.

They took any and every chance they got to tarnish his record. Like that time when a bully came up to him, started beating him up and he stood up for himself and fought back. Then the teacher sees the ruckus and he is the one that gets in trouble for fighting while the other gets off scot-free. Those teachers just never miss a chance.

He's only a little bitter about that. It might've been better anyway. After All Might brutally crushed his dreams on that rooftop and his application was rejected the following week at UA, he vowed he was still going to help people. Thus the vigilante Shadow was born. Not that anybody knew he went by that name. He's been doing vigilante work for about nine months now. He hasn't been caught yet and was only a mere rumor in the hero world. A vigilante at UA was bound to cause problems.

Besides, technically what he was doing wasn't illegal, per se. To be considered a vigilante you have to stop a villain aided by the use of your quirk. Well, he didn't have a quirk, therefore he can't ever become an official vigilante. Kind of a stupid law to leave such a big loophole if you ask him. In the end, it works out in his favor so he isn't complaining.

He's very careful to keep his two lives apart. In the day he is the average, quirkless, citizen, Izuku Midoriya. One that is plagued by bullies and neglectful adults while he tries to make ends meet. Playing as Izuku's Midoriya he has to play the role of victim whenever he can. He has to act useless and weak and doesn't know how to fight.

At night he is the vigilante Shadow. Not very well known, but that's how it's supposed to be. Nothing but a mere shadow in the dark that takes down thugs with quick precision aided heavily by the element of surprise.

He's a smart kid. He's very thankful for that. He can analyze a situation with a quick glance and is able to get the basics of someone's quirk after seeing it in action at least once. If it wasn't for those skills he wouldn't have lasted very long in his vigilante career. There was also the issue of gear. If he wanted to be successful he needed to know how to make his own gear. So he bought himself a guild for mechanics and taught himself how to make things. He picked it up quite easily. Though his inventions weren't very good, given that all the parts were from the Takoba Municipal Beach. Beggars can't be choosers he supposes. At least it's something.

His best invention was his beloved staff. It's able to fold up into a pocket-sized stick. It's also lightweight, but still strong enough that it won't snap after a single hit. His favorite part is the ends of the staff. They can produce an electrical charge strong enough to knock someone out without causing serious harm. It makes takedowns all the easier.

His second favorite invention is his shock-absorbing boots. They look like a pair of regular boots but they can easily absorb extra force applied to them. It makes jumping from roof to roof way more comfortable and he can fall up to 10 feet without feeling any strain on his legs, assuming he lands on his feet.

The third invention he has is little smoke bombs. Need to make a quick getaway? Just deploy one of his smoke bombs and the next 10-ish feet is just nothing but smoke. Though they are quite hard to make, so using them is a last resort type of thing. He has a nice little belt to carry them on.

The last invention he made for himself are his little night goggles. Used to hide his eye color and it helps him see better in the dark. He's able to pick out smaller details that others might not in the dark. It even has a built-in weapon tracker that highlights any visible and nonvisible metallic weapons that might be hidden on a person. It is a big help when it comes to analyzing a situation accurately.

Other than that, his outfit for patrol consists of wearing a black ski-like mask to cover his hair with a built-in voice changer. He wears his goggles over the mask that, ironically, has a dark green tint to the lens. He wears a black hoodie and uses velcro he found to keep the hood up and attached to the ski mask. He also wears a pair of black padded gloves with a pair of black pants. The darker his clothes are, the harder it is to make out his form at night. To top his outfit off he has his shock-absorbing boots that match his clothes, along with his belt to carry his smoke bombs.

Too bad he can't use any of his inventions or vigilante skills in the day. Would have been a great help. But no, right now he is Izuku Midoriya. The quirkless citizen who can't even defend himself against the evils of the world. A natural magnet for danger. A high school student that has to work a part-time job in order to pay for the fees. A kid that had been abandoned by his mother to fend for himself.

It's a crappy life, but it's his life. Honestly, it could be worse. He has a nice setup in an abandoned building. Been there for about 3 years now. It may have been disgusting when he first moved there, but there was nothing that a little bleach could clean. And the rumors of it being a villain hideout were enough to keep people away. He can confirm there are no villains there. He triple-checked the perimeter for the first month he lived there. Winters are harsh, but with enough blankets, he can stay warm enough in the little cocoon he makes. It also helps him to stay in warmer places like his school, the public library, or his part-time job at the cafe, for as long as possible.

Luckily it's not winter right now. It was Wednesday, the first week of school, and nothing majorly bad had happened yet! Which is weird with his track record. So he was on edge. Call it a bad feeling, he learned early on to listen to his gut. He started to get this feeling after the first four to five times he was taken hostage. Funny enough he only gets that feeling when he is going to be taken hostage. On those days it's best to avoid going to public places if he can and head straight home. Sometimes it works, his day goes without a hitch, or maybe his feeling is a little inaccurate. But the few days he ignores it he always ends up wishing he listened to it.

Then there are days where he just can't avoid it. Even if he takes precautions to avoid it. Today is one of those days. Apparently, the bullies that he escaped on the first day didn't like that. It was during their lunch break that Izuku found himself running to escape them. He couldn't beat them up like they were villains, but he can use his invasive skills to escape the possibly dangerous situation.

Unfortunately new school, new area, he could only do so much. Just his luck that he cornered himself in a little alleyway near the school. He didn't think they would chase after him when he went off the school grounds, yet here he was, cornered by the bullies. Didn't look like he was getting out of this one. At least he could possibly learn their quirks.

It was a group of three people. The leader of the group was a girl. She had bright magenta hair that was long and being held back from getting in her face with a bubblegum pink bandanna. To her left was a buff-looking guy that had a horn coming out of his head. Maybe some type of rhino mutation. On the girl's right was another guy. He had sandy-looking hair that covered his eyes with freckles that scattered his face. There was some type of fluid dripping from his fingers.

"You! Quirkless kid! If you think I will just let you walk around my school without consequences then you're wrong. I won't let your disease spread to the other students!" Okay first ouch and second this girl can't be serious.

"Gove, hold him." The buff guy, Gove, stepped forward. Izuku could try darting around him but his form was blocking a lot of the alleyway. He steeled his nerves and let the guy grab him. The hold was tight and bound to leave a bruise.

He was roughly moved to be standing in front of Gove with his arms being held behind his back. Not an ideal position at all. Really exposes him to punches.

"Since I'm the queen at this school I can't be seen getting my hands dirty. So I'm going to let you off easy this time. Consider yourself lucky, loser. Sander, glue his forearms and legs together." What? So this is why he had a bad feeling today.

His sleeves were forcibly shoved up to expose his forearms. He tried to get out of the grasp, he really did, but Gove was strong. Sander stepped close and Izuku could see Sander's fingers were coated in the liquid that was dripping from them earlier. Izuku felt something wet smear across his exposed skin before his arms were pushed together. He mentally shivered in disgust. The process was repeated on his calves.

"You see, with my quirk I can produce glue from my fingers. It dries really fast and anything that gets stuck to it can't get out of it till it wears off. It's an unbreakable bond! For the next two hours, your arms and legs are going to be stuck together." Sander sounded really pleased. Honestly, that just pissed Izuku off. He gritted his teeth and mumbled something.

"What was that? Speak up you stupid deku!"

Izuku closed his eyes and with more force this time he spoke. "I said fuck you! You have no right to treat people like this! You guys are terrible human beings!" The two bullies he could see looked surprised. The girl was the first to shake it off and adapted a vicious smile.

"Awww, does the deku actually have a voice? I think we need to fix that!" Her tone was sickly sweet and taunting. She pulled her bandanna out of her hair. The next thing Izuku knew that cloth was being roughly shoved into his mouth and tied around the back of his head to act as a gag. He glared at the bullies. Amusement flickered in their eyes. Oh, how he desperately wanted to beat them up and put them in their place.

Gove spoke up for the first time. "Let's toss him into a dumpster!" Sander let out a crude laugh. The girl glanced out of the alleyway with a thoughtful look.

"I have a better idea." She led them out of the alleyway and near the main street. Were they going to toss him in front of a car? That would be murder! He struggled to get out of Gove's grasp. The girl didn't lead them to the street, thankfully. His struggle died down. Instead, she led them to a fancy-looking bus that was stopped just outside of a convenience store. Nobody was on the bus and the driver wasn't in sight. Probably in the store for a quick stop. The girl opened a storage compartment for suitcases on the side of the bus. So it was a traveling bus, good to know.

"Toss him in there." Her vicious smile never left her face. Izuku felt all his limbs tense. This was going too far. Putting him in there, there was no telling how long it would be till he got out. Sander and Gove had the decency to look nervous.

"Nisha, are you sure about that?" Sander's voice wavered. Nisha gained a steely look.

"Are you questioning my judgment?" Both guys blathered off nervous apologies. Izuku found himself roughly pushed into the storage unit before his world was bathed in black. Not the type of black that came with blood loss but the type of black that came with darkness. He heard laughter from the three fade off into the distance. The only thing he could see was the glowing outline of the storage door where the sun seeped through.

There goes his hope of a week without problems. He let out a sigh through the gag. The only course of action he could take is to wait for the glue to wear off and then he could get himself out of the bus. Stupid bullies. He has two hours to kill now.

AN: Ya made it to the end! Have a virtual cookie! Those nasty bullies shouldn't show up again and I know the names are stupid. I should not be entrusted with naming things and I didn't want to risk using normal names. I kinda just made up syllables that kinda sounded like names and said 'Yep. That's good enough for me." and left it at that. Sorry if it is someone's name! It's not intentional!

I do not have a set upload schedule. As of right now I really love this idea here and the next update should hopefully be in a week or something! Chapters may take time because I do not have an editor so errors are going to happen. If you see one please comment about it so I can fix it! I do read through my chapters once or twice to try and catch any errors. My chapters tend to be around 2k words. Any more than that and my mind goes numb editing the chapter over and over. Also, I am trying something new and I am posting this fanfic on archive of our own! The same username I have here is the same there too! The fanfic will also be the same title and description, probably. So pick where ya wanna read it!

If you like this then maybe consider following or favoring? Maybe even toss me a comment? Please, I love any feedback! Constative criticism is welcomed! Please be kind tho, my weak heart might shatter.

On the last note... Anybody up for a field trip to the USJ?
