AN: Eyyy I got a chapter out! Didn't think I would have made it this week because I have been super busy. Started a part-time job and school has been kinda kicking my butt too. Either way, I am pleased with this chapter! Go read!

Chapter 3

Present Mic returned empty-handed two hours later. Aizawa couldn't stop the small feeling of disappointment from forming. Mic looked bummed out himself and reclaimed his seat next to Aizawa.

"Sorry. I couldn't find him. It's like he just upped and disappeared!" Mic let out a frustrated sigh as he put his head back into his hands.

"Don't worry about it, Mic. Izu is probably okay. He was okay enough to pull off that little vanishing act of his." Mic let his shoulders slump and gave a little nod in agreement.

"Besides," he continued, "we can track Izu down. He was wearing a school uniform right? We also know that he was attacked by his classmates who bounded him with glue. Izu said the glue only lasted two hours. That means he has to go to a school that is within two hours from UA." Aizawa could practically see the gears turning in Mic's head.

Mic perked up and finished the thought. "So by tracking down which school his uniform belongs to, we will also find out the school Izu goes to and then we can meet him there!" Aizawa let a small smirk from behind his scarf.

"Precisely." Mic opened his mouth to shout his praises at how smart of a plan that was, but he was cut off by a new voice.

"My my, that's quite the observation you have there Aizawa!" Aizawa and Mic's heads swiveled to face the voice. It belonged to none other than Principal Nezu. Nezu had a friendly smile in place. It seems like he always does.

"Principal Nezu." Aizawa nodded his greeting. "Anything we can help you with?" Nezu's smile took on a slightly more feral look.

"I trust you guys have already been briefed on the main events that happened?" Both nodded. "Good, then I came to touch upon a few things myself regarding the USJ attack! Starting with why neither of you felt the need to call in backup before racing in!" Mic paled while Aizawa, to his credit, didn't show any outward reaction. Nezu patiently waited for one of them to explain.

Aizawa glanced at Mic, who was looking everywhere but Aizawa and Nezu. Typical. Leave it to him to be the one that has to answer. "Sorry Nezu. I saw my students being attacked and I rushed to help. I wasn't thinking and because of that, I made an irrational decision. I won't let it happen again. For the sake of my students and myself." Nezu nodded, seeming satisfied with his apology, and turned to stare at Mic. Mic audibly gulped.

"What Aizawa said. I wasn't thinking and was too focused on getting Izu to safety before also rushing to help. I will make sure to call in for backup next time!" Nezu hummed and his smile lost its feral glint. Aizawa felt his tense muscles relax slightly. Mic didn't try hiding his relief.

"Now, that brings us to the next concern!" He clasped his little paws together. "If it wasn't for Izu, us staff members would have been completely oblivious to the attack that was happening. It's thanks to him that there aren't more casualties. That being said, I want you two to track Izu down and bring him back here!" Nezu unclasped his paws and brought them behind his back.

Mic smiled at Nezu. "We already planned on tracking the kid down to check on him. Can I ask why you want him brought back here though?" Aizawa had a suspicion on why.

"I wanted to formally thank him for his efforts. Also, if Izu was injured on school grounds, it's our job to make sure he gets treated. It is the least we can do to thank him for his help!" Nezu's smile became slightly more strained. "Plus, the police found blood on the ground in the back of the bus. They are running a DNA test right now to see if they can match it to Izu. They want his witness statement on the USJ. If we can get him to come in willingly we can avoid the mess of having to go and apprehend him for it." Nezu finished.

Aizawa suspected as much. With how big the attack on the USJ was, there was no way that the police were going to leave any leaf unturned. That means tracking down Izu and finding out what he knows. It would things so much easier if they got him to come in willingly.

At the bare minimum, it would be twenty-four hours before the results of the DNA test would get back. Waiting for it would be a waste of time. "Let us know what the DNA test says when it comes back. Mic and I will continue with our original plan of trying to locate the kid's school and try to catch him there." Nezu's smile turned more genuine.

"I think that's a wonderful plan! Best of luck to you guys. I wish I could offer you help, but I have my paws tied with the media and paperwork. I look forward to meeting Izu!" Nezu gave a small wave as he turned and left the room.

It was silent before Mic broke it. "So, did you find the school yet?" Aizawa shot him a glare.

"No, but I know who's going to help me look through the hundreds of uniforms of the nearby schools." Mic shot Aizawa a nervous look.

"You don't mean me, right?" Aizawa didn't say anything before Mic found himself being strangled by a scarf. Silence at last.

His uniform jacket was trashed. Between the rips in the back and the bloodstain on the sleeve, it was better to just buy a new one. So that's where he was right now. At the office of his school waiting for the secretary to hand him the new jacket. She didn't even bother hiding her sneer when she did. Some people are just plain rude. He couldn't wait for this day to be over.

After the USJ attack, he decided he was going to take the night off to rest. Doing so helped with the cut on his arm. Gave it a little time to heal. The cut did end up needing a few stitches, but it wasn't that bad, he had worse, and yesterday was pretty taxing on him. Dealing with all the heroes and trying to keep a low profile, and failing at it. He deserved to take a night off. He'd be back tonight anyway, there's a big drug deal that is supposed to happen and he'd be damned if he let it.

Izuku sighed as wandered into his first class. He ignored the snickers that were directed his way. Rumors have probably already spread about what has transpired the day before. That would at least make him the laughing stock for the week. He rolled his eyes and let himself zone out. In all fairness, when he does that the school days do seem to end fairly quickly.

Today was no exception. He was mostly left alone, only once having to hide out in the bathrooms to escape a different group of bullies. Then there was the occasional spider lily on his desk, but it wasn't like he wasn't used to it at this point. It is easy enough to toss and it's a harmless prank compared to what other people do. Like the time someone poured their drink on his head at lunch. When the bell rang to signal the end of classes, he couldn't help but rush out.

The sooner he leaves the less of a chance of something going wrong. So, ahead of the crowd, he couldn't stop the double-take at the sight of Present Mic outside his school gates. What? Why was he here? How was he here? Someone bumped into his shoulder. He ignored it. He thought he would have had a few days before the heroes tracked him down. Guess not.

He had to get out of here before Present Mic spotted him. He turned to go back inside, opting for a retreat through one of the school's back exits. Only he wasn't fast enough.

"HEY! IZU! OVER HERE!" The unmistakable sound of Present Mic's voice echoed throughout the courtyard. Silence fell as everyone stopped and turned to look between Present Mic and Izuku. It didn't help when the students that were rushing around him earlier parted to make a clear path between him and Present Mic. He never liked being in the spotlight.

Flush on his face from all the sudden attention, he turned to face Mic. Present Mic gave him a blinding smile when their eyes met. If he ran now it would only make him look guilty. Internally cringing, he made his way over to the hero. The school rush continued once it was clear nothing else was happening. He ignored the whispers of the people talking about him as they rushed by.

Feigning surprise, Izuku put on a shocked expression. "Present Mic! What are you doing here?" Izuku let his surprise grow into a friendly smile. He will not show how nervous he actually was.

"Izu! It's good to see you are alright! I wanted to personally check on you to make sure you are all right after the USJ attack." Mic's blinding smile never left his face. Izuku found it hard to believe if that was all Present was here for, but if that really was all he was here for…

"Thank you for the concern! As you can see, I am all right and I am continuing life as I usually would. So if that is all I have to go!" Present Mic's smile seemed to become slightly more panicked. That meant there was more he had to say. Damn it. So there was more to his visit.

"Actually Izu, there's more! The principal of UA requests to meet you so he can thank you in person for the help you have provided!" Oh, that's not good. He has done a little research on the principle of UA. He couldn't find much about him, which is odd. So that makes him an unknown factor and Izuku wasn't going to risk the life he's built on the unknown factors.

"You can go tell him that I am very honored that he wants to meet me, but I decline the offer. My schedule is just too busy today. I just don't have the time. Now if you excuse me I have to get to work. I can't be late!" He sidestepped Mic and started heading in the direction of his daytime job. To his dismay, Mic followed.

"That's okay! We can work out another time if today isn't good for you!" He gritted his teeth. In Kacchan's words, this guy is a 'persistent mother fucker'. Izuku felt annoyance creep onto his face. He continued to speed walk around a corner and purposely turned onto a busy street, Mic was still behind him trying to get his attention.

"Look, I really do appreciate the offer, but my schedule is like this for the rest of the week. I won't have any time at all to meet with anyone." He risked a glance back at Mic. The guy looked a little upset.

"Well, what about your arm? A kid reported that you were injured but never showed up at Recovery Girl's office." The kid what? "If you are still injured we can get that healed right away!" He mentally cursed. If Mic learns he never got proper medical attention that gives him a pretty good reason to drag him to UA. Well, he wasn't going to let Mic learn that, because he is ditching him now. Like right now. He stopped in the street to face Mic.

"My arm is fine. It was only a small scratch, and I also apologize for what is about to happen." Mic looked confused and opened his mouth to say something, but Izuku never let him speak. He took a deep breath and cupped his hands over his mouth.

"OH MY GOD! IS THAT PRESENT MIC!? THE FAMOUS HERO THAT RUNS THAT RADIO TALK SHOW?" It worked like a charm. Heads swiveled to where the shout came from and mummers started up.

"Is that really Present Mic?"

"Wow! It's the voice hero, Present Mic!"

"Present Mic! Can I get your autograph?"

The look of surprise on Mic's face was priceless as the crowd surrounded him. "I'm sorry I'm a little busy right now. Excuse me, I need to get through!" Nobody was listening as more people joined the growing crowd asking him questions.

With Mic's paths blocked off Izuku made his way to the nearest alley. He glanced back and caught Mic's eyes. He couldn't help the smirk that grew on his face as he gave a two-finger salute before as he darted into the alley. He barely caught Mic's "Wait!" over the sound of the crowd.

He arrived at his part-time job with a minute to spare. He couldn't afford to lose it with him having to buy a new uniform jacket today. Money is already tight as it is. At least from there, the rest of his day went without a hitch.

He sprinted across rooftops dressed in black. He couldn't let the incident with Present Mic shake him up. He has a job tonight and he can't afford any distractions. Lately, he has been tracking a new type of drug that recently made its way to the streets. It's not vastly known across the hero world just yet, but its popularity is steadily growing. The drug is known as Trigger. It's been quite the nasty drug to deal with.

He learned that Trigger can be taken either through injection or inhalation. Once taken, the user's quirk is enhanced by a significant amount. Signs of someone under the influence are excessive sweating and pink eyes. He's gotten his fair share of broken bones from dealing with Trigger users already. That's why he needs to intervene in anything Trigger related, people could get seriously hurt, and tonight, there is a big exchange happening.

From what he has been able to gather, there are three different parties involved. It's going to happen in an old warehouse that's located just outside of Musutafu. So the chances of a hero shutting it down are slim. Heroes don't frequent any of the places outside of Musutafu borders very often. That leaves Izuku to pick up the slack and do most of his patrols there.

On the plus side, his abandoned building is somewhat near the border of Musutafu so he doesn't have to travel too far. It also helps keep him off the hero's radar. The people he helps usually agree not to say anything about him in thanks for helping them and turning the villains over to the police is also pretty easy. Due to the lack of heroes patrolling outside the border, the only heroes that really patrol there are the underground heroes, and underground heroes are a whole different matter from spotlight heroes.

The underground heroes use multiple private frequencies that directly contact the police. Then they leave coded messages of where to pick a villain up. Learning the code they use was pretty damn easy and it's like they aren't even trying to keep someone from hacking into one of those frequencies and using it. They just make it too easy.

Izuku knows the police recently started suspecting outside involvement with those pickups. In his opinion, they only realized that for the stupidest reason, paperwork. All villains that get arrested come with paperwork. Doesn't matter if you're an underground hero or a spotlight hero. That's what sidekicks help with. The only difference between underground heroes and spotlight heroes is that underground heroes can do the paperwork later as they often work alone.

Since he has been using the private frequencies, often changing which one he used, and using the coded messages, the police have been assuming that it was an underground hero that has been calling the villains in. They were very wrong. Now the police are picking up all these villains whose paperwork never gets done, leaving them to question who was actually calling them in. Pretty stupid, right? They only started questioning it eight months later on who's been calling in the villain pickups outside of Musutafu borders.

So lately he has to be more cautious when on patrol because a few more underground heroes are patrolling the area more than usual. Annoying, but he hasn't been caught for nothing. His stealth is one of the few advantages he gets when he is on patrol.

He landed quietly on another rooftop. The warehouse is about an hour away. If he keeps his pace up he can be there with twenty minutes to spare. As long as nothing slows him down that is. He jumped to the next roof. He has a party to crash.
