Dean Pov
I am now surrounded by four adult wolves and three pups. If I get out of this I am never leaving my cave.
"Hey Runt, who's you're friend," said a grey wolf who looks a lot like Runt, but bigger. I am going to guess that's his dad.
"Dad, this is my friend Dean," said Runt.
I called it.
"Sir, it is a pleasure to meet you."
I hope I was polite enough. He kinda looked at me weird for a second and then he smiled.
"It's nice to meet you too, I am Humphrey, Runts dad, this is his Aunt Lilly, my other pups stinky and Claudette."
I looked at them and waved. They waved back.
"By the way when did you show up because I didn't see you when we started our game before or after lunch?," asked Humphrey.
Oh no I need to think. Everyone was looking at me.
"Uh, I was just going for a walk by the river and I just ran into Runt."
They looked at me and nodded.
"Well it was a pleasure meeting you Dean, but Garth and I need to continue our patrol around the border. We will meet with you all at dinner," said Kate.
"Ok, we'll see you later dear, we're just gonna keep playing some more games, said Humphrey.
Huh, I play this off pretty well.
"Dean, you want to play hide and seek with us?" asked Runt.
Uh do I really want to I'm kinda hungry, but they have food for later, and the mask is safe with my other stuff. I could just play a few games and slip by when they leave.
"Sure, why not."
A few rounds wouldn't kill me. Plus I am pretty sure Kate caught on that I was not apart of her pack, so I don't really want to see her again.
"Great, the only rule is to hide in this area. Lilly will be seeking since I found her first," said Humphrey.
"Ok I'll start counting." Said Lilly
Uh where to hide, where to hide. I began looking around and I saw stinky hiding in a hollow log, I saw Claudette ducking behind a big rock, Runt was still looking for a spot, and Humphrey was gone. I found my spot, a bush with berries on it.
"Runt come on," I said.
he looked at me and walked over. he saw the bush.
"Why do you want to hide there," he asked.
"The berries will conceal our scent, I hope."
We dove into it. We then heard Lilly shout
"Ready or not here I come."
After a few minutes of her saying that I heard
"Found you Stinky."
We saw him leave his spot and sit by the tree Lilly picked to count on. I then heard Lilly say
"I see you Claudette."
She is a really good seeker, or they weren't good spots. She found Humphrey in another bush. Great minds think a like I guess. She made it to our bush. She looked at it for the longest time. She then turned around and began looking at another bush. I then turned and Runt began to sniffle. He is not about to sneeze; oh he better not even think of sneezing on me. I put my paw to his nose. He then stopped and smiled and I breathed a sigh of relief. I then heard an achoo. There was no way she didn't hear that. I then looked up to a white face and a big smile peering down at us.
"Gesundheit," she said.
I looked at Runt and laughed. "Gesundheit Runt."
He looked down and apologized to me for giving up our spot.
"No need to say sorry we were the last ones found and sneezing is a common bodily function. I am not mad at you."
He looked at me and wagged his tail. After three more games of hide and seek it was time for dinner. I was actually enjoying there company. It was better than the days before with me, myself, and I. They all began to follow Humphrey and Lilly. I stayed behind and Runt saw.
"Are you coming Dean?,"
I looked at him. I really need a good excuse.
"Uh, I just remembered I have to run some errands and then I'll eat something."
Runt then looked at me strangely for a second. "Ok, do you wanna play again tomorrow?" Uh I really don't wanna hurt this pup. I like him.
"Sure I will meet you here tomorrow morning and we will play whatever you want to."
"You promise." He said with hope.
"I cross my heart."
He then wagged his tail in excitement.
"Ok, Dean I will see you tomorrow."
He then ran off and I headed off in the other direction. All right I dodged that bullet now I am just going to stay in my cave and sleep.
