Dean was put down in front of a large den entrance. "Woah, this place is huge," he thought. He walked in and noticed a caribou carcass in the middle of it.

"I am so glad I can't get sick," he thought.

"You have a very lovely den."

The family said their thanks and gathered around the carcass.

"Dig in everyone," said Humphrey.

Everyone began digging in, except Dean. Kate looked up at him and asked why he wasn't eating.

"I am just waiting for everyone to finish eating their food, and then I'll get what is left."

Kate looked at him and tore a piece of meat off and threw it to Dean.

"You eating is just as important as us eating. You need to eat too, so you can be big and strong when you are older," she said.

"Yes mam, thank you."

Dean began digging in. His digestive system allowed him to eat the raw meat and not get sick.

"This is so much better than the berries," he thought.

Dean began digging in more. It was later that night and everyone was done eating and chatting amongst themselves. No one was watching Dean at this moment. He walked out and sat at the ledge. He looked up at the night sky. The stars were endless.

"With all my love, wherever you are my family, be safe, goodnight."

Dean sat there for a moment and just listened to his surroundings. He was content with what he said.

"You know if you are trying to leave, you should hurry to get out," came a voice.

Dean turned and saw Humphrey.

"If I was escaping I would take that advice," answered Dean.

"So, what were you doing out here," asked Humphrey.

"Uh.. well I was just telling my family goodnight and no matter where they are I will love them. It's stupid... I know, but,"

he was interrupted by Humphrey.

"It's not stupid, it just means you care for your family, and as a parent, I am sure they heard it."

"Thank you Mr. Humphrey."

"You are welcome, now I think it's time to get inside because winter is coming and it is getting colder.

"Uh yeah, you are right."

Dean let out a yawn and walked into the den.

"Goodnight everyone"

everyone said their goodnights back and got ready for bed. Dean moved away from everyone and laid down. He closed his eyes.

"I am not gonna have a nightmare," he thought.

He then heard walking close to him. He opened his eyes and saw the pups moved closer to him, and Kate and Humphrey moved closer to their pups. Dean closed his eyes again and began to drift off to sleep.

It was still night and Dean was fast asleep, but he began to stir. His mind began to roam. In his head he was back in the space. The wolves from before returned. The difference now was that they looked clearer. They looked less fuzzy and blurred, but still unrecognizable.

"I feel like I know you; all of you." Said Dean.

"Please help me; I want my family to be ok. Do you know where they are?" The wolves just stared at him.

"Please tell me if they are ok." They just kept staring at him.

"Hahahahaha."

Deans hair stood on end as he heard the maniacal laughter of the mist. He knew what the laughter meant. That laughter means the dream is ending.

"Why do I keep seeing you?"

"I don't understand any of this."

The wolves began disappearing and this aggravated Dean.

"ANSWER ME!" He screamed.

They began disappearing faster and the red mist began to envelope the area.

"Temper, temper, Dean, I have the answers you seek." Said the voice.

Dean calmed down and spoke.

"Yeah, well I heard your answers and I don't like them. You sound like a broken record. You have been saying the same things since I have been having these dreams, so why don't you keep your answers to yourself," he said annoyed.

"You may not like my answers, but my answers are true. Your family is dead and you are about to join them."

Those last words had struck fear in Deans heart. He began backing away from the voice, but the mist already encircled him. Dean was petrified the mist got closer and closer until it was so close that Dean could see and shape in the mist. The shape was human. Before he could get a good look at the face the shadow rushed him. Dean jumped up with a fright and looked around. He was awake, he saw everyone was still asleep. He was sweating terribly and his throat was dry. He decided to go find the river and get a drink. He slowly stepped past the pups, moved past Humphrey and he was almost past Kate until a certain paw landed on Deans tail.

"Trying to escape are we Dean," she whispered. She opened her eyes and saw Dean sweating and breathing heavily. Her eyes grew with concern.

"Dean, sweetheart what's wrong?"

"I... Uh had a nightmare and I was going to get some water and some air. I am sorry for waking you."

"No it is ok, I normally wake up before the sun rises to do my alpha duties. I will take you to the river."

Dean was too tired to fight and say he didn't need help, so he let her help him.

"Thank you"

"You are welcome"

After a little while of walking in silence, the two made it to the river. Kate decided to break the silence.

"Do you wanna talk about your nightmare."

"Not really."

"That's ok, you don't have too, you can do it when you are ready."

"Thank you for bringing me here and showing me such kindness and hospitality."

"It was my pleasure; I couldn't just leave a pup alone and besides the pups really like you."

"I like them too; they are all so great to be around. They have been so kind to me. You and Mr. Humphrey raised them well."

"Thank you, I will let your folks know how polite and well behaved you have been when I meet them."

"That'll be nice."

"Do you feel better?"

"I do, thank you for this little talk, but I don't think I'll be going back to sleep any time soon."

Kate thought about it for a second.

"Would you like to accompany me on my patrol around the territory?"

Dean thought for a second.

"Sure, I don't plan on going back to sleep."
