Dean began walking to his den.

"Where are you going," asked Humphrey.

"I am going to get help." Dean began to gain speed. The wolves began to follow the boy. Once he made it there, he grabbed his mask and unloaded everything from his bag. He had a lot of clothes and other trinkets scattered on the floor. He put his phone and earbuds in a pocket, sheathed both his daggers on his sides, grabbed his mask, and with the cloak draped over him, he walked out.

"Ok, where is your help Dean," asked Winston. Dean pulled out one of his daggers and pricked his finger. Blood began to seep from the small wound. Dean quickly smudged it in the mask. He then threw the mask on the ground, sheathed his dagger, and backed up.

Deans eyes began to glow a bright blue. He raised his hands and spoke.

"Waya, I summon you."

The mask began to glow bright blue and the ground began to shake. The wind began to blow harder. The mask began levitating and the wind began to form a shape. Once the wind died down and the mask stopped glowing, a creature stood in the middle of it all. This creature was as big as a bear, but it had a long snout, pointed ears, and a long tail. This creature was a wolf, a big one. The fur color was mostly black. This black was darker than any night sky. The only other off putting thing about the creatures pelt was the fact that he had white splotches all over his body. These splotches made shapes of some very off putting objects. These markings made the wolf look like a walking skeleton. It stood up and towered over everyone. The creature opened its eyes and hit everyone with a cold intense stare. The eyes of the creature were a very bright blue. It then laid its eyes upon the human boy. Its eyes grew wide as it jumped on top of Dean and let out a deep growl to the wolves. The pack got into defensive positions and got ready to fight. Just as the fight was about to commence until a certain boy jumped out from under the wolf and in between the fight. Dean stopped the titanic creature dead in its tracks.

"No Waya, these are my friends and you will not hurt them."

The wolf looked at the boy and raised its paw. It then touched the boys head. Both of their eyes glowed a bright blue. Waya began to see everything that has happened to Dean. The camper van, his mother, meeting Runt, the wolves, and the poachers. He saw Runt being carried by the rogue wolves. Their eyes dimmed to their normal colors. Dean took a knee. The wolf stared at the boy at first, but then did the unthinkable. It bowed to the boy. Once its head was on the ground, it spoke.

"Forgive me Guardian, I misread the situation. I will do whatever you need of me to save your friend.

His voice held power with how deep it was. He rose up to his full height, so he could hear the boys orders.

"First of all, you don't need to bow to me, and second of all, I hate it when you do that. It hurts when you do that and it makes me dizzy."

"Forgive me, but it is the easiest way for me to be informed of past events. It seems a lot has happened in my absence."

"Yes, and I am so confused as to why some of those events occurred."

"I will do my best to gather the information needed to give you a valid answer to your questions."

"Thank you Waya."

"There is no need for thanks, it's my job."

Dean turned to everyone and spoke.

"Everyone, this is Waya. He is somewhat of a protector of me when my parents are not around. He was created by my father and mother before my sister was born. He can speak to spirits and many other things."

Tony cleared his throat and brought up a good point.

"Dean, I can't see how one big spirit- talking wolf will help us."

"Oh, he will be all the help we need."

Winston began to speak.

"Garth, I want all the wolves to be ready to go to the rogue pack and fight." Dean stopped him.

"With all do respect sir, Waya is capable of handling many adversaries at once."

"Are you saying he can take on a pack of wolves on his own?"

"That is exactly what I am saying."

Eve spoke after this. "I'll stay here and watch over the pack and the pups while you guys save Runt," said Eve.

"No way, we want to save Runt too," said Stinky.

"Yeah, he's our brother and we want to help," added Claudette.

Kate and Humphrey looked at them and then to each other and finally gave an answer.

"Ok, you can go, but if anything goes wrong we are having one of us take you home," said Kate.

"Deal," said the pups.

"Ok, now that we have that out of the way, how far is this rogue pack from here," asked Dean.

"It's about a three days trip," answered Kate.

"Ok, lead the way wolves."

With that Kate, Humphrey, Stinky, Claudette, Lilly, Garth, Winston, Tony, Dean, and Waya began the trek to Banff national park to save Runt. For the first hour of the adventure, it was silent. Dean was walking silently looking at his surroundings and deep in thought. He was planning a way to save Runt when he heard his name as if it was a thought.

"What?"

" Guardian, are you well? I asked what you were thinking about three times now," said Waya.

"I am fine Waya, I was just thinking and planning the rescue."

Stinky finally decided to speak.

"Hey Dean?"

"Yeah Stinky."

"Why, does he call you guardian?" Everyone was listening in on the conversation.

"It's the title my father was given, so Waya just calls me that or guardian pup."

"How are you able to do all that you do, and how do you change forms," asked Claudette.

"I was able to do all this since I was born. My father was created as a protector of everything good. He saved the lives of many creatures. His birth happened a long time ago. He was created with many gifts. He can shape shift, manipulate elements, he is not easily killed or can't die easily, and can use magic. He has lived a very long life. He learned how to fight in many ways and has traveled to many places. On one of his many travels he ran into a witch and her brother. A witch is a human that can use magic. They fell in love and got married. The siblings gained my father's long life. After they settled down, The witch became pregnant and a baby was born. This baby was a little girl. After eight years, a baby boy was born. The girl's name was Drew, and the boy's name was Dean. Those people are my parents and the girl is my sister. When we are born we can be hurt easily. My father said less things will hurt us as we get older. We will stop aging once we become adults. My sister and I had gained my parents powers. We can shape shift, but only into baby animals. We can't do a lot of magic because our bodies can't handle that power at the moment. We can only manipulate small amounts of elements. I am skilled in some forms of combat. I can't only do so much as a kid. I was trained in self defense mostly. That's about all I can do, so does anyone have any questions."

The wolves were in shock at what they were hearing, but kept their composure. Tony spoke first."

"If your family is so strong and powerful, then what was so dangerous that you had to be sent away?"

Dean was silent at first, but finally spoke.

"To be honest, I don't know, but it has something to do with my uncle."

"Ok, I have a question actually I have two," asked Humphrey.

"Ask away."

" What sort of magic can you do, and if you can't use a lot of magic, then how did you summon Waya?"

Dean's eyes began to glow a bright blue. Something began to form by Humphrey. He looked down and saw a little bird appear out of nowhere. Everyone just saw this bird appear out of thin air. It disappeared soon after.

"I can make illusions and put illusions in peoples minds. To answer your second question, I did not use my own magic to summon Waya. I used my blood as a key, and once I wiped it on the mask and I say I summon him he will appear."

"That is cool, and a little freaky at the same time."

"Yeah my life is a little crazy." After a few minutes of walking silently Dean spoke again.

"I am sorry I didn't tell you about me before, but I was taught to keep my heritage hidden."

The pack remained silent as they kept walking. Dean felt better now that he apologized. He was bored, so he grabbed his earbuds and his phone. He began listening to music as he walked. He continued to do this for a while and soon started to hum. Everyone but Waya looked confused as to what he was doing. Finally, their curiosity got the better of them and Claudette tapped him. He pulled one of his earbuds out and looked down at the pup.

"What?"

"What are you doing?"

"I am listening and humming to music." He then pulled out his earbuds and let the music play through the phone. Humphrey soon remembered something from his past adventures.

"Hey Kate, that's what those humans in the van were playing when we went to Idaho," he said.

"Your right dear, but this sounds different than from what we heard from the other humans."

"There's other types of music," interjected Dean.

He then began to list some genres and began playing songs from these genres.

"What's your favorite genre," asked Lilly.

"I don't really have a specific genre. I listen to a little bit of everything. My phone is special, it can have music from any time past, present, or future. I like to listen to music. Especially when I am bored. It keeps me entertained."

Everyone continued walking with Dean still humming. After a little bit, it started to get dark and the wolves found a small clearing.

"Ok everyone, we will rest here tonight," said Winston.

Everyone began to find a place to rest.

Dean moved to what looked like soft ground. He laid down and put a song on his phone. It was a quiet song with a lovely melody. It was a perfect lullaby. He soon felt someone plot down next to him. It was a big someone. He felt a massive paw grab him and move him closer. He was now trapped in Waya's bear hug.

"You know, I am not just a teddy bear you can cuddle at night Waya. Waya...there is no way you can fall sleep that fast. Waya?"

He looked and saw the massive wolf had his eyes closed.

Dean gave up on trying to escape and began to look around. Everyone was fast asleep... well everyone except for two. Stinky and Claudette were restless. They had never slept outside of their den and it was a little hard to get used to. Dean decided to help. He unplugged his earbuds and turned down his music just enough for everyone to hear, but not be woken by it. The pups began to settle and soon were fast asleep. Dean looked up at Waya one last time.

"Goodnight Waya."

He then looked up at the moon.

"No matter where you are, With all my love, be safe my family, goodnight."

Dean soon closed his eyes and began to sleep.

As soon as he did fall asleep, Waya's eyes opened and he looked down at the boy. His eyes held sadness. He spoke in his most quiet voice.

"I am so sorry."
