Lea Sokudo was having the time of his life, for today was the day he would finally try out the game, NewWorld Online. He got the game a lot earlier but, he decided to wait a while to play, at least until the end of the fourth event. One reason why he decided to wait this long was because he did not want to get involved right away with the game when a major event was going on, that and he just really wanted to see his favorite guild, Maple Tree, win. To him, even though he was not playing the game at the time, watching Maple Tree in action was one of the greatest things he ever witnessed.
Sure, there were many great guilds to follow in the game, two of them being the Flame Emperors and the Order of the Holy Sword, and Lea would be lying if he said that they were not amazing players. Those guilds however, in his opinion, pale in comparison to Maple Tree and its head, Maple, the player with the most Vitality, and some players are more than convinced that she may as well be the final boss of the game. Ever since Lea saw them, he wanted to join them, become one of the best players.
That time has finally come now that the fourth event has concluded, he was ready. Pulling out his VR headset he placed the game in, placed the VR headset on his head, laid down on his bed, and closed his eyes as he entered the world of NewWorld Online.
Opening his eyes saw that he was in the setup menu, time for him to make himself an avatar. First off, he needed to pick a name, that part was easy. He decided to call himself the name that his friend Rozu always called him, so he entered the name "Sonic". Next up was the equipment, this one was going to be challenge. At first, he thought to just go with a one-handed sword but thanks to a new update players can now choose even more weapons to start out with.
"Alright let's see what we got here." Lea said as he began scrolling through the many weapon items. He searched carefully but also quickly since he wanted to get the game started already. "Maybe I will just go with the one-hand- wait a minute." Lea stopped himself when saw what looked like a pair of gauntlets. He was not much of a fan, but he knew that players could customize weapons, so he decided to select the gauntlets. "Alright, can't wait to see what they can do."
Next was the part that he had been waiting for, the part where he adds his stat points. Since he got the game people have been asking if he was going to do what Maple did and put everything into Vitality, he then gave them all the same answer. He told them that no one could ever hope to copy Maple, she is one of a kind, and besides he already knew what he was going to put them into. He put all of his stat points into Agility, making him start of super weak and not so durable but he always believed that enemies could not hit something that was faster than them.
And that was something he always wanted, to run super fast. "Like I always say, gotta go fast."
Finally came the part where he could customize his avatar, unfortunately he could only customize his physical appearance and not his armor and weapons, but that is not a problem for him since he knew that everyone starts out the same way, so it was alright. He always felt that his height was fine the way it was in the real world, so he left that alone, he did however, decided to change his hair color.
He always favored blue since it was a color that meant freedom, intuition, and inspiration. Messing with the controls he made his hair take on a slightly dark blue appearance, but he was not done there, he felt that his eyes could also look different. Lea was not entirely sure that if he kept the color of his eyes the same then maybe someone from his school that does play the game would recognize his. Though the odds of that were very low he did not want to chance it and changed his eyes from brown to green.
"Alright, I'm finally ready. Took long enough." Lea said that last part more sarcastically than he intended but he did want to start the game as fast as he could. Confirming all the changes his body was then enveloped in light. "Here we go."
