Dean rose up from his slumber, and he was frustrated. It was the morning after and he was unsuccessful in finding the entity.
"Uh, why won't he show himself," he mumbled. He had been sleeping on and off all day, and now it was the evening. He looked out and saw that it was getting dark, and everyone else was done eating and they all had a good day. Dean didn't see much of them today. The pups went to play with their grandparents, aunt, and uncle, Humphrey was playing with his omega friends, and Kate was patrolling. When he woke up from one of his naps, he saw that Kate entered first. He woke up to the pups second, and Humphrey came in last. He fell asleep and woke up to food, ate it, got a drink and fell asleep again. This all leads up to him waking up now, and mumbling to himself. He walked out and sat down on the ledge.
"With all my love, no matter where you are my family, be well, and goodnight."
He then walked back into the den and laid down. He said his goodnights to everyone, closed his eyes, and drifted off to sleep. Once he opened his eyes again, he was surrounded by grey clouds. All that he could see were grey clouds. He then saw a light through the clouds. He saw the blurry wolves again. They looked still blurry, and the facial features weren't recognizable for Dean.
"Huh, it has been a while since I have seen you. You are probably going to start running and the cloud will come and torment me again." The wolves remained. Dean grew uneasy. He decided to take a step toward them. They did not move. He then took another step toward them, and the same result occurred. He then began walking closer and closer to them. Just as he was about to touch one, some grabbed his foot and tore him through the ground. Next thing he knew, he was on something fluffy. He realized he was on his bed. He was in his room. He was back in Colorado. He was home.
"What," he thought.
"Dean! Your breakfast will be cold, if you don't come down soon," spoke a feminine voice. Dean's eyes shot open and he quickly opened his door. He ran down stairs and saw two people in one room. The room was a dojo, and the two people who were in there were Jesse and Drew. They were meditating by the looks of it. They had there eyes closed. Dean hugged both of them from behind. If this was a dream, then he didn't want to wake up. His father smiled, and his sister giggled. He then walked down the hall by another room, this room was a laboratory. Dean saw a man in a white lab coat with shoulder length black hair. He was looking into a microscope. Dean shivered at the sight. "Good morning Dean," spoke the man.
Dean blinked before answering.
"Uh, good morning Uncle Julius."
He then sped walked away from the room and finally made it to his destination. He was in the kitchen and he saw the table in the center of the room with a plate of pancakes on it. He then saw a woman standing in front of the stove. Dean sat down, and he inspected the plate of food.
"Moment of truth." He then cut a piece and put it in his mouth. The syrup and pancake taste made Dean smile and quickly take in another bite. He took a drink of his apple juice near by. He soon finished eating and burped.
"The food is great mother, you really outdid yourself."
"Thank you sweety, would you like more? You are a growing boy after all."
"No thank you."
"Oh you really should eat more. Runt will be bigger than you if you don't eat."
"How did she know about Runt," thought the boy. His smile faded and the realization hit him.
"Dean," said Sarah.
"Please don't do this."
"Do what sweety?"
"You call me that again and I'll make you regret it," spoke the boy, coldly.
"Dean! I am your mother!"
"No...you...aren't. You are the thing in my head. That lame excuse of a cloud. He is a narcissistic fart cloud, and he is putting all this in my head. You, everyone else, even this place isn't real. I am still asleep in the den. Dean then looked up at his mothers face and fell out of his chair in fright. The thing impersonating Sarah had one flaw that differentiated the two. Sarah's eyes weren't bright red.
He then turned his head and saw everyone else had entered the room, and their eyes were the same. Everything around him began to vanish until it was only him and the creature.
"You really are a clever boy, and persistent when you want to find something," spoke the voice.
Dean ran over and swung at the creature. He phased right through it. The creature continued to speak as though nothing happened.
"I decided to show myself to you because I was tired of watching you fail."
"Well I am so sorry you had to take time out of your busy schedule to answer my call, but ,now that you are here, I want to know who you are. You are not my uncle, so what are you?"
"You... want... my...name. Unfortunately, I was never given a name, but for you I know exactly what you can call me."
"A pain in my butt."
The creature moved extremely close to the boy. Dean could feel his breath.
"Destroyer," it spoke.
Dean quickly backed away from the creature to create distance between him.
"I am going to break free from my bindings and I am going to destroy everything in my wake. I will be unrivaled, and it all will start with you."
"I won't let you do anything. Whatever is holding you in my head, I'll make sure it keeps you there. If I have you in my head, then you can't come out."
"Oh, that is a good idea...,but there is a problem. The walls of my cage are fading, and I will break free. I just need to wait you out."
"Oh yeah, well good luck in that."
"Oh, why thank you. You are just so kind. You know what I shall reward you for your kindness."
"How will yo-." Before Dean could finish that sentence, He was enveloped by the smoke. It held him down by his hands and feet. It then forced him to look the creature in the eye.
"Before I go, I will let you in on a little secret. Before this is over, I will have taken over your whole body and powers." The creature gave a devilish grin, and the cloud surrounding his face moved away. Dean's eyes grew huge. He looked like he had seen a ghost. Dean couldn't believe what he was seeing, who he was seeing.
"No...no...no...no," was all he could utter. The creature began to laugh. This laugh continued to grow louder, and louder until Dean shot up like a rocket from his slumber.
"No," his scream woke up the whole den. He created a damp spot on the ground with the amount of sweat he created. He was breathing extremely heavily and quick. Everyone ran to his side.
"Dean, what's wrong," Kate asked.
Dean remained silent.
"Buddy, talk to us, so we can help," spoke Humphrey. Dean still remained silent.
"It was a nightmare," he spoke. It was barely audible, but the wolves heard it just fine.
He looked out and saw that it was morning.
Kate looked into his eyes and saw many emotions. The three that stood out to her were sadness, pain, and he looked tired.
"Dean, your nightmare must have been terrifying. I really think you'll feel better if you talk to someone about them. It's not healthy for you to keep all of it inside."
"Dean, please tell us," spoke Runt.
"We want you to be ok," spoke Claudette.
"Whatever makes you better, please do it," spoke Stinky.
"Guys, I want to be ok too, but ,whatever is in my head, terrifies me. I don't want to wine about my problems to you guys. You are super nice and cool, and I don't want to bother you with my problems. I am supposed to be a future guardian, but I keep getting scared over a nightmare."
"Buddy, you are a pup. You aren't a Guardian yet. It's ok to be scared," spoke Humphrey.
"Adults never get scared," Dean retorted.
"I don't know who told you that, but it's not true. Everyone gets scared, especially adults."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"What are you scared of?"
"I am scared of losing what I have."
"Like what dad," asked Runt
"Like...you, like...Stinky,...like...Claudette, and like...your mother."
"I think we share the same fear," spoke Dean.
"Is that what your nightmares about? Losing your loved ones."
"No... what I see in my nightmares, it is so much worse."
"Then tell us. Please Dean, we want to help," pleaded Kate.
Dean remained silent until he let out an exhausted breath, and he gave in.
"Ok, I'll tell you."
