The next morning, Dean opened his eyes and saw that he was in between Runt, and Humphrey. He quietly rose up from his slumber, and he began quietly moving past the bodies of sleeping wolves. He saw that it was snowing. Winter was officially here, and the breeze hit Dean hard.
"It is snowing today...great," he said. "Good thing I have my cloak. I wish I had warmer clothes, but I guess I'll make due." Dean then got an idea.
"I could stay as a pup. My fur is about as warm as my cloak. I guess I'll decide later tonight." The grey sky coated the valley in snow. Dean decided to go for a walk.
He looked back and saw that everyone was starting to wake up. He then looked down and realized that he still had his daggers sheathed around him.
"Huh, I forgot about you two."
Kate walked up behind him. And yawned.
"Good morning Dean, and what did you forget about?"
"Good morning, and I forgot that I still had my daggers around my waist."
"They are weapons, right?"
"Yes, they were given to me by my father. He wanted me to be safe, so he taught me how to use them."
"That's good"
"Yeah, so if I have to use them, I know-"
Before he could finish that sentence, a serrated sword landed right in between the two. They both quickly backed up from it. Dean looked like he saw a ghost. He knew who's sword that belonged too.
"He's here," he thought to himself."
"What is this," asked Kate.
"Kate, keep everyone in here, please don't let anyone come out."
Dean then heard a screech from the sky. he looked up and saw a peregrine falcon.
"My uncle is here, please don't let anyone out."
Dean quickly ran away from the den, he wanted to get as far away from the pack as possible.
"Gotta get distance, gotta get away from everyone," Dean thought.
Everyone back at the den was up, and Kate told them what Dean told them.
Dean kept running, and running. He then heard the falcon screech again. He looked around and realized that he was in the center of the valley. He turned and saw that the bird was diving right towards him. He had only a few seconds to move out of the birds way. He jumped back, and before the bird hit the ground, it formed back into Julius and as soon as he landed, he blew a gust of wind in Dean's direction. Dean went flying into the air. He opened his eyes and looked down. The ground was a long ways away. He started free falling. He started making small gusts of wind bursts from his hands. He hit the ground with a thud, but no extreme amounts of damage was taken from the fall. Dean looked around and noticed that he was out of the valley.
"Great, I am now away from everyone," he said to himself.
He quickly found a small abandoned den to hide in.
A few minutes later, Julius' boots appeared in front of the den.
"Dean," he shouted. "I know you can here me, so why don't you just come out."
As Julius continued to try and coarse Dean out of hiding, Dean was planning a way of escaping. He then had a plan. Dean's eyes began to glow blue, something manifested in front of him. It was right in front of the den. It was an exact copy of himself. It soon dashed out of the den and ran the opposite direction of the den. Julius turned and saw it running. He soon ran after it. The real Dean began running back to the pack. He wanted to runt past the pack, and just go north. He wanted Julius to go one way, and him to go the opposite way. He knew that Kate, Humphrey and the pups would be sad, but he wanted to keep them safe even if he wasn't there. He continued running, his eyes were still glowing, this meant the fake was still running the opposite direction. Dean didn't know how long he could keep this up, he was fading fast. He could only use so much magic before it hurts him. He made it back to the valley, and he continued to run through. He was huffing and puffing, his muscles ached, but he knew to keep running.
"Dean," screamed a feminine voice. "STOP!"
Dean continued to run until he was soon pinned by something.
"Get Off Me," screamed Dean. "I have to keep running."
"Just stop and talk to us," said a male voice.
He looked around and saw that Kate pinned him, and he was surrounded by everyone. Humphrey was right next to her.
"My uncle is here. I need to leave to keep everyone safe."
"You are going to run yourself to death," said Kate as she got off him.
"Why are you guy's outside? you need to be in your dens."
"You're nose if bleeding," said Humphrey.
Dean quickly rubbed the blood off his nose.
More and more wolves gathered around.
Dean then felt a sharp pain in his head. His glowing eyes soon diminished to the regular blue. He was out of magic, and this means his fake had vanished. Julius no longer had a fake to chase. A scream then ran through the forest.
"What was that," asked Tony.
"My bait disappeared, and he is mad," said Dean.
A sound of wind moving quickly began growing louder and louder among the pack.
"HE'S COMING," screamed Dean.
The wind grew louder, and the trees began moving. Soon, trees were uprooted, and a tornado bursted through the trees, and at the edge of the valley. The wind soon died down, and the one responsible for it was the one standing at the border. He looked very agitated.
The wolves saw a human. This human had medium length black hair, he wore black clothes, and had a black covering over his eyes. His skin was pale. Dean saw his worst nightmare. Out of everything for him to see he did not want to see his uncle. This day, this great day he thought of when he woke up, flew out the window.
"NO MORE RUNNING NEPHEW," screamed the man "I AM SETTLING THIS NOW!"
Dean pulled out his daggers.
"Everyone stay behind me," said Dean. "Do not interfere." He then turned his attention to Julius. "YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO CALL ME THAT! BRING IT ON!!
Julius sword came to him, and he glared at the group. Dean continued to stare at Julius. He managed to catch his breath for a little bit at least. The line in the sand was drawn. The tension could have been cut with a knife. It was quiet. All that could be heard was the wind. The snow continued to fall. Out of nowhere the two sprinted to each other. Both combatants had their weapons at the ready. The distance was closing fast. Soon the two collided the sword hit the ground when it was intended for Dean. He jumped on the blade and dashed past the man. Julius quickly turned to meet his enemy, but he soon felt a small pain in his arm. He looked at one of Dean's daggers and saw...blood? He looked at his arm and saw that Dean had indeed draw first blood. Dean just continued to glare at him. The man then lunged at Dean again, and Dean managed to cut his leg. The cuts are quick, and not deep enough to kill, but they will hurt. Julius lunged at Dean once more, but this time he grabbed Dean by the arm and threw him to the ground. Dean's body bounced with the force he was hit with. He had no time to recover, for Julius' sword was coming down on His skull. Dean quickly blocked the attack with his other dagger and the swords trajectory hit just a few centimeters from Dean's head. He used the same dagger to lodge it into Julius' arm. Julius released his grip on the boy's arm, and he jumped back. Dean quickly stood up and got into a fighting stance. Julius held his arm, and quickly removed the dagger from his arm. Dean changed his tactics, and he soon ran to Julius. He now had a weakness for Dean to exploit. His left arm was now useless, due to the bleeding wound from Dean's dagger. Kept on applying attacks to the left side of Julius' body. Soon the villain's body was riddled with small cuts, and he staggered around. He bent down to one knee, and was huffing and puffing. Dean soon took this opportunity to catch his own breath.
"Enough, you have been defeated . Mother and father will find me and you won't hurt us again."
Julius began to laugh. Dean looked at him questionably.
"Is that what my sister told you," asked the villain. "Dean, they won't find me because they are dead."
"What," was all Dean could say before he felt his foot being enveloped by the ground. He was unable to move. Another bit of earth came and entrapped his arm with the dagger. Julius ran up and kneed Dean right in the gut. Dean couldn't breathe. The rocks vanished and Dean fell to his knees, holding his stomach. He then felt a knee collide with his face, and he skidded on the ground. Dean staggered to his feet but ,soon, a rock came and hit him from behind. He went back to the ground. He got up once more, and was hit by another stone. This occurred three more times. Dean got on his hands and knees, but he was soon grabbed by his cloak, and lifted to where he was eye to eye with the villain. Dean grabbed his arm, and his hands soon grew hot. Julius quickly released Dean, and he looked at his arm. He saw burn marks in the shape of a small palm branded onto him. He then grabbed Dean again and punched him. He used wind to send him flying even further. Dean didn't get up this time. Julius began to tend to his wounds and heal them with his magic. He then walked over to Dean. He now had bruises all over his body, and he now possessed a black eye. His cloak was torn up, and he was coated with blood, so much so, that it coated the snow beneath him. Julius then used the rocks to bind Dean's arms, and his legs. He wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. The sword then appeared in Julius' hand he looked as if he never took a scratch. He used his magic to heal.
"Any last words before you meet your end," spoke the villain. Dean wheezed something under his breath, but Julius didn't hear it. He got closer to the battered face of his adversary.
"What was that," he asked.
"Liar," whispered the wounded Dean.
"Liar huh, you still don't believe me about your parents? Fine, just to prove to you how much of a liar I am not, I will tell you exactly how I killed our family. I will start with the patriarch of the family, your father. I told him how you must die, and he was going to stop me. I stabbed him in the back before he could. Your mother tried to fight me with magic, but I used every resource to stop her. I played dirty, and I snapped her neck. Drew, sweet, sweet Drew. My niece with the voice of an angel is gone as well, and finally, your loyal bodyguard, Waya. We fought a great battle, but ,in the end, Waya used too much energy protecting you, and I broke the mask. He did manage to cripple me of most of my magic, and ,if you don't believe me, then you can see for yourself in the afterlife."
Dean didn't believe a word he said. He would punch Julius in the jaw if he could, but he couldn't break free from the bindings, and he was in extreme pain. He closed his eyes, and he waited to die.
"No," screamed a child-like voice. Dean's eyes shot open, and they darted to the direction of the voice. His fears were confirmed when he saw that it was Runt who had spoken. Julius turned his head and noticed the small pup.
Julius looked to the pup, he saw fear, and anger on his face. He saw another pup and saw the same expression. He looked at all the wolves, and he saw that they feared him, and were angry with him. The faces had one thing in common, they were silently judging Julius. He was being judged on his actions.
This angered Julius
"You dogs have no right to judge me. I am trying to save the world by killing him. I am a good person! If you interfere, then I will have no choice but to terminate you." The villain then rubbed his neck and began to speak once more.
"On second thought, I will just do this terminating now. I have been through too much than to just let a pack of wolves stop my job. I will start with the one who spoke out against me." Julius then began walking to Runt, Stinky, Claudette, Kate, and Humphrey. He had his sword drawn.
"Julius no," pleaded Dean. "Don't you do anything to them, do it to me. I beg you, Hurt me, HURT ME, KILL ME, JUST DON'T HURT THEM!"
Dean's pleads were falling on deaf ears, and Julius continued advancing to the family. Dean then felt something. Something inside him switched on like a light. He then heard something in his head.
"LET ME OUT! I CAN HELP YOU. LET ME OUT," it screamed. This message continued to play in Dean's head, and it grew louder and louder, until.
"Fine, come out, just HELP ME," screamed Dean. "Julius, leave them ALONE!" Dean then felt a sharp pain in his head. He let out an unholy scream. The pain was unbearable. He wiggled and churned in his restraints. Julius finally turned his attention back to Dean, and when he turned his eyes grew wide. Dean opened his eyes, and they were red, crimson. Julius soon grew fearful.
"No...it is taking control," spoke Julius. He ran back to Dean, and readied an attack. He swung his sword, but Dean screamed and a huge red light shot around him, and Julius was sent flying.
Julius stood up and looked on in horror.
"I am too late," was all he could say.
