Hey everycreature! What's up!?
So the My Little Pony: A New Generation movie has finally come out and boy was it amazing! I enjoyed it a lot, with the animation, lines, comedy and such was awesome! The story seemed a little rushed and could have been a little more, but it was still very passable!
Now from this point on, there is spoilers, so if you haven't seen the movie, stop reading now!
So I thought of this one shot the first time I watched the campfire scene, when Izzy reveals that she received the drawing Sunny and her dad drew many years ago! Hope you enjoy!
It was a sunny day in Bridlewood, well sunny as can be, since the place was literally a wood, with trees blocking out the sun from above, but there was a spot where there was enough of a clearing to shine some sunlight upon one of the houses. And well the house was also literally a tree and in there lived a unicorn mare and her little filly, their home a work of art in itself as the mare was an artist, currently working on a new sculpture with some help of course.
"My Moonbow, I need some blu…" The mare started, but before she could a little purple filly with a bright blue mane and tail, held up a pot of blue paint for the mare. "Thank you." The mare smiled as she took the pot as the filly returned to where she was sitting as the mare heard the filly sigh a little. "Something wrong?"
"Mom, why don't we ever go visit somewhere else?" The little filly asked.
"Oh Izzy, you know why, outside of Bridlewood is dangerous, we don't know what the Earth and Pegasus ponies are like." The mare answered.
"I know the stories mom…" Izzy sighed again. "But we don't have any friends here… And we could make some friends out there." Little Izzy said with hope in her eyes.
The mare understood her little daughter well, she didn't really have any friends in Bridlewood, with most of the unicorns all down in the dumps after their mysterious magic loss. And well little Izzy was just a little bundle of joy and laughter, a very odd thing in these parts, but it made her curious about the outside world, what adventures they could have and friends along the way.
"Maybe one day we will my little Moonbow, just you and me." The mare promised. "Now pass me another brush, I want to finish this sculpture by the end of the day." The mare said as little Izzy did as her mom said.
Nighttime fell and after dinner, Izzy and her mom went to sleep, however little Izzy couldn't and soon enough went outside to the balcony of the house, looking up into the starlit sky. It was so peaceful as Izzy counted the many stars blanketing the sky, only there was one strange looking star that grew brighter and brighter with each passing second until Izzy could make it out fully. It wasn't a star, but a floating lantern, with something attached to it and well curious little Izzy was interested as by fate a little breeze blew the lantern straight towards the little filly.
"What is it?" Izzy asked out loud as the lantern finally settled down on the balcony as Izzy trotted to it.
Any other unicorn most likely would have gotten rid of it, fearful of what it could be, not knowing where it came from, but not Izzy as she carefully picked up what was attracted to the lantern. It was a piece of drawing paper, but it was blank… At least the current side Izzy was looking at, turning it to the other side…
"Wow…" Was all Izzy could get out, all her hopes and dreams seeming to come true.
It was a drawing from what looked like another little pony, on top were the words, "Dear unicorns and pegasi", in the middle was a drawing of the three different kinds of ponies, having a sort of a picnic under a rainbow, and the bottom were the words, "You have friends in Maretime Bay. Come visit us!". Izzy right away knew what she would do, she would find out where Maretime Bay is and once she was ready and old enough she would set out on an adventure to find herself some new friends. And maybe she would even bring her mom along, maybe her work could finally be appreciated by more than just the two of them…
Years later…
After a long journey by herself through the land and much searching Izzy finally arrived at her destination as she set her eyes upon a nice looking town by the seaside, the only thing out of place would be a large building on top of a hill overlooking the town. Except for that, Izzy smiled as it wasn't what the unicorns often pictured Maretime Bay to be, it was a friendly looking place that Izzy was sure she would meet many ponies who would love to meet somepony new themselves. Izzy took one more long look at the place before reaching for the back of head, taking out that drawing she received so many years ago…
"I did it mom, I finally got here…" Izzy said softly. "I wish you could be here too…" Izzy sighed, but put that sadness away and formed a smile on as she trotted down to Maretime Bay, eager and all set to make a new friend.
And that's a wrap on this little one shot!
I did think about ending it right at the moment Izzy sees Sunny, but at the same time I felt that the times everypony was running away from Izzy wouldn't be so good to finish things off on!
Hope you enjoyed anyway and with that…
See everycreature later!
