Unlikely Heroes

Chapter 33: End of the Queens

Meanwhile Morgan was still on the line with O'Ryan. "Immediate contaminate is imperative," the first male human said. "Far too much is at stake here." By this point it was now 1:17 am. "You are blinded, a humanist with no cause. It's a lost cause, Director O'Ryan."

The said guy got up out of his chair to think. "Feel free to cut the bullshit Morgan," he replied. "You're playing with fire again, but this time you will get burned."

"Loose ends can only exacerbate the situation. Think twice, Director, or you may regret it." The call was then ended.

"Boy, you never disappoint Morgan," O'Ryan said with a sigh. "But once we have the truth, your mistakes will never be repeated."

Meanwhile on the ship Jill's group was at, they heard a warning siren and felt the boat begin to move as the huge wave of water got closer. "Time to clear out," Napoleon stated as he held onto Pachira. Logan was doing the same thing with Uma. They all ran towards the door.

Just then they all staggered as something hard hit the ship. Then Logan spotted what looked like water beginning to come through the door. He quickly brought out the goggles and breath devices and tossed them to everyone thanks to those ruins. They had barely got them on when the door was thrown to the side and water fully flooded the room. Jill led the way until the group reached a ladder. "The water's rising," Parker said. "We have no choice but to get out of here."

The elevator used to reach this section was out of order. So it was back to the water and swimming. After going through a couple of doors, someone contacted the group. "This is Chris, Vermillion!" the male human Jill and the others had been looking for said. "Parker, Jill! Listen carefully!"

"The ship is done for!" came Nicholas's voice. "But we can't let this virus contaminate the sea. Are group is heading towards the ship you're on. Just hold on."

"We'll contact you soon. Don't die in there. We're out," said Chris and the call was cut.

The group kept swimming, taking out whatever enemies stood in their way. Finally though they found a place to surface and head towards the casino. Chris contacted them again and asked if they were alright. "Yes, we're fine, but the ship is sinking fast," Jill replied.

"We're approaching the ship now," went Nicholas's voice as that group contacted the first again.

"Rendezvous at the ship's hall," said Chris.

"Roger, we'll be waiting," Jill replied.

"Okay, see you soon." The call was then cut.

Meanwhile Chris's group was approaching the ship by a fast hovercraft like vehicle with four machine gun turrets. "That's it, the Queen Lenobia," Chris said as they could all see it.

"More like what's left of her," Jessica commented.

Suddenly they all the sound of something passing by underwater and along with surfacing briefly. The males looked to the side and spotted it briefly. "Stay sharp," Nicholas growled. "There's something out there." Everyone got to one of the guns.

On Chris and Nicholas's side they saw something rise out that was long and thin. There was some kind of mandible mouth where the head was. There were spots of pink on the dull colored body. "There it is!" the male werewolf said and him and the male human fired using the machine guns on the vehicle. They were careful as these guns if used too much would overheat and need time to cool down.

The thing went down but then another came out. It lunged towards the craft but Liru and Jessica shot it down. Kratos and Venus were letting out fierce barks but were staying where they were. "God, these tentacles are annoying!" the female human stated.

"Try a grenade on them!" Nicholas exclaimed. These guns could fire three each.

Of them fired one which cleared some of the enemies but more kept coming. "Why didn't we use the helicopter for this one Chris?!" Jessica exclaimed.

"Because the satellite's laser fried out all the electronics," he replied.

"Yeah… it's worse than a black out!" Nicholas commented.

"Incoming!" Liru shouted as they then saw the tentacles launch some kind or round projectiles with lone pink spines at the group. These were quickly shot down.

"How many of these things are there?!" Jessica exclaimed.

"Keep your aim sharp; they're not letting up!" Chris said.

After a bit more of the firing, it had come time to move. "We're going around; hang on!" Nicholas stated.

The enemies kept coming and so the male werewolf fired a grenade from his gun to help clear them out. More of the projectiles were fired at the vehicle and shot down. This didn't seem to end but then finally at last, they got towards the front of the ship. The enemies also disappeared. "We need a good spot to board the Lenobia," Chris said.

"I hope the others inside are okay," whispered Liru and soon the humans, dogs, and werewolves were on board and making their way to the other group.

Meanwhile Jill's one had made it to the VIP room at the casino and she took a bit of time to upgrade her weapons with the parts found. They then exited and made it down the stairs to the fountain. Suddenly the sound of clapping was heard. They saw above them was the guy in the gas mask from before. "That is!" Pachira stated.

"Deltro!" Parker said as they all cocked their weapons at the person. "You almost missed the party!"

"Friendly DSAA patrons," the figure said. "You stopped that satellite. Now I will reveal what I know. Everything about the Queen Lenobia and the secrets she keeps!"

"What secrets?" Napoleon demanded.

"Consider this: First, why did it take till now to find the Queen Lenobia? How was it able to float around the Mediterranean undetected? It wasn't magic. Second, why did all traces of Deltro vanish after the Derragrigia Panic?"

"Why don't you tell us, huh?" Parker shot back. The masked man scoffed before continuing.

"… And third… Why is someone trying to use that satellite to destroy the Lenobia? The answers to those questions will lead you to inconvenient truth. You were to have find it. And that-"

Suddenly a gunshot was heard and the guy on the balcony fell to the floor, his gas mask falling off. The person landed face down and didn't move. Jill's group whipped around and saw it was Jessica who had fired. Chris and the others from that group were quickly behind her and the male human grabbed the gun to lower it. "Jessica!" he stated. "Why did you fire?"

"To protect our people," she replied. "Isn't that our job?"

Parker and those in his group ran over to the fallen body. "Don't you dare die…" Parker said, flipping the person over. He pulled off the part of the hood that was still on and to their shock it was Laymond. "Damn…"

"Laymond?" Pachira asked in shock.

"What… why?" Parker asked. "Why play the part of Deltro?"

He and Napoleon heard the second male human move his lips as though to speak and got down to that part to hear what he said. "What do you mean?" the male vampire asked.

"Find the truth about Derragrigia…" Laymond whispered and went still. It was now 2:14 am on the ship.

"What a terrible loss…" Parker said. Everyone else by that point had gathered around the body.

Suddenly something caused the ship to rock hard. Jessica fell right into Chris, but some could tell on purpose. "This ship doesn't have much longer," Jill commented. "We can't let this virus containment the sea."

Chris pushed Jessica off of him. "We already searched the ship we went to," Nicholas stated. "So my group should know where this ship's lab is."

"We're headed there now," the male human who had done the pushing said.

"Alright, I'll try to find a way to delay the sinking," Parker commented. "Jessica, you with me?"

"Yeah…" she replied with a smile.

"Count me and Pachira in," Napoleon stated.

"Sure, sounds like fun," his girl said. "A little swapping like this should be interesting."

"And a way to keep on our toes," her guy commented.

"Roger that," Nicholas replied.

"Leave the virus to us!" Liru stated with a grin and fist up.

"You guys buy us some time," Chris told the other group.

"Got it," Pachira replied.

Chris, Jill, Nicholas, Liru, Uma, Logan, and the dogs started walking towards the path that would take them to the lab. "Jill, this works anywhere, even underwater," the male human said after her handed the female human some kind of mine. "Should slow those things down."

"Thanks Chris," she replied to him with a smile.

"Also I've marked off all possible locations for the lab."

The other group watched them head up the stairs that went to the VIP room. "He never got the hint," Jessica said with a sigh. "What a drag."

"Maybe he's already taken Jessica," Parker commented with a smirk.

Meanwhile at the crash site it was now 2:50 am in the morning. Quint and Cosmo were busy typing at the terminal. Keith was trying to keep warm and Aiko was helping him do so with some tasty warm liquid. "Well, well, well…" the male human with the male android said.

"You said it," Cosmo commented. "This thing's amazing." The other two in the group came over just in time to see the downloading process begin. Suddenly the screen that showed it disappeared and the screen went black.

"What the-?!" Quint stated. He pressed one of the keys a few times. The guy tried typing something and nothing happened. Both he and Cosmo began to scratch their chins.

"So what the hell did you two do?" Keith asked. The three males and even Akio began to laugh as that was ridiculous to say.

"We didn't do anything," the male android replied.

Keith decided to take a look at the power while Quint got a mug of the same liquid the first human had been drinking. "Awww, don't tell me the battery's dead," Keith groaned. "This blows."

"The upside is that this whole conspiracy is becoming clearer," Quint stated and took a drink from his cup.

"You said it," Cosmo said. He then turned to his girl and Keith. "We have to get back to the airport; on the double!"

"Hey, hold up!" Aiko stated as she saw him begin to walk that direction with Quint. Keith also hurried up with following like her.

Soon the group of four were standing outside the place. "Nobody's home," Keith said. "Even the other teams have packed it in."

"So what are we doing here?" Aiko asked.

"It's okay," Quint replied. "I set up a back door. I can use any PDA to get us in."

"Well why didn't you say that earlier?" Keith asked. They went up to the door.

"If our theory is correct, then the truth about Deltro is really…" Cosmo began but then trailed off for a moment. "Too early to say."

"Are you kidding me?" Keith asked in an annoyed tone.

"We don't want to jump to conclusions," Quint said.

"It'll take just a little more intel," the male android commented. With that, they went inside.

"Alright, let's find that computer," Keith stated.

"There's an area we haven't explored over there," Aiko said.

"I hope is that it has a high-powered CPU," Quint commented. "That would be tits."

"Did he have to say that?" Aiko whispered to her boyfriend.

"Sorry honey, but you know how guys are," he replied softly to her. "I know you're still a virgin and words like that can make you uncomfortable. Just ignore it and let it slide."

They went through a couple of doors and down a small flight of stairs. Then it was around a corner and suddenly Hunters showed up. "Shit!" the male android in the group stated.

"More B.O.W.s!" Keith exclaimed. "I knew Deltro was involved!"

"Thing is, they haven't been here the whole time," Quint said.

"What?! Who cares?! Just shoot, goddamn it!"

The enemies were all killed quickly. "There's someone who they didn't want around if Deltro came back," Quint said as the small group continued onward. "So they had to shake this up…"

"Nope," Cosmo told the male human. "Now's not the time for conspiracy theories."

They made it to the room where the security token had been picked up. The group rode the elevator here down and emerged into the room they hadn't been at. Here another new gun was found, some grenades, and lots of ammunition. There were even a couple of rocket launcher here to. There were two generators and some kind of computer in a corner. "Hmm!" Quint stated. "Is that a… real in-the-flesh MB-28?! Guys! It's what I always wanted!"

Keith found another gun and took it. "You take to gadgets like a fly to horse shit," the human said. "It's just a computer."

Quint and Cosmo went up to it and began to type on the keyboard. "Ok, down to the brass tacks," the male android stated. Then he noticed something. "Uh what the hell? Nothing's happening…"

"What did you guys do?!" Keith asked. Aiko found some detonators perfect for dealing with B.O.W.s.

"It's not us!" Quint replied. "We need more power. The MB-28's a real gas guzzler."

"There's gotta be a generator here!" Cosmo stated. "We need it!"

"I saw two in here," Aiko commented. "I'll try both."

"And in the meantime Quint, you spend quality time with your girlfriend," Keith teased. He watched as the female android took care of the generators. "Here we go. I hope this rusted piece of crap works."

It turned out the two generators was what it took. "Alright!" Quint stated. "Full power. Initiate analysis."

"So you get anything?" Keith asked after a bit of time had passed.

"No, we've got to get through the layers of encryption on this thing first," Cosmo replied.

"But that should only take a few minutes with me and my baby MB-28," Quint stated.

Suddenly the small group heard the sound of howling that was familiar. "Uh-oh…" Aiko said.

Then mutated wolves form before began to come in through the broken windows in here. "Uh, Grinder!" Quint stated, seeing this.

"We're on it!" Keith replied. Even Cosmo stopped working.

"You keep doing your thing!" the male android stated, drawing his guns. "Leave this to us!"

The other three who weren't working at the computer went on the offensive. The males were aggressive while Aiko fired more for defense due to not being a violent being. "Shit!" Keith stated. "I think they've been after us this whole time."

"I don't think the DBC liked me and Cosmo's unauthorized access," Quint said.

"One way to look at it," the male android commented after killing another enemy.

"The DBC?!" Keith asked. "What are you talking about?!"

"I'm hacking into their secret servers now!" Quint replied. "Me and Cosmo found them by chance when we investigated the crash, but this attack proves their involved."

"What he says is the truth," the male android said after taking down another enemy. "But we've gotta give him time to get the whole truth!"

Hunters began to show up now. "How much longer now?!" Keith asked after shooting a few down.

"Let's see… Only uh, 28 percent finished," Quint replied.

"Your girlfriend is the slowest! You know that Quint!"

The enemies kept coming in. At one point one of the generators stopped working due to the lever being knocked up. Aiko took care of that problem quickly. "We're at 54 percent!" Quint then said.

"Ok, we're in it to win now," Keith commented.

"A lot of enemies today," Cosmo then said after some more enemies were shot down.

"Thanks for the report, Captain Obvious!" Keith shot back sarcastically.

"They must have been alerted when we tried to hack our way in," Quint commented. "You gotta hold them off!"

"We're trying!" Aiko said.

The enemies then began to come in harder and faster. "How much longer now?!" Keith stated. "You don't know how much this blows!"

"We just hit 80 percent!" Quint replied. "Almost there!"

Just then some of the invisible enemies began to come in. "Not these guys!" Aiko stated.

"Shit, this enough to make a grown man cry," Keith grumbled.

Finally though at least, the rest got the news that they were at 100 percent. The remaining enemies were killed. Cosmo joined the human at the computer. "Ok, I think it's safe to have a look at the data now," the male android said. "You guys ready?"

He and Quint began to type on the keyboard. They pulled back after some moments. "Right, right that explains it," the male human said. The male android nodded in agreement.

"Explains what?" Keith asked. "Who's behind Deltro?"

"Probably," Cosmo answered. "There's only one way to find out. Let's ask him ourselves." Everyone got on their communicators to HQ.

"This is Forkball; O'Ryan here," came the reply.

"Huh?!" Keith stated. "What the hell?! O'Ryan's our man?!"

"It can't be!" Aiko commented.

"Director O'Ryan," Quint said. "I think me and Cosmo have got it all put together. Deltro was never back in action. It was all smoke and mirrors orchestrated by yourself. Your own little Deltro production… All to get in the head of one certain someone."

Back at HQ, the said guy turned to look at the picture of him and Morgan. "You've pretty much got it," the said human answered. "Glad I'm not paying you for nothing."

Suddenly Keith and Aiko heard the sound of what sounded like a jet passing over and looked up. "We've analyzed his logs sir, and there's something you may want to see," Cosmo said.

"Then let me see it," came the reply on the other end of the line.

"Yes sir. We're sending it immediately." He and Quint began to type to do so. But then there was a problem.

"What's going on?" the human with the android asked. Then they say the problem as it flashed on the screen.

"Connection error?!" Cosmo stated. "Shit! We've been detected!"

Just then the group felt the force of some bombs from a raid hit right close by. The place they were at shook and dust and small parts began to fall. "Hey, Quint!" Keith shouted.

"We've got to go!" Aiko stated.

"No, we've got this!" Cosmo replied.

"You wanna die with your machines you idiot?!" Keith yelled.

"Hold up!" Quint stated. "We've almost-"

The male android hit a key and they saw the information was being transferred. "LET'S MOVE!" he shouted. He and Aiko grabbed one human each and both quickly used a Creation and Manifest Ruin to create high fast jet packs on their backs. They blasted off and through some windows just in time as jets came in bombing the place.

At HQ O'Ryan saw the downloading process was on error. "Guys!" he stated into his communicator. There was no reply. The human threw his chair to the side in frustration with his back turned towards his screen.

"What a disaster…" Suddenly the downloading process picked up and was at a 100 percent. Then Cosmo came in.

"It's us!" the male android stated. "We're okay!" It was then decided that the two androids would end up joining their friends on the ship after dropping off Quint and Keith at a place that could take the humans back to HQ.

Meanwhile, Jill's group had managed to get into the VIP room. "So this was all Laymond's doing?" Jill asked.

"No, I've think we've only heard half the story," Chris replied.

"I agree," Nicholas said. "There's a lot about this mission that doesn't make sense yet."

It was then down the ladders with a pause to carry Kratos and Venus down. But at the bottom of the second one there was water. Luckily the dogs would be fine as Nicholas and Liru both had the Manifest and Creation ruins to create diving equipment for the canines like with Uma and Logan. Once the dogs were ready, everyone dove with their equipment on that was also summoned by the witch and wizard. The two werewolves stayed closed to Kratos and Venus as while the virus couldn't affect those from the nether, the canines could be. The pets though could dive down just fine. Right away there was an enemy and Nicholas took care of it with his katana. Then it was up to the next ladder. The water didn't got all the way up and the equipment disappeared. "Hurry," said Chris. "We can cut through the bilge to the get to the lab."

They made it to the area. "There's probably enemies down there; let's be careful," Logan commented. The breathing equipment came back out and the group dived again. Any monsters in the water were dealt with by the male werewolf, Uma and Logan. Jill then found a door where the Deltro Card Key was used to unlock it. The group swam through the doorway after it was unlocked. They followed the new path that led to a new area that eventually got to a door.

"We should use this," Liru stated pulling out a key with a trident at the end of it. "We found this on the other ship. If it's the same like this one, the lab should be up ahead."

This was used and then came a tiny hallway with a metal door at the end with a metal circle in the middle. This turned around before the new door opened. Beyond that was a section that had a light green color for the walls. A bit of walking found another door that wouldn't open but there was a long broken window that was hopped over into to get into the room. Here there were a bunch of huge drives of some kind for computers. In one corner of the room was a machine of some kind. When Jill checked it, a female automated voice came on. "Registering fingerprint," said the voice. The female human saw a screen to place her index finger on the machine and did so. There was a beep to show this had worked. "Fingerprint registration complete."

The group then went back through the broken window and to the double metal door found in the hallway here. Jill used her fingerprint to get it open. "That should do it," Nicholas said. "There's probably other areas that require fingerprints."

"I'll keep an eye out for them," Uma commented.

The next area appeared to be some kind of place to store clothes and other things as there were cubbies for this. The same automated voice came on again. "Please enter the sterilization room one at a time."

Before that happened, the group looked for items. Jill found another illegal custom parts kit and took that. Then she went first into the requested room. The floor was made of metal and there was a large window to her right. The door the female human entered closed and the automated voice came on. "Now sterilizing. Please wait."

The room got a blue glow and a sound was heard of the process happening. Chris by this point was on the other side of Jill. Just then they and the others with them heard a loud crash. "What the?!" the male human stated.

Then the sound of banging was heard. Kratos and Venus were growling now, and the werewolves were also on guard. Then a roar was heard and a very loud crash as something tore through the metal wall in the section Jill was at. "Oh shit!" Nicholas stated when they all saw it.

"What is that?!" Logan asked. Uma and Liru took a step back.

The enemy was slowly walking towards the female human. One of the arms ended with some kind of shield like structure. The right hand ended with some kind of lance like weapon with spines on it. The head was like that of a shark's mouth but where the eyes should have been was covered by a tough looking hide that went to the shoulders. These legs had it to with only the upper body having fleshy like texture. The overall appearance was like that of a knight. "Emergency!" went the automated voice. "Emergency!"

The creature swung its right arm at the female human who was able to dodge. "Jill, I'm coming for you!" Chris stated, now trying to get out of the room he was in.

"Count us in!" Nicholas commented.

"Help me get the door open!" Liru told her boyfriend and transformed into her yellow furry werewolf state to get a boost of strength. The male did as well.

Meanwhile Jill tossed one of the grenades she had at the enemy. It exploded, and the monster was left dazed. She used this opportunity to attack it. The creature was quick to recover. It was also sometimes hard to get a shot as the monster used the shield it had to shield itself from bullets. All the human could do was her best to dodge and attack. But then after what seemed like an eternity, the doors opened to allow the group into the next room. The monster followed Jill of course. "Take this!" Nicholas snarled and charged with his katana out. The blade managed to get a blow on the enemy.

Chris let loose with his gun as did Jill. But the thing still rose up. "Tough one," Liru growled and launched a kick at the enemy. Everyone heard something crack from the monster as she had broken something. Jill tossed another grenade and that made the enemy go down to the knees. Then another round of bullets was what finished it off.

It let out one more roar before melting away. "Let's hope there aren't anymore," Nicholas said. He and his girl then returned to their normal forms.

Now that the enemy was dead, the new room could be looked at a bit closer. There was a new gun that Jill picked up. Also there was a tank with the same type of fish that had been seen in that video. "I've seen these before," Uma said as both Kratos and Venus sniffed at the tank.

"Yeah, but luckily there doesn't seem to be the virus here to mutate them," Logan commented. There were only a few computers here and nothing else.

"Down we go," the female werewolf said seeing an elevator.

The group got in and rode it down to a lower level. The doors then opened after traveling for a bit, everyone stepped out and found themselves in a long hallway with a curved ceiling. It was kinda like being in a marine tube found at aquariums only there was no glass here. "Why try to hide these facilities on a cruise ship?" Jill asked as they began to walk down the hallway.

"It makes a good cover," Chris answered. "Who would ever suspect it?"

"Good point. I hope we can find out what the hell's going on."

There were fleshy mounds in here similar to what had been found on the beach from before and scanned. Then at last, the group reached a door that was circular. The two parts that made up it began to turn with the press of a button, showing it was opening up. "The virus is somewhere in this research area," Chris stated.

"So this is the secret of this ship," Nicholas said.

The two parts then stopped turning and metal bars that were part of the door retreated. It slowly opened. The room beyond was circular with a huge tank in the middle and metal walkways on the sides of the walls that led to it. The walkways had metal pillars on them that were placed like gates. Inside the tank was a red liquid, exactly like what had been found on the beach in the container. There were monitors on the tank to, and some kind of huge metal protrusions on the wall nearby the tank. And below all of this was water. By this point it was now 3:16 in the morning. "We need to stop the virus from getting out," Jill said after the group took in this sight for a few moments.

"I know," Chris replied. "The control system must be in the lab."

"Guess we find it the old fashion way by looking around," Nicholas commented.

The male human began to walk in one direction right between one of the gateways. Lasers instantly came out, blocking the path. "Should've know," the male werewolf stated with a growl.

"How do we get pass this?" Liru asked.

"Maybe that device we use for scanning can help."

Jill did that and could see the invisible lasers. She, Nicholas, Liru, and the dogs went forward beyond the first gateway which didn't have any. There was a panel with a button that was pressed that deactivated the lasers ahead but blocked the way back with more that came out. There were more on the side but the pathway was clear. There was also a door that couldn't be opened. The path was followed to another panel with a button. Pushing this caused all the lasers on the side the group was at to deactivate so Chris, Uma, and Logan could join them. Looking through that special device also showed the way the male human had tried was clear and there was a door. This was unlocked with Jill's fingerprint and they went through. The room here was small with a machine gun ammo case that the female human picked up. It was then through a small hallway to another room. There wasn't much in here but a handprint and some documents along with a journal. "More evidence for us," Nicholas said as he went to the journal first to read it.

"What's this one from?" Liru asked.

"It's from Deltro."

They began to read it. It was from one of Deltro's agents and a second one. It started by saying the mission they had been given was a success. The city they had attacked had become full-blown hell on Earth. Deltro had released the virus to rend the city with terror and violence. The DBC sent its soldiers but they were like lambs before the lions. Deltro had achieved its goal. The world would know that they didn't have to wait for hell; it was already here. This entry then ended with telling the world to open its eyes and to the truth and the name Bernard Dorti. The next entry then went on. It stated that this ship had been contaminated. The virus had turned his comrades into horrible monsters, and then these had turned everyone else into monsters. Bernard then asked why this was happening. Deltro had been going to bring hell to the masses, not hell brought to them. The same thing was happening at the sister ship. The virus had contaminated all the ships. It couldn't be a coincidence. Someone had been using Deltro all along. But it couldn't be any of the members and none of them would ever betray that organization. The only one who could was their mysterious financier. He's the only one was wasn't there. It then said the name Damion. The entry called for Damion and said they needed his guidance and to deliver the agents from evil. The rest of the page for this was missing though.

"Hmmm, so I guess that's the name of their leader," Logan said once they had finished reading this. The male werewolf took this like all important documents.

"There's something else on that table over there that I see," Uma said, noticing another file.

They wall went over to it. It was titled, Dalacoda Development Materials. "Oh boy…" Nicholas groaned.

"You haven't even read it," his girl told him.

"Yeah, but I've got a bad feeling about it."

They began to read this. According to the file, the development of this creature, codenamed Dalacoda happened by pure chance. Someone was infecting various species of fish with the D-Abyss virus as part of their research in into marine-based B.O.W.s. By chance one of the test subjects was contaminated with parasites. The parasite was Gyrodactylus status, a small monogenean ectoparasite. When the D-Abyss virus was used to infect a host, it not only affected the host, but the parasite as well. The unique mutations formed from the duel infections allowed whoever was doing this to improve their overall B.O.W. development. A larval Dalacoda was only about 1 cm in length. Because it was so small, it could be used as a parasite to infect the host by secreting a liquid that contained the virus. The parasites mutates inside the host could mature rapidly. Perhaps the synergistic effect of the D-Abyss and secretion caused an increase to the metabolism of the organism. The size in which the Dalacoda could develop was contingent upon the size of the host. While clinical tests had yet to be carried out, if a whale was used to be used as the host, there was no limit to the size Dalacoda could assume.

Nicholas took this after the group finished reading it. "I told you I had a bad feeling about it and I was right to do so," he said.

"I shudder to think we might encounter these," Liru whispered.

After taking this, the group left the room and found themselves right in front of the tank. The path ahead could allow them to get to it. "I think this is the lab's control system," said Chris.

"Does it work?" Jill asked.

The male human checked. "We need a passcode to activate the neutralizing agent."

"Ok, I'll sweep the lab, see what I can find."

"Any documents you find, bring them back to me," Nicholas told her.

"Good luck," Uma commented.

"I need some time to figure out these controls," Chris stated and went in front of the tank where a computer screen and keyboard were where he began to type.

Before Jill did that she took the time to upgrade her weapons with all the new parts she had found. She then spotted what appeared to be an elevator in here and went over to the silver colored doors. The human tried to get in but nothing happened. Chris was able to crack the code on it and it opened. Jill boarded and rode down. The doors opened and she found herself in a room with more pillars with lasers like before. There were also windows with some kind of liquid outside these. Using the same device to see them as before, the human made her way through to a switch on the wall nearby. Next to her there was a dead body as well. Jill pressed the button and this rearrange the lasers. Taking the new path, Jill made it near the door when suddenly something rammed into one of the windows here, cracking it. She saw a long shape of some kind before it swam away. "Careful!" Chris told her when the female reported back to him on this on their communicators. "Who knows what kind of B.O.W.s we're up against."

"Can you say what it was?" came Nicholas's voice then and Jill explained. "Shit… that might be a Dalacoda…"

"I'm thinking we might have faced against those before boarding the ship," went Liru's voice.

"I think you're right."

Jill then continued through the door. She saw the long thing swimming pass more windows and the sound of an enemy up ahead. The human got it with her sniper riffle. Another then appeared which was a second enemy with the lance and shield. Jill took care of this monster quickly. Then it was up a small ladder to reach another Illegal Custom parts which was grabbed before heading through the next door here. The small room that came next was a control room. There was a computer that could provide a needed passcode but an employee number was needed first. Another machine was here that could be used to inject a vaccine into her body. Looking around some more, Jill found another button that when pressed rearranged the lasers from before so now she could reach the dead body. Going back, the long thing in the red liquid cracked another of the windows before continuing to swim. She was soon in front of the dead body. "How's it going so far?" Nicholas then came in.

"I'm making progress," Jill replied. "There's a dead body here with a file."

"Read it and bring it back as soon as you can."

The female began to do so. It was titled Infection Log for Queen Lenobia. It was from a researcher by the name of Ryan and had an ID number. It started with a date and then went on to say after the final note was played for the Derragrigia Panic, he and others had seized the ship and began to carry out their mission quickly and secretly. The satellite system destroyed the city. Now the ship was the only place where the people on it could observe the spread and mutation of the D-Abyss Virus along with ancillary research. The ship was the perfect environment to conduct research, and the people here made the most of it. The only set back was the hosts infected by the virus. This made the research very difficult for those on board. The ship wouldn't last long as a place of research and science before the entire place was overwhelmed with creatures. The people on board had to act quickly. The next entry showed a year had passed. According to this one, the people's research on the virus had proceeded smoothly and even develop a proper vaccine. With all their goals achieved, there was no longer any need for this ship. It was decided to be abandoned. A few members of the team didn't survive long enough to see this moment, but it was the cost of this research. When they told Ransdale about their breakthrough with the vaccine, he showed uncharacteristic felicity. There was then something scribbled in an area where the pages were torn out. According to that, as soon as the research data was sent, the doors to the facility were shut, and the B.O.W.s awoke from their cryogenic sleep. The person who wrote this couldn't understand how he could have missed that seeing that Deltro wasn't the only disposable pawn in all of this. It was almost funny. The person could now see it was he who arranged for all of these things to come to pass. It was he who had given the terrorists the D-Abyss virus, which led to the panic. That gave the people on board a lot of valuable data on injection, which led to the eventual development of the vaccine. And thanks to his position of authority, he used the satellite system to eradicate the virus, the terrorists, and the all the fools in the city. Any traces or links to the people on the ship vanished with it. The end result however, was that the world was now afraid of the virus. And the DBC charter had been strengthened and expanded. The person writing this was awestruck with the degree of perfection which Ransdale had orchestrated these events. This one would be for the history books for certain. This ended with saying that hopefully the demand for this vaccine would bring the rest of those the accolades and riches they so justly deserved.

Next to the dead body was a test tube of green liquid that was the test vaccine. "Guys, you're not going to believe what I just learned," Jill communicated to the others after picking these two things up. "Morgan Ransdale of the DBC was behind the attacks on Terraria."

"So that's what Laymond was talking about," came the reply Chris.

"Seems like it."

"Who would have guessed," came Nicholas's voice. Jill then went back to where the passcode was needed.

"All I have is circumstantial evidence; nothing to nail him for it yet…" she said.

Jill made it to the second machine and inserted the proto type vaccination into her body. Then it was onto the computer and entering the employee id she had picked up. The screen showed the downloading process was happening. Just then the human felt two jarring smashing coming from the room with windows with the cracked ones. Looking back at the computer, she then saw the download was complete and picked up the code needed to neutralize the virus. Jill had no sooner done so when the door here was blasted away and red liquid seen before came flooding into the room, submerging it. It didn't do anything to the female, showing the vaccine was protecting her from the virus. Also Jill could hold her breath long enough to make it back and began to swim. "Jill!" came Chris's voice on the communicator which could work underwater. "Jill, come in! Do you read me?! Answer me damn it!"

"We have an emergency!" Nicholas's voice was then heard. "We need you back here immediately!"

"Yes, hurry!" went Liru's voice.

The female human managed to swim back to where the others were and surface with a loud gasp. There was a ladder to climb up to them. "Jill!" Chris stated. "Are you okay?!"

"Yeah, I'm fine," she replied. "I got the passcode."

"Let's not waste any time," Logan commented.

Jill went up to the keyboard and used the passcode. "Authorization confirmed," went an automated female voice. "Initiating virus neutralization program."

The screens above the keyboard changed and showed that the program was working. Meanwhile on the sides surrounding the tank gears began to turn and the strange metal like rods came out towards the tank with red liquid where the keyboard was. "So far so good," Nicholas said.

Just then all the screens changed to reveal Morgan at his desk at the DBC headquarters. "Well done, DSAA," he stated. "Your actions have been… eye opening."

"Morgan Ransdale…" Chris stated. Kratos and Venus both growled at the screen.

"I knew O'Ryan and his dog Laymond were sniffing around my business. I didn't account for your involvement however. That was my only mistake."

"So it was you!" Jill stated. "You attacked Derragrigia!"

"Guys!" Uma suddenly shouted. "Look out!" Monsters had suddenly come out of nowhere. They began to advance towards the group.

"It looks like my mistakes are about to be remedied," Morgan said. "You are stowaways on this ship. I hope you don't mind me watching you die."

The group fought off all of these enemies. Some of these were the ones with lances and shields but even these were no match and disposed of. Only when they were did the red liquid in the tank change from red to clear. "Virus neutralization complete," went the automated female voice.

"Ah, I should expected as much from some of those here who brought down Rindella," Morgan said. "However, your days of playing cops and robbers are over. I do hope you understand the gravity of my making a personal appearance. I have a great weakness. I am fearful of things, even little things, and must clean up every last imperfection. The DSAA, my dear director O'Ryan, your whole organization; you cause nothing but trouble. Surely you didn't expect me to let you sniff around unbridled? Don't kid yourself. Have a look." The screen showing him changed to show a real time image of a ship that was targeted. "Your destiny is in my hands."

"What the…" Chris said.

"It's the second ship!" Logan stated.

Meanwhile before this had happened, Parker's group had made it out of the casino. "So what's the plan?" Jessica asked.

"Get to the bridge, activate the bulwarks, and pray the ship stops sinking," Parker replied.

"Sounds simple enough," Pachira said.

"Now that the power's back, we should be able to access the maintenance system," Parker commented.

"Ok," Jessica replied. "We should split up then."

"Is that wise?" Pachira asked.

"There's something I need to check on first."

"Ok, fine," Parker said. The two vampires caught his tone like he was trying to not care but suspected something. "Me, Pachira, and Napoleon will see you on the bridge."

Parker led the way with his group. They then went through a door that would take them to the place where the coms officer on this ship had been fought. Just then O'Ryan contacted them. "O'Ryan here," went the male human. "Did Laymond tell you everything?"

"What?" Pachira asked in shock.

"Yeah, he told me boss and Napoleon heard some of it to," Parker replied. "I trust the male vampire as he's been quiet." The male vampire in the meantime shook his head at Pachira to not ask.

"Then you know what you have to do," the first human said. "O'Ryan out."

Just then Hunters began to show up and required the group to fight back. "Damn, these creatures always showing up at the worst time," Parker stated.

The group made it to the elevator that would take them to the bridge. "What did O'Ryan mean?" Pachira asked as they all got in.

"If what he said is true you'll find out," Napoleon replied. "Just in case it's nothing it's better not to ask."

Just then Jessica contacted the group. "Guys, where are you?" she asked.

"We're almost at the bridge," Parker told her through his communicator.

"I'm already here. I'm going to start lowering the bulwarks."

"That was fast," the male human commented to himself.

"You're just slow. And you owe me another dinner."

"That reminds me. During that panic when I made that promise of that drink, we never got around to it, did we?"

"That's fine. You can make it all up to me in one big spending spree."

"Ok, fine. Just sit tight and we'll be there soon."

The elevator made it and the group went through one more door to where Jessica was. The room was dark and she was typing something into a keyboard. "Hold it right there," Napoleon growled and cocked his gun at her along with Parker.

"Napoleon?" Pachira asked. "What are you doing?"

"Parker?" Jessica asked.

"A spy has infiltrated the DSAA," the male human stated. "Morgan's mole. And if may be you."

"That's what Laymond told us," Napoleon said.

"What?!" Pachira asked shocked.

"What are you talking about?" Jessica replied like this was a joke and began to reach for a big red button on the control panel. "We don't have time to-"

She was cut off and pulled her hand back as a gunshot was heard and a bullet hit the area where her hand had just been. "One of you, subdue that woman," went a familiar voice. It was Laymond and from his smoking gun showed he was the one that had fired.

"Laymond… how?" Parker asked in shock.

"But you…" Jessica said, also feeling the same and slowly turning around. "You were-" The said guy patted his chest with a smirk, to show the vest he had been wearing was bullet proof.

"She's trying to activate the ship's self-destruct mechanism," Laymond stated. "To destroy the evidence."

"What?!" Parker and Pachira asked in shock.

Jessica let out a laugh of amusement, acting innocent. "Guys, this is getting out of hand… Not funny!" she said. She looked to Parker. "Come on, say something. Parker, it's me."

The said guy looked to Laymond and Napoleon both who were glaring at the female human. He lowered his gun. "I can't trust you completely," the guy said to Laymond. "Not yet. Put your gun down Laymond."

Parker reached out and tried to do, but the other male human was able to reposition his gun. "Don't be fooled Parker!" Laymond stated before looking at the first human. "Don't be soft."

Napoleon and Pachira also took their eyes off Jessica which is all it took for her to reach for her gun and aim it at Laymond. "Wha-?" the female vampire asked as the sound of the gun cocking tore her, Napoleon, and Laymond's attention to the female human who smirked and fired at the second male human twice. One bullet got Parker but Napoleon moved and got the second one. Jessica let out a gasp of shock as she hadn't meant to hit Parker. His hit caused him to stagger to his knees along with Napoleon.

"Napoleon!" Pachira cried and managed to catch him since he staggered to the ground. Laymond did the same thing for Parker.

"Stupid men," Jessica said coldly and hit the big red button. A warning sound then came on along with red lights that usually went with it. The female human then shot at Pachira so the female vampire couldn't got after her as she began to leave. Napoleon's girl felt the hit and gasped with pain since even though the shot could be healed easily, this was a new feeling and the shot had gotten her in the leg.

"I knew O'Ryan had a lap dog," Jessica said as she turned her gun towards Laymond while leaving. "I'll tell Morgan it was you."

"JESSICA!" Parker yelled as he recovered enough to see her leaving.

"Don't worry about dinner. Now we're even. I'm sorry, Parker." The female human kissed the end of her gun lightly before running.

Napoleon by this point had healed from his wound. Pachira had to as he had taught her how to do so with regular bullets. "Go after her…" Parker grunted to the other three.

"But you-" began Laymond. The first human threw him off in frustration.

"Laymond! Go!"

"We can help him, just get that bitch," Napoleon told the second human who nodded and ran. The male vampire managed to pick up Parker and wrap an arm around him.

"Time to go," Pachira stated.

Meanwhile while all that was going on, the second ship had explosions going off, destroying her and causing the ship to sink into the sea. In the lab, the group there saw it on the screen thanks to Morgan. "Well!" he stated. "The proud Queen Demiramis; she chooses death rather than suffer indignity." It was now 3:50 in the morning. "As will this ship to…"

Just then the sound of the alarms was heard as Jessica had pushed the button. "Self-destruction sequence activated," went an automated female voice. "All personnel, evacuate immediately. This sequence cannot be aborted."

"You've gotta be kidding…" Liru stated.

"Checkmate," Morgan said. "It appears my bright young assistant has made the last move. Now… have I made things clear to you?"

"Clear as day," Chris replied. "Now we finally have a target. Star counting, Morgan."

The human on the screen let out a chuckle. "Not the most original last words, but, best of luck gentlemen." The screens he was on turned off.

The group in the lab now felt the explosions beginning to happen on the ship. One of the doors as well that had been locked unlocked itself. "Chris!" Jill said.

"Right!" he replied. "First we gotta get outtta here."

"No time like the present," Nicholas stated.

On the way out, Jill quickly grabbed an illegal custom parts kit. Just as the small group got to a hallway, someone contacted them on their communicators. "This is Hat Trick," went a male voice. "Kirk here, at your service."

"And don't forget me and Aiko," went Cosmo's voice. "We're on our way to you guys."

"We're on standby above the ship," the female android stated. "Rendezvous on the deck."

"There's not much time, so get moving," went Hat Trick.

"Which way to the foredeck?" Uma asked with a worried look.

"This way," Chris replied.

The group went forward to one of the past hallways where another blast was felt, causing them to stagger. "The explosions have started," Nicholas growled.

"Seems we're out of time," Logan groaned.

"Not yet!" Uma declared. "I'm not dying!"

Chris continued to lead the way. The group jumped down and landed in some water which meant the equipment for breathing was brought back out. There was a bit of falling objects but everyone was able to swim around it. Jill even found another illegal custom parts kit. Then it was up a ladder and out of the water. The group kept going and a couple of small explosions happened. These didn't slow them down as they reached the next section of water which was only upper leg high. But then at one point another explosion happened after navigating a path which caused some pipes to fall down and separate Jill, Uma, and Logan from Chris, Nicholas, Liru, and the dogs. "You guys okay?!" the wizard asked.

"Yeah, but we can't get through," the male human replied.

"Moving these might cause a bigger problem," the male werewolf stated.

"We'll find a way around and meet you there."

Jill, Uma, and Logan then went through a different door and up some stairs. Rounding a corner they saw Parker being supported by Napoleon and Pachira was with them. "Parker?!" the female human exclaimed.

"Thank god you're okay," the male vampire said, looking up.

"Oh hi… guys," the male human grunted.

"What happened?" Logan asked.

"Jessica… she shot him," Pachira replied. "She working for the enemy…"

"Jessica?!" Jill asked in shock.

"I don't believe it," Uma said as they all began to head to the next door they needed to go through.

"Well I hope she gets what's coming to her, that traitor," Logan commented.

The group kept going but then had to stop when an explosion caused some very hot steam to billow out and block the path. "We're not getting past that," Jill said.

"Agreed," Napoleon replied. There wasn't time with the ruins to create a new path. Enough had already been wasted.

"Shit," Parker stated. "Can't we turn it off or something?"

"Wait, I see a button to the side down there," Pachira said. She quickly went over and hit it which turned the steam off.

Before they could continue, some enemies began to show up. "Damn it!" Parker said. "Don't get cocky."

These things were quickly killed. Then it was through a door and they made it to the others. "What is this?!" Nicholas exclaimed, seeing Parker being helped.

"We'll explain latter," Jill replied. "Just back us up."

"Roger that," Chris replied and seeing some enemies come in shot them down.

"You, Liru, and me will take the lead," Nicholas said.

The group began to move forward again. "Laymond…" Parker gasped. "I'm sorry. I should've trusted you…"

"Don't beat yourself up," Napoleon told him. "We all were deceived by Jessica. This is all on her."

The group began to make their way forward. "Chris…" Jill whispered. "We may not…"

"I know," he replied. "But we're not leaving anyone behind."

"Well said," Nicholas told the said male human. "And don't talk like that Jill."

"I'm really slowing you guys down…" Parker said softly. "Damn…"

"You're not at all," Napoleon told him. He gathered his strength and placed the wounded human on his back.

"Now we can really move," Pachira said.

The group made it to some scaffolds. Just then they heard an automated female voice. "Beginning countdown for self-destruct sequence," it went.

"We're out of time…" Jill said.

"Time to move," Nicholas growled.

They made it to the next room and had to jump down to a lower level. And enemy with the lance and shield appeared. "Damn it!" Logan stated.

"Let's take care of this first!" Chris said.

"And fast!" Napoleon snarled.

Everyone fired at the monster and thanks to that it didn't take long to kill it. Up ahead some steam was coming out. This was turned off by using a big wheel. Then it was up a ladder and another of the same type of enemy appeared. "We don't have time for this shit!" Nicholas growled.

This one was quickly taken care of and then it was up another ladder. Going down the small hallway, the group found a small ledge to jump down to and get to another ladder. There were some custom parts here that Jill picked up. They all made it up just in time before they area they had been at exploded and went up in flames. "Almost there guys," Jill said.

"Let's gun it," Chris stated.

The group made it outside and they were contacted again. They could even see the helicopter flying by. "Kirk here," the human in the vehicle said. "Are you guys good?"

"We'll fly around to the foredeck," Cosmo told them. "Hurry!"

The group began to go forward but then the ship began to tilt up. Objects began to ran down towards them. They struggled up to the final door and made it. They saw Kirk, Cosmo, and Aiko's helicopter flying above and another waiting for them on a landing platform. "Hurry up you guys!" the pilot of the second vehicle told them.

They started to run towards it but then stopped as they heard an explosion. Some more went off and really tipped the ship down so that the platform couldn't be accessed anymore. Napoleon was able to defy gravity and hold onto Parker. Those that couldn't rolled down before coming to a stop. The helicopter on the landing platform began to take off when out of nowhere, a huge dark colored limb descended and crushed the vehicle and person inside. The group looked up in shock as they saw a gigantic monster head emerge with a growl. The mouth had sharp teeth and the limb turned out to be one of the same things that had been fought by Chris and his group before boarding this ship. But now there were more of them beginning to emerged from the host body. "Shit, it's Dalacoda," Nicholas growled.

"The pilot!" Liru stated.

"Worry about her latter!" Chris said. Everyone drew their guns. Napoleon did after setting Parker down carefully. Kratos and Venus were ordered by the two werewolves to stay by the injured human.

It was now 4:35 am and the remaining helicopter was flying above and could see the monster. "This is Hat Trick, do you read?" the human piloting this told the group. "Extraction is not possible at this time. I'll execute a holding pattern. Hat Trick out."

"Can't we do something?" Aiko asked Cosmo.

"I don't think so," the male android told her. "For one thing if we kill it, it might fall and crush our friends. And I can't fly down there due to that enemy. It's like the helicopter not being able to land. As for the ruins, there's a limit to what they can do. We can't just create something to move something that big. It's not possible. They'll just have to hold on for now."

Down on the ship, Nicholas explained the same problems about using the ruins to the others as well. Another problem was that creating something to take off wouldn't work as this enemy looked like it would swat them out of the sky the second they took off. The male wizard also mentioned after what they had been through, his energy along with Uma's for casting spells were down quite a lot. So he and Uma could only use the minor ones. "So we're stuck dealing with this," the male werewolf finished.

"What have they created?" Chris asked.

"We can do this," Jill said.

"Just like that Titan," Logan stated.

The enemy had blood dripping from the mouth like water. "Repeat!" went Hat Trick. "Unable to make an approach… can you deal with that thing?"

"Just land when you can and help out!" Nicholas replied in his communicator back. The group on the ship began to fire at the long limbs.

"Aim for the parasites!" Chris stated. "They're the targets!"

"You mean that big-ass thing is being controlled by a parasite?!" came Hat Trick's voice. "God damn!"

"Not again!" went Cosmo's groan.

"Like that village we went to…" Aiko whispered to her boyfriend.

The group fired at some of them and then all the parasite limbs retreated into the main body. "Damn, what can we do?!" Chris asked.

"Doesn't seem like our weapons right now are having effect!" Nicholas growled.

The limbs came back out. "Incoming!" Liru shouted as she saw one of them fire a round spiky purple object like a projectile.

The group avoided this and then from above some kind of box was dropped. "I've dropped off some ammio for you!" Trick Hat told them through his communicator.

Jill went over and broke it to reveal a rocket launcher. She took aim and fired at one of the tentacles. The shot hit the thing and clearly the blast was powerful enough to cause it to die and fall out of the main body. "That did the trick!" Chris said.

"Keep me covered!" Nicholas said. "I'm going to create more with my creation and manifestation ruins!"

Liru, Napoleon, and Pachira got near the male werewolf while he concentrated and soon brought out some rocket launchers like what had been dropped off by Trick Hat. They could only fire one shot to but the males each grabbed one and fired at the parasitic limbs. The group kept going until finally the main body of the monster let out a moan like a whale and went still. "Is it over?" Chris asked.

"Not sure," Logan replied.

"Incredible! All of you!" Cosmo stated to the group in his communicator.

"I'll drop down a ladder!" Hat Trick then told them. "Come on up!"

Napoleon grabbed Parker and placed the human on his back. The male vampire was up first with the guy and soon the two were on board. Nicholas and Liru took Kratos and Venus next and the rest from the nether followed behind. "There, you should be fine now," Pachira told Parker as she found some stuff to help him fight the pain from his bullet wound.

"Yeah," he grunted.

Jill was the next to come up. Chris followed her up and was halfway up when the group heard a noise of the creature stirring. They looked back and in shock saw the huge mound rise up. The mouth opened and from the openings on the body more parasitic limbs emerged. One grabbed the ladder Chris was on and almost knocked him off. The helicopter tried pulling away. "Chris!" Jill stated from the seating area of the vehicle as she had made it before this point.

The male human got steady again and managed to make it up. As soon as he was safely on board, he shot at the holder for the ladder. The thing broke and the ladder fell, freeing the helicopter from the monster. "Hold on!" Hat Trick said. "I'll get us out of here!"

"No, not yet," Chris said. "We can't let this thing roam free."

"Agreed," Jill commented. For the humans they brought out powerful machine guns similar to what Chris had when he was traveling to the ship on that vehicle.

"Anything we can do with the ruins?" Liru asked Nicholas.

"Make more," he replied. The males from the nether soon had created similar weapons and even places to shoot on the helicopter. Cosmo still couldn't fly in but now that his friends were safe, it was time to bring out his big guns. His arms transformed into similar weapons and took aim.

"Ready guys?" Jill asked the entire group.

"We can't hit it from here!" Chris told Hat Trick. "Get us closer!"

"I can't!" the second human replied. "Too many bogies."

"Trust me!"

"Okay, fine! Hold onto your seats!"

The helicopter flew in near the main body and the group let loose with the shoots. They had to be careful as the guns if fired too much would heat up and have to cool down. Luckily by working together it only took some shoots before a parasite limb would die and drop off the main body. Two quickly fell. "This isn't so bad," Logan said when those were gone.

"Yeah, but there's more," Nicholas growled. "Keep your guard up."

Some more began to pop out. "There they are," Napoleon stated with a grin and fired.

"That's it!" Hat Trick said after some more of the limbs were killed. "Take em out!"

The human then moved the helicopter to the main body's other side where more parasite limbs came out. By this point the sun was beginning to rise over the sea. The enemies kept coming even after one was shot down. "How many are there?!" Uma asked.

"They just don't let up!" Logan stated.

The grenades that these guns had were also starting to be used. But even so, there seemed to be no end to these limbs as for everyone that was killed, another took its place. Hat Trick then moved the helicopter. "We're going through!" he said. "Hold on!"

The vehicle went around the body until it was in front of the head. "Fire guys!" Chris stated.

The limbs kept coming even though the firing was continuing. "Are you serious?!" Nicholas growled. "Damn it!"

The limbs kept emerging until finally at last, no more of them came out of the main body. "Did we kill it?" Chris asked.

Suddenly the head of the monster began to shoot out red smoke of some kind like an underwater thermal vent. It reared its head up with a roar and more limbs erupted out of the mouth. "Hey guys, I got a present for you!" Hat Trick then said. "Take this!"

He handed over a special weapon to Jill that had a targeting system and a more powerful rocket but it only had one shot. It was obvious to the group that this was a trump card that had to be used at the very end which is why it hadn't been used before. "Thanks Kirk," the female human said. "You know how to treat a girl!"

"Aim for its mouth!" Chris said to her. Jill took aim and fired the shot right on target. It went into the enemy's mouth and it exploded, blowing a huge hole in the head, as bits and gore from the monster were sent flying. The thing let out a roar one last time and then bent over, dead.

It was now 5:02 am by the time this monster was dead. "And that's all she wrote for this ship," Nicholas said. The things materialized for this fight disappeared as they were no longer needed.

Just then someone contacted the group. "It's me," went O'Ryan. "What's happening?"

"On our way out…" Jill replied.

"Jessica took the whole ship down." Chris said. "The DBC… well, Morgan, he was one step ahead of us the whole way."

"Yes, I see…" came O'Ryan's reply. "I hate to think this all could be a mistake… my mistake."

"Come clean with us O'Ryan," Nicholas said. "Don't leave anything out…"

"Alright. It all started one year ago… Right there in Derragrigia…"

The whole group, even Parker listened in silence to the explanation. "Laymond realized that Morgan was not who he seemed," O'Ryan then said after explaining what happened during the panic. "So, we set this trap together. The whole Deltro revival act."

"The mountain hideout, and the coordination of the ships," Chris said. "All to put heat on Morgan…"

"But sir, couldn't you have at least told us?" Nicholas asked.

"I couldn't risk it. Not with a mole inside the DSAA. My apologies."

"All that work…" Jill commented.

"Yeah, and both ships gone," Liru concluded.

"Yeah, I know," O'Ryan replied. "But I haven't given up yet. Keith, Quint, Cosmo, and Akio, they've left us with an ace in the hole… The data analysis they sent us? The results are in."

"Well, what were they?" the male android asked.

"We assumed Deltro made use of two sister ships in the Terraria Panic. But there was a third."

"The final queen…" Jill said.

By now it was 5:35 in the morning. "Yes, Queen Lido…" O'Ryan stated. "She's been resting on the ocean floor since that day."

"Which means we'll find her…" began Chris.

"At Derragrigia," Nicholas concluded.

"Exactly," O'Ryan commented. "We have a responsibility to see this mission through. O'Ryan out." The call was then ended and the helicopter the group was on continued to fly towards the final ship.

Back at the DSAA headquarters, the same human leaned back in his chair with a sigh. He then reached for the drawer on his desk and pulled it out, revealing the vial found on the beach earlier. Just then a warning alarm was sounded as members of the DBC stormed the place. "DBC!" one of them stated to those in monitor room where Quint, Keith, Aiko, and Cosmo had started out at. "Everybody freeze!"

Guns were pointed at the DSAA members. "All of you, put your hands in the air—slowly!" went another DBC member.

O'Ryan saw this from his office window. Just then a familiar face walked in. "Morgan Ransdale," the first human said.

"We're taking this show over," the second human stated. "The DSAA is hereby under the direct supervision of the DBC." Two more members of that organization came in. "Clive R. O'Ryan. You are under arrest for collaborating with the terrorist organization Deltro."

The two DBC members went over and handcuffed the said guy. "Jill, Chris, you guys…" the first human whispered. "You're are only hope."

Meanwhile the helicopter carrying the group had made it and they could see the ruins where Derragrigia had once stood. "There it is," said Jill as she looked out. The others with her but Parker joined here. The wounded human would be dropped off after the rest of the group went off.

"The remains of Derragrigia," Chris commented.

"And the Queen Lido," Nicholas concluded.

Everyone prepared with diving equipment. For Kratos and Venus, those from the Nether used the ruins to create the stuff the canines would need to breath underwater. "Approaching the drop-off point," Hat Trick said.

"Give them hell," Parker told the ones going.

They were soon in the water with Chris and Jill leading the way. It wasn't long before they found the remains of the ship with her name printed on the side. The water life here had claimed its hold on the ship, but not fully so it was say to tell the parts of the ship. "It's definitely the third queen," Napoleon said. The diving equipment allowed the group to communicate underwater.

Jill found a door that she opened and the group swam inside. It was somewhat murky due to light not being allowed in as much but there was enough due to how the ship wasn't that deep underwater. The first room was small with another door ahead. The female human used a special tool that helped open it. It was then down a hallway. "It's rather quiet," Jill said. "Like time itself has stopped."

The group rounded the corner and stopped when they saw what lay ahead. "The blobs we found on the beach…?!" Napoleon asked, shocked.

"They came from here!" Pachira commented.

"That explains why Morgan cordoned off the area," Logan said.

The group then went through another door. Here some illegal customs parts were found. Then it was back out to the room from before and through another door. In the hallway another blob was found with a dead body attached to it. Some of the females from the nether gasped in shock at it. Looking showed the upper half was normal. "At least this one died a human, more or less," Nicholas commented.

"I wonder if those corpses on the beach were Deltro," Jill said.

The group then swam ahead and in the hallway ahead they saw one of the blob like enemies swim and devour a dead body. "Something's still alive!" Liru stated with fear.

"Careful!" Nicholas growled. "Underwater, we'll have a hard time fighting them off!"

In another room a rifle ammo case was found. Then it was through another door. After a bit more swimming, the group came across a door with bars. They could see a ladder up ahead thanks to a window in the same room. "It's an electric lock," Jill said. "I hope the emergency power still works."

"The wires are all pulled apart," Chris added.

"Me and him will fix that," Cosmo commented.

"Pachira and I will go with Jill to be safe," Napoleon stated.

"Okay, we'll see if we can get the power going," the female human said.

The group of three went through another door. They then had to swim through the maze of the ship, even avoiding one of the blob like enemies. Eventually they found what they were looking for. Jill pressed a button and a green light came on. "There we go," Pachira said.

"Guys, the door's open," Chris contacted them.

"Ok, we're on our way back," Jill replied.

The group of three made it to the others. "Okay, let's move in," the male human said.

The group swam up and emerged underneath a hatch with a wheel. There was enough space where there wasn't water so Cosmo could turn the wheel and get the hatch open. The male android slowly pushed it open. Looking showed there was a room above. The group got out and placed their diving equipment to the side. They were on guard. "There's still air," Jill pointed out.

"It's very quiet here to," Nicholas said.

Everyone slowly went forward with Kratos and Venus sniffing the air. "Who's that?" Jill suddenly asked, making some in the group to jump.

The female human had gone ahead to the next room and the rest ran in to find her standing over a dead body. They relaxed. "Way to scare us," Logan stated with a frown.

"He hasn't been dead for long," the female human said.

They looked and saw the body was wearing a helmet and saw the arm band they had on. "He's DBC," Chris stated.

Liru noticed something. "There's something in his hand," she said and took it.

"It's a voice recorder," Cosmo said. "Might say what happened here."

They all took a listen. "This is agent Dario Darioni of the DBC armed forces. The time is 19:48. I request that this recorder be handed over to General Ransdale if found by the next team. Everyone on my team is dead, killed by the devil himself. We were unable to retrieve the video log. Our mission had failed. Deltro… They weren't sitting around waiting for death to come to them. When the DBC arrived, they were waiting for us. Even though Derragrigia was a year ago. Thoughts of revenge kept them alive…" The sound became more distorted as the recording ended and the guy's voice broke up. Then there was static heard and it ended.

"Keep your guard up," Nicholas growled. "Who knows what else is on this ship."

"Probably something even more deadly than those blobs," Logan said.

The group then went through a door and found a dimly lit hallway, just with enough light to see. They noticed red liquid on the floor, almost looking like water with blood. Upon reaching a certain point, they heard the sound of creaking. But upon getting to another room, this time there was the slight sound of a crash and the creaking was louder. "There's something alive down in there," Napoleon said.

"I've got a bad feeling about this," Cosmo commented.

They then made it to a dining room. "Oh my god…" Jill said. This was due to what was on the table; horrible mutated bits and pieces of bodies. There were even blood marks and stains on the walls.

Just then the door ahead opened on its own. The females from the nether shrank back behind their boyfriends. "It's like the ghosts of the past haunt this ship," Napoleon said.

The group stepped into the next room. They saw the Deltro symbol on a banner. Suddenly everyone heard the sound of a tape being inserted somewhere and the brightness of a screen turning on. Some shielded their eyes from this as it was quite bright. "Ugh!" Liru grunted.

The picture on the screen went from static to an actual image. "What is this?" Logan asked as everyone in the group turned to look at it.

The video then showed the same bald person seen before after Chris and his group had left the airport. He was breathing hard. "The Queen Lido is already deep below the sea," the human stated. "There's no escape, no chance of survival. Unless…" The guy pulled a vial of the virus, the same type of container that was found on the beach and held it up to the camera. With a grunt he placed it into some kind of injector. The guy took some steps back towards a chair, turned back around, and injected the virus into his body. He tossed the injector to the side and slumped into the chair.

"Ah, Deltro. In honor of thy name, we accept our wrongdoing, and transmute our flesh in remembrance of our sins." The human let out some coughs before pointing at the camera. "But for you, Morgan, never shall there be rise. We rise from the dead, our spirit a callous and immutable force." He let out some more cough, doubling over and clutching his stomach. He then brought out a recorder of some kind and stumbled towards the camera with it held out, up close and personal. "All of our interactions are right in here. We shall become guardians of the truth, for as many years as it may take." His face began to twist and his voice turned to a growl before the screen went back to static.

"Looks like we found the head of Deltro," Nicholas said.

"And he has the video we can use to nail Ransdale," Chris stated.

"Looks like we're heading to the grand final guys," Napoleon commented.

"Again," Logan said with a grind. Jill then found a place to use the last of the weapon cases found to upgrade her weapons one last time.

It was then through a door. The group heard a voice and realized it was the guy from the video. "Vengeance of God, O how much oughtest thou. By each one to be dreaded, who doth read. That which was manifest unto mine eyes!" There were a few dead bodies along the way. Another door was reached and they heard the human again. "Papé Satàn, papé Satàn aleppe."

The group opened it and found themselves in a somewhat large room. The lighting was dim and there was a kind of mist low to the floor. The place was a wreck, from the chandelier above that was half off its holder, to the furniture strewn about. The human speaking was sitting on a chair that was placed above some steps like a thrown. There were two large candle stands that had three candles each that were burning with the Deltro banner behind him. The guy let out a some painful groans. Kratos and Venus growled. "Easy," Nicholas told them and the dogs were quiet but on alert.

"Morgan!" the human sitting in his chair stated, standing up and pointing ahead as though he could see the said human. "Morgan Ransdale, how dare you cross Deltro…!" The guy let out more groans, clutching his head. He slumped back down in his chair and was able to recover. "Morgan, this is what you seek, is it not?" The human held up a video recorder after taking it out of a pocket. He let out a wheezy cackle. "Indeed, this little machine contains the truth, all the truth needed to bring down your entire charade…" He was cut off with a gasp and then more groans while clutching his head, dropping the device.

Jill quickly grabbed the device. "This is it," she stated. "We got the evidence."

Suddenly the guy who dropped the device let out louder groans. "We have to go," Chris said urgently.

"Yeah, I don't think we want to wait around for this," Nicholas agreed.

The group quickly made their way to the door. "Stop," the second male human said, causing them to pause and turn to face him. In his left hand he held a vial, exactly as the same kind that had been found on the beach. "Morgan, behold the terror which you have unleashed!"

With his teeth, he got the top off. Everyone took a step back and frozen as the male drank the virus. From inside his body the sound of something stirring was heard as the person went on all fours, body twitching. With groans that became distorted, the guy began to grow, mutating into some kind of abomination. The skin became some kind of dull red and pink combination. One hand mutated into a clawed finned like structure. Spines with aquatic features erupted out of the back. The muscle tone of the former human's body grew. The heart could be seen beating on the chest. "Morgan!" the mutated enemy stated with a distorted groan.

"Damion stop! Morgan isn't here!" Chris stated.

"It's no good; he's gone over the edge!" Jill said, gun drawn. The others got their weapons out as well. It was now 6:40 am in the morning when this happened.

The monster's head split open to reveal some kind of white orb. It glowed and the being disappeared with a flash. The enemy then reappeared right next to Jill, the arm with claws coming down to attack. The female human managed to barely roll out of the way, dropping the evidence. She looked up and saw the being withdraw his hand, leaving deep puncture in the wall where she had just been. The mutated human turned to face her. "What the-?!" she asked.

"This guy's fast!" Nicholas growled.

"We need to lose him!" Chris stated as the human began to fire. The bullets made contact but didn't seem to do any damage.

The enemy did the same thing with disappearing but this time went after Nicholas. The male werewolf was able to dodge the blow and noticed something. "His heart!" the guy stated.

"What?!" Liru replied.

"Every time he does that, the place where his heart is opens! That's how we can beat him!"

The enemy did it again and Jill was able to hit the weak spot. The monster staggered but then the weakness was closed. "I don't think he's in a mood to say goodbye," she said.

"But we're not here to babysit, either," Chris commented.

"At least he can't get us by walking," Logan stated.

The enemy did the same teleportation thing. This time Nicholas moved in, sinking his katana into the heart deep with a snarl. The mutated human shook the male werewolf and sword off. The monster then leaned back and let out a roar. The next time the enemy moved, a clone of himself was created. But the real body was the only one that had the heart revealed and the other copy was more like an after image. This didn't faze the group at all. "This old guy's got a trick still!" Logan stated.

The mutated enemy kept attacking. "Shit, how much more can this guy take?!" Napoleon snarled.

But then finally after what seemed to be forever, the enemy took one final round of hits and then let out a distorted roar of defeat. "I think that's done it," Liru whispered, seeing this.

The mutated human staggered towards the chair he had once sat on and fell to his knees. He slowly reached out towards the banner. "…done…" he stated. "Everything, finished… finally… I can die… I… can die…"

His hand came down and knocked the chair over which sent one of the candle stands back towards the Deltro banner. The thing caught on fire as the monster died. "This is how Morgan treats his friends," Chris stated with anger.

Jill picked up the device that had fallen. "I hope he finds more comfort in death than he did in life," she said. The human prepared the device to play at HQ and hit the play button so everyone could see what was on there.

The video began and it showed the leader of Deltro in a room. He was looking at a clipboard while sitting down at a table. "The means of dispersion?" he asked.

Morgan came into view and spoke. "The cruise ship is equipped with a UAV. That is your delivery system." The second human sat down across from the first.

"Very well. Now show me the goods."

Morgan reached to the side and pulled out a case. He opened it and turned it around so the first human could see the vials of the virus. There were six inside. "Bona fide D-Abyss," the second guy said. "No vaccine, not yet."

"Yes, of course…" The first human picked one of the containers up to examine it closely. "A little bit of this could turn a city inside-out."

"I think we're done," Morgan said. "I'll be on my way." The guy got up from his seat, dusting off his palms before turning to leave.

"Who would have thought, yes?" the human who was still holding the vial asked. "That the lowly terrorists would receive a helping hand… from the venerable commissioner of the DBC."

The recording ended there. Those on the ship began to make their way out. But at HQ where the DBC people had taken over, everyone had seen the whole thing. Those with Morgan slowly looked at each other in shock. Those they were holding at gun point were also in shock as well by this news. "As you can see, it's not likely you'll be wriggling out of this one," O'Ryan stated to Morgan in his office.

"I seem to have underestimated the DSAA," the older human said. "Perhaps you, as well."

O'Ryan brought out the vial found from before. "We found this in the off-limits area near Durargid," he said. "We're done analyzing it, so you can have it back."

"Director O'Ryan, surely you understand our dilemma? Without the Derragrigia Panic, the ignorant masses would be unware of the threat that lies before them."

"Yes. You may in fact be correct."

"No one has the right to detain me," Morgan stated. "The world required my guidance. It was all for the greater good."

"You're only fooling yourself," O'Ryan shot back. "You said yourself, 'Abandon all hope ye who enter here.' But I'm not Dante. And you're not Vergilius." There was a pause. "Morgan Ransdale. You are hereby relieved of your position as DBC Commissioner. And, I'm placing you under arrest on suspicion of conspiring with Deltro in the planning and execution of the Defragged Panic."

The two who had come in with Morgan knew what to do. One opened the door and the other began to lead him out. "With all due respect, Director O'Ryan," the older human said before fully going. "The DSAA is making a huge mistake."

He was then taken away. "Where have I heard that one before?" the human asked, a bit mocking as he had heard Morgan say that before.

By the time the group got out of the ship, the sun was up and the sea gulls were calling. The sky was blue and the sea blue. "We can finally reveal what happened at Derragrigia," Chris said. Everyone was back on the helicopter.

"Yeah, but the cost was high," Jill commented.

"The DSAA will have to be overhauled."

"The storm is gone now," Nicholas said, looking over the sea. "But how long will it last?"

While they didn't know, things got busy. After Morgan's arrest, the DBC was dissolved, with the majority of its agents and resources transferred to the DSAA. The DSAA would be reformed into an anti-bioterrorism organization under the auspices of the United Nations. Keith would become a leading figure of the DSAA's East African Branch due to his accomplishments at that airport. Quint on the other hand, refused promotion to any leadership position and does so to this day. But he still works at the DSAA's main HQ in the R&D department. Parker had to go through physical therapy after being shot. After a month of this and medical treatment, he returned to his main position at the main DSAA HQ. O'Ryan decided to take responsibility for his actions and step down as head of the DSAA. He became an advisor to the DSAA and also began to write a detective novel from the comforts of his own home. And as for Chris, Jill, and the others, they had no idea of the horrific fate that awaited them, including another surprise that would be coming up quickly. The documents they had obtained were copied and given to the right people.

However there were two more people that had to be touched upon; Laymond and Jessica. The female human was at a European Café some time later after this incident and flipping through a small book, dressed quiet lady like. Someone walked up to her table, placing a vial of the virus that had been the cause of this trouble on it. "Almost too easy, wasn't it?" she asked them. It was Laymond in shades and overcoat. "The company let them take Morgan out with the trash."

"Tough world," he replied.

"You file a report to them on this. "I'm sure Alexis will be interested to hear about it." Laymond turned to leave. "By the way… It seems they were right about those from the nether. They could be trouble."

The male human turned to look at the female and moved his shades down so she could see his eyes. "Especially that vampire Napoleon," Laymond commented. "The Major's video feed of him fighting wasn't a joke. He's a worthy opponent."

"Well this should help them out."

"Indeed," he agreed and left with a final word. "The fun's just getting started." Worse things were coming for the group and those at the DSAA thanks to these humans who were working for Millennium Virus. But for now all was calm.
