Chapter 34: New Arrivals

Author's notes: After that last long chapter I figured a shorter, happier one would be nice to do.

For those from the nether, it felt great to be back home. Since they didn't know when they'd be called to action again, they made the most of their time now. "It feels so great to be back!" Liru stated to her boyfriend with a smile. Kratos and Venus were with them as usual.

"Yeah, that really got quiet tough at points," the male werewolf commented. "At least it only took one night."

"So what shall we do in the meantime?" the female asked.

"Just rest up."

He wasn't the only one as Pachira and Napoleon were also thinking that. By this point, the female vampire had not only lost her virginity to him, she was used to having sex with her boyfriend. She didn't get pregnant as the male vampire had introduced her to the pill to protect herself from that. Pachira was now knowledgeable of what to wear that was sexy, what part to shave, and what her guy liked. This would help with the other three females from the nether later on. As for Uma and Logan, he suggested to take their relationship to the next level by sharing the same room. The witch loved the idea and agreed, but like Liru and Nicholas, those two didn't engage in sex yet. As for Kratos and Venus, the male and female canines seemed to be even closer than before. "It's so cute to see them snuggled up like a couple," the female werewolf to her boyfriend, seeing them with his head right next to hers.

"It is," he agreed, seeing that. However, this was due to something happening for Venus.

Not long after coming back, the female canine began to act differently than usual. Like she was nervous and agitated. Also Venus would grab a blanket, arranging it like a nest. Kratos was also like he was encouraging her behavior as well. But then within a few days, there was a distinct smell coming from her that Nicholas and Liru were able to smell due to being werewolves. Venus had gone into heat. The second she was the long-haired male put her in a separate room from Kratos just in case and in order to talk about this with his girl. "So it's finally happened," he said. "She's fertile now for having puppies."

"Really?!" Liru stated getting excited, her tail wagging back and forth. Her hands went up to her face, being all cute. "Ooooh I can't wait to see them!"

"Now hold on babe," Nicholas commented with a chuckle. "Let's not jump the gun here. Remember how I said Venus and Kratos could have only one litter?"

"Yeah."

"So that means after they are born and Venus has recovered, I'm having them both fixed. Is that fine with you?"

"I mean… it's sad it won't happen again…" Liru got a look to match the feeling but then brightened up. "But I hope they have a good number!"

"Alright then, then we should reunite them," Nicholas said, standing up.

Kratos and Venus were soon back together in a private room. Meanwhile the male werewolf with his girlfriend Liru helped set up a room for her and the puppies that would soon be coming. "I hope it happens!" she squealed, her hands up to her face all adorable.

"Only time will tell," he said as they then moved a blanket into position. "If it doesn't work, there will be other times."

But soon it became quite obvious as 30 days after the process began, Venus's teats began to change color. And taking her to the local vet showed that she was pregnant. It was hard to tell who was happier, her or Liru. Kratos seemed to almost seemed to feel the same as he stuck by her side, giving her affection. Nicholas made sure to follow the vet's directions as he trusted this guy with the two dogs and talked about having the soon-to-be parents fixed after the puppies were born. Liru was keen to help in any way she could as well. The other residents of the house were surprised by this but the females then felt the same way as their female friend. The males just shrugged, and watched to see what would happen. "They are going to be so cute!" the female werewolf stated to her boyfriend happily, her tail wagging.

"When will they come?" Pachira asked and the females from the nether were told about how long it would take.

"It's different than say a human one," Nicholas said. "But like with human mother they will know when the hour is here, that special day when they come."

"Or the waiting game," Logan added with a grin.

Nicholas made sure to keep a close eye on Venus which surprisingly Kratos was doing to. But there was nothing to worry about. Despite the first time mom, she was doing great. The vet visits confirmed this and she checked out every single time. Then during the final two weeks was the most nervous time, even if it was only a little. The group knew, thanks to a vet check, there would be six puppies. "It's a good number and about right for most dog breeds," the male werewolf explained to the females from the nether. "Good news is that the puppies seem to be just the right size and should be able to be birthed normally."

Then at last the day came. Venus was in the room set up for her on the soft blanket. Her labor had already begun and the male werewolf was ready to help with the necessary tools just in case. Liru was with him while Kratos and the others waited outside. "Just keep her comforted," the male told his girlfriend. "A few pats should do it."

"You're going to be okay," the female cooed to the female dog and the two made eye contact. Like Venus was saying to Liru she would be.

And then it began, the birthing process. The first to emerge was a male pup. Since Venus and Kratos were the same breed of dog and fur color it was hard to say what this little one got the most of. Nicholas began to help his mother by cleaning him off and rubbing him to get his tiny lungs going. The little one began to let out the puppy noises new born ones do. "One down, five to go," the male werewolf said after snipping on a small band to help recognize this little one after being weighed.

Nicholas in gentle hands held the pup to Venus who began licking him with love and affection. The guy wrote down the number of the weight in a notebook. "Oooooh he's so little and cute!" the female werewolf cooed. She saw the pup begin to crawl to find a teat to suckle on.

"Now we wait for the others…" said her boyfriend.

One by one, the rest of the puppies came out and Nicholas got them breathing, cleaned them off, had them weighed, and collard. They each found a teat and began to feed. At last they were all here and Venus looked tired, but very happy. "You did good," the male werewolf said softly to her, giving her head a gentle pat.

"Ooooh, I'm so happy…" Liru whispered, looking to the little ones.

"Well, you stay here, I'm going to let the others known and have them visit a couple at a time."

Kratos was in first who Venus was happy to see. She wagged her tail weakly, turning her head a little to the suckling puppies, as though she was telling her mate their children were here. The father of them licked her muzzle before settling down next to her bed, his head by hers. Then in came Pachira and Napoleon. "Ooooh, look at them!" the female vampire cooed to her boyfriend.

"It's hard to believe such small things will grow quickly," he said softly.

"You don't have to whisper like that."

"It's so I don't disturb the new mother and father. The puppies can't hear me since their ears are closed but it's because she's given birth and to have the main sound be of her little ones feeding."

The vampires then left allowing Uma and Logan to come in. "Awwwww…" she whispered.

"It's one of the greatest things you can see in your life," the wizard said to her softly while having an arm around her. Aiko had similar comments as well while Cosmo just smiled at the new puppies.

The puppies grew fast and it was amazing as they met the milestones. From opening their eyes, ears, learning to walk, and progressing from nursing to solid food and to becoming bundles of energy. Liru didn't miss a single thing as Nicholas did tell her they'd be growing fast. "Also we'll need to think about giving them good homes," he said as well. "They're too young to fight like their parents."

His girlfriend was saddened by this but knew it was for the best. "I understand…" Liru whispered.

Nicholas smile at her and touched her shoulder. "Just remember, we have photos and footage of them growing," he said. She looked up at him. "They'll never be truly gone."

Liru had the honor of naming the first born puppy and the rest of the females were able to name the rest. What made them and especially the female werewolf happy was that at least when the day came, the puppies all found good homes. The females knew they would be well taken care of. "Now we'll need to take care of their mother and father," Nicholas told his girl.

The process of spaying and neutering them went smoothly and the male werewolf didn't treat Kratos and Venus differently. They also didn't act different around the other, still acting like mates even if they couldn't have any more children. Their bond was that deep. It wasn't a bit later until their stiches had been removed that found Liru on her and Nicholas's bed, just looking through the photos and videos taken of this who process. The door opened and she looked up to see her boyfriend standing there. "You okay babe?" he asked. Long before this point, the two had begun to call the other little pet names like that.

"Just looking back," she replied and put the stuff away,

Nicholas joined her on the bed and wrapped his arm around her. The female werewolf snuggled up to her boyfriend, kissing him on the cheek. "Well, I hope you're happy that Kratos and Venus had the chance to be parents even if it was only for one time," the male said to his girl.

"I'm happy you allowed it…"

"Well, at least it wasn't as hard unlike what we've been through so far."

She nodded with a grin. "And it was a good change of pace," Liru added. "I think whenever we're called in next, this little vacation will have done us some good."

"You said it."

That night when they both got in their bed, she was happy as could be. "Love you," Nicholas told her after they kissed.

She giggled after her rubbed his nose against hers. "Ooooh… I love you to," Liru cooed. The couple settled into their bed like usual. But this resting time couldn't last forever. For soon, they'd be back in action with one of their human friends. This time in a much different place and for much longer than the last mission. And this time, the enemies encountered would be the result of something even more truly horrific than what had been fought against.
