Sophia's POV
I honestly couldn't help love where my life has gone, I'd never actually imagined ever being happy but in the last seven months I've never felt happier than I ever had in my entire life and Demetri was a humongous part of that as well as finally feeling like I belonged in this world, who knew I would feel this great.
"There you two are, I've been looking for you" I smiled looking up watching Demetri walking towards me, I decided it was a nice day out on the Cullen's back lawn and had snuck away with my baby to enjoy it the warm weather.
"Wouldn't be hard for you to find us since you can track your daughter" I smirked as he sat down on the picnic blanket beside me where I've been for the last hour with our daughter, he'd happily discovered that he was able to track his daughter after my training session earlier this morning when we'd had to look for where Rosalie had stolen her away too and he was damn near ecstatic about it after all the fuss of not being able to track me the entire time we've known each other.
"Hey I'm not complaining" he smirked back and I rolled my eyes.
"I feel sorry for Thea in 7 years" I smiled although it was a tiny bit reserved since I still wasn't totally okay that my baby would be a young adult by the time she's seven years.
"No way in hell is she even thinking about boys, I don't care if she looks like an adult at 7 years old, she'll be ninety by the time I even think about allowing her near any boys" Demetri argued and I laughed watching as Thea crawled towards him and into his lap and his attention was immediately fixated on her. "Hi Koritsáki" I raised an eye since I had no idea what that meant, he's started calling her that and I knew it was Greek.
(Translation: Baby girl)
"I'm starting to think I needed to learn Greek" I sighed and he smiled over at me holding onto Thea's hands as she shakily stood on her feet in his lap, she was growing up way too fast.
"I'll teach you girls eventually"
"Maybe I'll learn a lot quicker than I did trying to learn Italian which I'm still not fluent in" I smiled watching as he smiled and focused his attention on our daughter who was bouncing and giggling in his lap, it was both heartwarming and bittersweet since she was looking like she was six months old already. "Carlisle told me he can't get any more blood for me" I sighed figuring to change the subject before I sank into despair over our daughters accelerated growth knowing it was a hole I didn't want to fall down.
"Felix and I were going out hunting tonight, you can join us" he replied looking over at me which made my frown increase as I thought about killing someone, I hated the idea but I was a vampire now and I had to accept that it was what I needed to survive, blood was my sustenance now and I had to hunt.
"I don't know if I can handle killing someone" I looked down avoiding his eyes but he didn't let me do that and I felt his hand underneath my chin lifting my eyes to look at him.
"We'll get through it, trust me" I nodded my head before leaning forward and kissed him before our daughter let out a loud guggle making us laugh and look back at her with wide smiles as we just sat and enjoyed the quiet little moment with her since these times would be all too rare in only a few short weeks.
Around noon Edward informed us that the Denali coven was close so we all stood outside waiting for them with Rosalie once again being the only one absent as she was never hesitant to watch Thea for us which I didn't complain about as I felt bad for her never having the chance to have her own since she was naturally maternal so I was letting her soak up all the baby time she wanted as much as I was knowing that Thea would grow up fast and the fact that it was only a matter of time before Aro needed Demetri and Felix back in Volterra which meant we'd have to leave too.
I was nervously clinging onto Demetri nearly crushing his hand with the thought of meeting these other vampires since the Cullen's and the Volturi have been the only vampires I'd ever met aside from the ones that had attended our wedding in Volterra but these guys were vegetarians and I knew they held no regard for the Volturi which I have willingly sided with even before my becoming a vampire myself and with the war in which I knew they'd stood with the Cullen's in still very fresh I was nervous of their reaction to me and that of Demetri and Felix being here.
"Sophia, let up on the grip a little" Demetri warned me and I snapped my eyes up to him seeing him looking down at where my hand was entwined with his and saw the small cracks that I'd caused on his skin from the tight grip I had.
"Sorry" I apologized immediately and let up almost the whole way so he was the one mainly holding my hand noticing the others had all looked over to our interaction before we all looked up hearing something approaching, five sets of footsteps moving fast through the forest before they had jumped and landed on our side of the river and I was met with four sets of golden eyes and a pair of red.
"Tanya" Carlisle smiled being the first to approach them respectively as leader of the Cullen's and judging that he approached the curly headed blonde I gathered she was the head of the Denali coven.
"Carlisle, it's a pleasure to see you again as always" Tanya smiled and they hugged briefly, I'd heard that they regard each other as cousins in a way due to their diet but to see it was a complete different thing to witness especially once all the Cullen's joined in welcoming them while Demetri, Felix and I stood off to the side being the outsiders and in a way the enemies due to our coven affiliation since it's been pretty much a given that I was now a part of the Volturi and not just because I'd married into the name seeing as Demetri sported it on the end of his official name of this century and I'd taken in after our marriage.
"I'd like to introduce you to someone" Carlisle began and I looked up startled out of my thoughts for a moment when I saw he'd turned to me and I was holding out his arm for me to step forward which I did after a tiny bit of reluctance and nerves. "This is Sophia, she's Demetri's mate and the newest member of our kind" I smiled politely watching as they all took me in before looking back at where Demetri and Felix were and I didn't need to have Jasper's ability to taste the bitterness and distaste for the two men who were my family.
"That sounds interesting, I'm sure there's a story here to be told" the younger of the two men in the group smiled at me before holding his hand out towards me. "The name's Garret" I smiled taking it and shook his hand once before letting go. "I'd love to hear it" the ice seemed to be broken with Garret's words as we all headed inside where they were introduced to Thea and reacquainted with Renesmee before we began telling our stories with me doing most of the talking when regarding Demetri and I's story.
"So wait, he kidnapped you and you fell in love with him and then you's got married and on your honeymoon conceived?" Garret asked with a joyous smirk on his face.
"Uh...I guess so" I shrugged feeling a little self-conscious about it.
"Wow talk about romance of the ages" he laughed and I felt Demetri's hand tighten around my hand which made me look up seeing a scowl on his face so I squeezed his hand back.
"We asked you here because Sophia has a very rare gift, one that I've never seen before and we were curious if Eleazar, you could shed some light on it...perhaps you've seen it before"
"I sense a gift from her but it's hard to pinpoint what exactly it is" the older man...Eleazar I'm assuming answered Carlisle nodding at me.
"Perhaps she ought to show you" Carlisle nodded before turning back to me, I nodded my head sharing a quick look with Demetri before I let go of his hand and stood up moving so I was center in the room seeing all their eyes on me as I focused on disappearing only a couple meters to the left feeling the familiar pressure as I disappeared and watched all the eyes who hadn't seen me use my gift before widen when I reappeared.
"Holy-" the other blonde tugged on Garret's arm cutting off his curse as I focused and used my ability one more time reappearing beside Demetri sitting back down.
"I've never seen such a power" Eleazar spoke up, surprise clear in the tone of his voice and I frowned since what the hell did that mean. "You have a very unique gift"
"Unique as in good or unique as in bad?" I questioned.
"That's up to you and how you use it" he replied which made me frown.
"Great so I'm freaking superman" I sighed since that sounded an awful like the 'great power comes with great responsibility' jargon and I heard Emmett start chuckling at my remark.
"You definitely have an interesting gift"
We talked about everything I've been able to do so far, Demetri's inability to track me which helped them plus Eleazar's passement determine that my gift was a type of shield with a mental and physical aspect which Eleazar concluded was very surprising as for the next few days during their visit I continued to work on my ability trying to strengthen and enhance it which Kate...the other blonde tried to help out with like she had with Bella and it worked to a degree as I was able to 'ghost' further and further with each practice session but I so far haven't been able to exceed more than a ½ mile radius around the Cullen house.
"Do you think I'd ever be able to take someone with me?" I asked Kate as it was just me and her practicing across the river.
"I don't know, we don't even know how your bodies capable of it yet so I probably wouldn't recommend trying" I nodded since I hadn't planned on it anytime soon but I had been curious about it before we got back to working on it slowly distancing ourselves from the house to work on my distance by me ghosting back and forth.
When night fell I gave Thea her bottle before handing her over to Rosalie who was eager to have her as usual before I sighed and started to head downstairs to meet Felix and Demetri at the bottom of the stairs since I was doing it...I was going hunting with them and I was beyond anxious about it since we were going all the way to Seattle and not only was I going to feed on a human but I was going to be so far away from Thea and it's the first time I've ever been more than a couple minutes away from her.
"You sure you want to do this, you could try feeding off animals" Edward stopped me.
"As much as that would appeal to me, I think I'm a fan of bambi a little too much" I smirked but that wasn't the reason, I knew the Volturi would never approve of that choice and he frowned at my thoughts but didn't say anything as I went down and smiled at Demetri who almost looked as nervous as I felt.
"You ready?"
"As I'll ever be" I replied catching sight of myself in a hallway mirror and fixated my gaze on my own inky black eyes which revealed my hunger, Felix and Demetri's weren't quite as dark as mine but they had darkened as it's been about a week since either of them fed but only a day since I had but my tolerance was way lower than theirs and I wasn't risking coming back hungry for the sake of my daughters safety so I was feeding tonight no matter what.
"We'll be with you, every step of the way" Felix encouraged placing his hand on my shoulder which I smiled at appreciate in their support as we left the Cullen's mansion with me casting one look back at where I knew my daughter was before we took off at a run.
It took us about ½ an hour to reach the bustling city of Seattle and I had slipped a hoodie over my head in the remote chance that someone recognizes me even though that chance is very slim given that although I lived here for more than two years I didn't know anyone who would have missed me but better safe than to get recognized and I listened as the boys described the hunting process as I followed their leads holding my breath for now.
It was hard to concentrate on what they were telling me as I couldn't help think about the process especially as Demetri described the way he chooses as I thought back to the night we met, the night he'd chose me as his victim and although things turned out for the better for us, I was unable to stop thinking about all those that didn't and it was enough to let in reluctance which started making me falter in my steps which they immediately noticed as they were also on their guard as my thirst could make me volatile.
"Soph?"
"I don't think I can do this" I shook my head using up all my air to get that sentence out before I went back to holding my breath.
"We talked about this" he sighed I knew I must be a disappointment since I'm probably the only vampire in history that doesn't want to feed on humans or animals. "You have to hunt Soph, you can't push it any longer...for Thea's sake" I nodded unable to reply without breathing and he frowned. "Felix go hunt, we'll catch up with you"
"You sure?" Felix asked him.
"Yeah" Demetri nodded so Felix left to hunt for himself. "Come with me" Demetri grabbed my hand and started leading me to a more desolate part of town that I knew was where the more low lives hung out in around this time of night and I frowned confused as I listened to the sounds around us, sirens seemingly coming from every direction and music from bars. "Breathe and tell me what you smell" I hesitated looking into his eyes before I let go letting myself take in a breath and was immediately hit with foul odors of urine, sweat, beer and drugs. "Not all humans deserve your kindness Sophia"
"But who am I to be their executioner?" I pressed.
"I know it's hard to separate that nobility, my father had raised me to believe in the gods and at first after I was turned by Amun I believed that I would be angering the gods for taking human life and that I was damned but if I was damned than I'd never had met you, we'd never have had Thea because if I truly was dammed than I couldn't have been gifted the two most important things in my life" I smiled at him. "No matter what you decide to eat, I'll still love you and your soul will always be pure Sophia because that's just who you are" I stepped towards him and pressed a kiss to his lips.
"I love you" he smiled and kissed me back.
"I love you" he replied before deepening it and I sank into his embrace feeling electric shocks of energy go through my body as desire filled every one of my senses.
"Give me the bag lady"
"HELP!" I broke out of the kiss when those voices reached my ears and I frowned feeling myself moving before I'd even thought about it finding myself standing in an alley watching two guys with a woman cowering on the ground while they emptied out her purse.
"Hey!" I called to get their attention and their heads snapped up.
"Shove off missy, this ain't your business" one of them sneered holding out a switchblade towards me, I slowly walked forward so that I didn't reveal myself to the girl who was watching in fear, if I was stupid and showed my strength or speed than she'd have to die as well as she didn't deserve that but these two on the other hand.
"Leave her alone"
"I don't think you heard me, shove off or your next" I glared at him since I was directly in front of them.
"I don't think you heard me, give her back her purse and leave her alone" with my back now towards the woman I sneered back my lip which immediately instilled natural fear into these two idiots who backed up at the sight of me, their instincts telling them that I was dangerous and I watched as they dropped the purse and ran disappearing but I knew they weren't about to get far.
"How...how did you do that?" the woman asked me.
"I have a gun in my waistline, here" I lied handing her the purse. "I suggest you get out of this part of town it's not safe" I warned her before I turned and headed in the opposite direction.
"Thank you, what's your name?"
"Grace" I smiled lying before I left getting out of view before I sped off following my mates scent into an abandoned warehouse where I found him with the two idiots.
"Nice hunting, mi amore" he smirked at me.
"Nice capturing" I smirked back before I turned towards the two men cowering in fear, the biggest of the two smelling like he'd actually pissed his pants which was just gross but made me smirk over the fact that Demetri had clearly scared the living shit out of them.
"First picks yours" I grabbed the biggest of the two since not only was he the one who'd had the switch blade pointed at that woman but he reminded me so much of my ex-boyfriend and I let the hunger take control and I bit into his neck ignoring his screams and that of his companion as Demetri fed on him.
I felt the blood immediately start spurting out as I sloppily fed but this is the first time I've fed on something live with the blood still pumping and man did it feel a hundred times better than drinking reheated blood out of a bag but I fought against my consciousness to not lose myself in the taste of his blood as I listened to the heart begin to slow as I drank, the smooth liquid soothing my scorching throat before the heart gave one last shudder before falling silent right as the last drop was gone and I let go of his body closing my eyes as I heard it 'thud' against the ground.
"Soph" I felt his hand against my cheek before I opened my eyes.
"I'm okay" I smiled at him and he let a smile onto his own face before he started laughing.
"You should totally see yourself in a mirror, I think you lost like nearly 2 liters just on yourself" I looked down and noticed the blood that was staining what was a crisp white button up and frowned since I hadn't thought I'd been that messy.
"Holy crap, I can't go back out there looking like this?" he just continued to laugh. "It's not funny!" I yelled and he stopped.
"Okay, okay it's not funny but you uh...we're gonna need to work on your technique a little bit"
"What is that supposed to mean?" I asked before I looked at him and noticed he didn't have a single drop or mess on his dark blue shirt. "How the hell are you so clean?"
"Well I've had over a thousand years practice on you" he laughed again but quickly stopped when I glared at him. "You have to create like a...suction after you bite so no blood is split"
"A what?" I asked since that didn't make any sense.
"Okay...uh..." he looked troubled for a second and I realised that he's never had to explain it before.
"Haven't you like turned anyone before me, how did you teach them?"
"I haven't, you're the only person I've ever wanted to change" he admitted and to be honest I was a little surprised by that but felt kind of honored that I was the only one Demetri's changed. "Okay, I'm gonna show you" he suddenly pulled on my waist and before I knew it he was trailing kisses along my neck before stopping over where my pulse point used to be and began sucking on the skin making me instinctively lean my head to give him better access as it felt amazing and I let out a small whine/moan as he continued to suck and lick at my skin which surely would have bruised my more fragile human skin. "See what I did there?" he asked pulling back and I let out another whine this time in protest to him stopping.
"What, you just made out with my...oh!" I cut myself off once I realized what that was supposed to be, he was teaching me how to suction for the blood to not escape...if I could blush I'm sure my cheeks would be bright red. "I'm glad to be the only person you've turned if that's how you want to teach me" I couldn't help saying and he smiled.
*******SEX SCENE WARNING*******
SKIP OVER IF YOUR UNCOMFORTABLE
"Did I get you all bothered?" he asked a cocky and knowing smirk on his face which told me that maybe it wasn't all teaching.
"Well can you blame me, you haven't so much as touched me since our honeymoon" I complained stating a very true fact, in the week leading up to the fight he hadn't had much time and then I was pregnant so it's been nearly two months since we've even shared more than a few kisses.
"Where do you want me to touch you?" he asked, his voice a tiny octave lower than usual and it did a number on me. "Huh?" his hands fell to my waist as he pushed me until my back hit a concrete pillar.
"Oh god...everywhere" I moaned since just feeling his body pressed up against mine was driving me crazy.
"You'll need to be a lot more specific mi amore" he smirked knowing full well what he was doing to me.
"Just...touch me" I begged not caring, I was a woman who needed to be touched by her husband and there was nothing wrong with that.
"I am touching you" he replied sliding his hands up underneath my shirt and I heard the buttons popping off and falling to the ground as he worked to open the front of my shirt at the same time.
"Demetri please, don't play games right now" I told him letting my head fall back roughly hearing the concrete crack under the force as his hands had found their way to my breasts kneading them in his hands as he moved my bra aside.
"Who am I to you?" he asked and at first I was confused until I recalled our wedding night.
"My life, my husband, my lover...my Casanova" I breathed out saying exactly what I knew he wanted to hear and his hands were on my waist again lifting me up so I could wrap my legs around his waist in a 8th of a second and my jeans had been pulled down in the process as well which had allowed me to slip in and undo his belt and push his pants down just enough to free him and in another 8th of a second he was filling my core as I moaned out letting my head fall back once more as I tightened my arms and legs around him. "Oh god"
"Am I your god?" he asked and I could do nothing but laugh since I can't believe we're doing this in the middle of an abandoned warehouse but it was relieving a lot of pent up frustration.
It seemed that no matter how many times he was able to bring me undone it wasn't enough but after three times, once with my back against the pillar legs around him, second with my back towards him and lastly on the ground not caring how filthy the ground was we finally decided to postpone for now no matter how much we both wanted to continue we fixed each other up and he ended up giving me his shirt since mine was pretty ruined now and he texted Felix telling him we were heading back to Forks early since he was half naked without a shirt which just made it so much harder to resist going a few more rounds.
*******BACK TO NORMAL STORY*******
It didn't take us long to run back to Forks and the moment we stepped out of the tree line I wanted the ground to swallow me up when I saw Emmett who burst out laughing at the sight of us, at first I was confused until I looked at Demetri and remembered that I was wearing his shirt and he was shirtless but not only that but he had severe sex hair as it wasn't in it's usual spiked up fashion but a mess as my hands had ran through it multiple times and Emmett knew this for certain.
"Have fun?" he asked us and I saw Demetri roll his eyes since he'd been hoping to avoid this which is why we'd gone ahead of Felix as we'd expected it from him.
"Where's Thea?" I asked him avoiding holding eye contact with him long.
"Spare room" he smirked and so I pushed my way past him. "Did you's tear down the room?"
"You need help Emmett!" I called back at him as I made my way upstairs where I found my daughter asleep in the crib that Bella and Edward had let us borrow during our stay here and smiled leaning down to kiss her forehead.
"I think you might need this" I looked up at Alice's hushed voice seeing a fresh set of clothes in her hands and a knowing look on her face and I remembered that she could see the future and lately with us being around I knew she'd begun to see snippets of mine.
"Thanks" if I could blush my face would be a constant flush of red that was downright embarrassing but I guess this is what it'd feel like to have siblings and the feeling was kind of nice to be honest since I didn't even know who my parents were let alone if I have actual siblings, not that it mattered anyway as I had all the family I need with Demetri and Thea.
"I think next time we should wait until we're in our room in Volterra" I looked back at Demetri just as I'd finished changing into the fresh clothes and noticed he'd been given a change of clothes too.
"Agreed although we're gonna need to figure out where Thea's gonna sleep" I told him and he stopped seemingly thinking having forgotten that we have a daughter.
"I'll have to organize with Aro if we can take over one of the other rooms in our hall, set up a bedroom for her" I smiled nodding my head before we left the room leaving her to sleep deciding to go on a walk just to avoid Emmett's immature comments without going too far that we couldn't hear for when Thea woke up.
The Denali's spent around three days with the Cullen's and in that time I got to a semi-friendship with them all, Garret being the one I got the closest to as he was funny and I loved his war stories which kept me entertained during my daughters naps and whenever I wasn't training with Kate which we'd been able to up my distance to a mile which I was proud of and she assured me with continuous practice there was no telling how far I'd be able to ghost through the world which made me determined to keep at it.
We still had things that puzzled us about my ability but working closely with Kate and Eleazar overseeing my progress we understood a bit more about it which eased some of Demetri's concern over it and a little of mine too that I was content to be able to work on developing it further without them which is why their visit was over and they'd left and not a moment too soon since Aro finally contacted Demetri asking that we finally return to Volterra so we were leaving as well and I almost couldn't wait to get back to Italy even though I would miss the Cullen's as they weren't so bad and I'd call them friends if our covens weren't in constant disagreement with each other.
"I'm going to miss you" Emmett laughed hugging me and I hugged him back.
"I'll probably miss you too" I replied hearing a laugh from Felix as I turned seeing Rosalie walk up with Thea. "Thank you so much for your help Rosalie, I couldn't have done any of this without you and I promise I'll bring her back to visit one day"
"I look forward to it, she's been wonderful to have around" she smiled and handed Thea to me.
"You come back and see us alright" Esme was next to say goodbye and I nodded feeling nothing but kindness from her as always. "You two are always welcome here, Demetri included"
"Thank you so much Esme, for letting us stay here and taking care of me when I was pregnant"
"Not at all" she smiled as Carlisle stepped up beside her.
"And of course thank you Carlisle, I wouldn't even be here or have her if it wasn't for you, I owe you more than my life"
"Nonsense, I simply helped a strong woman become even stronger" he replied and I smiled surprising myself and him when I hugged him.
"I mean it Carlisle, thank you" I told him before stepping back, we said goodbye to the rest of the Cullen's before I got into the taxi with Demetri since Felix was gonna run to the airport where the Volturi jet was waiting for us but we didn't want to run with Thea so we decided to get a taxi and meet him there.
"I know you'll miss them but you can come back and visit" I nodded my head at Demetri's words as we pulled away and they faded into distance.
"I'm kind of nervous of everyone back in Italy and how they'll respond to having Thea around" I replied being mindful of what I say due to the human taxi driver, we both had blue contacts in our eyes and they were severely irritating especially when Alice had put them in for me.
"They'll irritate your eyes for a few seconds" Alice told me as she held my eyes open and placed the dark blue contacts in my eyes and my eyes immediately began to blink as if I had something foreign stuck in them and I saw my vision was clouded by the poorly made faux contacts which only changed my crimson eyes to a much natural color for the drive.
"Remember to blink at least every few seconds" Rosalie added who was getting in last minute cuddles with Thea and I nodded my head blinking to accent the need to remember to blink as I was going into a human populated area and I needed to remember to act human which I haven't had to do in nearly three weeks. "And don't sit too straight, remember to slouch and move your shoulders so it looks like your breathing" I sucked in a deep unnecessary breath moving my shoulders.
"Okay I think I got it, remember to move, blink-"
"And hold your breath but mimic breathing" they nodded and I sighed nodding my head.
We arrived at the jet and saw Felix waiting, I hopped out pulling Thea out of the car and carried her while Demetri paid the driver and the flight crew began loading up our luggage which was a lot more than we'd originally had since Alice really loved to shop and had bought us clothes over the course of our stay which I was entertained by especially when she had Demetri wearing colors besides black and grey.
"Ready to go home tigress and little cub?" Felix asked and I laughed at the nicknames rolling my eyes slightly as we boarded the plane and took our seats with Demetri buckling in Thea into the car seat in which Bella and Edward had given us and we settled in for the long flight.
It was a very long and boring 12 ½ hour flight from Seattle to Florence where, it was a little harder with a baby despite her being smart and aging faster which meant she matured faster as well a 12 hour flight was just as hard on her to keep content while she was awake but we managed and when we finally came to a stop on the tarmac in Florence I was relieved but nervous since this is the first time the Volturi coven would be seeing me as a vampire and I wasn't sure how I felt about it as I was still getting used to it myself.
"You ready for your debut?" Demetri asked smirking over at me as we stood to disembark from the jet.
"As I'll ever be" I smiled at him before dropping my eyes to where Thea was currently curled with her arms around his neck and her head resting on his shoulder fast asleep, it was strange to think that he ever doubted he could be a father since from the moment I woke up he's been a natural with her.
"Let's go, I'm dying to watch Heidi's reaction!" Felix laughed and I frowned since I hadn't thought about Heidi.
"Don't worry mi amore" Demetri said seeing my look and I nodded as we left the plane and since it wasn't that far to Volterra and the fact that Thea was used to vamp speed and she was asleep we ran o the castle with her remaining asleep the whole time.
We stopped just outside the gates of the city and began the short walk through towards the castle going through the front entrance under the clock tower and down to the elevator, I had begun to feel nervous again and was fiddling with my hands anxiously before I heard my daughters breathing change and looked up seeing her lift her head from Demetri's shoulder.
"Good morning baby girl" I smiled knowing that the sun was probably just beginning to rise which is why we'd had to hurry a little bit. "Did you have a good sleep on daddy?" I smiled.
"You know she can't talk yet right?" Felix asked but I ignored him as Thea held her arms out towards me and I smiled for the fact she now wanted me and took her from Demetri right as the elevator doors opened and we stepped out into the reception area seeing the usual human receptionists/servant for the Volturi, it being a different woman than when we'd left.
"Buon giorno" she greeted standing up smiling at us but as usual the boys ignored her and I offered her a small smile especially when I noticed her eyes on Thea as we walked past and through the doors to the throne room and I let out a breath making Demetri stop and turn to me.
"You'll be fine" I nodded and he took Thea back as I was nervous which meant Felix opened the doors and we walked in, my eyes immediately finding Aro's who was walking from his throne towards us.
"Let me see you child" Aro smiled and approached me and held his hand out, I didn't hesitate and placed my hand in his curious to know if he could still read my mind after my gift developed. "Yes...I still see, immortality suits you our dear Sophia" he smiled and I nodded. "But Demetri still can't track you...fascinating isn't it, how ones mate can be so different" I smiled a bit at that since I was still glad for that fact. "Your own gift...so rare...will you please show us" he let go and I nodded closing my eyes picturing myself closer to the thrones and ghosted watching everyone's eyes widened except for Demetri and Felix before I ghosted back to where I was standing previously. "Absolutely remarkable!" Aro clapped with almost childlike glee. "You have a spot on the guard my dear, your gifts will truly be useful amongst us" I felt relief fill my entire body hearing those words, that I can remain with my family and I turned to Demetri which finally seemed draw Aro's eyes from me and he gasped seeing Thea. "And of course...your sweet child"
"Master" Demetri nodded and I frowned since I would have to get used to addressing them as master's...especially Caius who was staring impassively at this entire interaction.
"Please introduce us to your remarkable daughter" I smiled taking Thea from Demetri.
"This is Althea, but we call her Thea"
"Such a beautiful name and she truly lives up to what it means" I nodded my head smiling at Thea who was looking at Aro with almost curiosity which wouldn't surprise me. "Such beauty, her mother's looks" I laughed a little at that when I saw Demetri smirk. "I know we all look forward to watch the two of you grow into a fine immortal and half-immortal"
"Master, we wish to set up the room beside our for Thea"
"Yes, yes of course...go, settle her in and get settled back in yourselves" we nodded dismissing ourselves to our room and the moment I stepped inside I felt calm wash over me from the familiar surroundings of his room as I put Thea down and let her wander seeing as she crawl around.
"Everything's changed so much since we were in this room last"
"I promised everything would be okay didn't I?" Demetri whispered in my ear as his arms wrapped around my waist.
"You did, but you didn't quite believe me when I was pregnant"
"Neither did you when I left for the war, we both were stubborn but now...we'll never have to go through either thing again...at least apart"
"Well lucky Thea's our one and only miracle child"
"I'm thankful for that, I don't think I could ever go through that again"
"Me too" I smiled leaning my head back against him as he ran his hands over my flat belly...a definite perk of becoming a vampire was instantly losing the baby weight. "I'll never envy women who have had multiple children"
"You don't regret the choice of staying with me and losing the chance to have a large family" I turned around to face him.
"No" I replied placing my hands on his cheeks. "I was ready to give up children completely to be with you Demetri, having Thea has been a gift one that I'm happy to stay content with because she's our miracle and that'll always be enough for me, you'll always be enough for me...I love you"
"I love you" he replied leaning in and captured my lips but it didn't last long as we heard something break and turned seeing the vase that had been on the coffee table between the two couches was knocked over and the flowers and water was now all over the floor with Thea sitting next to it having pulled at the short table runner.
"Uh-oh" she suddenly said and our eyes widened as she'd said her first words. "I'm sorry momma" my eyes continued to be wide for the fact that she'd said a whole sentence already.
"It's...it's okay" my voice broke through the shock I was feeling as I walked over and picked her up getting her out of the way of the sharp ceramic pieces which Demetri was already cleaning up.
"Are you mad at me?" she asked and I frowned at the clear and distinct, high soprano voice which matched most vampires.
"Of course not, my sweet baby girl" I hugged her and she wrapped her arms around my neck as I looked at Demetri, my expression mirrored in his eyes.
She was a week old and already talking and not just a single world but full sentences could speak with flawless grammar and articulation.
"Momma happy?" she asked and I couldn't help a small smile on my face.
"Momma happy" I nodded agreeing with her before I put her down and watched as she crawled to Demetri and tugged on his pant leg indicating he pick her up and he didn't disappoint his daughter.
"Dadda happy?"
"Dadda happy, Koritsáki" she smiled at him and I sighed since this was too fast for my liking, I knew she'd stop growing so I didn't have the fear of death but that didn't mean I wanted my baby growing up so fast.
"Let me see her" our heads snapped up watching Chelsea grace into the room immediately plucking Thea out of Demetri's arms. "Oh arent you the most beautiful thing I've ever seen"
"You okay?" Demetri asked walking up to me barely speaking so that there was no way Thea could hear us.
"I...I have to be"
"Doesn't mean you are" he replied and I nodded my head before we turned to Chelsea.
"Oh and isn't your mother just as gorgeous, your daddy is certainly one lucky man"
"Dadda?" Thea held her hands out to Demetri and he immediately reached in and took her from Chelsea.
"She talks already"
"It just happened" I replied walking up beside Demetri and grabbed Thea's hand smiling softly at her.
"Well master Aro told me everything and we should shop and set up her room, I'd love to help"
"Thank you Chelsea but uh...just not right now" Demetri answered her and she seemed to catch onto our mood.
"Right, I'll...let me know if I can help okay" we nodded and she left the room.
"Dadda down" he placed her down per her request and crawled around the room.
"Bags arrived" we heard Felix say as he knocked and dropped something at our door before his footsteps retreated, Demetri fetched our bags and pulled out the toys that the Cullen's had given us for Thea to play with before he took my hand and we walked into the bathroom.
"It'll be okay, we know she's okay"
"It's too fast, I...I want her to stay my baby"
"I know mi amore, I know" he pulled me to his chest and I sighed letting his embrace calm me before we went back out and decided to spend the day just in our room with Thea before she went down for her nap which is where we left her napping on our bed while we went to the next room over and began planning her room still feeling like everything was happening so fast but there was nothing we could do.
