A/N: Hoping this earns some reviews. Big story dump today.
OOOOOOOOOOO
Victor couldn't believe that he was doing this. Getting mushy, lovey-dovey feelings for someone. He was the kind of guy that took a girl to bed and then kicked her out the next day, never remembering her name afterwards.
But something was different about this one girl.
Ciara.
Victor didn't understand it. She looked as pretty as some of the other girls that he'd shagged before. She had iridescent wings though rather like a mixture between a fairy and a butterfly. He loved to look at them. He sometimes wondered what it would be like to touch them. But Ciara never let anyone touch her wings. They would close up and fade into a tattoo on her back. Protected from everyone that could damage them.
Victor walked across the green of the park that Ciara frequented, muttering curses to himself. Couples sat on the green, talking and having stupid picnics. Victor despised them. But given that today was Valentine's Day and he had become infatuated with a woman, he could only hate himself for doing the same thing that they were.
If she turns me down, I'm going to smack myself right off the nearest bridge, Victor thought to himself. And I'm going to let myself sink to the bottom of the water and stay there until I'm dead. He smirked. But that's not going to happen because she's going to choose me.
Victor hadn't missed how Ciara would steal glances at him. Whenever he caught her, red would tinge her tan cheeks and she'd quickly look away. He wouldn't have thought that someone whose job was at a strip club would be so nervous around him. Then again, he was an Alpha by nature. He could intimidate almost anyone.
There she is, Victor thought, spotting the mutant on a concrete stage farther in the park.
Ciara was dancing on the stage to music he could barely hear. She wasn't dancing for anyone in particular. Just dancing. And not like she did where she worked, unfortunately.
Her eyes lit up when she saw him and she waved, dancing over to the edge of the stage. "Victor!" she called out, smiling at him.
"Hey sweetheart," Victor said, keeping his gift to her behind him. "You look good." His eyes blazed. "Is it all for me?"
Ciara smacked him playfully. "You wish. I'm a mess. Just having fun on the stage because I can." She winked. "You should come to the real show sometime. It's a lot better and I'd see what I could do to get you a private party, half off."
The feral mutant shook his head. "For you, any real man would pay full price. Even double it."
"Ah, mi amor, you compliment me so much," Ciara commented, smiling brightly. "But seriously, you need to come to my work. You'll love it."
Seeing you dance for other men for money…I don't think so. Victor placed a smile on his face. "I'll think about it."
Ciara smiled and held her hand out. "Come dance with me?"
Victor shook his head again. "I don't dance…"
"Now you do," Ciara stated, grabbing his free hand and pulling him farther onto the stage. "Because I said so. You'll love it." She motioned for him to give her his other hand. "Victor."
Victor kept his hand behind his back, shifting his grip on the gift he had for her. Ciara snuck a quick peek behind him and smiled mischievously.
"What do you have there, mi amor?" Ciara asked, pointing.
The feral mutant kept his mouth shut. He hated to admit that his heart was racing. He didn't want to admit that he was nervous.
Ciara sighed and crossed her arms. "Victor, are you going to make me do what I did to Logan?"
His eyes narrowed. "What does Logan have to do with this?"
Ciara examined her nails. "He brought me a gift to celebrate this day of love. A bunch of flowers, beautiful flowers."
Victor growled and pulled his gift from behind his back. "Where did he go?" he demanded.
"That way," Ciara commented, pointing towards the back of the concrete stage. "You know…to mope. Because I threw the flowers in his face."
Those words caught Victor off guard. He stared at her for a moment and she started laughing at him, dancing backwards. The girl twirled and danced lightly on her feet. Her wings made an appearance as she spun and sparkled in the light that peeked through the clouds.
"Come on, Victor, forget about him. Come dance with me," she crooned like a siren.
Victor moved over to her. She slid her hands over his shoulders and started moving her hips. Victor let out a little growl as she brushed her body against his and her eyes glittered. He put his hand at her waist and squeezed, earning a laugh from her. He pulled her closer and looked down into her rich dark chocolate eyes.
"You're being naughty," she said with a slight purr.
"Sweetheart, this isn't as naughty as I could be," Victor warned her. "I could be a really naughty and you would blush like crazy."
Ciara smirked and rolled her body into his. "Says you."
The two danced for a few moments and Viktor saw her wings shiver. She wasn't wearing a coat or even a jacket and he knew that the temperature wasn't being kind to her. He stopped dancing and backed away from her.
"Why didn't you bring a jacket?" he demanded. "It's cold outside."
Ciara shrugged and wrapped her arms around herself. "Didn't think about it. I was too excited about the sunshine after so many stormy days here." She ducked her head. "You'll have to forgive me."
Victor rolled his eyes and took off his own jacket. He wrapped it around her and let his breath out through his nose. Ciara held the jacket closed with one hand and breathed in deeply.
"Smells like you," she whispered, peeking at him shyly. "That's nice."
Victor didn't know what to say. No one had ever told him that he smelled nice. Then again, he hadn't let people get close to him. Not like with her.
"Mi amor," she said softly. "What did you bring for me?"
He'd almost forgotten about the gift. Victor moved it into view. It was a bottle of aged whiskey. Suddenly it felt like it was a worthless gift.
And yet, her eyes widened with adoration. She took it from him and held it with almost reverence. Victor lifted an eyebrow.
"Mi amor, thank you." She smiled at him and her wings fluttered underneath the jacket.
The girl popped onto her toes and pressed a kiss to his cheek. Victor looked at her in surprise and she smiled at him, offering her hand.
"Be my Valentine?" she said, wiggling her fingers.
Victor smirked and gripped her hand, pulling her close to him once more. He touched her face and traced his thumb over her bottom lip. Ciara didn't make any move to stop him, didn't shy away. He brushed his lips against her lips and kissed her harder.
Ciara was breathless when he pulled away.
"I'll be your Valentine, if you'll be mine," Victor said, smirking at her devilishly.
The girl let out a small cry of happiness and threw her arms around his neck, peppering his face with light kisses. "I thought you would never ask, mi amor!"
Victor chuckled and kissed her firmly. Always full of surprises, this one.
