Kagome was not prepared to deal with the dangers lurking in the modern era. She thought she was done once she returned home from the Feudal Era. However, trouble seemed to follow her wherever she went.
Everything was going great at once. Adjusting to her normal routine wasn't as difficult as she thought it was going to be. She got up early and kept up with her archery every morning, sometimes going for a jog.
She had returned home with just enough time to study and somehow just barely graduate school. She immediately began applying for the different high schools around the area. Unfortunately they all declined due to her absences and poor grades. She was then forced to apply to schools that weren't in the area.
Eventually one of them accepted her.
"Juban High School," Kagome sighed. She had hoped to get into the same school as her friends, but that was now a lost cause.
"Don't worry, Kagome! We can still hang out!" Eri grinned at her.
"Yeah!" Ayumi agreed, "At least you managed to find a highschool to accept you. That's gotta count for something, right?"
"Yeah, you're right!" Kagome perked up almost instantly. She'd make sure not to miss any school and study diligently. "Hey, do you guys know any good tutors?"
"I mean, you could ask Hojo," Yuka suggested.
Kagome instantly deadpanned, "I think I'll pass…"
"I'm so sorry to interrupt, but I overheard you were in search of a tutor?" A girl with short dark blue hair stood before the four of them with a smile on her face. "I'm Ami Mizuno!"
"Kagome Higurashi," the priestess replied as they shook hands, "You'll really tutor me!?"
"Of course!"
"You're a goddess!" Kagome practically cried. She scribbled down her phone and address on a napkin. "I desperately need the help. I just barely managed to get into a highschool! But, I've gotta go. I'm in charge of dinner tonight! See you guys later!"
The others watched as she took off down the street.
"Poor Kagome. She's got a lot of catching up to do." Yuka sipped at her beverage.
"Why what happened? If you don't mind me asking." Ami looked between the three girls.
"Kagome was really sick in middle school. She contracted a lot of different diseases and had to miss school often." Eri explained to the blue haired girl.
"Yeah, sometimes she'd be gone for weeks and none of us would hear from her."
"That sounds terrible!"
Ayumi nodded her head, "Yeah, but she's made a complete turn around towards the end of the school year and is in perfect health."
"I see. If you'll excuse me, I must be going. It was nice meeting you guys!" Ami waved goodbye as she left them.
A week later, Kagome got a call from Ami Mizuno to set up a study session.
"How about tomorrow? Around 1?"
"Sure! Sounds great!" Kagome gave her her address and bid her farewell. "Alright!" Kagome cheered. "For once I'll be ahead of the game!"
What she wasn't ready for was the intense study session Ami put her through. Of course she brought snacks and her mother made them snacks, but other than bathroom breaks, all they did was study. Of course Kagome was grateful for it, but by the time Ami left, Kagome's brain was mush.
A few days later, Kagome found herself standing in front of the Goshinkboku tree. She rested her hand on the scar of the bark of the tree where Inuyasha was once sealed. "It's been nearly six months since I've returned." She spoke softly, "I'll be starting high school soon. I even have a tutor, her name is Ami and she's very smart… Time really does fly…"
Kagome shook her head and decided to go for a walk to clear her head. She found herself wandering through the park. It was the closest thing to the Feudal Era. It was also on this night when her world was turned upside down when she was approached by a girl. "Is she...cosplaying?" The woman's aura reeked of malice. She tensed as the woman stopped in front of her. "May I help you?"
The girl was small, she looked no older than 13, with short curly white hair and silver eyes. Mouse ears sat atop her head that were surrounded by yellow beads. Loose white curls hung from each of her mouse ears. She couldn't tell if they were real or not, but her aura suggested she wasn't human. She wasn't entirely sure what the mouse girl was. Whatever she was, it wasn't good.
"She's so cute…" Kagome couldn't help but think as she looked the mouse girl over.
"Yeah, you can start by giving me your star seed!" the woman grinned as she brought her arms up. A golden light shot from the bracelets she wore and headed straight for Kagome.
"Star… seed?" Kagome summoned a barrier just in time. The light clashed with her own energy before fading away. The Priestess let out a sigh of relief, "That was close," she turned her blue eyes to the mouse girl who stared at her in shock.
"Who are you!?" the girl pointed a finger at Kagome.
"Hey! I should be asking you that! You don't just approach someone and attack them!"
"Heh, I am Sailor Iron Mouse and I'm here to take your star seed! It'll be a wonderful addition to Sailor Galaxia's collection." Once again she let loose another blast from her bracelets. Kagome pulled her barrier up once more and used the debri to dive into the bushes.
"Stop right there!" Both Sailor Iron Mouse and Kagome, hidden in the bushes, turned towards the voice.
"Who are you?" The mouse girl scowled at the newcomer.
**Kagome gaped, there before her stood Ami Mizuno dressed in a sailor fuku with a short blue shirt and light blue bows on her chest and lower back. The bow on the front of her chest had a blue heart in the center. Around her neck she wore a blue choker with a golden star in the middle, her knee high boots were also blue and the gloves she wore were white with blue transparent elbow pads. She had blue earrings on, three studs in each ear and a tiara with a blue jewel in the middle of it. "What the Fu-"
"I am the sailor-suited soldier of intelligence and justice - Sailor Mercury! Douse yourself and reflect on what you've done!" She struck a pose before jumping down and standing just where Kagome had been.
Kagome watched as a battle raged between the two Sailor girls. Sailor Iron Mouse using her bracelets and Sailor Mercury using her water type abilities.
"Tch, damn you Sailor Mercury! Sailor Galaxia will not be pleased," Sailor Iron mouse backed away and summoned a telephone booth. "Not only did that girl fight back and escape but a sailor scout showed up! I'll get you next time Mercury!" she yelled as the Telephone booth disappeared.
Kagome used this opportunity to sneak away, making sure Mercury didn't see her. Once she was sure she was far away enough, she took off in a sprint and didn't stop until she was in her room.
"What the hell did I just witness?"

A.N: This takes place during the Sailor Stars Arc
Sorry for any OOC. I've never written a sailor moon fanfic,
Despite my love for Sailor Moon
** This is her Super Sailor Mercury transformation
I don't really have a pairing for this. I was thinking Seiya (Sailor Star Fighter) but I haven't decided. Any thoughts?
Maybe incorporate Kagome as a secret ally to the Sailor Scouts?
A traditional miko's uniform with a fox mask to hide her face?
I don't know.
