It had been a few days since Kagome's encounter with Sailor Iron Mouse and Sailor Mercury. Of course. She hadn't had another encounter with either Sailor Mercury or Sailor Iron mouse, much to her relief.
She had even tried to do some research on Sailor Mercury, but found nothing. The only thing she found were articles about Sailor V. A young masked female superhero who saved people who were in trouble. Even her little brother had heard of Sailor V.
"Geez, Sis, you've missed out on a lot since you started travelling to the Feudal Era," and thus her brother had told her all about Sailor V.
At this point, her tutoring with Ami Mizuno had come to an end. For the time being anyway. Kagome had no doubt in her mind that she'd be calling Ami to help her with her studies once more. She was a really good tutor.
In exchange for her tutoring sessions, Kagome invited the blue haired girl to hangout in the city and spend some time getting to know her. She had tried so hard to deny that Sailor Mercury and Ami Mizuno were not the same person, however they had the same aura.
She hadn't brought it up to her, obviously she wanted to keep it a secret or she would have said something by now, at least, that's what Kagome assumed.
Kagome dragged the poor bookworm all over town, enjoying the beautiful spring weather and each other's company. It wasn't often Kagome got to spend time with people other than Ayumi, Eri, and Yuka. They were her best friends, but all they wanted to do was sit around and gossip and go shopping.
Kagome was returning home one evening from grocery shopping for her mother when she heard a cry for help. Kagome sprung into action and ran towards the scream only to come across the mouse girl from a little while back. She arrived just in time to see Sailor Iron Mouse shoot beams at an innocent civilian.
Above the woman's head appeared an orange flower that bloomed instantly to reveal what Kagome could only assume was a star seed. Sailor Iron Mouse looked pleased, but only for a moment when the star seed lost its light and turned black.
"What the hell do you think you're doing!?" Kagome dropped her bag of groceries and rolled up her sleeves as she marched towards Sailor Iron Mouse, ready to pummel her for doing such a terrible thing.
"You're the girl from last time!" she smirked and summoned her telephone booth, "You arrived just in time to die! Bye bye, have fun playing with my Phage!" And she disappeared leaving Kagome alone with the monster.
"Coward!" Kagome yelled. She let out a yelp as the monster attacked her, barely dodging her first attack. "Hey! Watch it buddy!" The monster wielded a bat made out of vines and thorns, "That's not fair, it gets a weapon and I don't?"
The monster didn't respond to her, only attacked her once more. It kept coming at her over, and over again until Kagome was panting heavily. "Damn." She didn't know what would happen if she purified it. She didn't want to hurt the human it possessed.
Just as she picked herself off the ground and both parties prepared to attack, something whizzed between the two of them and stuck itself in the ground. "A rose?" Kagome stared at it confused. Kagome looked up to spot a man standing not too far off to the side wearing a formal tuxedo suit with a black cape, the interior of the cape was red. He wore a white mask and a long black hat.
"Who the hell are you?" Kagome asked the newcomer.
"I am the rose that slashes evil, Tuxedo Mask!" he announced throwing another thorny rose at the monster. The rose pierced the center of its chest and it let out a loud cry.
"Don't hurt it!" Kagome said, "It's still human. If you're here to help, then distract it until I can get close enough!"
Tuxedo Mask wasn't entirely sure what this woman was planning on doing, but it found it best to do as he was told. She was supposedly just an ordinary human. She was clearly no Sailor Scout. Tuxedo mask whipped out his cane and charged the monster with a battle cry, meeting it's thorny bat with his black cane. He made sure to keep one eye on the girl who had her eyes closed.
Kagome silently thanked the man known as Tuxedo Mask for distracting the monster. It gave her a little bit of time to focus, to find the star seed. In a sense, the star seed had the same pull the Shikon No Tama had, only not as strong. The star seed cried out to her, begging to be saved. To be purified from the evil corrupting it.
"Don't worry," Kagome whispered, "I'll save you."
Tuxedo Mask fought back as much as he could, but the monster overpowered him, knocking his cane to the side, he jumped away from it, landing beside Kagome. Kagome dove for the cane as the monster lunged at the pair. Tuxedo Mask dodged easily enough. The monster
"Hey ugly!" The monster whipped around and snarled at her before charging towards her with its thorny bat. Kagome grabbed the cane he once held and channeled her energy into it before raising the cane, blocking its strike. Kagome grinned as the monster was overcome with her miko energy. It screamed and dropped to its knees before her, tears streaming down its face. The monster's body began to crack open until it fell apart to reveal the woman and her tainted star seed. Kagome reached towards it, only to be stopped by a gloved hand.
"Release me." Kagome glared at Tuxedo Mask.
"I will not. What are your intentions with that Star Seed?" he didn't trust her. They may have fought together, but he wasn't sure of her intentions.
Kagome growled when his grip tightened. She did the only thing she could think of. She lifted her knee and kneed him right in the gut. He collapsed to the ground, releasing her as he did so. He could only watch as she reached for the Star Seed once more. As soon as her hand came in contact with it, the darkness within the Star Seed disappeared and the woman collapsed into her arms.
Tuxedo Mask had never seen anything like it before. He thought only Sailor Moon could save these people.
"Do not tell anyone what you saw. If I find out you did, the consequences will be severe. You cannot hide from me. I will find you." Kagome gave him a final glare before turning and walking away, picking up her groceries and quickly heading home. She had sensed the aura of five more people heading her way, one of them being Ami Mizuno.
She huffed in annoyance once she had finally made it home and was safe in her room. Trouble always seemed to find her wherever she went. She really didn't want the stress of encountering these monsters on top of school.
