Days passed without incident. Kagome had yet to come in contact with Sailor Mercury or the mysterious man called Tuxedo Mask. School would be starting soon, and trouble was not something she was looking for. She wanted to avoid it at all costs.
However, knowing beings like Sailor Iron Mouse was out there collecting and corrupting Star Seeds didn't sit right with her. "Maybe I should leave it alone and let Mercury and Tuxedo Mask handle these things." she sighed, "I wonder if there are others out there just like them."
Ami had a unique aura. It was blue, probably due to her association with water. The color of her aura was not what was unique about it. Her aura had a calm and soothing effect, unlike everyone else. It was the first thing Kagome had noticed upon meeting her. There was also the most noticeable thing about her Aura. It almost completely pure.
Almost pure.
Humans were not perfect beings, after all. As far as she knew, Lady Midoriko and herself were the only two humans who had an aura that was completely pure. It was how the jewel stayed purified, void of any evil, for so long. Even Kikyo could not keep the jewel completely pure.
She shook her head, ridding herself of those thoughts. She'd cross that bridge if she ever arrived. For now, she wanted to focus on school and living as close to a normal life as she could get. Subconsciously, she knew that would never happen, especially with recent events.
Her first day of High school quickly approached. Kagome was proud of herself. For a long time, while she was traveling through the Feudal Era, she thought she'd never make it into High School. Her first day was just orientation really. She met with a few of her classmates, one being Ami Mizuno.
"I didn't know you were planning on attending here, Kagome," Ami said.
To be honest, knowing Ami was Sailor Mercury still caught her off guard. One look at the bookworm and you would never guess she was a badass fighting monsters with water like abilities. "Uh, yeah, sorry about that," Kagome gave her an apologetic smile, "I guess it just slipped my mind."
"Would you like to join me and the others after school today? We're all meeting up later at the park!"
"The others?" Kagome tilted her head.
"Yeah. My friends from middle school! We all attend the same school, except Rei. She attends a private school."
Kagome shrugged, "Sure, why not."
"Great! I'll meet you there after class and introduce you!" with that, Ami waved goodbye and headed off to her next class.
Kagome watched her go until she was completely out of sight before heading to her class.
As the school day came to an end, Kagome gathered her things ready to head out and meet up with Ami and her friends. She would be lying if she said she wasn't a little anxious. "I wonder if her friends know about her secret Identity?" she thought to herself.
"Kagome over here!" Ami waved the priestess over to a group of girls, four of them wore the same uniform as she and Ami, while the fifth wore a separate uniform. Kagome approached the group and smiled politely at the women, fighting the shiver that threatened to run through her body.
"Guys, this is Kagome Higurashi!" Kagome couldn't help but occasionally glance at the black and white cats with matching crescent moons on their foreheads.
"That's odd." The matching moons weren't the only thing odd about the two cats. It looked as if they were studying her. It was unnerving really.
The first girl that Kagome laid eyes on had wavy chestnut colored hair pulled into a ponytail tied back with a green hair tie. She wore the standard high school uniform that she and the other four were wearing. Ami introduced her as Makoto Kino.
The second girl was a cute blonde haired woman standing beside Makoto. She had a big red bow in her long blonde hair and bright blue eyes. She happily greeted Kagome with a 'Hey' and a wave of her hand, introducing herself as Minako Aino.
Kagome raised a curious eyebrow as she stared at Minako. From the pictures her brother had shown her, Minako resembled the superhero, Sailor V. "I wonder if she really is Sailor V."
The third girl had long straight black hair that had a purple shine to it with purple eyes. She wore a different uniform than the rest of them, "That must be Rei," Kagome mused as she offered the woman a smile.
The last of the group caught Kagome's attention the most. Not in her appearance. She resembled Minako, blue eyes and blonde hair she wore in Odangos. Kagome stared in awe at the smallest of the group. Usagi Tsukino radiated such purity and innocence. Her aura shined so brightly Kagome almost had to shield her eyes.
Her aura was warm and inviting. It wrapped around Kagome in a comforting embrace, much like a mother holding her child.
"Kagome, are you okay? Why are you crying?" Kagome blinked out of trance like state and wiped a stray tear from her face.
"I didn't realize I was crying," she could see the concern in each of the girl's faces, "Sorry to worry you! I'm fine! It's nice to meet you guys, Ami spoke very highly of you during our study session."
"Hey don't worry about it!" Minako stepped forward and took hold of Kagome's hands, "We're glad that you became friends of Ami's!"
"Yeah! Any friend of Ami's is a friend of ours!" Makoto grinned at her.
Three of them accepted Kagome right on the spot, the only one who seemed off put by Kagome was Rei. She studied Kagome as she interacted with her other friends, a frown etched onto her beautiful face. She watched as Usagi practically shoved Luna in her face and gave the cat an introduction as well. Minako made sure to include Artemis.
Rei could see as Kagome's eyes softened when Usagi spoke to her.
"She's beautiful, Usagi!" Kagome reached forward and scratched behind Luna's ear. She almost pulled away at the shock that went through her body as she made contact with the cat. "What the hell kind of people do Ami hang out with?" Each of them had a unique aura, similar to Ami's.
Makoto had a green crackling aura, like lightning. Minako's aura was a light orange, almost bordering on yellow. Rei had a fiery red aura. And then of course Usagi had the most beautiful aura of all five of them. It really took her breath away.
As they parted ways from Kagome, Makoto turned to Rei, "What's with the sour face?" She wasn't the only one who had noticed Rei hadn't really interacted with their new friend.
"I sense something… odd about her," she crossed her arms over her chest, "What do you know about her, Ami?"
"Not much. She lives on a shrine, just like you. I remember her friends mentioning something how she was really sick during middle school. She hardly attended class due to her illnesses and fell behind."
"She seems perfectly normal to me!" Usagi chimed in.
"Of course you'd think so," Rei sighed. Sometimes she wished the others could sense the same things she could.
"I could sense it too," Luna commented from Usagi's arms.
Artemis nodded in agreement.
"We'll all have to keep an eye on her. After all, she could be an enemy!"
They all nodded in agreement.
Throughout the week, Kagome could swear she could feel eyes watching her wherever she went. In school, she couldn't really pinpoint who had been watching her like a hawk. On her way home she could still feel eyes watching her every move, but she couldn't sense anything with any malicious intent, nor could she sense any of the four girls she attended school with.
She smiled, they had made sure to invite her to join them for lunch everyday and include her in their conversations. She was happy to have a small group of friends. She was finally beginning to feel like a normal high-school girl.
But all good things must come to an end.

A/N:
There is still so much I don't know about Sailor moon!
I know a few people have commented in the past about some of the lore of sailor moon, and honestly, I would LOVE for someone to share that information with me!
Suggestions are welcomed as well, especially those regarding Sailor Pluto or small Lady. Like I said, there's still so much I don't know, so the more info I can get and the more theories for this story are welcomed!
:)
