Scene 1: Camp
[Track 1] Kayleigh looks around. Southbank, London is in ruins, and the sky is burning a bright crimson red.
KAYLEIGH: It had to be here, didn't it? Of all the places, the planet that's burning like a furnace. Look at all this rubbish, anyway…
She looks back at a rocket, billowing smoke.
KAYLEIGH: Oh, no. What do we need to get out?
DOMINAS: About 5 tonnes of fuel.
KAYLEIGH: Great…
DOMINAS: Shouldn't take too long. Oh, Grandu, see what vestige of power we can salvage, then help Kayleigh, Alfa and I move the stuff over into that big chapel there.
GRANDU: Alright.
Kayleigh frowns, looking across the remains of the millennium bridge.
KAYLEIGH: Dom?
DOMINAS: What's wrong?
KAYLEIGH: I thought…
DOMINAS: What?
KAYLEIGH: Nothing. I just thought I saw something move over there.
DOMINAS: The Earth's been vacated. There's nothing left except what remains of humanity's creations. Now, Rotimi, get this exposure shielding active.
ROTIMI: Alright.
KAYLEIGH: There it is again!
DOMINAS: You're dreaming, sweetheart. Now, get to work. Pedro, go find us some building materials to develop our shelter from the solar flares.
PEDRO: You got it.
Pedro walks off.
KAYLEIGH: No-Don't!
DOMINAS: We don't need impossible nonsense, Kayleigh. There's nothing that can survive here for a prolonged amount of time. Everything here's dead.
KAYLEIGH: Alright…
DOMINAS: Good. Now, get to work. I want the rocket primed for launch as soon as possible.
Kayleigh hurries into the rocket.
Scene 2: Street Ruins
Pedro walks along. Some rocks fall.
PEDRO: Hello? Who's there? No…nothing. There can't be.
Something giggles.
PEDRO: What the-?
It then giggles from behind him. He lifts a broken can.
PEDRO: Dom? Hey, Dom-
Rocks fall.
PEDRO: What are you? How can you be alive? Talk to me, dammit! Who are you?
He looks around, and turns back. He briefly yells. The can rolls around on the floor next to stone boots - boots similar to Pedro's.
ROLL TITLES
Scene 3: TARDIS
The TARDIS is in flight. It rumbles as the Doctor slowly pulls a lever down.
DOCTOR: Hmm…
AMY: What's wrong?
DOCTOR: The TARDIS drifted off course slightly. I needed to land, but she's scared. Hold this for me.
The Doctor passes her the sonic and points to a panel as he starts to fiddle with some wires under the console. She uses the sonic.
AMY: Scared of what?
DOCTOR: I don't know. Get Rory. I'm going outside.
The Doctor walks to the door.
AMY: For once, couldn't you just leave it alone?
DOCTOR: Oh, Pond. What do you think? Now - husband. Go!
The Doctor slips out the TARDIS doors as Amy sighs.
Scene 4: Street Ruins
[Track 2] The Doctor looks out, then crouches down, sniffing.
DOCTOR: 5 billion…ish. With a hint of…temporal displacement energy.
ALFA: Oi, you!
The Doctor gets up, raising his hands.
KAYLEIGH: I told you, didn't I? There was someone else here!
DOMINAS: What have you done with Pedro?
DOCTOR: Who? Pedro?
Dominas' watch beeps.
ROTIMI: (oc) Dom, it's me. I've nearly got that Shield Hub working, but we've got a problem.
DOMINAS: What problem?
ROTIMI: Come and see.
DOMINAS: Wait there, we're on our way.
The watch beeps twice. Dominas looks to the Doctor.
DOMINAS: Looks like we'll have to postpone this interrogation. He can come with us.
The Doctor is dragged away. Amy and Rory exit the TARDIS. Rory, wrapping his grey jumper around his green polo shirt, sighed.
RORY: I knew it. I knew he'd run off!
AMY: No, you did not!
RORY: Never let him go off alone!
They run off in the opposite direction to the Doctor. Something moves suddenly.
Scene 5: Camp
The Doctor and the Rocket Crew arrive.
DOCTOR: Nice camp you got here. Why did you land here? Bit of a dump. Well, now it is.
DOMINAS: We crashed. Probably your fault. And this isn't our camp, this is just our rocket. That's our camp.
DOCTOR: St Paul's Cathedral is your camp?
DOMINAS: It will be. It's not too damaged, so easily repairable to block out the solar radiation. It's fine for now, but stay too long exposed to it and you'll burn.
DOCTOR: Solar radiation? I think I just got 10 times more worried about the Ponds…
They walk over the millennium bridge.
Scene 6: St Paul's Cathedral
They all walk in. There are square patterns carved onto a hexagonal device sat on a round column and base in the middle of the room.
DOMINAS: This is the Hub.
Dominas removes one of the square panels to reveal a circuit. The wires have all been ripped out.
KAYLEIGH: Someone's sabotaged it!
GRANDU: Someone doesn't want the radiation to stay out.
DOCTOR: Or it wants something else to get in…whatever it is.
ALFA: There can't be anything out there! It's the end of the Earth, nothing can exist here!
KAYLEIGH: You're so closed-minded. Where's Rotimi?
Kayleigh runs off.
DOCTOR: I need to find my friends.
DOMINAS: And I need to find my colleagues. They won't be able to survive exposed to the elements for long.
DOCTOR: They won't be able to survive at all with whatever it is on the loose. And I don't want my friends getting hurt or we'll all be in big trouble. Because, as my captor, you're responsible for my friends' safety, which I take very seriously.
Kayleigh screams. The Doctor, Alfa and Dominas sprint over. Kayleigh points to Rotimi, who's now stony structure is cracking. The only remains of the human apart from the shape are the whites of his eyes, which are wide-eyed with fear.
DOMINAS: What's happened to him? Some sort of Gorgon?
DOCTOR: No! Isn't it obvious? It's a biological transfer. His DNA has fused with the stone molecules.
DOMINAS: How?
DOCTOR: I'm not sure.
ALFA: Look at his hands!
Rotimi's hands are slightly fizzling.
DOCTOR: Temporal displacement energy-Oh. Oh, no.
DOMINAS: What is it?
DOCTOR: I'm such an idiot. I know what's going on. Of course they would. At the end of the world, they'd survive. They'd always survive. My friends are in bigger trouble than I thought! Come on, we've got to find them. Now!
The Doctor runs out.
Scene 7: Westminster Bridge
Amy and Rory walk past a group of broken statues.
RORY: I don't think he came this way.
AMY: Let's get back to the…
Amy looks at the statues, which have changed position slightly.
RORY: What's wrong?
AMY: The statues. Have they moved?
RORY: I don't think so. TARDIS, come on.
Amy turns back to Westminster Bridge, and looks at something on the side.
AMY: Wait!
Amy runs onto Westminster Bridge, followed by her husband.
AMY: There's something on the railings.
Looking over the edge, Amy gasps. A misshapen statue clings on, with small sharp edges towering over its shoulders.
AMY: Oh, no.
RORY: It's just a statue, isn't it?
AMY: Only when you look at them. We've got to find the Doctor-
[Track 3] They turn back. The statues have started to move closer. They are all reaching out.
AMY: Oh, my god!
RORY: Come on, this way!
They run.
Scene 8: London Eye Pod
Amy and Rory jump into an abandoned glass pod. He slides the door shut.
RORY: Did we really just trap ourselves on the London Eye?
AMY: Trapped? Who said that?
Amy takes the sonic screwdriver out of her pocket and sonics the London Eye. It slowly creaks as it moves. The statues continue to approach. They, too, are forming some additional sculpt on their backs, looking similar to wings.
RORY: Moving statues. As if this day couldn't get weirder.
AMY: Keep watching them! Don't take your eyes off them.
Amy throws her leather jacket that has been rolled up at the sleeves, revealing her navy jumper, smashes one of the windows and starts to climb on top of the pod, before helping Rory up.
RORY: Okay, what now?
AMY: Now we take our eyes off them.
RORY: I'm confused, what are they?
Scene 9: Jeep
The Doctor and Dominas drive around in the shell of a jeep. The Doctor is looking at a handheld device.
DOCTOR: The Weeping Angels. It makes sense! Left here.
Dominas turns left.
DOMINAS: What are the Weeping Angels?
DOCTOR: The Lonely Assassins. They send you back in time and feed off potential energy. But for strategic purposes, they can just kill you. Not their preferred form, but if they need to stop their plans being blabbed to the world or they need a body, they will. Right, right!
The jeep swerves to the right.
DOMINAS: And what are you doing with that?
DOCTOR: Handheld scanner. I'm locking onto human life forms. Looking for two humans in London, easy peasy!
DOMINAS: What about Rotimi?
DOCTOR: I don't know yet. I'll work it out soon. As long as they stay looking at him, they should be fine.
DOMINAS: Up there!
The jeep stops. They watch as Amy and Rory climb up the moving London Eye, being chased by half-formed Weeping Angels.
DOCTOR: Oh, no. Amy!
The Doctor runs towards the London Eye, dodging the statues. Suddenly, there's a loud rumble.
DOMINAS: What was that?
DOCTOR: Oh, no. It can't be.
A huge shadow looms over the London Eye.
DOMINAS: That wasn't there before.
Scene 10: London Eye Pod
Amy and Rory look up.
RORY: You have got to be kidding me.
Nelson's Column towers above them. Nelson is holding onto the London Eye to stop it from moving.
AMY: The Angels are focused on Nelson! Come on!
They climb down from one pod to another.
Scene 11: Westminster Bridge
[Track 4] The Doctor runs along.
DOCTOR: Amy! Get in and hold onto something!
He watches as Amy and Rory climb into a pod.
Scene 12: London Eye Controls
The Doctor flicks a few switches.
DOCTOR: Come on, come on!
The London Eye starts to speed up. Nelson's Column is flung away.
Scene 13: London Eye Pod
Amy and Rory scream. Suddenly, a Weeping Angel smashes a window, climbing in.
AMY: Rory!
Rory steps forward.
AMY: No!
Rory pushes the Angel out of the window, before screaming in pain as the Angel's hands reach across his face. The Weeping Angel smashes, but then slowly reassembles. The pods stop, and the Doctor runs in - the pod has arrived at the entrance.
DOCTOR: What happened?
AMY: He touched the Weeping Angel!
DOCTOR: Get him into the car!
Amy helps Rory into the jeep as the Doctor picks up the Weeping Angel's broken wrist. He dives into the jeep and Dominas drives off.
Scene 14: St Paul's Cathedral
[Track 5] Rory groans in pain as the Doctor walks in, studying the Angel's wrist.
DOCTOR: Do you have any scientific equipment?
AMY: Doctor!
DOCTOR: I'm trying to work out what happened to him, Pond. Just wait.
DOMINAS: In that box.
The Doctor rummages through a box and takes out a microscope. He places the hand on the slide.
DOCTOR: Just as I thought. This hand's got a DNA transfuser. It releases a venom into their victim's bloodstream to turn them into stone so a Weeping Angel can occupy their body. They're trying to get back to the past. They're dying without a food source. Rory's going to become a Weeping Angel.
AMY: And the good news is?
DOCTOR: I don't know yet. Kayleigh! Alfa! Grandu!
KAYLEIGH: Over here!
The Doctor runs over. Rotimi is in the same position.
DOCTOR: Good. If we don't blink, it stops the process. Keep looking at him, Amy! It'll slow it down!
The Doctor cuts off a bit of the Weeping Angel's wrist and places it back under the microscope.
DOCTOR: I can see the stone molecules. Rory, I need a bit of your blood.
The Doctor grabs a needle and stabs it into Rory's arm. He then puts a drop of blood into the microscope.
DOCTOR: Yes, I think I can cure it. We just need this hand and the TARDIS.
He turns to the rocket crew.
DOCTOR: You three wait here. Amy, Rory, come on.
Rory groans. Suddenly, something snaps.
DOCTOR: What was that?
Dominas looks up. He yells. They all look - there are five Weeping Angels crawling on the ceiling. [Track 6]
DOCTOR: No, no, look at him! Look at Rotimi!
Rotimi has turned to stone completely. He suddenly fizzles away.
DOCTOR: Amy, keep looking at Rory!
KAYLEIGH: What happened to Rotimi?
DOCTOR: A Weeping Angel fused with his DNA. A passenger as Rotimi went back to the past. They're coming for us.
Dominas looks to the doorway. A broken Weeping Angel - missing a wrist stands there.
DOMINAS: Oh, no!
DOCTOR: Dominas, keep looking at the Angel in the doorway! Amy, help Rory to the TARDIS, but keep an eye on him at all times. Kayleigh, Alfa, look to the-
He looks up. The Weeping Angels are gone.
DOCTOR: No-one move. Everyone do exactly as I tell you. Don't let them move-
A Weeping Angel appears behind Alfa, it's arm outstretched.
DOCTOR: Watch out!
Another Angel appears, reaching for Kayleigh. A third appears behind Grandu.
DOCTOR: I've got an idea. All of you come here, quickly! Don't take your eyes off your own Angels.
They both hurry towards the Doctor.
DOCTOR: Amy, just keep looking at Rory. The rest of us, close your eyes.
DOMINAS: What?!
DOCTOR: My ship is across that bridge. If we want an antidote for whatever's happened to Rory, we need to get to it. So I need you to trust me.
They all blink. The Weeping Angels are closer. They are surrounded.
DOCTOR: Okay, okay. Now…Everyone get down.
They get down. The Angels are looking at each other.
DOCTOR: Good, good. That worked. The Weeping Angels are quantum locked - they can't move if they're being observed.
KAYLEIGH: And they're all looking at each other!
DOCTOR: Now, come on. Back to the TARDIS.
DOMINAS: I've got an idea.
He runs over to a crate and lifts up some guns.
Scene 15: Millennium Bridge
They run across. Suddenly, Alfa stops.
DOCTOR: Alfa? Alfa, what's wrong?
ALFA: I don't feel so…good…
Alfa collapses to the floor.
DOCTOR: You never did get that exposure shielding working, did you?
AMY: What's stopping us from being affected?
DOCTOR: Nothing. We've got to hurry.
Kayleigh picks Alfa up, and helps his weak body walk.
DOMINAS: Guys…
Three Weeping Angels are on both sides of the bridge.
AMY: How did they escape?
DOCTOR: They didn't. There's more than six Angels. In fact, I'd say that the planet now belongs to the Weeping Angels.
The ground rumbles. They all fall. As they get up, they realise the Angels are closer.
DOCTOR: Earthquake! Come on!
They fall to the floor once more, and the Angels get closer. Dominas raises the gun and fires it. A wave of gas emerges, smothering the Weeping Angels in front of him.
DOMINAS: If they can't see, then how do they know?
DOCTOR: I'm not sure if that'll work…
KAYLEIGH: No!
They turn. Kayleigh has been touched by an Angel. They turn back. The Angels are right in front of them.
DOCTOR: Grandu, keep watching Kayleigh and the other angels-Grandu?
Grandu has been turned into a Weeping Angel. He disappears, as does the Angel that touched him.
DOCTOR: Amy, how's Rory?
AMY: We don't have long!
KAYLEIGH: Leave me, I'll hold them up for now. They can't get me, they already have. Go, get out of here. Now!
The Doctor nods. They all run, except for Kayleigh.
Scene 16: Street Ruins
The four run through. Weeping Angels are everywhere.
DOCTOR: Down here!
The Doctor takes out his key and inserts it into a hole.
DOMINAS: This is just a box!
DOCTOR: Okay, stay out here, then.
The Doctor, Amy and Rory run inside. Dominas looks inside and gasps. He walks inside.
Scene 17: TARDIS
Dominas looks around.
DOMINAS: It's bigger on the inside?
DOCTOR: I thought that was just me.
AMY: Doctor!
[Track 7] A Weeping Angel is in the TARDIS!
DOCTOR: We need that out. It has the power to turn off a Sun.
RORY: I can't…I…
DOCTOR: Work something out, I'll get Rory sorted.
The Doctor and Rory get out.
DOMINAS: Did you see? Grandu, when he disappeared, so did the Angel.
AMY: Yeah, so?
DOMINAS: So if someone was touched by the Angel, it'd disappear.
AMY: What are you doing?
Dominas steps forward.
DOMINAS: Guess it's my turn to step up.
AMY: Don't be ridiculous.
DOMINAS: That's just my thing - being ridiculous. If the Weeping Angels are too powerful in this machine, then we need to evict them.
Dominas turns to Amy, before yelling.
AMY: No!
DOMINAS: Please…please. Let me save you, and see my friends again. Do it.
Amy hesitantly turns around. Dominas disappears. She sighs.
CUT TO:
A few minutes have passed. The Doctor and Rory walk back in. Amy and Rory hug.
DOCTOR: What happened to the Weeping Angel?
AMY: Dominas happened.
RORY: Where is he?
AMY: The Weeping Angel.
DOCTOR: I see. I'm sorry, I should've saved him. I should've saved all of them.
The Doctor starts to fly the TARDIS, his shoulders sagging with the weight of death. Amy and Rory glance to each other, not sure what to say.
Scene 18: Street Ruins
The TARDIS disappears, giving the planet back to the ownership of the Weeping Angels.
