Scene 1: Spacestation Airlock
[Track 1] The TARDIS materialises. Amy pokes her head out, wearing one of the orange spacesuits.

AMY: What now?

DOCTOR (oc): I'm bored!

Rory walks out. He too is wearing the spacesuit.

RORY: We know you're bored. You just piloted the TARDIS through a quantum asteroid field because you were "bored".

The Doctor walks out. He is in a third spacesuit.

DOCTOR: Well, I'm even more bored, now. Look at this. Earth technology, near future, I'd say. Adventures, fun!

RORY: Why do I have a feeling that some alien's gonna pop out and attack us?

DOCTOR: Now why would anyone do that?

RORY: Every time we go somewhere either something follows us or something's already there that'll try to kill us.

AMY: But have we died yet because of any of it?

RORY: Well you haven't…

DOCTOR: Oh, stop complaining!

The Doctor looks out the window embedded into the airlock door. Outside is Earth.

DOCTOR: Earth's orbit, you see? Space! I told you the suits were worth it!

RORY: I didn't say the spacesuits were an issue, I said the colour was.

AMY: Does that mean we're in an airlock?

DOCTOR: Yes, let's get out of here quickly.

The Doctor uses the sonic on the other door. It opens to a corridor.

Scene 2: ISS Corridors
The Doctor, Amy and Rory walk along.

AMY: So, we're on some sort of space station, or a satellite? And when are we?

DOCTOR: By the technology, I'd say...mid 21st Century. 2052?

Rory reads a sign imprinted with the NASA logo.

RORY: We're on the International Space Station.

DOCTOR: Safe to breathe.

They take off their helmets. The door shuts behind them.

DOCTOR: Ah. The extra oxygen the TARDIS released has increased the pressure of the door. We'll need to loosen it a little.

The Doctor takes off a panel, sticking the sonic screwdriver into the wires and reattaches the panel.

DOCTOR: That'll do us in half an hour. Come along, Ponds. Let's go say hello.

AMY: It's very quiet.

RORY: Well, we are in space, it's hardly going to be Greenwich Market.

AMY: But it's really quiet. Where is everyone?

The Doctor looks about. It's clear he knows something is amiss.

Scene 3: NASA Hallway
A man walks along. His hair is rugged, and he wears a blue tie.

Scene 4: NASA Mission Control
The ISS is on many screens. A lot of people work at the controls. The man walks in.

SWOOP: I'm here, what do we need?

RANDY: You're late. One hour late.

SWOOP: I only got the message an hour ago. Now what's wrong with the International Space Station?

RANDY: Six hours ago, we lost contact. No radio signals, nothing. It just suddenly died.

SWOOP: And what am I here for?

RANDY: You are the emergency technician, aren't you?

SWOOP: I am. What, is it a problem down here?

RANDY: Not exactly…

A glass case starts to hum and light up.

SWOOP: You're kidding me.

RANDY: The transmat is ready for you.

SWOOP: Are you serious?

RANDY: Your mission is to get the ISS online as soon as possible and report in.

SWOOP: What then?

RANDY: We'll reactivate the teleport. We'll only have a brief window to transmat. Hurry.

Swoop rushes into the case and a spacesuit is fitted around him swiftly..

ANDERS: Power steady.

RANDY: And...transmat!

Swoop disappears. Randy looks out a window to the sky.

ROLL TITLES

Scene 5: ISS Control room
[Track 2] The Doctor, Amy, and Rory enter the control room. The lights are flickering and most of the monitors are filled with static.

RORY: Still empty. This can't be right, can it?

AMY: Everyone's sleeping?

DOCTOR: No, right now it's the equivalent of, say, 3:30 in the afternoon for them, they still have 7 and a half hours until bedtime. Meaning that-

The Doctor's cut off by a bright light shining in his face.

KEVIN: Who's there?

RORY: Don't hurt us, please! We come in peace!

DOCTOR: Quiet, Rory.

KEVIN: This is Science Officer Kevin Wills of the ISS Space Crew, signature X2-19, answer my question or be sent out the airlock!

RORY: Are you allowed to do that?

DOCTOR: Shush. I'm the Doctor, these are my friends Amy and Rory.

KEVIN: Doctor who?

DOCTOR: That doesn't matter. What does matter is that half the power's out. What happened?

SOPHIE: Hey! Kevin! What's going on over there?

Sophie floats over to the group and notices the Doctor, Amy, and Rory.

SOPHIE: What? How the hell did you even-!

DOCTOR: Again, doesn't matter, just tell us what's happened.

A beeping sound then a flash of light appears from around the corner.

RORY: What was that? What's going on here?

Swoop enters, trying to make a cool entrance but failing due to lack of gravity.

SWOOP: I'll tell ya what's going on. All contact was lost yesterday without explanation. 2 or 3 hours out is stable but half a day is a bit much. So what the heck is going on here?

RORY: And who are you? You just appeared from nowhere and expect us to trust you?

SWOOP: Swoop Broadside, emergency technician at NASA and former astronaut.

Swoop shows his NASA ID card, then putting it back in his pocket.

AMY: That still doesn't tell us what happened.

KEVIN: That's the thing, we don't know. We've been receiving power fluctuations, which is normal. But then the whole system shut down, the power, everything, and the comms tower got locked. We can't contact any of the technicians that are supposed to be in there.

SOPHIE: I still say it's aliens.

KEVIN: Which is impossible because they don't exist.

AMY: (to Rory) An astronaut who doesn't believe in aliens? The future's weird.

DOCTOR: What was your name again? Kevin?

KEVIN: Yeah.

DOCTOR: Well Kevin, let me tell you something. Have you ever been to say, Mars?

KEVIN: Uh… no?

DOCTOR: Or have you ever been to London between the dates… I don't know, 2005 to 2020?

KEVIN: No?

DOCTOR: You have a long way to go until you can say aliens don't exist. How do you think Swoop here got here in the first place?

KEVIN: NASA Transmat. Invented in 2020 after… multiple… UFO sightings…

DOCTOR: I rest my case. Anyway, what to do now.

SOPHIE: Split up?

SWOOP: Have you not seen every sci-fi horror movie ever? That hasn't worked since from the 1st to 10th Alien movie!

SOPHIE: Make that 11, one came out last week.

DOCTOR: It can still work if we're in large enough groups. I will head down to the generator, fix the lighting. Amy and Rory, with me. You guys inform the rest of your crew.

KEVIN: And why should we just allow you to do that? We don't even know who you are.

DOCTOR: I'm the Doctor, I'm an alien with a time machine and I'm here to save your life. Any other questions?

KEVIN: But aliens...aliens don't really exist, do they?

DOCTOR: Ugh.

SWOOP: Fine. You go to the generator. But one of your friends stays with us.

RORY: I'll stay.

DOCTOR: Alright, Rory. Just...stay out of trouble.

Scene 6: ISS Hallways
The Doctor and Amy walk along.

AMY: I always wondered how it was looking down on Earth from space.

The Doctor points to the Earth through a window.

DOCTOR: That good enough for you?

AMY: Yep. Good enough.

DOCTOR: Mm.

AMY: So, this is our future?

DOCTOR: Yes it is.

AMY: So there could be another us down there? Me and Rory?

DOCTOR: If you've stopped travelling with me.

AMY: It's 40 years in our future, I'm sure we will have.

The Doctor stops. [Track 3]

DOCTOR: Are you...stopping? Thinking about it?

AMY: Well, no. It's just...I mean, your friends don't stick around forever, I know that. You've had people leave the TARDIS before.

DOCTOR: Yes, but...I always feel it. I've had lots of friends over the years, but that's because I'm a Time Lord. I live longer than everyone and I know when I look into my friends' eyes...they'll die...and I'll watch it. And you don't know how painful it is when all of your friends...every single one… I live on. And you don't expect it to end because it goes by too quick.

AMY: But you're such an important part of our lives, we've not been home for weeks. I don't think we could stop immediately, but one day, if we don't, we won't be that couple from Leadworth. We need to be close to home.

The Doctor looks out the window.

DOCTOR: That close enough for you?

Amy smiles.

DOCTOR: Now, the generator. I believe it's somewhere down here. Follow me.

The Doctor leads Amy down a corridor.

Scene 7: ISS Control Room
Swoop looks through the different panels on the control pads, opening and closing them one after another. He looks through the wires, finding nothing.

RORY: So uh…

SWOOP: Yeah?

RORY: Where're you from?

SWOOP: I would say...

Swoop switches to another panel.

SWOOP: I'd say that I was from Scotland, moved to England, moved to Canada for… a week, then Florida and got myself a job at NASA…

RORY: That would explain the accent…

SWOOP: What?

RORY: Nothing.

SWOOP: Still nothing… Hey, uh…What's-Your-Name.

RORY: Rory.

SWOOP: Yeah whatever. Help me out, I'm looking for some kind of… moss or something. At least something out of the ordinary.

RORY: Why would I? I don't have any work for this or-

SWOOP: I'll give you…

Swoop rummages through his wallet.

SWOOP: 5 bucks… 10 pounds. But we have limited time so if you aren't quick enough I'm getting a Mountain Dew from the NASA cafe.

RORY: Fine…

He starts to open a few panels.

Scene 8: ISS Generator Room
[Track 4] The Doctor looks around the corner into the generator room, Amy close behind.

DOCTOR: Coast is clear.

Amy follows the Doctor inside.

DOCTOR: The generator's a bifold system. Two people need to operate it, stand over there.

Amy walks around a large cylindrical terminal in the centre of the room. There is a lever, similar to the other side, pressed against it.

AMY: We pull these, yeah?

DOCTOR: Yep. Let's hope they've still got a bit of power still running inside. Alright, on three. One, two, three!

They both pull the lever simultaneously. There is a powering down sound.

DOCTOR: Oh.

AMY: Oh?

DOCTOR: That was our max power. We just turned it off.

AMY: Then what happened?

DOCTOR: I don't know. Perhaps the power's been diverted somewhere else on the station.

AMY: Well, it can't be too hard to find out where it's gone. I've seen images of the international space station - it's small!

DOCTOR: This isn't the same one, Amelia. This is the third model launched. This one is much bigger and it's systems are improved. But it shouldn't be possible to divert the power. The technology is still too primitive.

AMY: Then who did it?

DOCTOR: Hang on, hang on…shh!

The Doctor presses his ear against the wall of the generator.

DOCTOR: There! There's a baseline signal inside…I need the sonic, but it's still releasing the pressure of the door. I should really make a spare.

The Doctor looks around.

DOCTOR: There should be a storage room somewhere, can you find a spanner or something?

Amy runs out. The Doctor climbs on top of the generator.

Scene 9: Storage Room
Amy opens a door, and takes a spanner.

Scene 10: Corridor
As she turns to go back to the generator room, she sees a door with a red light above it. She goes over to it, with the spanner in hand. She uses it to break the lock and open the door. She sees some stairs and walks up them.

Scene 11: ISS Generator Room
The Doctor is looking at the generator. He looks up.

DOCTOR: Amy's taking a very long time.

He jumps down from the top of the generator and walks out.

Scene 12: Corridor
The Doctor enters.

DOCTOR: Amy?

He looks at the door Amy has opened.

Scene 13: Comms Tower
Amy hides around the corner. She looks at a tall, butch creature with wings encased in black leather armour. As it turns, Amy sees that it's physical appearance is not dissimilar to a shark. It coughs. The Doctor sneaks over to her, and she points. He nods, and leads her away, after she takes a picture of it on her phone. They exit.

Scene 14: ISS Control Room
Rory sits on one of the desks, whilst the others stand judgingly at the Doctor and Amy.

RORY: And it's called?

DOCTOR: I don't know. But Amy has a photo, I'm going to take it back to the TARDIS to get it analysed. How are your crew?

KEVIN: They're okay, just a little shaken.

SWOOP: Sorry. The what?

DOCTOR: It's my ship. I left it in the airlock over there.

KEVIN: You didn't.

DOCTOR: Yeah.

KEVIN: You've got to be kidding me.

AMY: What, what is it, what?

KEVIN: There was an issue with the pressurisation, so I prepared an ejection of the items inside. It's going to go off in...24 seconds!

The Doctor runs off. Amy and Rory chase after him.

Scene 15: ISS Corridors
The Doctor runs through. He opens the airlock and runs inside. As Amy and Rory reach the door, out of breath, they find that the TARDIS, and everything inside the Airlock, has been sucked out into space.

AMY: Doctor? Doctor, are you there?

DOCTOR: (oc) Yes, I'm alright, Pond. The stabilisation matrix has gone awry, and I'll need to fix it before I can come back-woah!

AMY: Doctor! What's going on?

DOCTOR: (oc) Shockwave-breaking-up-

Static.

AMY: Doctor! Kevin, we've lost the Doctor! Kevin?

RORY: Comms are down again.

AMY: Then we'd better head back to the others. Or…

RORY: Or what?

AMY: If the Doctor can't tell us what we're dealing with, then…

Amy wanders off.

RORY: Amy, where are you going?

AMY: Go see the others, I'm going to get something.

Amy turns a corner and disappears from Rory's sight. Looking conflicted, he shrugs and walks back to the main group.

CUT TO:

[Track 5] Amy walks around. She sees the broken door with the red light again.

AMY: Haha. Result!

Amy walks in.

Scene 16: Comms Tower
Amy sneaks in. The shark creature continues to work at the controls, as its coughing gets worse. The creature's growl voice speaks.

BAUXINT: -154. Fleet at 164. Fleet at 174. Fleet position moving 184. Locking at 194. Bessan fleet locked into position at 204 degrees.

AMY: (whispering) Bessan?

The creature stops. It turns around, its wings flapping slightly. Amy hides. The creature walks over, and grabs Amy. It snarls.

BAUXINT: Who are you?! Who are you?

AMY: Amy! My name's...my name's Amy.

BAUXINT: What are you doing here?

AMY: I could ask you the same thing.

BAUXINT: We are invading this planet.

AMY: Why?

BAUXINT: This planet has similar properties of our homeworld. But it was destroyed. By the Krillitane. We look for a new planet.

AMY: Well, you can't have this one. It's occupied.

BAUXINT: Earth's species are inferior.

AMY: What's your name?

BAUXINT: You don't get to interrogate, Earthling!

AMY: Just tell me your name. That's all I want. Just your name.

BAUXINT: Bauxint. Commanding Junior Bauxint Ahsreval.

AMY: Junior?

BAUXINT: I am learning to command our planet. It is a competition, among few other rivals, but I will win.

AMY: Then what are you doing here? Why aren't you with your fleet?

BAUXINT: I am the best of our culture.

AMY: What culture?

BAUXINT: Our lives are dedicated to technology.

AMY: You're the best technician on your planet?

BAUXINT: I shall hide the fleet from the Earth's view. The fleet will invade the Earth. My people will conquer the Earth.

AMY: We'll stop you.

BAUXINT: Fleet, advance into outer atmosphere. Await further orders.

As he ties Amy up with wire, spaceships outside start to get closer. Bauxint returns to the controls.

BAUXINT: I must contact the other satellites of your planet.

Bauxint presses a few buttons.

Scene 17: Space
A large dish on the top of the ISS starts to face the Sun. It shines brightly.

Scene 18: NASA Mission Control

The room suddenly roars with business as they look at the ISS.

RANDY: What's going on?

MOREEN: It's the ISS, sir. The satellite dish is functioning. I think it's trying to send us a message.

RANDY: They might be in contact! Start communications immediately!

Scene 19: ISS Control Room
[Track 6] The lights switch back on.

RORY: What's going on?

SWOOP: I don't know, I didn't do anything. Did you do anything?

SOPHIE: Nope.

KEVIN: We've got power!

SWOOP: Then we need to contact Earth.

SOPHIE: On it!

They run to the radio.

SOPHIE: Earth, this is ISS 3.0. Do you read us? I repeat, this is ISS 3.0!

SPOKESPERSON: (oc) This is Earth, we receive you.

They look at each other, overjoyed.

SOPHIE: Thank god. There's an alien on board this ship. A real one.

SPOKESPERSON: (oc) Did I hear you correctly? An alien?

SOPHIE: That's right, an alien. We've got proof of only one, right now, but there could be more.

Scene 20: Comms Tower
Amy struggles.

BAUXINT: This is Earth Satellite One. We are ready for the attack. Shut down the signals.

AMY: No! Stop! The Earth will be defenceless!

Bauxint cackles.

Scene 21: Piccadilly Circus
Cars drive about. All the screens turn off.

Scene 22: Times Square
All the screens go blank.

Scene 23: Train Station
There are lots of people on their phones. They all look confused as their phone signal disappears.

Scene 24: NASA Mission Control
They work at the controls.

RANDY: Everything?

TECHNICIAN: Yes, everything.

RANDY: Set up the emergency backup system, quickly.

TECHNICIAN: It's not the power, it's the signal. We've lost WiFi! The whole planet.

Randy looks away, worried.

Scene 25: ISS Control Room
Kevin flicks a few switches.

KEVIN: Nothing. We've lost it.

SWOOP: Hang on, your friends said that there was a signal or something rerouting the power.

RORY: Yeah?

SWOOP: Well, I might be able to bypass the signal.

RORY: Really?

SWOOP: I'm an emergency technician for NASA, I know what I'm doing. Come on!

Swoop runs out.

Scene 26: Comms Tower
Amy wriggles out of the rope.

AMY: You've shut down every satellite?

BAUXINT: We have studied this planet for a while. Your species is so dependent on your technology, you've lost what it means to be without it. We shall show you.

Bauxint coughs, and bends over to the controls

AMY: Are you ill?

BAUXINT: I can never be ill!

He falls over, weakly. They get back up.

BAUXINT: A component in the air filter…

AMY: What?

BAUXINT: Ach! Titanium dioxide!

AMY: What about it?

BAUXINT: It is harmful to me, the space station is made of titanium! It is reacting with the false oxygen you use to stay alive! I must evacuate the air.

AMY: But you'll suffocate, too.

BAUXINT: My spacesuit has a small oxygen tank. It'll last me for one human hour, I can complete my tasks up here.

Bauxint presses a few buttons. Amy looks at the controls, with a button labelled Siege. Bauxint looks to a button, and presses it down. Amy presses the other button simultaneously. They both hold their button down on either side of the controls. [Track 7]

BAUXINT: What are you doing?

AMY: I'm guessing this button, "siege", it'll filter all the oxygen in here. All of it. It'll poison you. What do you think? Are you going to risk it?

BAUXINT: Your friends will suffocate.

AMY: They'll suffocate anyway if you do this. At least they'll die for a good cause. I'm sure that whoever lets go first will have their plans cancelled out by the other. So what's the plan, Bauxint? Who'll let go first?

Bauxint growls.

Scene 27: ISS Control Room
They return from the generator room.

SOPHIE: We've got visual for the comms tower.

There is live CCTV footage of Amy and Bauxint.

RORY: Amy! Is there audio?

Sophie types into the keyboard.

AMY: (oc) You know that we won't stay here forever. One of us will let go eventually.

KEVIN: Look at that! She's holding onto the siege button!

RORY: What does that mean?

KEVIN: It's the oxygen filters, they'd all get rerouted to the Comms Tower. The doors all shut, but they can be easily opened. There's one in here too.

SOPHIE: Shush, listen!

BAUXINT: (oc) You understand that I can use my spacesuit. The titanium dioxide will not reach my bodily systems, I will not die.

AMY: (oc) Then why haven't you already?

BAUXINT: (oc) I wish to only use it as a last resource.

SOPHIE: He's allergic to titanium dioxide? Of course, this station is made from titanium, it must be affecting him!

KEVIN: So?

SWOOP: Oh! If we could administer a failure on his side of the controls, the siege button would function and he'd be poisoned.

RORY: But you said, rerouted, wouldn't that mean we'd lose our air?

SWOOP: If we can kill this alien, then it's worth a shot.

RORY: I guess so. Can you do it from here?

SWOOP: Easily, but we've got to be sure that this will work.

KEVIN: It's got to. If it doesn't, at least we died doing the right thing.

SWOOP: Alright, let's do this.

Swoop starts to type into the keyboard.

Scene 28: Comms Tower
They both keep their hands on the button.

AMY: So, what do you think? Do you think that you could keep your hand on the button longer than me?

Bauxint looks at his helmet in the corner.

AMY: What are you trying?

BAUXINT: I'm thinking that there wouldn't be major damage to my body if I was to fail.

AMY: Oh, you consider failure, do you? Why's that? Arm getting tired?

Bauxint suddenly coughs hard. He falls to the floor, as a rush of oxygen whirrs around the room. She looks around, and sees that Bauxint's side of the panel is no longer lit up. She puts her spacesuit helmet back on and runs out.

Scene 29: ISS Control Room
They watch the CCTV footage, and beam.

KEVIN: It worked!

SWOOP: I can't stop it. The only way for the siege mode to be switched off is for the engine or the filters to shut down.

RORY: Could you do that?

SWOOP: Not from here.

SOPHIE: Even if we could, it wouldn't matter because we can't. Either the ISS crashes or the oxygen won't be filtered properly and we'll choke to death.

RORY: Great. So there's no way out.

DOCTOR: (oc) Are you sure about that, Mr Pond?

[Track 8] They turn around. The Doctor is in the doorway.

DOCTOR: Thanks for bypassing that Bessan microchip. It allowed the TARDIS to lock on properly, who is providing an oxygen field. Hopefully this time it won't trap us here. Now, we're dealing with-

RORY: Ah, don't worry. It's been dealt with.

DOCTOR: Oh, good.

Amy runs in.

AMY: Doctor! Thank god, I thought you were all dead! We've got a problem.

DOCTOR: Problem?

AMY: That wasn't the only Bessan. There's a whole fleet about to invade Earth.

DOCTOR: Then let's head back to NASA and warn them.

SWOOP: There's no need for that, Doctor. We've taken back the International Space Station, we can warn them from here.

DOCTOR: Oh, of course. Well, then. Let's get on with it.

Scene 30: Space
Spaceships hang above Earth. Suddenly, missiles hit multiple of the spaceships.

Scene 31: Command Deck
A Bessan in royal garb looks around.

BAEL: What the- They've learnt of our attack! Their weapons are too powerful for our ships. We must retreat! Retreat immediately.

BAQIAO: Yes, my Lord.

Baqiao walks out.

Scene 32: NASA Mission Control
They cheer.

RANDY: They're retreating! They're retreating! That was close. Well done, Swoop. I'll activate the transmat for you to return to Earth.

SWOOP: (oc) Actually, there's a bit of cleaning up here to do. There might still be Bessan warriors on other satellites. I'll programme the transmat on this end to go find them.

RANDY: Of course. We'll send reinforcements as soon as possible. And I think some pay raise is in order, don't you?

SWOOP: (oc) Thank you.

Scene 33: ISS Control Room
They look up from the controls.

SWOOP: Oh, wait, Doctor? What about-

They look around. He's disappeared.

KEVIN: Where'd he go?

Scene 34: ISS Corridor
The three time travellers walk along.

AMY: Will they be alright?

DOCTOR: Of course they will, humans always are. Now, weren't we talking about adventure?

RORY: How can you still be bored?

DOCTOR: Who said anything about bored? I'm excited! How about I show you the ruins of the Exxilon city?

They walk into the TARDIS and it takes off. The dematerialisation echoes through the corridor.
