Scene 1: Hallway
[Track 1] A man walks through hurriedly. The walls creak and eerie whispers emerge.
MAN: Please! Let me go! Everyone else is gone now. Just me left. I want to go home!
A door opens.
MAN: What's through here? What do you want me to see? Have I been here before? It's so big, I don't even know any more.
A voice booms throughout the corridors. It is deep and distorted.
?: Enter.
The man walks through reluctantly.
Scene 2: Water Room
There are jets all over the ceiling. The man runs in and the door slams down behind him.
MAN: No, no, please! This is where you massacred them all!
?: I am very sorry for this, but I need the realism. I need to entice people in.
MAN: For what? Why?
?: My trap. I need a Doctor.
MAN: Please! I beg for mercy.
?: You should never beg for mercy. Do you know why?
MAN: Why?
?: Because it's very awkward when you get rejected.
Water floods in quickly. The man screams as the voice cackles.
Scene 3: TARDIS
The Doctor swings the scanner round.
DOCTOR: Asgard?
RIVER: The Bay Of Arshaad?
DOCTOR: Ooh, Arshaad! I like that idea! I fancy a picnic! What do you think, Ponds?
He starts to type co-ordinates into the TARDIS.
RORY: Fine by me, as long as this time there's no acid rain.
AMY: Seconded.
DOCTOR: Arshaad it is!
The Doctor lands the TARDIS.
DOCTOR: The Bay of Arshaad, 20,012! Now, outside those doors, Ponds, is the jewelled sea of beridyum
under the emerald clouds. Prepare yourselves for...
He runs to the door.
Scene 4: Front Garden
The Doctor opens the door.
DOCTOR: Paradise!
[Track 2] They look around. There is a rundown mansion with a large tower. The garden is unkempt and
overgrown. Rory puts on his green jacket over his orange buttoned shirt.
RORY: Right, and where's the emerald clouds?
The house is surrounded by fog. Amy walks to the gap in the hedge fencing, presumably leading to the
road. She reaches out, but the fog stops her.
AMY: Doctor!
The Doctor runs over and sonics it.
DOCTOR: Dimensional barrier. Interesting.
AMY: Come on, let's go. You promised us a picnic.
DOCTOR: Yeah, a picnic...
AMY: We're not staying here, are we?
DOCTOR: No, course not. You go back to the TARDIS, I'll have a quick look around. River, look after them.
The Doctor runs off.
AMY: River, look after him.
River runs after the Doctor.
Scene 5: Tower
A camera watches the Doctor and River looking around.
?: The lure has worked this time. It must have been because he had already landed but now...I shall be victorious.
The figure laughs evilly.
ROLL TITLES
Scene 6: TARDIS
[Track 3] Amy and Rory sit at the console. He's taken his coat off.
RORY: They've been gone a while.
AMY: Let's go find them.
RORY: Or, we can stay here. There's something not right about this, I don't like it.
AMY: On the scanner.
RORY: What are those?
AMY: Co-ordinates.
Amy flicks a switch. On the scanner is Arshaad. Suddenly, there is some interference, and the mansion
appears.
AMY: Something drew us away from Arshaad at the last second, but what?
RORY: Amy!
Rory looks scared.
AMY: What?
RORY: I thought I..There, there, there!
Rory points to a window in the mansion on the screen.
AMY: I don't see anything.
RORY: We should tell the Doctor.
AMY: Come on.
Amy starts to walk to the door.
RORY: I'll just get my coat.
Rory walks to the railing as Amy walks to the door.
AMY: Rory?
Amy tries the door. It's locked.
AMY: I can't open the door.
RORY: What?
A deep laugh emanates around the TARDIS.
AMY: Oh, no.
Scene 7: Haunted House Entrance
The Doctor and River smash through the blocked up doors.
DOCTOR: Now, what's in here?
RIVER: Something's wrong.
DOCTOR: Nah, come on. Up these stairs.
They walk up the stairs. The front door is boarded up again.
Scene 8: Haunted House Corridors
The Doctor and River walk through.
DOCTOR: So how's prison, Professor Song?
RIVER: Prison is prison. You know how it is. Awful food, bad Wi-Fi…
DOCTOR: Hm.
RIVER: But, you know, if you will go killing- uh...Where are we now?
DOCTOR: I know who you killed.
RIVER: Oh. And?
DOCTOR: I'm still here.
RIVER: I can see that.
DOCTOR: I'm interested in the Tower. If my geographical sense is correct, then…
The Doctor opens a door. There is a brick wall.
DOCTOR: Hmmm…
RIVER: Why would there be a door to nothing?
The Doctor shuts it and opens it again. There is a long corridor. They shrug and walk through. The door closes behind them. [Track 4]
DOCTOR: So, the layout changes. We could get lost in here for days.
RIVER: Let's get back to the TARDIS.
DOCTOR: Good idea.
They turn back and open the door. There is an untidy bedroom through the door they came through.
DOCTOR: Oh, dear…
Scene 9: TARDIS
Amy messes with the TARDIS controls.
AMY: Nothing. Someone's hijacked the TARDIS.
RORY: Who could do that?
AMY: Someone else who knows how to fly a TARDIS?
RORY: Perhaps another Time Lord?
AMY: I thought they were all dead.
RORY: The Doctor thought that the Corsair was alive once.
AMY: Yeah, but he wasn't. They were all dead.
RORY: So who could it be?
The TARDIS suddenly takes off.
RORY: Woah. We're moving.
AMY: We're leaving the Doctor and River behind!
RORY: Where are we going?
The TARDIS starts to materialise.
AMY: Scanner's down. I can't get it to work.
Scene 10: Tower
The TARDIS is surrounded in a column of light.
Scene 11: TARDIS
The door unlocks.
AMY: Should we go out?
RORY: It might be the Doctor.
AMY: It might not. This might be the TARDIS playing up again, like when we went to Ireland.
Amy walks to the door.
RORY: Wait!
Rory looks around and picks up River's gun, which she has left.
AMY: What are you doing?
RORY: Relax, I won't fire it.
AMY: ...Okay.
Scene 12: Tower
Amy and Rory exit the box.
AMY: Hello?
Lights turn on. A man walks out.
RORY: Who are you?
MASTER: I'm the Master. And you will obey me.
Scene 13: Haunted House Corridors
The Doctor and River run through.
DOCTOR: Let's try through here.
The Doctor opens a door, and a skeleton falls out.
RIVER: Oh! That's...unexpected.
DOCTOR: This means that we're the next in a long line of victims.
RIVER: To what?
DOCTOR: Back to the TARDIS.
The Doctor and River run along. He opens a door, and they are on the other side looking out, like two mirrors reflecting each other.
DOCTOR: What?
River walks on, tapping the Doctor in front on the shoulder.
RIVER: That's...weird.
The Doctor walks forward. The door slams shut, separating him from River.
DOCTOR: River! River! River, can you hear me?
He bangs on the door. He runs along, opening all the doors, only to return him to the same corridor that he is in.
DOCTOR: River!
Scene 14: Tower
[Track 5] The Master works at the controls.
DOCTOR: (oc) River! Where are you?
Rory stands, dazed and unresponsive. Amy tries to shake him.
AMY: Rory! Wake up! What have you done to him?
MASTER: Just a simple hypnosis trick. You're unaffected.
AMY: Not all of us can be hypnotised.
Amy takes the gun out of Rory's hand and aims it at the Master.
MASTER: Oh!
AMY: Let him go. Now.
MASTER: Go on, then. Why don't you fire it?
AMY: I will.
MASTER: Do it then.
AMY: Not until you let Rory go.
MASTER: Well, we'll be here for a long time, then. Tiresome girl. Grab her!
Rory holds onto Amy.
AMY: Oi, what are you doing? No!
The gun fires. The laser bolt hits the Master's legs, and he collapses.
MASTER: Agh!
Amy wrestles out of Rory's grip. She raises the gun once more - but this time at her husband.
AMY: I don't want to hurt you.
MASTER: Don't just stand there, kill her!
Rory walks forward.
AMY: No! Rory, it's me! Rory! Please!
Amy is cornered. Rory raises his arm. Suddenly-
RORY: No!
Rory backs away, his hands on his head, like he has a headache.
MASTER: No! Kill her! Kill her now! I am the Master! Obey me!
RORY: I...obey! NO!
Rory struggles under the Master's influence, collapsing to the floor.
RORY: Amy, get out of here! Get out!
Amy drops the gun and runs to the door. The Master gets up to the controls and presses a few buttons. As Amy opens the door, it opens to another brick wall. Rory goes limp, passing out.
MASTER: You really shouldn't have tried that.
The Master picks up River's gun.
AMY: Why are you doing this? What do you want?
MASTER: Death. Two more deaths will be the sufficient amount to break the programme and free me. I would've used the Doctor's regenerations, but his companions will do.
AMY: What programme? What are you talking about?
MASTER: This one, Mrs Pond. The one we are in. I summoned just enough residual energy for the Doctor's TARDIS to lock onto.
AMY: You...You brought us here!
The Master chuckles.
Scene 15: Haunted House Corridor
The Doctor runs along. He looks out a window into the front garden, where the TARDIS has disappeared.
DOCTOR: Oh! Where's the TARDIS?
The Doctor gets out the sonic.
DOCTOR: Let's try this.
He uses the sonic on one of the doors. A small vent
Scene 16: Tower
A blue light flashes and it starts beeping.
MASTER: What the-?
Rory wakes up.
MASTER: There's a glitch in the system - This is fantastic news!
He laughs maniacally.
MASTER: I only need one more death to free myself! Now, which one to choose?
He starts pointing between Amy and Rory.
MASTER: Eeny meeny meiney mo...Actually, you're the most annoying.
He shoots Amy. She falls to the floor.
RORY: No! Amy!
MASTER: And as for you, Rory Williams...I am the Master. You will obey me.
Scene 17: Bare Corridor
[Track 6] The Doctor walks through the bare metal corridors where the haunted house once was.
DOCTOR: Interesting. A simulation. Someone is controlling all of this. But who? There must be some sort of base code behind this, if I just…
The Doctor taps the wall. Four beeps respond.
DOCTOR: One, two, three, four. Familiar...
The Doctor rips off a panel, revealing a row of illuminated rods.
DOCTOR: Artron signatures. Enough of these, strong enough to attract a TARDIS. Who wants me here? Someone who has enough knowledge of a TARDIS and its...capabilities...No. No, it can't be. But he's...he should be dead! He should be dead! Amy. Amy! River! Rory!
Scene 18: Tower
The Master looks to the screen. The Doctor runs along. Rory drags Amy out.
MASTER: Looks like we've got a Doctor in the web. Let's say hello.
Scene 19: Bare Corridor
The Doctor walks along.
MASTER (oc): Doctor!
DOCTOR: Ah, good. I was just coming to talk. Whatever you've done with my friends, I want it to stop and I want them returned to me. We can talk about this.
Scene 20: Tower
MASTER: Friends? They're like babies compared to us. They're nothing.
DOCTOR (oc): To you.
Scene 21: Bare Corridor
The Doctor looks up.
DOCTOR: Master. Where are they? Tell me.
MASTER (oc): Well…
Scene 21: Torture Chamber
Rory straps Amy into a chair, with wires all around it.
MASTER (oc): Mrs Amelia Pond was shot, but it seems that you, naughty, biolocked River Song's gun.
Scene 22: Tower
The Master shakes his head.
MASTER: Stuck on stun. Wouldn't be worth it, anyway. You're the one I want.
DOCTOR (oc): Rory? River?
MASTER: Rory is under my control. Yet, River Song has eluded me. She always was a little...slippery.
DOCTOR (oc): You've met her before, then?
MASTER: A few times.
Scene 23: Bare Corridor
The Doctor looks stern.
DOCTOR: Give them back to me.
Scene 24: Tower
The Master turns away.
MASTER: No.
Scene 25: Bare Corridor
DOCTOR: Then I'll have to do it alone.
The Doctor sonics a door, opening back to the haunted house.
DOCTOR: I'll be back.
MASTER (oc): I know you will.
Scene 26: Tower
MASTER: You'll be back when I want you to be.
He spins back to the controls.
MASTER: Rory, Rory, Rory. Tell me. How well do you know River Song?
RORY: River Song is Melody Williams, or Melody Pond.
MASTER: Oh...Oh! Oh, that's ridiculous! You travel with your child, who is in love with the Doctor!
The Master laughs.
Scene 27: Haunted House Corridors
River runs through. Suddenly, a door forms in the wall at the end. She walks over to it and opens it.
Scene 28: Tower
[Track 7] River walks in.
MASTER: Hello, there.
RIVER: Hello.
MASTER: You've met me before.
RIVER: I don't think I have. After all, life as a time traveller is such hard work!
MASTER: No, you really have.
The Master walks over to River and grabs her hand, pressing it against his wrist.
RIVER: Double pulse. You're a Time Lord. But which one?
MASTER: You've met me many times, actually.
RIVER: Oh, I know who you are. What are you doing here, Master?
MASTER: What I'm always doing. Taking control.
RIVER: Of?
MASTER: Everything in my domain.
RIVER: Yes, your domain. This is a nice desktop.
MASTER: Well, I needed to entice the Doctor in somehow. Plus, I've had a very long time to work my ways into my punishment - I can do anything but escape.
RIVER: I'd suggest that you let us all go, or I'll have to do something rather unpleasant to you.
MASTER: Like what?
RIVER: Like…
River reaches for her gun holster, to find it empty. The Master smiles and holds up the gun.
MASTER: Looking for this?
RIVER: How did you get that?
MASTER: Your good friends Amy and Rory came over to me. Ah, speaking of.
Rory walks over.
MASTER: Is she secured?
RORY: Yes, Master.
RIVER: No!
MASTER: He is under my control.
RIVER: Rory, can you hear me?
MASTER: Don't try to break him. Hold her.
Rory grabs onto River.
RIVER: What is this place?
MASTER: A prison. When I returned to Gallifrey, my punishment for my crimes was a forced regeneration and for my mind to be trapped in this place. My body lies in my TARDIS - the only place I'd rest peacefully.
MASTER: Of course. Once I escape this place, I can do whatever I like. Speaking of…
The Master pulls a lever. The door to the water room opens.
RIVER: Oh? What's that?
MASTER: My way out.
Scene 29: Haunted House Corridors
The Doctor runs along. Suddenly, the floor breaks and he falls down into-
Scene 30: Basement
Spiders and rats scuttle away as the Doctor collapses onto the floor.
DOCTOR: Ow...Well, that's one way to travel, I suppose. What's down here?
The Doctor looks up. The light from the hole above is shining on a Weeping Angel. He jumps back.
DOCTOR: Ah! Okay.
The Doctor backs away, when he falls over a few boxes. He looks back up and the Weeping Angel is right over him.
DOCTOR: Hello, there! I seem to be in an awkward position and I can't move, please could you? No? Well, it was worth a try. I can't even move my leg. So, I guess this is it.
He shuts his eyes. Nothing.
DOCTOR: Is that it? Well, that's a bit rubbish isn't it? I don't think you're even real. Just a trick to scare me, intrigue- Oh. Of course. This whole place is a trap set by the Master. An adventure that will draw me in. But why?
He pushes against the Weeping Angel, eventually forcing it to fall to the floor and shatter.
DOCTOR: Sorry if I don't join you. Now, let's go.
The Doctor runs over to the basement door.
DOCTOR: He needs something from me - my TARDIS?
He takes out his sonic and reads it.
DOCTOR: Still here, so what is delaying him?
He opens the basement door.
Scene 31: Haunted House Corridors
The Doctor looks out of the basement door and then turns right.
DOCTOR: Perhaps…
A large bear-like creature turns the corner.
DOCTOR: Ooh, what if he's trapped and he needs me to let him go? That'd explain these things. They're not guards, they're deterrents. Visions to stop him from escaping. He doesn't need guards, this place is fully automated!
The creature starts to bound towards him.
DOCTOR: Ah, yes. Forgot about you.
The Doctor runs off.
Scene 32: Water Room
The Doctor runs in. The door locks behind him.
DOCTOR: What's this?
MASTER: The final problem. I have all of your friends. Amy, River, Rory…
DOCTOR: No...No!
MASTER: All you have to do is set them free is set me free from this Time Lord prison.
The roof stretches up to form a tower with stone steps.
MASTER: Glitch the system, break it, and free me. Or, if you die, this system will logically register it as my death, and completely close down, and everyone dies. Your choice. Oh, and this place is programmed to stop you from this. Now, shall we begin?
Water starts to flood in quickly. Almost immediately, the Doctor is ankle deep in water. He starts to bound up the stairs.
Scene 33: Tower
The Master jumps up and down excitedly.
MASTER: I knew he would! Bingo!
Scene 34: Water Room
The Doctor continues to run up the steps. Water has filled the room below, and is starting to climb the tower.
Scene 35: Torture Chamber
Amy awakes.
AMY: What's going on? Doctor? Rory?!
Scene 36: Tower
The Master looks over to the torture chamber in the adjoining room.
MASTER: Deal with your wife and give me your daughter.
Rory throws River over to the Master, who grips her and points the gun against her cheek.
RIVER: Agh! No! Get off me! Get off me!
MASTER: This is a bit dull, but at least it does the job of killing you.
Rory starts to walk towards Amy, but then twitches. He suddenly looks around, then walks over to the Master.
MASTER: I can remove the biolock easily- Well? Did you hear me? Do as I say!
RORY: No-one touches my family and gets away with it.
He punches the Master and pulls River behind him. He drops the gun.
RORY: Get Amy, quickly!
RIVER: Right!
River runs out. Rory picks up the gun.
MASTER: You won't shoot me.
RORY: Are you sure about that?
MASTER: Very sure.
Rory fires a shot into the Master's shoulder. He winces in pain, and the whole room rumbles.
Scene 37: Water Room
The room shakes, and the Doctor slips off the steps. He hangs onto it, and pulls himself back up.
Scene 38: Tower
The Master throws Rory an evil glare.
MASTER: That's why you won't kill me. Life is wired into this place. This computer has my mind trapped. If I die here, it shuts down. But I edited the programme. The next death, any death will do it. And we'll all die. You wouldn't kill me if it kills Mrs Pond.
Scene 39: Water Room
The Doctor reaches the top of the tower. A purple light is at the top. The Doctor unscrews it to reveal a bunch of wires. It sparks.
Scene 40: Tower
The room rumbles again. Amy and River run back in.
MASTER: Oh, it's starting!
AMY: What's going on?
MASTER: It's time for my release.
Scene 41: Water Room
The Doctor sticks the sonic into the circuit, and then reattaches the wires around it. He puts the light back on, which now glows a green colour.
Scene 42: Tower
The room glitches.
MASTER: Ooh, a neat trick there, Doc! Sonic loop disabling the firewalls! Well, it's time I said adieu. I'm off to my TARDIS. It has been fun though-
The Master disappears. The room starts to crash down around them.
RORY: Right. TARDIS, quickly!
They run into the TARDIS.
Scene 43: Water Room
The Doctor sees the whole room become pixelated. He falls off, about to hit the water.
Scene 44: Simulation
The Doctor lands in a room full of lines of code. The area glitches and the walls start to close in, deleting the code. The Doctor sees the TARDIS and sprints towards it. There is hardly any space left as he bursts through the doors.
Scene 45: TARDIS
He dashes up to the console.
DOCTOR: We're leaving now, now, now!
He takes off.
Scene 46: Simulation
The TARDIS dematerialises as the simulation stops, leading to nothing.
