ROLL TITLES

Scene 1: Pond House: Hall
The place is deserted. Cobwebs hang from the ceiling. The doors and windows are boarded up with rotting wooden planks. Mould grows on the walls. A loud noise breaks through the silence - someone is breaking through the door. As the dust settles, a familiar figure walks through - Rory. He's covered in dirt and mud. He sighs, looking around his old house. He hears something upstairs. [Track 1: The Daleks 0:00 - 1:04]

RORY: A-Amy?

He starts to edge up the wooden steps.

Scene 2: Pond House: Landing
Rory sneaks around, seeing one door ajar, the floor creaking slightly with each step. He peers inside.

Scene 3: Pond House: Bedroom
Rory sees Amy looking out the window.

RORY: Amy! You're okay!

They turn around. She stares at him and takes out her phone.

AMY: He's here.

RORY: Who-who are you calling?

AMY: The Daleks. You will be exterminated.

Amy raises her hand, and a Dalek gun comes out. She fires it, but he jumps out of the way and runs.

Scene 4: Pond House: Landing
Rory runs to the stairs, as more Daleks come out from each room.

Scene 5: Street
Rory looks out. He is surrounded.

RORY: What? No!

DALEKS: Exterminate!

They all fire.

Scene 6: Alcove
Rory wakes up. Amy has her fingers to her lips, and points to something. A small drone is hovering overhead. Rory stays silent and nods, scared. It flies towards them, and they both freeze. The drone emits a wide red beam, scanning Rory. There's a bang behind them, and an old man is running out of a house. The drone turns and flies towards it.

RORY: Why's he running?

AMY: Shh-

Two Time War Daleks follow the old man. Amy and Rory push themselves back onto the wall of the alcove.

RORY: We should help him.

AMY: We can't. We're so close to home.

The old man screams.

DALEK: Exterminate!

The Dalek fires its gun and the old man collapses to the floor quickly. They look down. [Track 1 ends]

AMY: The Doctor needs us. We can't risk anything.

RORY: If he's still alive. If he's not, we've got to help others and stop them ourselves.

AMY: We don't get along in this world by being nice. That's not how it works anymore.

Amy picks up her black handbag and bedding, and helps Rory up.

RORY: What's the time?

AMY: 3am.

RORY: How far?

AMY: Twenty miles. We'll be home in two days.

RORY: Then let's go before those Daleks come back.

Scene 7: Field
[Track 2: He Was There] The sun is now rising. Amy and Rory wade through a large open area full of wheat.

RORY: Are you sure we're going the right way? The map says-

AMY: I know what the map says. You have it upside-down, by the way. I know where I'm going. My friend Michelle used to live round here. Over there.

Amy points to a large metal building.

RORY: What's that?

AMY: Silo. There could be some supplies there. If it's not been raided already.

Amy walks on.

RORY: Speaking of Michelle, you think she's...

They are both silent.

AMY: I don't know. To be honest, I don't want to know.

RORY: When did you give up hope?

AMY: When did you have any? It's Daleks. Humans can't fight Daleks.

RORY: We have before.

AMY: The Doctor has before. And where's he been for the past six months?

Rory sighs and follows after her.

Scene 8: Silo Entrance
Amy and Rory see that the door is locked.

RORY: I'm surprised that the wheat has survived this long.

AMY: Good point.

RORY: Think you can open this?

Amy picks up a crowbar and breaks the lock.

AMY: Easy.

Amy pulls on the handle as the door slides to the right. She peers inside.

AMY: It's dark, you got a torch?

RORY: Naturally, I always carry a torch on me in case the world is invaded by Daleks.

AMY: Just a question.

They creep inside.

Scene 9: Silo
It is very dark. The only light is from the doorway.

AMY: I can't see anything.

The door suddenly slams shut and a faint oil lamp is lit. Civilians are holding rifles.

STEVE: Don't you move.

A mousy woman holds a small pocket knife and starts to walk towards them.

AMY: Oi, what are you doing? Get off!

STEVE: We need to make sure you're not a puppet.

The woman cuts a cross onto Amy's hand. Rory looks at her, his eyes wide and his breathing heavy. She starts to bleed and he exhales.

AMY: Did you really have to do that big a cut? That hurt!

ABBY: It's for accuracy.

AMY: Didn't seem that accurate to me. You got a plaster or anything?

ABBY: We keep our first aid reserves for those who need it.

AMY: I need it!

STEVE: Shh!

CHRIS: Now for the guy.

The woman approaches Rory. He tries to back away.

ABBY: Hold still or I'll mess up.

RORY: Oh, that's filling me with confidence!

CHRIS: Shut up! Do you want the Daleks to hear us?

Abby carves a similar cross into Rory's hand. Like Amy, he is rubbing the wound.

ABBY: They're both clean.

STEVE: What are you doing here?

AMY: Same reason as you. We've been abandoned, we're just trying to survive.

STEVE: We don't have enough for you to stay here.

AMY: We don't intend to. We just want some food.

CHRIS: We all do.

Amy and Rory see large families huddled in the back, scared or sleeping.

RORY: How many of you are there?

ABBY: What business is that of yours?

RORY: I just want to know.

CHRIS: ...Too many.

RORY: How long have you been here?

CHRIS: Two months. We were hiding out in the train stations, but they found us, annihilated everyone. We're all that's left.

RORY: That's horrible. The wheat, are you growing it?

CHRIS: We hope that's what we can use to eat, but we're running out of time.

RORY: Can we please just have something?

CHRIS: No. Not at all.

AMY: We're wasting our time here. Come on, Rory.

CHRIS: Please. Don't tell the Daleks we were here.

AMY: We won't.

Amy and Rory walk out.

CHRIS: Put that light out, quickly.

They blow out the oil lamp. As the room returns to darkness, there is a cracking sound.

Scene 10: Field
Amy looks back at the Silo.

RORY: You know, I forgot to ask. How did they get in there if it was locked from the outside?

AMY: That doesn't really matter now.

RORY: And…we didn't check-

There is a blast from within the Silo.

RORY: Oh my god, we need to help them! Quickly!

Rory starts to run towards the ruins, but Amy holds him back.

AMY: Wait! The Daleks will have seen that, we've got to go!

RORY: We can't let them burn!

AMY: We have to-

The civilians all walk out. Their hands have a Dalek gun and have a Dalek eyestalk poking out of their head.

RORY: Puppets. Run!

Amy and Rory dart through the field. A dozen Dalek Drones fly down.

DRONE: Priority targets acquired!

RORY: You've gotta be kidding.

Amy screams. The drones surround the perimeter of the field. An Eternal Dalek flies down. Instead of a weapon and sucker, there is a blade, spinning very quickly. The Eternal slowly approaches them, shredding the heads of the wheat.

AMY: You know what to do?

RORY: Not exactly!

AMY: Then keep going!

They see a gap and run. The Daleks fire, narrowly missing the Ponds as they dodge and duck. The Eternal Dalek's blade retracts inside it's machinery, and a bigger cannon replaces it. It fires a large flame, and the wheat starts to burn.

RORY: Watch out!

AMY: That's not helping!

They spin around and run in a different direction. An explosion causes Rory to fall to the floor, which Amy doesn't notice. After a few seconds, she looks and realises.

AMY: Rory? Rory! Rory, where are you?!

She sees the Daleks closing in. Panicking, she keeps running. Rory turns round to face the sky, his skin covered in mud and grass. A Drone Dalek is above him, staring down. He puts his hands up.

RORY: Please, don't shoot!

DRONE: You will stand! Stand!

Amy stumbles, noticing Rory in the Dalek's capture. She falls onto another Drone.

DRONE 2: Target 2 acquired!

AMY: No, please! Not now! No!

The Drone escorts Amy back to Rory and the other Daleks.

AMY: Rory? I'm scared.

ETERNAL: You are now prisoners of the Daleks. You shall address the Emperor and tell him everything he wants to know.

The Eternal suddenly blows up, and Amy and Rory fall back.

DRONE 3: Under attack! Under attack!

The Daleks turn to see around twenty humans, armed with Dalek weapons, firing.

DRONE: Reinforcements sent!

DRONE 2: Exterminate!

The Daleks start to fight back, killing some of the humans. Amy and Rory crawl away from the destruction.

AMY: Stay close, Rory!

The firing stops, and Amy looks up. The humans have destroyed all the Daleks. They run over to the couple. [Track 2 ends]

RORY: What were you saying yesterday about humans not fighting Daleks?

AMY: Thanks. You're the Resistance, right?

An old man walks over.

BENTON: That's correct. I'm Sergeant Major John Benton of the Unified Intelligence Task Force. Are you okay?

AMY: Just about. Husband?

RORY: No broken bones...I think.

AMY: UNIT? We've had a few run ins with you.

BENTON: I imagine so.

AMY: How did you find us?

BENTON: An old friend.

[Track 3: 36 Years] The Doctor runs over.

DOCTOR: Amy! Rory! Oh, am I glad to see you!

The Doctor hugs Amy and Rory, but she pushes away.

AMY: Where have you been?

DOCTOR: I couldn't contact you. The Daleks could've heard, so I had to find you myself. I've been recruiting with the Resistance. It's been a difficult job, but it had to be done.

AMY: We nearly died so many times!

The Doctor glances awkwardly at her.

AMY: Oh, who cares?

Amy and the Doctor hug tightly.

AMY: I thought I'd lost you forever.

DOCTOR: Nah, not your raggedy man. You'll never lose me.

AMY: You're right. How are you?

DOCTOR: Not bad. Well, in a Dalek controlled world, probably couldn't get worse, but aside from that.

Amy and the Doctor chuckle a bit.

RORY: But how did you find us?

DOCTOR: Artron energy. There aren't that many people on Earth with exposure to the time vortex, so I rigged a detector to find you. You've done so well on your own. I'm so proud. You shouldn't have had to, though. The Daleks were waiting above Earth for so long, planning the Elite Protocol. How could I have not seen this?

AMY: No-one did, don't beat yourself up about it!

[Track 3 ends] Benton clears his throat.

BENTON: Doctor? We'd better get a move on.

DOCTOR: Right. It's a long ride back to London.

BENTON: We can't get to London.

DOCTOR: What?

BENTON: The driver's just told me, we're out of petrol.

DOCTOR: We can't be!

BENTON: We need somewhere to stay before the Resistance can find us.

AMY: I might know somewhere.

She smiles perkily.

Scene 11: Pond House: Hallway
The door unlocks and Amy looks in.

AMY: All-clear.

Rory taps Amy on the shoulder.

RORY: Can I see your hand again?

AMY: I'm not a puppet, Rory.

RORY: I know, but still.

Amy raises her hand.

RORY: We checked the others, right?

AMY: They all have a cut. They're human. You check the garden, I'll go upstairs.

RORY: Okay.

[Track 4: Into The Asylum 0:00 - 1:52] Amy runs upstairs.

Scene 12: Garden
Rory scans the garden, then walks back inside.

Scene 13: Street
Rory walks out onto the street and gives a thumbs up. The Resistance fighters sneak towards the house.

Scene 14: Pond House: Hallway
Rory directs them all into the living room. Amy nods.

RORY: Good. They're having a meeting in the living room. We should tidy up a bit.

AMY: Good idea, I'll clean out the kitchen and you can do the cobwebs.

RORY: Are you still afraid of spiders?

AMY: What? No!

RORY: Well, I'm not doing them, I'll tidy upstairs.

Rory starts to climb the stairs, then faces Amy.

RORY: There are giant cobwebs upstairs, aren't there?

AMY: Yeah.

RORY: Thought so.

Scene 15: Pond House: Living Room
The Resistance are all sat down, some on the tables, some on the floors and some on the sofas and chairs.

DOCTOR: Careful, don't break the tables.

BENTON: We've got 16 hours to wait here until we can be picked up. At which point, we shall devise a strike team. Now what can your friends help with?

Amy walks in.

DOCTOR: Sabotage. Amy, you and Rory know the Daleks well, you've managed to avoid detection for six months. I need you to get into the Dalek ship and disable their shields.

AMY: How are we meant to do that?

DOCTOR: The capital ship is in London, where it all started. They're taking prisoners of special value inside, but we don't know what for. That way, you can get in.

AMY: Why can't you do this?

DOCTOR: Because I've got a mission of my own. I need to find the TARDIS and get up to a satellite in orbit.

AMY: What's there?

DOCTOR: I don't know, but they've had frequent contact with something up there.

AMY: How are you going to get on board without being found?

DOCTOR: It's me, I'll think of something. Sergeant. Major, Sergeant Major. I want you to come with me. Then get your best men to assist the Ponds.

BENTON: I'm on it already.

AMY: What am I supposed to do to take down the shields? And what happens if it all goes wrong?

DOCTOR: It won't go wrong, because we can't let it happen. The entirety of Earth depends on this working.

AMY: Great, no pressure then.

DOCTOR: You need to get to the main server. It's the most heavily guarded area in the ship, aside from the Emperor's Chambers. When you get there, you need to put this on the central console.

The Doctor hands Amy a device.

DOCTOR: This'll shut down their power reserve long enough for your reinforcements to get in and find the Emperor. Once I've found what's up there, I'll come back.

AMY: And what's the plan, then?

DOCTOR: Talk! Wing it. That should work.

AMY: Wing it. If this is what Earth is depending on, Earth really has not got high hopes.

BENTON: Troops, you know your mission. Alpha Squad, form up. Beta Squad, form up. Alpha, you'll be the reinforcements. I want you targeted surrounding the Capital in small clusters. You cannot be found. Beta, get to HQ and make sure that the Resistance stays intact. Are we ready?

DOCTOR: Almost. I've got to build up our mission too. I need the telegram machine. Everyone stay out of sight, don't attract any attention to yourselves.

The Doctor and Benton walk out. [Track 4 ends]

Scene 16: Street
The Doctor and Benton walk out of the house. Someone is hiding behind a tree, watching them carefully.

Scene 17: Cabinet War Room

[Track 5: Clockwork TARDIS] A woman walks along. The lights are dim, and there are a lot of busy people rushing about. Pan up to the woman's face - It's Kate Stewart. A middle-aged man walks up to him.

CHESTERTON: Kate, we've got an interception.

KATE: It works?

CHESTERTON: Thankfully, yes. Unless it's another stray.

KATE: Good work, Ian. How's Barbara's research going?

CHESTERTON: Not too well. There's never been a proper Dalek Invasion we can defeat without him.

KATE: Then let's hope this is the one.

Kate and Ian walk over to a machine. A telegram is on it. She reads it.

KATE: Co-ordinates, they're co-ordinates.

CHESTERTON: We need a map!

A UNIT soldier runs over with one. Jo Grant is beside them.

KATE: How do we know this isn't a trap?

JO: Can I see?

Kate passes Jo the telegram.

JO: I don't know about you, but I don't think Daleks can type.

KATE: How's the medical department? Many casualties?

CHESTERTON: Not since the attack on Parliament. Dr Jones has her hands full.

KATE: Well, we can bring in our scout. Get him.

The soldier nods.

Scene 18: Dungeon
The soldier walks down. He opens the gate.

SOLDIER: You're needed.

A topless man is on the floor.

It's Captain Jack.

Surrounding him are seven dead Daleks.

HARKNESS: I was starting to have some fun.

Captain Jack stands up and looks at the soldier.

HARKNESS: You know, if we weren't in an apocalypse, I'd have probably asked for your phone number. Then again, impending doom kinda makes it fun, don't ya think?

He chuckles, and grabs his white vest and blue buttoned shirt.

Scene 19: Cabinet War Room
Jack walks over, now fully dressed and wearing his long coat.

HARKNESS: What do you need this time? Without an energy source, my vortex manipulator won't stand much more.

KATE: How many more trips do you think it can take?

HARKNESS: Three at most.

KATE: I'm sorry to have to ask this, but there's not much else we can do

HARKNESS: What's the mission?

Kate looks at the map.

Scene 20: Field
The Doctor and Benton climb off the jeep next to the Silo, where a machine is whirring. They run. One of the dead puppets sits up and looks at them. [Track 5 ends]

Scene 21: Pond House: Basement
Amy opens the door and walks down.

AMY: Let's hope that there's something in-date down here. Even if there's some ice cream in the mini-fridge.

Amy walks towards a small fridge and opens it. It's empty.

AMY: What the-?

Amy is knocked over the head.

Scene 22: Pond House: Living Room
Rory walks in.

RORY: Who here is good with spiders?

RESISTANCE FIGHTER: Sshh!

The fighter is discreetly looking out of the curtain.

RORY: What is it?

RESISTANCE FIGHTER: Someone's watching us.

RORY: Really?

Rory goes to the window, but they pull him back.

RESISTANCE FIGHTER: Don't get seen! You're priority targets, remember? The Daleks probably have agents watching the house.

RORY: Then they'll have Daleks on the way already?

RESISTANCE FIGHTER: We can't stay much longer. Here come the Sergeant Major and the Doctor.

Rory runs to the door.

Scene 23: Pond House: Hallway
Rory opens the door for the pair as they run in.

RORY: Did anyone see you?

BENTON: Don't think so.

A laser blast hits the door frame. [Track 6: Dark Horde 2:40-3:49] Chris and five Time War Daleks start to walk towards the house.

DOCTOR: Nevermind!

Resistance fighters run out, armed. The Doctor grabs a mop.

Scene 24: Street
The Daleks move forward, shooting at the fighters. The Doctor throws the mop at the puppet, which he shoots and it blows up.

DOCTOR: Why did I think that would work?

They stop, and whip around.

DOCTOR: Wait, wait! What's he-

A flash of lightning appears before Jack teleports in.

HARKNESS: You missed me, right?

The Doctor grins.

DOCTOR: Ha.

Chris shoots Jack and he falls to the floor. His grin disappears.

DOCTOR: Of course.

They swirl back around and continues to approach the house.

DOCTOR: We need to get out of here, quickly! Where's Amy?

RORY: She went downstairs!

DOCTOR: Go get her and start going out the back!

Chris falls to the floor. Jack gets up.

HARKNESS: I'm not so easily beaten!

The Daleks shoot Jack again, and then look to their left. The Time Tyrant has a Dalek gun and fires at them.

DALEK: Priority target 4!

TIME TYRANT: You bet I am!

The Time Tyrant slides under their laser fire and shoots their eyestalks.

DALEKS: Vision impaired! I cannot see!

TIME TYRANT: Harkness! Gimme your gun!

The Time Tyrant realises that he is dead and runs over. The Daleks start to fire uncontrollably.

DOCTOR: Keep down!

The Time Tyrant picks up the gun, running back and lifting the helmet of each Dalek off to shoot the mutant inside. [Track 6 ends]

DOCTOR: Where did he come from?

BENTON: That was one of the puppets in the field. He must've-

DOCTOR: Not the Daleks. Him.

The Time Tyrant starts to walk over.

DOCTOR: Uh! Stay right there! What are you still doing here?

TIME TYRANT: The Daleks have stranded me on Earth. I've spent the last few months trying to take them down.

DOCTOR: So have we, so why haven't we met up again?

TIME TYRANT: You like to keep quiet. I have a lot more vocal ideas.

DOCTOR: There'll be backup soon.

TIME TYRANT: I'll hack into the Dalek's report system, tell them that you guys escaped.

DOCTOR: Why would you do that? Why should we trust you?

TIME TYRANT: Because I could very easily buy my freedom with all of your captures. As well as tell the Daleks that your Resistance is based in the Cabinet War Rooms.

DOCTOR: How do you know all this?

TIME TYRANT: I've been a busy man. Let me help you. I want to be free from this small world.

DOCTOR: Fine.

TIME TYRANT: Good. I have energy cells that can power your jeep to take you back to London.

Jack wakes up.

HARKNESS: Did I miss something?

[Track 7: Way Down We Go 0:00 - 1:05 (fadeout needed)] The Doctor frowns.

Scene 25: Field
Everyone is in jeeps. Benton looks at the Doctor.

BENTON: It's going to work.

DOCTOR: Everyone in?

TIME TYRANT: Let's hurry up and finish this then.

The Doctor walks over to Amy and Rory.

DOCTOR: We'll see each other soon.

AMY: Nothing's going to be the same ever again, is it?

DOCTOR: We'll stop them. Don't worry, you can do it.

RORY: I hope so. Good luck.

DOCTOR: You too.

The Doctor climbs the jeep. They both drive off.

Scene 26: Jeep 1
The Doctor stares agitatedly at the Time Tyrant. The jeep turns a corner as the Ponds' jeep keeps driving on.

Scene 27: Jeep 2
Amy watches the Doctor's jeep drive off. Rory holds her hand, and she rests her head on his shoulder.
