It was Christmas Eve and everyone at Scarlet was so happy but also so busy. It was supposed to have everything ready for the New Years Special Edition.

9 am

"Let's go guys, I know all we want is to go home, to be with the fam and all but I will need that extra effort. I'm trusting y'all to get this done before 7 pm , so we can go home. Otherwise all those days off I proposed are not going to happen. Let's do it team" – said Kat in what was supposed to be the last meeting with the team before the end of the year, in a very enthusiastic way. Trying to fist bump some of them and failing tremendously, with a smirk on her face.

"That went well" – Sutton said, laughing and shaking her head. "Sorry I'll never get used of seeing you as the Editor-In-Chief, I mean you're great at it I just…"

"What, Sutton. What?" Kat said rolling her eyes.
"You know, I also look at you so serious and professional and immediately think of our wild nights. It's pretty funny actually."

" I bet…"
"You have no idea the effort I make to not laught out loud sometimes… I really am such a good…" – promptly interrupted by Kat.

"…such a good friend, I know."

"WE KNOW!" – Jane arrived. Late. Hugging Sutton from behind.
"Oh it's little Jane!"

Sutton smiled. They were truly family.

"First you're late young girl. Second, where's my hug?" Kat was about to pout.

"Ohhhh don't pout Kat. You know I'm the little spoon to your.. what's really the saying?" Jane was wasn't sure about what she wanted to say while Sutton and Kat burst out laughing.

"Jane, I'm not sure Adena would find it funny for you to be any type of spoon for Kat… either way you can be a baby's spoon, is that ok?" Sutton said mocking Jane and winking at Kat.

"Girls it's Christmas can we take the height jokes lighter , please?" Jane replied, to what both Kat and Sutton agreed. Gently smiling.

"Jane, since you missed the pitch. All good with your article and the deadline being this afternoon?"

"Wait. Kat. I mean…"
"What it isn't done?"

"You know… as a writer…"

"Kat, it isn't done. Look at Jane's face. You look so cute cause you really can't lie." Sutton poked her.

"Sutton is right, you do look cute cause you really can't lie. But I will need you to have it done by today. Ok, Jane? I'm counting on you, my little spoon."

Jane was silent. She didn't have anything done. Not even a single word written. She was completely lost. And she knew the day would pass by in a blink of an eye.

So she just swallowed hard and nodded.

"Ok girls, I love you but I love Richard as well and I am going to go on a last shoot with Oliver before meeting my love for lunch. So I'm out of here!" Sutton said leaving the room. Not before coming back, leaning on and peeking at the door shouting "Peace out, bitches! Woooo it's Christmas."

"What's going on with her?" Jane asked.

"Sutton, Christmas… You know. It's supposed we spend Christmas together, all of us. Me, you, Sutton, Adena, Richard, Alex I think is coming too…still not sure, as well as any new Pinstripe in your life perhaps…, remember?"

"Oh yes… that's right." Jane seemed very distant.

"Girl, what's going on? You didn't even argued with the Pinstripe joke. Besides, it was supposed for you to be as excited for Christmas and the holidays as Brady is… I mean you're Jane. What's going on?"

"Nothing. You're right. I'm saving my enthusiasm for later. That's it! I have to go now. Writer's duties. I'm going to leave for a while…"

"…you just arrived, Jane."
"I know, Kat. But it has to do with my article."
"Ok, who am I to argue with the artist's methods? Remember I will need the article before the clock hits 7pm."

"Don't worry, you'll get it. As always." Jane replied upon hearing the warning. Kissing Kat and leaving in a hurry.

1 pm

"Jane do you want to have lunch? K." Jane read the text immediately turning off her phone.

3 pm

"Little Jane I'm starting to get worried about you. All good?" - Kat sent the message while realizing it wasn't delivered.

5 pm

"Baby it's not even about the article anymore, we are starting to get really worried about you, me and Kat. Please say something." – Sutton texted, frowning , visibly worried.

"Kat, fashion closet now!" To what they both agreed.
