The Hallowed Queen.

Chapter 1

What a dumpster fire, Anna thought. Wait, what's a dumpster? Never mind, it wasn't important.

What was important was that the events of the past three days looked like they were coming to an end. Three days ago, Anna attended her sister's coronation. Finally, she would get a chance to be reunited, and possibly even be able to talk to the girl who spent the last 13 years locked away from the world. Of course the joy of that reunion was short-lived. In what would go down as one of the worst judgment calls of the century, Anna decided to get engaged to Prince Hans and ask Elsa to bless the marriage.

When Elsa disagreed on roast beef and soup and did not bless the marriage, Anna decided to put her foot down and cause a showstopper of an argument in front of Europe's most important nobles and dignitaries.

It was at that moment that Arendelle would never be the same. Elsa apparently had magical powers and plunged everyone into an eternal winter. Anna had never felt more alone or scared. She spent the last three days searching all over the kingdom for her sister, fending off snow monsters, meeting new friends, and trying to make sense of everything that has happened.

As Anna walked back to the castle, her new friend Kristoff on her left, her sister on her right, a snowman tailing just behind them talking to a reindeer, she started to feel nervous. 'what happens now' she thought.

Anna could see the people of Arendelle all keeping their distance, but at the same time trying hard to catch a glimpse of the mysterious queen. Kristoff was extremely nervous of Elsa, scared perhaps. It was a stark contrast to the Kristoff who fearlessly fought off wolves, dodged falling ships, and jumped off a cliff trusting his useless snow anchor. Truthfully Anna was also nervous, she had no idea how things were going to go, what would she do with Kristoff, would she be able to have Elsa back as a sister. Her thinking was interrupted mid thought…

"Close the gates" Elsa said to the guards standing right next to the opening. "wait, what. Elsa! What are you doing?" Anna choked out; she couldn't believe her ears. Did her sister, who was just saved from a sword just tell the guards to shut the gates?

"Anna, we need to talk" Elsa said, "Alone, please." Anna knew that things didn't really go well the last time she refused, so she motioned Elsa over to a private area in the courtyard.

"Elsa, what are you doing?"

"You can't close the gates again, I cant live like this." Anna desperately pleaded with her sister.

"Anna…..I know you are probably hoping that we can keep the gates open and that things will change. But…that's impossible, things can't change." Elsa said.

"But why Elsa? This is completely ridiculous, please…. Please stop this" Anna's whole world was crashing down around her now.

"Elsa I know your, ahh…. I know you're a little different. I can't imagine what it must be like to have to walk through town knowing that you literally just froze it and almost everyone in it, but will get through it." Anna took a deep breath. "Elsa I learned some things about you when I visited the trolls, things that could help you."

"The Trolls" Elsa said as her eyes got large.

"Anna, I'm not discussing this with you here in the courtyard. Please, just trust me. Tell your friends that they need to go home. This is my decision." With that, Elsa turned and walked away and headed for the grand entrance of the Castle.

Anna was in a state of shock, this she did not expect. She would have to talk to her later as she was not getting though to her. She slowly walked back towards the gates to see her friends waiting.

"Kristoff, I really want to thank you for getting me home safely and for everything else you have done for me and my sister."

A small smile began on Kristoff face "It was nothing Anna." He said well looking at the floor.

Surprised by this Anna stomped her foot to get his attention "It was far from nothing Kristoff. You risked your life for this kingdom." She blushed and added "you risked your life for me, ill never forget it."

"None of this would have been possible if it weren't for you." She continued. "You got me safely up the mountain, you got us away from Elsa's snow monster, and when Elsa hit me with her powers, you got me to the trolls, and then you got me back home." Anna thought a moment longer before adding "you didn't need to do any of that."

Kristoff just stood their stunned, 'what would the boys back at the Ice Harvesting lake think of this'. He thought. "Well either way I'm just glad it all worked out." He said while scratching the back of his neck and fumbling with a loose button on his jacket.

Anna shyly looked up "Kristoff I just want you to know that I consider you a friend and hope to see you around."

"A Friend." Kristoff gasped. "You want to be my friend?"

"Of course I do" Anna replied.

"But you're the princess of Arendelle, I'm a nobody." Kristoff began to say but was cut off.

"Yes, I am the princess of Arendelle, but I already know that you don't care about that stuff, and Kristoff neither do I. Your my friend and theirs nothing anyone can do about it." Anna said with a slight laugh.

Kristoff smiled warmly "your welcome. Anyways Princess, I better be going, ill see you around, I guess." Anna hated letting Kristoff go but she knew she needed to go talk to her sister. She had to get the gates open. Their was no way that she was going to spend one second longer trapped in a castle like before, not after the adventure she just had.

"Kristoff, thanks again. I'll make sure to get your things replaced."

"Don't worry about it Anna, it was mostly just junk anyways." Kristoff said well moving his hands around in the air to make it appear as if it was not a big deal to just lose everything you ever owned.

"Well then it should be pretty easy to replace." Anna told him with a wide smile on her face and holding back a small giggle. "Bye Kristoff, Ill see you soon."

She watched Kristoff get let out by the castle guards through a small side door next to the gate. Kristoff stole one last look at his red-haired friend before turning around and leaving with his reindeer.

Anna made her way inside the castle to go look for her sister. She passed by many of the dignitaries who still lingered in the halls. She glanced inside the ballroom and saw members of the band collecting their instruments from the coronation. Time stood still during the impromptu winter, she thought.

Making her way up the stairs and into the quieter area of the castle, she finally came to Elsa's door, closing her eyes she already anticipated what the response would be if she knocked.

Fuck these doors, she thought.

Looking down at the carpet she thought about all the time in her short life that she already spent in this exact spot. Thinking that something was wrong with her sister, thinking she could be persuaded to come out and play. "Wow" she thought out loud. What a waste of time.

Clearing her head, she knocked on the door. She had a lot to talk about. "Elsa! You must let me in, please. Its important, I found out some things about us, about you."

She heard footsteps make their way to the door. It opened and Elsa stood there motioning her to come in.

Feeling relived that the door was opened she wasted no time. "Thanks Elsa, so this is what your room looks like, its nice I guess"

Elsa looked at her sister with loving eyes, a smirk playing on her lips, not sure if the comment from Anna was a small dig at the last 13 years.

"Anna, I hate this room, I hate that I have to be locked in this room, but I have to be. I'm not safe around people, theirs something is wrong with me."

Anna was about to jump in, but Elsa silenced her.

"Anna its not what you think, how do I explain…." Elsa thought carefully about what she was going to say next.

"Anna, I know you want the gates opened up and for us to be like we were before when we were kids. But I don't think that can happen." Elsa sadly said. "When I left my room to attend my coronation something strange started happening to me. The moment I enter the halls, I hear things in my head. I can feel the fear people have for me. But somehow in here, its quiet." Elsa's face started to look really concerned.

"I've always known I could manipulate ice and snow, never that well mind you. But when I left my room for my coronation, the moment I set foot in the halls I could hear what people were thinking, their problems, their concerns, their fears… I could do so much more then just control Ice Anna. The truth is that I'm scared."

Anna thought about this.

"Elsa, when Kristoff brought me to the Trolls," Elsa's eyes got a little bigger, "Trolls? Kristoff?"

Anna smiled. "Well Kristoff is a friend. You met him on the boat remember?... and the trolls are his adoptive family." Anna watched carefully how Elsa processed this information and then decided to carry on. "when you struck me with your powers, Kristoff thought that the trolls could help me. We walked into this big clearing and I thought he was crazy, and Olaf started to try and distract him so I could run away hahaha." Elsa just sat there looking at Anna, wondering what the hell went on during the last three days. "After Kristoff's mother Rock stopped checking out the structure of my teeth this old rock wheeled up and got very serious."

Elsa couldn't help but giggle at Anna describing the troll leader as Old Rock, she was curious to hear what he had to say, but she also remembered meeting Grand Pabbie the night she previously struck her sister. She was nervous to find out if Anna found out about that other event.

"Elsa, he explained everything,

0000

The rock trolls were all jumping up and down trying to slam together an impromptu wedding for their adopted son Kristoff when the old rock cleared a path right up to Anna.

After explaining about her heart being frozen and needing an act of true love to thaw it, he went on.

"child, the time has come to tell you what you have been missing all these years. Your sister is not what she appears to be."

Anna kind of felt a little insulted. "What do you mean by appears to be? She is just like me, well other than the ice stuff."

Grand Pabbie sighed "Anna, listen to me. Your parents did not have a child with magic by chance. Your parents were given a child, they were chosen. Elsa doesn't know it yet, but she is not human in that sense, she is a goddess who possesses unimaginable powers." Pabbie got even more serious and said, "we have always known, but the time has come to tell you and your sister the truth. Most of your sister's powers have not yet developed or showed themselves. But after the events of the last few days I fear they are starting too fully manifest. Even we do not know how powerful and how far reaching they will be, we can only hope Elsa is ready to handle it. You must help her Anna, help her control and accept her powers."

Anna just looked on in wonder, things started to click in her head. At least the ice magic made sense to some degree now. The talking snowman who stood beside Kristoff, the monster she created to whisk them out of her ice castle. Yup this Rock troll is on to something here.

"But how can I help, I hardly know my sister. I've been separated from her for most of my life."

Pabbie continued "Your parents, although nice and well-meaning people, did the worst job in raising you and your sister. We have been gifted a goddess to walk among us and your parents locked her away in a room for 13 years. Now the damage has been done and who knows if she will ever be able to control the divine gifts she has."

"If what your saying is true, how would my parents know how to deal with that, why didn't you help them before." Anna shouted, slightly upset about the assessment of her Parents child raising skills. "I also know that Elsa can and will control whatever powers she has."

The old rock gave her a funny look and motioned to the raging blizzard that was going on behind him just outside the valley "well for the sake of everyone I certainly hope your right." Pabbie continued "You must find your sister and explain what I have told you. She can unfreeze your heart, she can" and he gulped "she can do anything."

Anna struggled to take in all this information. Part of her was relieved that she was finally getting some answers, part of her thought it was cool that she had a sister with powers, but she also saw what everyone's reaction was when she exposed her powers at the ball. "Grand Pabbie, I'm worried for Elsa, A lot of powerful nobles, such as the Duke of Weselton saw Elsa's powers and I think they could hurt her."

Pabbie just smiled "my child, your sister can not be hurt physically, emotionally yes, but physically she is not able to be hurt, she is a goddess, immortal, all seeing, able to read and hear thoughts, able to control the weather and earths elements, able to heal and hurt, and who knows what else."

Pabbie looked serious and added, "Elsa's power will grow and keep growing. You need to find your sister and get her to remove the ice she put in your heart. Love will thaw, Anna. Make sure Elsa knows that love with thaw."

Elsa just looked blankly at Anna. "Anna, I think you need some rest. I understand what you're saying but those old rock trolls really don't always know what their talking about."

"well, let's just do an experiment then… Tell me what I'm thinking" Anna thought about something and closed her eyes and waited.

"Anna this is stupid."

"No, its not. Please, Elsa just try! Humor me."

Elsa rolled her eyes and concentrated on Anna, squinting her eyes and waiting for something to happen…

"See Anna, I told you, nothing happened."

"Elsa, I know I don't know everything, but I'm convinced that the rock troll knows what he's talking about when it comes to this stuff. They literally just sit there and roll out to have these exact conversations."

Anna took a deep breath "Elsa please just try again. They told me that I needed to help you, I don't want to let you down."

Elsa again decided it would be best to just humor her sister. She already felt bad about closing the gates, and she still did not know how she was going to explain that her plan was to never open them again. Suddenly, she felt sad for her sister and that's when it happened.

"Anna, I just saw!" Elsa said shocked and visibly unsettled.

"I saw and felt how helpless you felt when I told the guard to close the gate." Elsa looked down slightly embarrassed. "I could see how much faith you have in me."

"You mean it worked? Ah and of course I have faith in you Elsa, no matter what you are supposed to be, you're still always going to be my sister."

"Oh Anna it definitely worked, it looks like we have a lot of things to figure out then, don't we?"

"Oh yes we do." Anna confidently said. "But Elsa, please trust me, let me open the gates. We can't live like this anymore."

Taking a deep breath Elsa knew her sister was right. "Alright Anna, I agree. Open the gates, but I'm not leaving my room except for important queenly duties. I'm definitely not leaving the castle until I can fully figure out what is going on with me."

It was not the answer Anna was hoping for, but it was a start. "Thank you, Elsa, and don't worry, will get through this together. I have a feeling that things will work out."

Out in the castle halls, the Duke of Weselton was carefully making his way up to the residential quarters of the castle. He had heard that the Queen and Princess were up there, this might be his only chance. The Duke knew he had massively fucked up and it would only be a matter of time till his roll in queen Elsa's assassination attempt in the mountains would be discovered.

Together with his two guards, a couple fast acting poisoned darts, and a spring-loaded launcher, the Duke decided it was time to put a end to the queen and princess. He was hoping that the blame would be placed on someone who was not comfortable with the Queen having Ice magic. Surely their must be a few people in this dreadful place who would want the queen dead, he thought to himself.

He could hear the girls talking as he approached a large door that was left slightly open.

"Ah, the sisters think they got their happy ending." He whispered to his guards who were both grinning.

0000

"Elsa, no matter what you are or are becoming, I want you to know I love you. Thank you for opening your door to me." Anna said, holding back happy tears.

"I will never lock you out again, Anna. But please just give me time. I promise you I will do everything I can to get control and be a proper sister to you, and queen to Arendelle."

Suddenly the door swung fully open and the three men walked in. "Oh wouldn't that just be lovely," the Duke said. "Its just to bad neither of you will ever get that chance."

Before Anna or Elsa could do anything the Duke quickly grabbed his dart and fired it at Elsa.

"Ahhh," Elsa screamed as it hit her in the left arm. Stunned, she quickly looked at Anna. "Run Anna!"

"Elsa!" Anna screamed as she ran to her sister, sliding to a stop right beside her. "You stupid frog looking man!" Anna snapped at him. But the Dukes men quickly grabbed Anna and allowed the Duke time to reload.

"So sad the reunion had to end so fast. The poison should work fairly quickly and by the time they find you ill be boarding my ship." The duke quipped and all three man laughed.

"Elsa, help me!" came the cries of Anna who was seconds away from taking her own poisoned dart.

Still in a fog about what just transpired, Elsa looked over at her sister. She saw the laughing guards holding her back, well the Duke gleefully set up for the perfect shot. These were the same guards that tried to kill her just the other day in the Ice castle.

Slowly, the worry and panic that Elsa was holding on to since even before her coronation, turned into a blind rage. She looked at her sister, Anna, the only thing that she loved on this planet being toyed with. Being set up for the kill shot by the Duke and his thugs.

Elsa snapped.

Without warning the room's temperature dropped, a blinding flash of white light surrounded the Duke. He let out one last scream before his body simply disappeared. The Dart gun harmlessly fell to the floor and just like most of Weselton's tradable goods, it broke into a few pieces from the impact. In the spot where the Duke once stood, a frog happily hopped around.

Anna's jaw dropped.

The two guards that were holding Anna quickly released her backed away into the corner of the room. Elsa turned to look at them. "Is this what you wanted? Do you feel good when you threaten the life of an innocent girl who has done nothing to you?" She screamed.

Elsa raised her hand and ice shot out and encased the arms and legs of the men.

"ahhhh, my legs are on fire." One of the guards shouted. The ice was super cooled, and the pain was crippling. "Please, were sorry, please." The men begged. "The Duke made us do it, we never agreed with it."

Elsa didn't respond. The ice that was surrounding the mens legs started to twist and a loud snapping noise was heard.

"Elsa! Please stop." Anna was yelling at Elsa trying to get her to come back. "Elsa, please, its over."

Suddenly Elsa calmed down. She thawed the ice that still wrapped around the guard's legs. The moment the ice was gone both men collapse on the floor in agony. It was clear that both men had suffered clean breaks in both their legs. The warm air surrounding the frost-bitten flesh had both men screaming in pain.

"Elsa!" Anna yelled as she ran over to hug her sister. "You saved us, you…" Anna suddenly remembered the dart which was still lodged in Elsa's arm. "Elsa, you got hit by one of those darts." Worry and concern started to make its way onto Anna's face. "It was poisoned, wasn't it?"

Elsa quickly pulled the dart out. The little pin prick where the dart was pulled from, quickly healed over as if nothing had ever been there.

"Woah Elsa." Anna said. Anna was starting to fully grasp what the trolls were telling her. "Elsa, the duke, did he turn into a…. a frog."

"I don't know exactly what happened, I saw him getting ready to shoot you and I thought about you calling him a frog and it just sort of happened on its own. Oh god Anna, I turned a man into a frog."
