Chapter 4: Stacy

Nessie's POV

I woke up the next morning and got ready for school. Yesterday had not been as bad as bad as I had been expecting. Stacy and her friends had not shown up school. So I'd gotten one day of peace. I'd be stupid to believe that I would get lucky a second day in row.

The parking lot was already halfway full when we finally arrived. I still had a good ten minutes until the first bell rang. I was reading something on my phone when I tripped. I landed flat on my stomach. My books and papers flew all over the place

"Oops. Sorry loser," Stacy's voice penetraded through my head. "Maybe you should watch where you are going next time. Freak," she laughed.

I tried to avoid making eye contact with the girl. "What a freak," her best friend Amy said. They all walked away laughing.

A fewseconds later I heard footsteps approaching me. "Here let me help you," an unfamiliar voice offered. I grabbed the mysterious stranger's hand. Woah. His hand was scorching hot to the touch.

I looked at his face and was speechless by what I say. He was even better looking than Tom Ellis. Hotter than the devil himself. Impossible. Or so I'd thought. Holy hell and he was looking right at me!

"I'm Jacob,"

I was still speechless. He looked at me awaiting an answer.

"Renesmee," I eventually mumbled. "Err Nessie,"

He smiled and my heart melted. "Here let me help you get your stuff,"

"You must be new here," I said. In fact I was sure that he was new here.I definitely would have remembered seeing his face around here.

"I am. Today's my first day. You already met my family. The Cullens,"

"Oh? You're related to the Cullens?" There was zero family resemblance. I'd go as far as to say he was the polar opposite of the Cullens.

"Yes. I would've started yesterday but I missed my flight. So I had to start a day later than I planned. You know you're very beautiful Nessie,"

"You're hot. Hotter than the devil himself," heat flooded my cheeks as soon as the words had tumbled out of my mouth,"

"Hotter than the devil himself?" he looked like he was about to laugh.

"Sorry I'm kind of obsessed with this show on Netflix right now. Lucifer. Oh and now I'm babbling on like an idiot,"

"I don't think you're an idiot Nessie. I think you're a rather interesting girl who I'd love to get to know better. If you'd let me,"

I blushed. "Me? Why me?"

"Why not you?"

Oh maybe because girls like Stacy existed? That was it I realized. He hadn't seen Stacy and she hadn't seen him yet. That's why he was showing interest in me. Once he met her though he'd only have eyes for her. Just like all the other boys, and even some of the girls around here did.

"I have to get to class,"

"Ness-"

I walked past Jacob without saying another word. I walked as fast as I could to my first class without encountering Stacy or her friends. The rest of the morning passed by peacefully much to my relief.

By lunch time I'd begun to believe that maybe Stacy and her friends had ditched class for the rest of the day. I bought a cheeseburger, fries, and a Coke and went to sit down.

Across the room I could see the Cullen family, including Jacob, were all watching me. How weird. Or maybe I was just being paranoid. I was not interesting enough for people to watch me.

I took out and my iPad and began reading a book as I ate. I was halfway through the chapter when my iPad was suddenly snatched from my hands.

"What a nerd. Reading at lunch? How pathetic can you be?" It was Stacy of course. Flanking her right and left sides were Amy and Emily. Her best friends.

"Stacy give that back,"

She laughed. "The loser wants her iPad back. Well here," she slammed it on the table so hard that I heard the screen crack. "Oops,"

I took a deep breath.

"What are you going to cry? You're such a pathetic little loser. Nobody wants you around. Not even your parents wanted you around,"

I could feel my anger beginning to boil.

"I bet her parents just killed themselves to get away from her," Amy said. "I mean if I had to live with her for years I'd be suicidal to. It's only a matter of time before the rest of her siblings off themselves as well,"

"It's just to bad you weren't in the car with your parents when their car went over that bridge. The world would be so much better off without you in it. You pathetic loser," Stacy added.

"It's not too late to fix that. Why don't you just kill yourself already and get it over with?" Emily laughed. "Seriously nobody wants you here,"

Stacy backhanded me across the face and that's when I lost it. I managed to land one punch her to chest when Amy grabbed me and slammed me against the wall.

All around us I could hear people gathering and screaming "Fight! Fight! Fight!" I hit Amy. Then Emily pushed me. Stacy punched me in the stomach. I doubled over in pain. It was useless. They were much stronger than I was. One against three? I didn't stand a chance.

Attracted by all the commotion all the teachers and the principal had come running.

"What's going on here?!" Principal Baker shouted.

Stacy, Amy, and Emily all quickly pointed their fingers at me. "It was Renesmee sir," Stacy fake cried. "I just came up to talk to her and she started punching me. I was just defending myself,"

I was livid. "Sir I didn't-"

"Renesmee go to my office right now!"

"But I-"

"Now!" he shouted.

I picked up my bags and walked away afraid of what my fate was going to be.
