Epilogue
Tori:
It had been some time since I've last stepped foot on stage, and I'm anxious, to say the least.
I've been practicing the newest song André wrote together with him to perform on kickback night. It has been a chaotic past few months, and I had almost become too self-conscious to sing in front of an audience again, but the constant prodding from Jade helped tremendously. She insisted that I have to perform a song tonight to get used to singing to a crowd again.
When I stepped onto the mini stage above the Asphalt Cafe with my best friend and belted out the lyrics to the song, I could feel the familiar adrenaline rush in my veins, and was reminded of why I wanted to be a pop star in the first place. Jade stood watching from the audience, with a smile of such affection that it melted my heart.
"Even if we're the only ones dancing!" The cheering of the spectators below was wonderfully deafening as I screamed out the last line into the microphone. Laughing, André and I took a bow before clearing the stage for the next performers. As soon as I got back on ground level, I leaped into Jade's waiting arms, and she held me tightly, whispering "good job" in my ear before kissing my forehead.
A distinctly British accent spoke from behind me. "Tori Vega?"
I spun around to see a gray haired man in a black suit jacket over a light blue shirt standing behind me. He surprised me as he took me into a hug. "I'm Mason Thornesmith, and I've heard your demo from the other day."
Demo? I don't know what he's talking about, but his name sounded familiar.
"Mason Thornesmith? From Neutronium Records?"
He pointed both his index fingers at me. "How would you like to sing the opening act of this year's Platinum Music Awards?"
A/N: Thank you for joining me on this ride, once again. For allowing me to release some purgatory from my mind, since there are some things that just can't be erased. Please read some lovely fluff to cleanse your palate, like Jori holidays from IJ. Something that burns with joy and reeks of happiness. It'll help. Possibly.
I hoped you enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed writing this. Till next time.
