Rumi groaned in pain as moving rubble scraped against her skin. All she could hear was a dull ringing noise and it took her a second to remember where she was and what she was doing. A pair of rough but familiar hands grabbed her arms and pulled her free of the rubble, and Rumi finally looked up to see the bloodied and bruised face of Izuku.

"You look like hammered shit." Rumi laughed weakly as she slowly got to her feet.

"Same to you." Izuku replied with a relieved smile. "Are you able to walk?"

Nodding, Rumi winced as she felt a cracked rib scrape against itself as she straightened up. "So what the fuck happened? Last thing I heard was Oscar laughing."

Looking down at his bloody hands with a strange look on his face, Izuku spoke.

"I...I put an end to it."

Immediately understanding what Izuku meant, Rumi reached out and pulled her boyfriend into a tight hug. "Izuku you did what you had to do. I know that if you...I know he must not have given you any other choice."

Nodding slightly, Izuku let out a heavy sigh as he hugged back. "I just...he was a monster but...I can't help but feel sorry for him."

Rumi stroked Izuku's back as she spoke. "I know you had a complicated relationship with him, Izuku. It's okay, let's just move on and put this all behind us."

Leaning back slightly, Izuku pulled out the small datadrive and showed it to Rumi. "Oscar told me what was really going on. There is no time to explain the whole thing, but our top priority right now is to upload this data to the internet and send copies to every major news outlet."

Before Rumi could respond there was a rush of air and the sound of beating wings. Moments later, Hawks flew down the tunnel and landed nearby with a wary look on his face.

"Miruko what are you doing?" The winged hero asked suspiciously. "I thought you were going to capture him?"

Rolling her eyes, Rumi let go of Izuku and faced Hawks.

"It's a long story, but basically Izuku was being brainwashed." She said snippily. "He snapped out of it and came here to escape."

Obviously still suspicious, Hawks looked Izuku up and down. "How do you know he is not lying to you? He could just be trying to lure us into a trap."

Suddenly Izuku spoke up in an annoyed voice. "Well considering I had to kill Oscar to save my girlfriend I would say that is a good enough reason to believe me. Or do you want me to go and bring Oscar's head back as proof? Because that can be arranged."

Hawks' eyebrows arched in surprise as he coughed awkwardly. "Um...that won't be necessary. But that brings up another problem. We needed Oscar so we could interrogate him and figure out who is really pulling the strings behind recent events."

Izuku held up the datadrive for Hawks to see. "This has all the info you need. Turns out the Director of the Ministry of Defense is behind everything."

Hawks' jaw dropped in shock. "Are you sure?! If you are not lying, this is a worst case scenario."

Rumi watched worriedly as Izuku winced and tossed the datadrive to Hawks.

"I have a plan." Izuku said as he limped towards the tunnel exit. "But first we need to get out of here and regroup. I assume you took care of the rest of Zulu team?"

Hawks deftly caught the datadrive and nodded. "They were certainly better trained than the average goon I will give them that. I incapacitated my group and tied them up. Endeavor and Best Jeanist took care of the rest."

Rumi quickly caught up with Izuku and gave him a helping hand as he walked.

"We have a safehouse nearby." She offered helpfully. "We know the Ministry of Defense is monitoring our homes so we went underground. We can regroup there and figure out what to do."

Nodding in understanding, Izuku leaned against Rumi's shoulder as he walked. "Sounds good, I have a few calls to make."

The safehouse was nothing special. Just a crappy apartment located next to the city's industrial district. The constant rumble of heavy machinery, trains, and vehicles permeated the air while the smell of gasoline and oil seemed to be embedded in everything. While the safehouse did not have many creature comforts it had the bare necessities. The real benefit of the location was the sewer entrance in the building basement which allowed people to come and go unseen.

Inside the apartment, several of the country's top rated pro-heroes sat on chairs and couches as Izuku paced back and forth while he talked on the phone. Endeavor sat silently as he watched Izuku like a hawk, his facial flames flickering in time with his breathing. Hawks leaned against one of the apartment walls, his wings tucked behind him as he scrolled through his smartphone. Best Jeanist sat on a threadbare couch and idly played with a piece of string as he waited for the meeting to begin. Rumi sat in a chair near Izuku, her eyes constantly observing the other heroes in the room. It was clear to everyone that Rumi still did not completely trust her co-workers when it came to Izuku, but nobody wanted to antagonize the rabbit-eared hero so everyone simply minded their own business.

Finishing his call, Izuku put his smartphone in his pocket and turned to face the assembled pro-heroes. "Alright, everything is in place. Time to upload the data and see how the Director reacts."

As Hawks took the datadrive over to a laptop that was sitting on a table, Best Jeanist leaned forward with a concerned look on his face.

"Agent Midoriya, are you sure this is the best course of action?" The blonde hero asked honestly. "Wouldn't it be better to take this information to the authorities and have an official warrant issued for the director's arrest?"

Izuku shook his head. "The Director would cover the information up before it even got to the news. Right now our only option is to release the information to the general public and force the Director into a confrontation. There is no way he will be able to refute the sheer amount of evidence against him. This will also throw Japan's government into a state of disarray for a short time while they verify the authenticity of the information. That is when we strike."

Endeavor leaned forward slightly and regarded Izuku with a wary glare. "So you expect us to just stroll up to the Director's office and arrest him? He will definitely be protected by his own loyal cronies in addition to PLF members. Even if we disregarded the sheer amount of firepower the Director has access to, it is just us. We may be the strongest pro-heroes in the country but there is a limit to how much we can do. We need an army if we want to stand a chance."

Izuku smirked knowingly. "Like I said, I have a plan. I know you all are still suspicious of me, but all I ask is that you trust me with this. I promise it will all make sense eventually."

Endeavor looked like he was about to press the issue further, but eventually the fire-wielding hero relented and leaned back with an annoyed grunt.

"Alright, evidence has been uploaded." Hawks announced as pressed a few final keys on the laptop. "Now what Midoriya?"

Izuku winced slightly as he grabbed a medical kit laying on the table next to the laptop. "Now we wait. Give it a few minutes then we will make our move. In the meantime, I need to stitch myself up."

Rumi immediately stood up and helped Izuku to the small bathroom. Closing the door behind them, Izuku sagged against the sink as he let out a pained wheeze. He had been acting tough in front of the pro-heroes, but in reality he was in severe pain. The constant movement had only aggravated his injuries further, and Izuku knew he only had a limited amount of time before his body gave out.

"Shit, you don't look so good Izuku." Rumi muttered worriedly as she helped Izuku peel off his dirty shirt.

Izuku chuckled weakly. "And here I was thinking I was holding it all together pretty well."

Pulling bandages out of the medical kit, Rumi began to gently wrap the cloth around Izuku's torso. Sucking in a pained breath, Izuku gently stopped Rumi's hands with his own.

"Wrap it tighter." He said weakly. "It needs to keep things in place. Don't worry about hurting me, I can handle it."

Obviously uncomfortable with the prospect of hurting her boyfriend even more, Rumi gave Izuku a worried look.

"Are you sure?" She said softly.

Izuku nodded silently.

Taking a steadying breath, Rumi unwrapped the loose bandages and started over. Taking a long length of bandage, Rumi quickly wrapped the cloth tightly around Izuku's ribs. Biting his lip to silence his grunt of pain, Izuku squeezed his eyes shut and focused on blocking out the pain. Eventually, Rumi finished bandaging her boyfriend and inspected him with loving concern.

"Is it too tight?" She asked softly.

Straightening up, Izuku experimentally moved his arms and then shook his head. "No, it's just right. Thanks."

Izuku then sat down on the closed toilet seat, using the porcelain as an improvised chair to rest his aching bones. Rolling up his pants leg, Izuku exposed the hole in his thigh where the sharp metal had pierced him. "Hand me that needle and thread."

Like a nurse attending a surgeon, Rumi immediately retrieved the needle and thread and put it in Izuku's hands.

"Have you done this before?" Rumi asked worriedly as Izuku put the thread through the needle.

Nodding, Izuku sucked in a pained breath as he pierced his bloody skin with the needle. "Yeah, but never for something this bad before."

The two lovers were silent as Izuku quickly stitched his leg up, the small bathroom illuminated by a single bare bulb hanging from the ceiling. After putting the finishing touches on the stitches, Izuku wrapped his hands in gauze and bandages where the wire had cut a nasty gash into his palms. The grimy bathroom was not an ideal area for performing medical tasks, but Izuku could not be picky at the moment.

Finally finished patching himself up, Izuku leaned back and closed his eyes as he let out a heavy sigh. A moment later, the green-haired man felt Rumi's hands gently run through his messy hair. The two lovers did not need to say anything, both of them understanding that right now was the calm before the storm. Izuku then felt Rumi gently tilt his head back. Seconds later, the feeling of her warm lips against his own filled his brain with happy endorphins.

"I love you Izuku." Rumi whispered against her boyfriend's lips.

Smiling, Izuku reached up and gently caressed Rumi's cheek. "I love you too Rumi."

In comfortable silence the two soulmates simply held each other close, enjoying the momentary feeling of warmth and companionship.

Now all they had to do was wait.

Half an hour later, Rumi's sensitive hearing picked up the sound of approaching helicopters. Standing up from her seat next to Izuku, Rumi gave a quick glance to Hawks to confirm her suspicions. It seemed the winged hero was thinking the same thing, as he was already in the process of pulling out one of his feather swords.

Waking up from his nap on the nearby couch, Izuku languidly waved at Rumi and Hawks to get their attention.

"Relax guys, they are on our side." Slowly standing up, Izuku motioned for all the pro-heroes to follow him outside.

Trusting her boyfriend completely, Rumi followed Izuku down the apartment building stairwell and out the front door. Standing in the street, Rumi looked up to see a convoy of helicopters in the distance.

The sun was just starting to rise, and the dark sky was tinged with streaks of glowing orange sunlight. It was around 4am, and the air was just cold enough to make you want to put on a sweatshirt or light jacket. Loose leaves rustled nearby as a playful gust of wind wound its way down the street, and somewhere nearby a dog barked loudly.

Rumi noticed Endeavor, Hawks, and Best Jeanist come stand beside her as Izuku walked into the middle of the deserted street and waved his arms at the helicopters.

As the helicopters got closer, Rumi could see that they were not painted in the Ministry of Defense colors, but in the drab green of the JSDF army. The helicopters themselves were modified Blackhawks, a tried and true helicopter design that could function either as a transport vehicle or a heavily armed gunship. It seemed that out of the five helicopters in the convoy, two were gunships while the other three were transports.

Coming to a stop over the empty street, the three transport helicopters landed in perfect formation as the two gunships circled protectively overhead. One of the transport helicopters opened its sliding side door to reveal a stern-looking man dressed in an officer's uniform. On his shoulder were two small stars.

Motioning for the pro-heroes to follow him, Izuku climbed into the open helicopter and shook the two-star general's hand.

"Major General Miura." Izuku said loudly in greeting so he could be heard over the rotors of the helicopter. "Thank you for assisting us."

Sitting down on one of the seats in the helicopter, Rumi watched as the general closed the side door and signaled for the pilot to take off.

Surprisingly, the Major General laughed boisterously as he shook Izuku's hand. "No problem soldier! What kind of general would I be to deny a favor from the legendary Midoriya! Me and my boys owe you for saving our skins back in the day, it is the least I could do!"

At this point Rumi was no longer surprised by the fact that her boyfriend seemed to have all sorts of famous and influential friends who owed him outrageous favors.

"Is everything going as planned?" Izuku asked.

General Miura nodded and turned to face the assembled pro-heroes in front of him. "The operation to apprehend Director Fujikawa is a go. We en-route to the rendezvous point where we will meet with the main assault force. From there we will go straight to the Director's headquarters and take out anyone who tries to stop us."

Surprisingly, Endeavor was the first to speak. "It sounds like you already have the manpower to achieve your objective, why do you need us pro-heroes to come with you?"

General Miura glanced over at Izuku, obviously asking for permission for something. After he received a nod from Izuku, the Major General continued.

"Honestly? Because you pro-heroes need some good publicity." The stocky man said bluntly. "Let's not beat around the bush, with all the shit that has gone down recently the reputation of the pro-hero community is at an all time low. Like it or not, you pro-heroes are crucial to this nation's morale. You guys need to show the public you have not abandoned them. And what better way to do that than taking down a high-profile traitor?"

Grunting in an annoyed manner, Endeavor leaned back and crossed his arms. His question seemingly answered.

Rumi desperately wanted to hear the story behind Izuku's past heroic action, but restrained herself from blurting out anything embarrassing.

As they flew, Rumi noticed more and more military helicopters joining their formation. Eventually an entire squadron's worth of helicopters had joined the convoy. Grabbing a couple of radio headsets, Izuku passed them out to everyone before putting on his own.

"This is Bravo leader, Delta leader do you copy?" Izuku said into the open airwaves.

A few seconds later, another transport helicopter pulled up alongside Rumi's group. The second transport helicopter was a modified variant, its side doors taken off to open room for two door gunners operating menacing-looking minigun turrets. Rumi could see all the members of Delta team at the ready, when suddenly a familiar voice replied to Izuku.

"Uh...umm...Delta t-team leader copies." Uraraka squeaked nervously. "Agent Midoriya, why did you put me in charge of a whole team?!"

It was almost comical to see Uraraka's pink hero outfit clash with the black body armor of her team of hardened combat operatives as she leaned forward and waved awkwardly to Rumi.

"Because you have worked with Delta team before and I know you have the capability to be an outstanding leader." Izuku replied with a grin on his face.

Another transport helicopter pulled up alongside Rumi's helicopter, and it's sliding side doors opened to reveal several students from class 1-A as well as Eraserhead, Midnight, and Snipe.

"No fair Agent Midoriya!" Ashido yelled over the radio. "How come Ochako gets to be all badass while the rest of us stay with the class?"

Rumi snorted in amusement as Izuku replied with a grin.

"Because she has proven herself as Miruko's intern." Izuku stated matter-of-factly. "I did not have to invite you all you know."

Yaoyorozu grabbed the radio headset off Ashido's head and respectfully nodded to Izuku. "I apologize for my classmate's behavior." Yaoyorozu said respectfully. "Thank you for including us. We will not disappoint you."

"Yeah!" Kirishima said loudly. "Just you watch Agent Midoriya, we will show you just how good we are at taking down bad guys!"

Moving his arms robotically, Iida spoke loud enough to be heard over the radio. "Remember what Agent Midoriya taught us! Don't get carried away, and work together as a cohesive unit!"

As the students bickered amongst themselves, Rumi watched as more helicopters opened their doors to reveal squads of pro-heroes riding inside.

"You better not slack off Miruko!" Mt. Lady said haughtily into the radio. "I am coming for your spot and I want a good challenge!"

Suddenly a black Ministry of Defense scout helicopter rose to meet the squadron of helicopters, and for a second Rumi was prepared to see the aircraft go down in a hail of gunfire.

However, Rumi's frown was replaced by a smile as Miyu's voice filled the radio.

"Bravo Two reporting for duty." Miyu said with a fierce grin as she rode on the wing of the scout helicopter.

Dressed in her combat gear, Miyu was armed with a sleek battle rifle as well as a sawn-off double barreled shotgun. Riding with her were several other armed Ministry of Defense agents who had clearly chosen to remain loyal to their country and take the fight to the traitorous director.

"Viper is on station." The scout helicopter pilot said with a hint of teasing tone in his voice. "Ain't no way we are missing this party. Ready to engage on your signal Bravo Leader."

Smiling with pride, Rumi gave Izuku a confident nod.

It was finally time to get back into the fight.
