"Akechi, Goro" Professor Mcgonagall called.

Bitter and angry young Goro Akechi walked up to the Sorting Hat and sat on the provided chair, glaring at the entirety of the great hall.

"I see," The Sorting Hat commented. "You already have a goal in mind."

"What's it to you?!" Goro growled.

"Nothing, and I see you've made plans for this particular goal of yours."

"And what? You're going to say I shouldn't do them?" The embittered boy growled out another response.

"I can see you're dead set on your ambitions," The Sorting Hat hummed in content. "But plans and ambitions amount to nothing if you go about it the wrong way."

"What do yo-"

"Better be Slytherin!" The Sorting Hat announced to the great hall.

The students at the Slytherin table clapped as soon as they heard the announcement. It looked like they were eager to meet this new snake.

"Niijima, Makoto" Professor Mcgonagall called.

With determined confidence, Makoto approached the Sorting Hat. This was her first step to becoming an auror like her late father was.

"An auror eh?" The Sorting Hat commented.

"Is it wrong to have dreams?" Makoto questioned the Sorting Hat.

"No, it's not," The Sorting Hat replied negatively. "However, you're the first one to value knowledge when it comes to actions."

"Of course, no one has achieved their goal without knowledge."

"In that case, you'll fit into Ravenclaw!"

The Ravenclaw students clapped their hands as they welcomed another eagle in their midst.

"Okumura, Haru" Professor Mcgonagall called.

With poise and grace, young Haru approached the Sorting Hat with caution.

"Loyal, but ambitious," The Sorting hat commented.

"Is that bad?" Haru asked curiously.

"Not at all young girl," The hat denied the claim. "I must admit it's refreshing to see someone loyal but still be ambitious."

"Really? Aren't most Slytherins that way?"

"True, but most of them are only loyal to themselves."

"Is that so?"

"I say so, Slytherin!"

-September 1, 1992-

"Amamiya, Ren" Professor Mcgonagall called out.

Muggleborn Ren Amamiya gulped as he sat on the chair where the Sorting Hat was placed. He sincerely hoped he wasn't going to be placed in Slytherin.

"Not Slytherin huh?" The Sorting hat commented. "You're the second kid that chanted those words in two consecutive years."

"Can you blame me?" Ren fired back. "From what I've heard, no one at Slytherin would take kindly once they find out I'm muggleborn."

"I suppose not, kid, but that makes you even more qualified to be a Slytherin, you have a sense of self-preservation."

"I thought the people sorted into Slytherin were pureblood wizards, in case you forgot, I'm a muggleborn." Ren tried again.

"I don't forget boy," The Sorting Hat countered. "The mere fact that you're planning to lie low while here on Hogwarts says a lot about the qualities you value."

"Hufflepuff then, I'm lying low so that I won't cause any more trouble for my folks."

"You'll fit right in, Slytherin."

As the students at the Slytherin table clapped, Ren got up from the chair and tried not to show his dejected mood to everyone present as he walked towards the Slytherin table.

He'd need to hide his blood status too.

First, he'd need to thank the blond boy he shared a compartment with for warning him about the Hogwarts houses.

"Kitagawa, Yusuke" Professor Mcgonagall called another student.

Yusuke calmly walked towards the Sorting Hat. He was taking in the sights of Hogwarts's Great Hall and commit them to memory. He can't help but marvel at the aesthetic that the Great Hall provided.

"An eye for the aesthetics and architecture," The Sorting Hat commented.

"I had heard from others that this place appears to be some ruins for the non-magic people," Yusuke informed the entity. "I can definitely see how it would appear as such from the stone walls to a stone bridge."

"You're knowledgeable boy," The Sorting Hat praised.

"As an artist, I also have to consider the logic on the things I put in my canvass." Yusuke supplied. "However, I rather see something different in this place."

"In your house, you'll learn more," The Sorting Hat assured. "You best fit in Ravenclaw!"

Yusuke merely nodded and headed towards Ravenclaw's table as soon as the hat was removed from his head.

"Mona, Morgana" Professor Mcgonagall called out.

A young boy with black hair walked towards the Sorting Hat and prepared himself for the sorting. He had hoped that his mistress was the first one to be sorted but he was up first alphabetically.

"O-ho a cat animagus, and one so young." The Sorting Hat commented.

"It was accidental," Morgana huffed. "I did it to save Lady Anne."

"Well, I know the house especially for you."

"Wha-"

"Better be in Gryffindor!"

Morgana reluctantly approached the Gryffindor table, filled with students clapping and shouting in glee with his inclusion into their house.

"Sakamoto, Ryuji." Professor Mcgonagall called out.

Ryuji grinned as he walked up to the Sorting Hat. He had been as blind as anyone of the first years about how the sorting would go about, even asking Cedric, his surrogate older brother didn't get him the information he needed.

He does know that it was tradition for the first years to go in Hogwarts blind about how the sorting would go, or at least that was how Cedric explained it to him.

"Interesting, the drive to protect," The Sorting Hat commented.

"I'm protecting ma from that shit of a man," Ryuji stated proudly. "No one's going to touch her, not when I'm around."

"In that case, you'll fit in Hufflepuff!"

Ryuji grinned, which meant that he was in the same house as his surrogate older brother. He was practically skipping his way to the Hufflepuff table where Cedric immediately ruffled his dyed locks as soon as he arrived at where Cedric was seated.

"Takamaki, Anne." Professor Mcgonagall called out.

Anne gulped as soon as her name was called, but she stepped forward nonetheless.

"I see, I see," The Sorting Hat commented. "You also have a protective streak, but unlike others, yours is passionate to a degree."

"If you're talking about Morgana, I was not about to let him get hit by a falling pan that our clumsy cook accidentally shoved off the edge of the table." Anne huffed.

"That response alone has made me sure of your house."

"Wha-"

"You're good in Gryffindor!"

As Professor Mcgonagall removed the Sorting Hat off of Anne's head, she immediately scanned the Gryffindor table, and there she noted the gleeful look her servant's son, and childhood friend. She immediately ran towards Morgana and gave him a big hug.

"Looks like we're in the same house, Lady Anne."

"And I'm glad that we are, Morgana."

-September 1, 1993-

"Sakura, Futaba." Professor Mcgonagall called out.

Nervously, young Futaba approached the Sorting Hat. She hardly knew anything about magic, her strength lies in technology.

"Interesting, interesting indeed." The Sorting Hat commented.

"Wh-why do you say so?"

"By muggle standards, you're what they call a genius, and yet you're here."

"Not much of a choice," Futaba grumbled. "From what the professor who visited us stated, it'd cause more problems to Sojiro if I continue to attend non-magic schools."

"Indeed, that is true." The Sorting Hat agreed.

"So? Where would you put me? Can you speed it up, I don't really like people staring at me."

"Well then, it's Ravenclaw."
