Xxxx Roughly a year later xxxX
"Hokage-sama..." a timid voice called out from the entrance of Naruto's office.
"I'm busy" Naruto replied as he quickly went back to his task at hand.
"T-the Yondaime Mizukage is here to visit you" Rei, his assistant, continued in a meek voice.
"Tell her I'm busy with some important task and I'm unavailable for the rest of the day" Naruto replied without even looking up.
"The Mizukage is quite persistent, she won't leave without meeting you".
Naruto waved his hand, signalling her to go away and returned to what he was doing.
Rei sighed as she closed the door, 'He has left me no choice, I'll have to go get 'her' now'.
Few minutes passed since Rei's departure, following which Naruto's office doors were suddenly flung open and in entered a very pissed off Mikoto.
"You can't keep postponing your appointments like this!" she berated him as she walked closer to the table he was sitting across.
"I am the Hokage! I can do whatever the hell I want!" Naruto replied still busy with the task at hand.
"What was that?" Mikoto asked in a low voice, almost a whisper.
Naruto felt a sudden chill travel through his spine as he realised to whom he had just said that to.
"Aah, Mikoto honey! I didn't know you were visiting", He quickly got up from his chair and held her in a tight embrace hoping she would let his folly slide.
After several kisses and promises later, Mikoto finally seemed to have let the matter slide, for now, as she called in Rei and asked her to escort the Mizukage inside.
"Greetings Hokage-sama", Mizukage greeted as she entered the office and took a seat after she was offered, "I am Mei Terumi, The Yondaime Mizukage of Kirigakure" she introduced herself.
Mei was a tall, slender woman in her early twenties, around the same age as Naruto and Mikoto. She had green eyes, and ankle-length, auburn hair styled into a herringbone pattern at the back, a top-knot tied with a dark blue band, and four bangs at the front. Two bangs were short, with one covering her right eye, and two were long, crossing each other on her bust and just below her chin.
She wore a long-sleeved, dark blue dress that falls just below the knees. It seemed to be closed at the front with a zipper and was kept open on the front-right side from the waist down. The dress only covered up the upper part of her arms and the underside of her breasts. Underneath, she wore a mesh armour that covers slightly more of her upper body than her dress. She also wore a skirt in the same colour as her dress and, underneath those, mesh leggings reaching down over her knees. Around her waist, she wore a belt with a pouch attached to the back on the left along with high-heeled sandals, shin-guards reaching up over her knees, dark blue nail polish on her fingers and toes along with purple lipstick on her lips.
Naruto gave a small smile as he recalled Mei from his past, she was younger here than he remembered.
"To what do I owe the pleasure of your presence," Naruto asked, "I was quite busy with an important task at hand".
At the mention of the 'important task', a small giggle was heard from the crib beside his table.
Mikoto sighed as she went over and picked up the baby.
"Did daddy bring you over to play with you again?" Mikoto asked the baby in a sweet voice as she kissed his cheeks, The baby giggled again then proceeded to put the lock of hair fallen from Mikoto's face in his mouth, gently pulling the hair away, Mikoto put a pacifier in his mouth and started to gently rock him in her arms, "Even though daddy promised he won't bring you here during his working hours just to play with you" She finished as she gave Naruto a pointed look.
"I get it!" Naruto replied as he raised his arms in surrender, "I won't bring him here during my working hours".
"Does daddy promise?" Mikoto asked as she raised the baby so he could face Naruto, she knew he wouldn't lie while looking into both of their eyes.
Turning away from the baby and Mikoto before he made a promise he couldn't keep, Naruto quickly changed the subject and addressed the Mizukage, "Sorry for the wait," he apologised, "Please continue.."
Mei looked at the now laughing Mikoto and the uncomfortable looking Naruto with a strange expression.
"Apology is not necessary" she replied, "I too would spend my entire day playing with a baby if I could, especially if the baby is as cute as yours, he certainly resembles you a lot with his black hair and blue eyes".
Naruto gave an embarrassed laugh as he scratched the back of his head.
"Getting to the topic at hand" the Mizukage started, "I would like to request you to return the 7 swords you had taken during the battle of the Iron planes, Kirigakure plans on recreating the Seven Swordsmen of the mist but without those swords that is impossible".
"Sorry but that is not possible" Naruto replied as he shook his head, "I didn't take those swords just to give them back to you when you came asking for them, they are my property now and I don't plan on returning them".
"Kirigakure is ready to pay a substantial amount to get those swords back from Konoha, please reconsider the offer" Mei pleaded.
Naruto shook his head, "Those swords do not belong to Konoha, they are my personal weapons".
"Then, what would you like in exchange for them, as I mentioned before, Kirigakure is ready to pay for each of them" Mei insisted.
"I am married to the princesses of the 2 most prestigious clans of the elemental nations and I, myself am the leader of Konohagakure, money is not something that I lack," Naruto replied.
"Then how about a marriage contract-" Mei couldn't continue further as a rather loud cough and a menacing glare from Mikoto shut her up.
An awkward silence followed where Mikoto kept glaring daggers at the Mizukage.
Coughing in his hand to clear the awkwardness, Naruto continued "If that is all then I'll be taking my leave. Please enjoy your stay here".
With that Naruto stood up and took the baby from the still glaring Mikoto.
"Please wait" Mei pleaded, "If not the swords then at least give us back our Tailed beast. Without the 7 swords or the Biju, Kirigakure won't have any weapon to defend themselves".
"I am sorry but that is also not possible" Naruto shook his head as he started to play with the baby, "If you want to discuss any other business then please contact my secretary she will gladly help you with it"
Mei was at a loss for words as she didn't manage to get anything from the meet.
As he was headed towards the door while repeatedly asking the baby to call him 'dada', the baby finally looked up at him with his big blue eyes and repeated after him.
" Da...Da"
There was pin-drop silence as everyone, the hidden anbu included, waited with hitched breaths for the baby to repeat his words.
"Mikoto! did you hear that!" Naruto exclaimed with his brightest smile.
"Yes, dear!" Mikoto replied, her expression similar to that of Naruto.
"Itachi" Naruto called out again, "Say 'Dada'".
Baby Itachi giggled as he attempted to lick Naruto's nose.
"Say 'Dada'" Naruto repeated, his smile still intact.
Itachi blinked a few times in confusion then finally spoke "Da...Da".
Several Anbu stepped out from the shadows without their masks as to not scare the baby and immediately began to take pictures of the happy couple with their baby. They were given strict instructions from Sakumo, their commander and Baby Itachi's Godfather, to take as many pictures of the baby's 'firsts'( the walk, talk, crawl etc), as such, now most Anbu roamed around with pocket cameras just for an occasion like this.
" Itachi" Mikoto spoke softly as she took him from Naruto and instructed, " Say 'Mama'".
Immediately, the baby began to giggle and started to repeat after Mikoto "Mamamamama..."
"He spoke..." Mikoto started, her eyes moist with tears "My beautiful baby boy spoke his 1st words".
"Everyone!" Naruto addressed "You are all dismissed, take the rest of the day off and come to my house in the evening, bring everyone!. This calls for celebrations!" he announced.
"Rei!" He called out his assistant "Retrieve the swords and give them to the Mizukage, No one is leaving empty-handed tonight. Lady Mizukage it would be an honour if you decide to take part in the celebrations as well", with that he and several of the Anbu left with him though few stayed back to keep an eye on the Mizukage.
"Let's go" Rei informed as she guided the Mizukage.
"Is he always so excitable?" Mei asked, she certainly didn't think that it would be a few words from a baby that would grant her the swords.
"This is still mild..." Rei replied, "When master Itachi was born, Naruto-sama along with the entire Uchiha clan gifted everyone in the village entire boxes filled with sweets and clothes. That celebration lasted for an entire week, it would have stretched on longer if Lady Mikoto and Lady Kushina hadn't stopped him. Consider yourself lucky that you were present here at this exact moment else you would have never gotten the swords from him".
Mei seemed deep in thought as Rei presented her the swords, "Will you be attending the celebration as well?".
Mei shook her head "I didn't plan to stay overnight and I'm still needed at my village, so I'll be taking my leave soon".
Rei nodded and escorted the Mizukage outside the Hokage tower.
As Mei disappeared in the distance, Rie made a hand sign and 5 anbu suddenly emerged from the shadows, "Keep an eye on her and her subordinates, we don't want to have a similar situation like the last time."
"Hai, Uchiha-san" The anbu replied in chorus as they disappeared in the shadow.
Rei Uchiha was originally the personal assistant of Kagami Uchiha, the former head of the Uchiha clan. At Kagami's request, she had agreed to become a personal assistant to Naruto.
During the celebration of Itachi's birthday, several Iwa ninjas had infiltrated Konoha due to its reduced security, they had even managed to enter the clan compound with the intention of kidnapping the newborn baby.
It was only because of Rei that their plan was foiled, while everyone was busy with the celebrations, she along with a handful of the Uchiha clan members were ordered by Kagami himself to look after the baby and not partake in any celebrations. Though the other members didn't listen to the order and joined the party anyway but Rei didn't let the occasion of festivities get to her and remained vigilant because of which she was successfully able to stop the Iwa ninjas from even getting closer to the baby and even managed to hold them off till reinforcement arrived.
Mikoto and Kushina were informed of the incident but Naruto was kept in dark as according to Mikoto, 'he would burn down Iwagakure to the ground' if he learnt of their underhanded act.
Since then Kagami along with Sakumo, who was also informed of the incident, had set aside a couple of their most trusted ninjas to look after the baby in case Naruto again decided to throw the entire village a party.
These were the ninjas Rei had just commanded, even though Naruto had given everyone the day off, they along with a select few still remained vigilant and on duty.
The celebrations of the baby's first word continued without any incident till late into the night, with nearly everyone from the village present in the Uchiha clans compound to join the festivities.
Xxx The Next Morning xxX
"Uugh..." Naruto groaned as he raised his hands to block out the sunlight from his face, "Close the curtains!" he yelled as he closed his eyes, turned his face and buried it into the grass.
'Grass?' Naruto thought as he opened his eyes again. With some struggle, he finally managed to raise himself upright and take in his surroundings. He was in the Uchiha clan compound, that much he could tell since the clan symbol was plastered on every wall.
As he shakily got up on his feet, he realised his clothes were burned off, leaving him in only his black trousers which only reached till his knees since its bottom was burnt off as well.
As he took in his surroundings, he realised he wasn't the only one sleeping out in the open. There were countless other people laid on the ground nearby, some were his Uchiha clansmen, some were ninja's under his command, there were some villagers and merchants present as well.
'The fuck happened last night...' Naruto thought as he tried to remember what happened last night but soon gave up when he felt the migraine pulsating in his forehead.
"Finally up I see" someone spoke from behind him, startling him a bit.
"Kushina?" Naruto replied as he rubbed his eyes to elevate the burning sensation he was feeling, he then attempted to hug Kushina and pull her into a kiss. But, he was instantly pushed away as Kushina raised her hands to keep her distance from him.
"Don't try to kiss me with that stinky breath!" she admonished.
Naruto gave up trying to kiss her and settled in for a hug instead, "You smell so good..." Naruto moaned as he began licking her neck.
"That's enough!" Kushina exclaimed as Naruto tried to get handsy with her out in the open.
"Alright alright..." Naruto muttered as he raised his hands in surrender.
As he looked around a bit, he spotted Minato passed out in a nearby dump, a little bit away from him Jiraiya was also laying down peacefully in the gutter. Sakumo and Kagami were also passed out nearby with most of their facial hair and eyebrows burnt off. Before he could look around more, he heard a loud beep coming from behind him, startling him.
As the loud sound woke everyone up, Kushina continued speaking into the loudspeaker, "That's enough laying around, it's noon already. Go back to your houses. There are refreshments laid out at the entrance of our compound be sure to take them with you on your way out."
The loud announcement instantly woke everyone up, they groggily got up and did as they were told. Naruto quietly followed her inside their house and sat at the dining table.
"My head..." Naruto moaned as he rested his head on the table.
"Who told you to drink so much?" Mikoto chastised him as she bought him something to elevate the hangover.
Naruto just groaned as he drank the concoction given to him by Mikoto and moved towards their bedroom.
"Let's rest for a while" Naruto muttered as he tried to pull Mikoto in the bed with him but Mikoto quickly backed away and let him fall face-first into the bed alone.
"Kushina and I have to clear out our compound of any stranglers then clean it as well, you guys really made a mess out there last night."
Naruto hummed as he fell asleep.
Mikoto just sighed as she got to work.
Xxx In the Evening xxX
Naruto was woken by the sound of giggles and laughter. Groggily opening his eyes, he stood up and began stretching his body to get rid of the kinks accumulated during his slumber.
Walking into the dining room, his nose was hit with a delicious aroma, instantly making his mouth water.
"Dadadada" Itachi called out as he raised his arm in the air. He was currently playing in Kushina's lap.
Naruto instantly smiled and went about to pick up the baby but was stopped by Kushina as she turned the baby the other way and away from Naruto.
"Go and take a bath first" Kushina spoke as she held her nose close with her fingers, "You stink of alcohol and god knows what, no way you are holding him smelling like that".
Naruto deflated but still attempted to kiss the baby but a firm 'No' from Kushina made him give up that idea as well, he sighed deeply and walked towards the bathroom "Daddy will be back".
With his bath and dinner over, Naruto, Kushina, Mikoto and baby Itachi were currently in their bedroom with Naruto playing with Itachi while trying to teach him more words while Kushina and Mikoto were talking amongst themselves.
"I can't wait till this baby is born as well" Mikoto spoke as she gently laid a hand on Kushina's stomach, "Itachi will finally have a sibling to play with".
Kushina smiled as she too laid her hand on her belly "I can't wait either, I have already taught of several names for him".
"Him?" Mikoto asked, Kushina was only 3 months pregnant, it was impossible for them to know the sex of the baby so soon.
"I have a feeling that it would be a boy" Kushina replied still caressing her belly.
"It doesn't matter to me" Naruto announced as he overheard their conversation, "Be it a boy or a girl, I'll still love it with all my heart!", though he said that, Naruto was secretly hoping that the baby would be a girl.
Mikoto smiled in response, "Is Itachi asleep?" She asked as she made some space so Naruto could lay in between them.
"Yes," Naruto nodded, "The little guy passed out as soon as I laid him in the crib".
"But, It's still quite early for us to sleep, isn't it" Kushina whispered in his ear.
"What do you have in mind?" Naruto breathed out as he felt Mikoto's hand slide down his pants.
"Something that will keep you awake for the entire night" Mikoto whispered back as Kushina suddenly straddled him and began kissing while Mikoto removed his trousers.
These few chapters would mostly be containing several time skips so please bear with it.
