Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story, this one about Irregular at Magic High School. enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own IAMHS, Shosetsuka and a few others do.

Technology was a very fickle and interesting thing. It could be seen as the greatest culmination of years of progress…. Or be seen as one of the worst mistakes in history over and over.

That might be why Gin liked it so much. He found it so amusing and interesting to find out how everything worked. Gin found every new piece of technology to be a new facet of study. Something that he could spend hours putting work into understanding.

Then again? The currently 10-year-old boy had other concerns on his mind besides the mindless consumption of technology. He sighed and started to twist the screwdriver, tightening a bolt which caused him to look over his shoulder.

"Hmm…" Gin muttered to himself as he cracked a smile. His creation was a model of his families' home.

He liked living there as he found it enjoyable exploring it. then again? He was a kid, what exactly was he going to do for fun currently?

"Gin?" Gin heard which caused him to look over his shoulder again. "Oh, there you are, there." Gin heard his mother state as he rubbed at his eyes.

Gin watched his mother walk over to the table where he sat. Gin yawned and turned back to his cereal. He hummed once more and then swirled the spoon around in his food.

"You didn't get much sleep, did you?" Gin heard his mother question.

He shook his head and let out another yawn which caused him to sigh.

"You're never going to be able to work on your toys." Gin heard his mom state. "And you've barely touched your cereal." Gin heard his mother state as he hummed.

"I'm always tired, mom." Gin stated while he cracked his fingers. "And this cereal is fine, it's just the milk is bad." Gin stated as he swirled his spoon in the milk.

His mother said nothing and passed by him. She knew that her son would spend several hours awake. His mind always raced and thought about the next big creation. She didn't mind her son's mind going from thing to thing… But she did mind it interfering with him trying to sleep. You could do as much work as you wanted, but without sleep? You'd be too exhausted to even finish an essay.

It made her sigh and look at her son who was too busy trying to focus between his food and the model. He sighed and lowered his screwdriver for a moment. He was quite tired when she looked out over the rest of the table.

He was quite curious as she opened the refrigerator. He sighed and finished his cereal.

"Your never going to be a scientist if you keep staying up." His mother put in which caused Gin to put his head in his palm.

Gin stayed silent as he cleared the cereal from the table and carried his bowl over to the sink.

"It isn't easy to sleep." Gin replied as he rubbed at his eyes. "I thought you used to sleep in." Gin stated as he hummed and cracked a small smile.

Gin knew for a fact that his mother had the same issue which caused her to worry about him. She couldn't exactly do much other then try to get her son to sleep.

It made her sigh and walk towards the sink to do the dishes. Gin was about to say something when she turned and looked at him. Gin said nothing and simply continued to walk to his room. Gin cracked a smile and closed the door behind him.

Gin didn't want to make his mother angry at him… But she wasn't, more concerned about her son being hurt then anything. Gin wouldn't blame her for this. He laid in bed and started to yawn as he thought about what may happen next.

There were far more pressing issues to deal with at the moment. Gin wanted to build things, he wanted to help people and find out the finer things in life.

Gin was quite curious as to how his future would be… As much as a 10-year-old kid could think.

He didn't know that he'd be meeting someone cool and interesting soon.

Phew, first chapter done. I want to point out that next chapter will be delayed and such. Next chapter will be in 2-12 weeks and will show Gin meeting Subaru and such. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
