Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Two Inventors. enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own IAMHS, Shosetsuka and a few others do.

Gin didn't expect to see neighbors… Least new neighbors. The people who lived door seemed to look fancy enough. That brought several questions to his mind

As if by some hidden sense? The first person he saw exiting the moving vehicle? A girl with raven black hair and eyes as red as blood.

They burned into him as if the girl knew he would be there the entire time. Gin ducked under the curtains and pulled them shut.

"Oh, new neighbors are finally here!" Gin heard from his mother which made his eyes widen. "We should go meet them!" Gin's mother put in as he hummed.

Gin wanted to protest the idea. He wasn't much of a talker when it came to people. He knew that he would be freezing up upon talking to someone new. Gin would like nothing more than to barricade himself inside his room and then forget today existed.

That was before his mother was dragging the 10-year-old boy outside. Gin could do nothing other than protest the very notion. Gin knew his mother saw the girl who had stared at him. She would fawn over the duo which would make even the simplest of interactions with her scary.

Gin was let go as soon as he and his mother stepped outside. He couldn't do anything other than allow the girl to walk up to him… Even if he felt every electron inside his body firing all at once. His heart was busy beating like a drum up and down. it made him wonder exactly he could say.

"Hi, I saw you at the window!" The girl said as she looked at him with a tilted head. "I'm Mayumi! What's your name!?" Mayumi questioned which caused him to hum.

Gin looked at the ground, quite nervous and unwilling to speak for a few months. Gin sighed and was greeted by his mother speaking up for him.

"This is Gin, can you tell me where your parents are?" His mother said which caused him to glare at her with betrayal at this action.

Mayumi pointed at the truck which caused his mother to pat his head. Gin could say nothing as she passed him before he could interject which caused him to sigh mentally.

'Why does she insist on doing this every time she thinks I can make a new friend? Oh right, because she thinks I'll magically befriend someone.' Gin thought to himself as he raised his gaze to Mayumi.

She smiled brightly which caused him to blush as he wondered what to say once more. His thoughts were pulled to getting even a simple word past his lips.

"Uh… Hi?" Gin said after a second of hesitation which caused him to blush in pure embarrassment. He was quite embarrassed with himself if he was being truthful.

"Nice to meet you, Gin!" Mayumi said with a massive smile that Gin wondered if it was actually real. "It's nice to meet new friends… Well, I guess semi new now that we're actually talking." Mayumi said which caused Gin to blink as he hummed.

He knew that this talk was quite weird to him, but Mayumi seemed to make it weirder. It was like he knew he'd be meeting her today… But that seemed far more impossible than it actually was.

"Have we met before?" Gin questioned with a head tilt of his own. "I don't remember you if we did…. Then again? I don't remember a lot of people to be honest… Not to be rude." Gin said and brushed off his shirt.

That was an honest truth in his opinion. He didn't know who this person was, so he couldn't claim to be read up if they had met before.

Mayumi shook her head which confirmed the idea that the duo hadn't met before. The look of the gaze she gave him still made him wonder just who this was. Mayumi's smile hid something which made him want to figure out what it was.

Gin titled his head to the side. Mayumi continued to smile as he blinked once more.

"Your right, I do think we've met before." Gin said with a hum as he cracked a smile.

"Yeah, I know right?" Mayumi questioned as she smiled more and more. "So anyway, what are you like?" Mayumi asked as she looked to the side.

Gin tapped his fingers as he looked to the side as he looked once more. Gin cracked his fingers while slowly lowering his hands to the side as he hummed.

His mother looked at the duo with amusement. Gin clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth while tapping his fingers on the side of his pants. He was quite curious was going to wonder what would happen.

Mayumi smiled in return as she started to look to the side once more.

Phew, another chapter done! I want to point out that next chapter will be delayed in a few months or such. Next chapter will be in 2-4 months and will set up Mayumi and Gin bonding more along with also trying to set up their connection. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
