Invitation
It's been a month since the Power Rangers had their first two battles. They defeated the monster Gila on Tatooine and defeated the mutated Wampa monster using their Zords. All in one day, this was impressive work for the Power Rangers to accomplish. However, they knew things were only going to get much harder, especially if Damien is trying to kill them.
In order to prevent that, Zane has had the Rangers train every day so they can be ready. He knew Damien has some monsters ready to be unleashed and wants to make sure the Rangers are ready. Nathan has trained the Rangers for a month now and they have improved in just a short time. They have bonded well with their Zords and have learned to work together.
They will need to work as a team in order to defeat Damien, who seems to have disappeared. A month has passed since his last attack. Zane knew Damien was laying low until he was ready. The question for the Rangers is when he'll return and what he's planning.
Until they knew for sure what he's planning, all the Rangers could do is wait and train.
Coruscant
Jake is in the living room with his sister and friend Rick resting on the sofa. They are resting up after spending the day training with their father. For a month Nathan has been training the kids and has been pushing them. The kids know he is trying to help them, but every time they finish they are all left exhausted.
Lux is at his place resting and taking time off from work. Barriss wasn't as exhausted as her friends because of all the training she has been through to become a Jedi. So, she was able to return to the temple without drawing any kind of attention. For the others however, they would were so tired they couldn't move.
Alexis walks into the living room and sees the kids resting on the sofa. A small smile appears across her face as she approaches the young teenagers. "How are you all feeling? Did you have fun training?"
All three kids let out a loud disgruntle groan and spoke at the same time. "Nooooo."
The kids did not have fun training. They had to spar against Nathan, go through different kinds of battle simulations, and learn how to fight against strong opponents alone. They knew it was to prepare them for anything Damien has plan. However, they still wish that they didn't have to train for so many hours and so early.
Alexis lets out a small laugh and sits down on the sofa chair near the kids. "You should be thankful that your father has been going easy on you guys. If he wasn't then you three would be in bed all week."
The kids turn over towards Alexis with a shock expression. Nathan has been taking it easy on them? They couldn't believe it. If he wasn't then how would their training have really gone?
"You're father when he was young believed in staying in shape all the time," said Alexis. "He says it never hurts to be prepared and being on your guard."
"I guess that explains why dad was able to stay in the fight against those robots and Gila," said Jake recalling how well his dad did as the Green Ranger.
"Yep, he never stopped training," said Alexis as she gets up from her chair. "It's one of the many reasons why we still look so young."
"That is cool," said Rachel who is impressed and wonders if she does what her dad has done she'll look good too.
They then hear the doorbell ringing, but they were too tired to move.
"I'll get it," Alexis replied as she heads towards the door.
"I swear if it's your father I will jump off this building," said Rick fearing its Nathan at the door.
Rachel tries smacking Rick, but was too tired. "You're lucky I'm too tired to hit you or insult you…Jake do it for me."
Jake who wasn't as tired as his twin sister and friend hits Rick in the shoulder, causing the young man to let out a loud groan.
"What was that for?" Rick asked holding his shoulder.
"If it was our father, why would he ring the doorbell?" Jake asked bringing up a good point.
"I'm too tired to think," Rick replied as he lies down on the sofa.
"Jake, you have a guest," said Alexis as she brings Ahsoka into the room.
Jake despite being sore finds the strength to quickly stand up. "Ahsoka, hey what are you doing here?"
Ahsoka was about to respond when she sees Rick and Rachel on the couch. "Are they okay?"
Jake turns towards his sister and friend who let out another groan. "Oh, yeah their fine, don't worry. They're just a little tired."
"I see," Ahsoka then remembers Jake asked her a question. "Sorry, I just came to see if you and your family would like to go to Naboo with me."
"Naboo?" Jake asked.
Ahsoka nods her head. "Senator Amidala invited me and my master to Naboo for a festival. Its tomorrow, but she asked me if you guys wanted to come since you guys are leaving."
It was true. Alexis finished her work with the senate and her family would move back to their home of Almora. She knew her kids didn't want to leave, especially Jake. He wanted to spend more time with Ahsoka, which Alexis wanted to happen.
"Sure, we can go," said Alexis agreeing to go. "It will be fun and it has been a long time since I've been to Naboo."
"Great, well I'll see you guys later then," before Ahsoka could leave Jake approached her.
"Ahsoka," she turns around and faced the young man. "I was wondering um, would you like to get something to eat? I mean if you want to or not."
Ahsoka thought about it for a moment and gave her answer. "Sure, I know a good place we can eat."
A small smile appears on Jake's face. "Cool, I'll see you later then."
Ahsoka nods her head and takes off. As soon as she left Rachel and Rick began making kissing noises. Jake rolls his eyes then pushes his sister and friend off the couch. They fall on the floor and let out a painful groan.
"Jake," said Alexis in a stern tone.
"Sorry mom," apologized Jake as he goes to help his sister and friend. "By the way, where is dad?"
"He went to go talk to Padme," Alexis replied as she goes to the kitchen. "He won't be long."
Senate building
"Thank you for meeting me Nathan," says Padme as she walks down the halls of the building with her Godfather. "I'm sorry if I interrupted anything."
"It's okay Padme," Nathan replied reassuring all is okay. "I was just resting after training my kids and their friends."
Padme lets out a small laugh. "I assume one of their friends is Lux Bonteri?"
Nathan shrugs his shoulders. "Maybe, I'm just glad the kid isn't like those other spoiled teenagers who have parents that don't let them fight, train, or do anything fun."
Padme nods in agreement. "Lux's father taught him how to fight and defend himself in case something happens. I doubt he'd never imagine it would involve both his parents being killed."
Nathan lets out a sad sigh when he remembered Lux is an orphan. He is legally able to take care of himself, but still.
"I wanted to say thank you," Padme sees Nathan looks confused, so she explains what she meant. "Ever since what happened to his mother and his friend on Onderon, things haven't gone well for Lux. But then, I've noticed a change in him. I have noticed it the more time he spends with the others."
"A change you say?" Nathan asked. "A good one I hope."
Padme nods her head and continues. "He has friends, he has family that looks out for him, and he looks happy. I owe you a lot for what you've done."
Nathan smiles happily at the young senator. "You don't need to thank us. We're glad to have been able to help Lux. He's a good kid and my daughter seems to like him."
"Let me guess, your wife is matching those two up?" Padme asked guessing that's what her friend is doing.
Nathan shrugs his shoulders. "I don't ask and tell. That's how I've been able to survive with her as my wife."
Padme giggles guessing it isn't easy marrying Alexis. "Anyways, just take it easy on Lux when you train him. He's still young."
"I know," Nathan replied as the two stop walking. "I just want him to be ready for whatever the galaxy throws at him."
"I doubt he's learning anything," the two look over and see Admiral Tarkin approaching them. "Especially coming from a man who is married to a traitor."
"Tarkin, well it's been a while," said Nathan as he greets the Admiral. "I see you're still the same stuck up little ass-kisser I remember when I first got here."
Tarkin ignores the insults and replies. "That's Admiral Tarkin and I see you haven't changed much. Still the disrespectful and immature man I met years ago."
"Awwww you remember me," Nathan replied who unlike Tarkin was not affected by what he said. "I see years of kissing ass didn't change your boring attitude and your sense of humor."
Again, Tarkin does not let the insults get to him and responds. "Why am I not surprise to know you still show no respect towards anyone? You are a disgrace to your father. I shudder to think how you and your traitorous wife raise your children."
Nathan again was not fazed and retaliates. "My father died proudly of my decisions and we raise our children just fine. I only show respect towards those who earned it and didn't get where they are by being the Chancellor's personal little bi-…"
"Nathan!" Padme interrupts her friend before he says anything. "I apologize, Admiral Tarkin."
"No need my dear," Tarkin turns towards Nathan. "It's not his fault that he acts this way. I blame his wife who is like him. Both disrespectful and are traitors. I feel bad for their children who will grow up to be delinquents like their parents."
That did not sit well with Padme. She ignored the insults from Tarkin since her Godfather was handling it. She was even going to let Nathan finish what he was going to call Tarkin, but stopped him out of fear he might get in trouble. But, when Tarkin insults the people who to her are her family that is when he goes too far.
"They aren't traitors Tarkin. They are good people and are doing what is right for their people. If you have a problem with it then why don't you go with the rest of the senators and complain? Because I won't stand by and let you continue insulting them."
This surprised Tarkin and Nathan, especially Nathan. He didn't expect Padme to talk back to someone like Tarkin. It almost brought a tear to Nathan's eyes on how proud he is of Padme.
"Now if you have no more business with us Tarkin, then I suggest you leave," said Padme in a stern and serious tone.
Tarkin was about to say something, but he knew it was not worth it. He turns around and walks off.
Once he was gone Nathan gives Padme a small applauds. "Damn girl, where did that come from?"
Padme lets out a small sigh. "I don't know. I guess I got sick and tired of all the things I've heard people call you and your family."
Nathan wraps his arm around Padme's shoulder. "I think Alexis would be proud of you and for standing up for us, thanks."
A small smile appears on Padme's face and nods. "You're welcome…just don't mention this to your kids, okay?"
"My lips are sealed," the two adults then see Anakin approaching them. "Hello Master Skywalker, is there something you need?"
"The chancellor wants to speak with Senator Amidala about the trip," Anakin responds as he turns towards Padme. "I take it you told your friend here about that?"
Padme nods her head. "Yes and he said he'll be coming with us."
"And I can't wait for the festival to begin," said Nathan who was looking forward to the trip. "It has been years since we've been to Naboo. I hope a lot hasn't changed."
"Not a lot has changed," Padme responds. "However, we have gotten along with the Gungan."
"Nice," said Nathan happy that both the people and Gungans are not at each other's throats. "This should be fun."
"I'm sure," he turns back towards Padme. "Shall we get going?"
Padme nods and turns towards Nathan. "Can we talk later?"
Nathan nods his head. "Sure, we'll see you later for dinner."
He kisses Padme on the cheek and takes off. Padme turns towards Anakin, who looks a little mad.
"Its how they say goodbye and hello to their friends and family back on Almora," Padme explained so her husband would not get upset. "Don't worry about it.
"I don't like it," Anakin responds who didn't like anyone kissing his wife.
"Relax, he's family," said Padme trying to calm Anakin down. "Now, come on let's go see what the chancellor wants."
Anakin lets out a frustrated sigh. "Fine."
Jedi Temple
Barriss finished meditating and is now heading to get something to eat. Despite being sore, she felt good. In fact it has been a long time since she has felt relaxed and in peace. Ever since she met the others and became a Power Ranger she has felt a change. It felt like a small change in her, which she has never felt before.
She wonders if it has anything to do with the fact that she became a Power Ranger, the fact that the Jedi council hasn't send her on any mission, or the fact that when she is with the others she feels no restraints. She wanted to talk to her old master about this, but she feared that if she did those feelings would go away.
She didn't want them to go away. She wanted them to stay and she wanted to see where they take her.
"Barriss," she looks over and sees her friend Ahsoka approaching her. "There you are. I haven't seen you in weeks. Where have you been?"
Barriss got a little nervous, but kept her cool. "Sorry, I've been busy helping Master Yoda with some things."
"Oh, okay well I'm glad to see you again," said Ahsoka who is happy to have found her best friend. "It feels like forever since we've last talk."
Barriss nods in agreement and began to feel a little guilty. Along with Lux, Barriss have been keeping their secret about being Power Rangers from their friends. One of them is Ahsoka, who they knew could be trusted with their secret. However, they knew why they had to keep their secret from her.
Zane explained that if Damien knew about them, he would do everything to hurt them. He would even hurt Ahsoka if it's to get to them. That was a risk they couldn't take. She doesn't want to imagine what Damien would do to get what he wants from her friend.
"So," began Ahsoka. "Are you planning on coming with us to Naboo?"
"For the festival, right?" Barriss asked.
Barriss recalls Luminara telling her about the Queen of Naboo holding a festival to celebrate the liberation of Naboo. She knew Skywalker and Kenobi were invited since they were among the heroes who helped save Naboo.
"That's right," Ahsoka responds. "Senator Nite is going too, along with her family."
"Oh, well I'll ask the council if I can go too," said Barriss who wanted to go to spend some more time with her friends and be there in case there's trouble. "Is Lux…I mean Senator Bonteri coming too?"
Ahsoka nods her head. "Yeah, I thought he shouldn't come since he looked tired. He reassured me he was fine and could come along."
"Great," said Barriss glad the whole team will stay together in case there's trouble. "So, when do we leave?"
"Tomorrow," Ahsoka responds. "I'm going later to get some lunch with Jake."
"You're going to lunch with Jake?" Barriss asked who was a little surprised by what her friend said. "Is your master okay with that?"
"Well," Ahsoka actually had a different idea about that. "I was actually thinking of not telling him and hope he doesn't find out."
Barriss was now more surprised about what her friend is doing. "Ahsoka, you shouldn't keep this a secret from him. If he finds out he might get upset."
"I know," Ahsoka responds who agrees with her friend. "But, I'm worried he'll think what I'm doing is against the rules. It's just two friends having lunch. We've done that before."
Barriss nods in agreement. "Still, if he finds out about this and the other times you went to see Jake without your master knowing about it."
Ahsoka knew what would happen. "Which is why, as my friend I want you to please not tell him anything about this."
Barriss lets out a small sigh. She now has to keep two secrets. She has to keep her secret of being a Power Ranger and now keeping her friend's secret. This was not what she wanted to do.
"All right, I'll keep this a secret."
Ahsoka wraps her arms around her friend and gives her a hug. "Thank you."
Barriss returns the hug. "No problem. Just be careful, okay?"
Ahsoka nods her head. "I will."
Rhen Var
Damien walks up the staircase of his mountain base as he watches his new factory in progress. Thanks to Gila, they found some suppliers who were able to send them parts so he can create more robot soldiers. They found a factory nearby that belonged to a Separatist base. He ordered his minions to use the factory to help build him more soldiers.
He also should be thanking the Hutts for their assistance. Not only did he 'borrow' money from them, but he used that to help build his new base to make it less ugly. It didn't look bad before, but it did need a little spit shine in order to make it look like it's a place worthy for him With his new robots made and his base looking like one things are looking well for Damien, with only one downside.
It has been a week since his last attack and his first loss against the Power Rangers. He got over it, especially when he found out about this universe they are living in. He learned about everything from before his arrival to right now. What he found made the evil smile on his face grow.
He learned about the history of this universe, including of its inhabitants. He learned about the Republic, to the Jedi Order, and to the just about everything that he can find about this world. The one thing he was most interested in, was the Sith. He was intrigued by who they were and what they could do.
Damien learned that they are the enemies of the Jedi and almost destroyed the universe. He was so impressed with the destruction the Sith caused, until he learned what happened to them. He learned they were destroyed by the Jedi and that the Sith were extinct. At least that was until he found out there are a few left alive.
Using his dark viewing globe he found a few Sith are still alive and how they turned to the Dark side. Damien is interested in this and hopes to meet one of these Sith soon so he can form an alliance. Of course, he needs to find them first. He already knows about Count Dooku, but he knew he wasn't a Sith Lord.
He was a Sith, but not the master. Damien is interested in meeting the one who is training Dooku.
"Master," he looks over to see Torus approaching him. "We found him."
Damien knew who his subject is talking about and walks back to his throne room. He makes it to the top where he sees Vampira flying around the globe.
"Are you sure it's him?" Damien asked as he approaches the globe.
Vampira nods her head as she rubs the orb. "I sense a lot of evil in this one. His power is great and is able to fool even those Jedi."
Damien is now very interested as he approaches the globe. It begins to show images of an old man in his office working. To many people the old man seems harmless, but for Damien there is more to this old man than meets the eye. Using his powers he is able to see the true form of the old man and his evil smile grew.
"It's him," said Damien as he begins to laugh. "So, we finally found him."
"We believe he is going to a planet called…Naboo," Torus responds.
"Hmmm," Damien walks over the wall and opens it. "Which one should I choose?"
He picks a vial with scaly amphibian humanoid monster. Damien uses his powers and brings the monster to life.
"Welcome back, Kappa," said Damien as he greets his monster.
Kappa kneels down and bows his head. "It's great to be back, master. How may I serve you?"
"I want you to go to Naboo and cause as much chaos as you can," Damien explains as he points to the globe and shows his monster the planet. "Distract the guards and soldiers in any way you can until I get to meet an ally."
Kappa nods his head. "It shall be done mater."
Damien turns towards Vampira. "Keep the young man Skywalker distracted. I don't want him getting involved."
Vampira nods her head, while Torus looks on confused. "Master, what about me?"
"I'm assuming they will be bringing their…starships to protect the planet," Damien approaches his bull monster and placed his hand on his shoulder. "Do what you do best…destroy."
Torus understands his mission and bows his head. "It shall be done, master."
Damien turns towards the globe again and begins to laugh. "I am so looking forward to our meeting."
That's the end of the chapter and it looks like things are getting interested for the next chapter. Think the Rangers will be ready for what Damien is up to? Will Ahsoka be able to keep her secret from her master? And what will happen if Skywalker does find out? Find out next time to see what happens next.
